In the lake Ellidavatn, southwest Iceland, fish samples were collected with gillnets of one mesh-size once or twice a month for two years. Stomach samples of 961 Arctic char and 429 brown trout were analysed. The annual diet of char consisted of chironomid larvae (31%), cladocerans Eurycercus lamellatus (19%), bivalves Pisidium spp. (16%), water snails Lymnaea peregra (15%), chironomid pupae (8%) and char eggs (5%) and that of trout consisted of sticklebacks (76%), salmonids (7%) and L. peregra (6%). The average percentage of indigestible plant remains and gravel in the stomach content was much higher for the char (14%) than trout (3%). There were large seasonal changes in the diet of char: char eggs were consumed in autumn, chironomid larvae mostly from autumn to spring, chironomid pupae in summer and E. lamellatus from summer to autumn. No seasonal changes in the diet of trout were seen. The diet overlap of char and trout was very low, usually about 10%, reaching a maximum of about 30% in late summer 1976 when the common diet was mainly E. lamellatus and chironomid pupae. The resource partitioning in Ellidavatn indicates that char are better adapted to preying on small benthic invertebrates than piscivorous trout. The segregation in the diet of the two species indicated competition for restricted food supply, which was also consistent with slow growth and low condition factor of char (0.8–1.0) and trout (1.0) in Ellidavatn. The prey of trout were two orders of magnitude larger than the prey of char which may explain why adult char grew more slowly (2 cm y−1) than adult trout (4 cm y−1) and reached sexual maturity at a smaller size (30 cm) than trout (40 cm).  相似文献

Changes in the soluble sugar, starch, total non-structural carbohydrate (TNC) and nutrient (N, P, K) concentration in the reed rhizome were investigated in different reed habitat types in Lake Fertõ/Neusiedlersee during the vegetation period in 1993 to 94. Three die-back and four vigorous reed stands were monitored.For biomass estimations rhizomes were collected twice, in early summer and in autumn. They were calculated to be 1.9 to 2.7 kg/m2 at die-back and 3.1 to 6.1 kg/m2 at vigorous sites.The carbohydrate and nutrient concentrations of the reed rhizomes were high at the beginning of the vegetation period; they reached their minima in May–June, which was followed by a gradual increase until the end of the vegetation period. From autumn to spring the concentrations decreased, e.g. TNC concentration by 15 to 40% at vigorous, 50 to 70% at die-back sites.In both years the lowest carbohydrate concentrations were recorded at the end of May, a month before the inflorescence developed (vigorous sites: 50–70 mg TNC/g, die-back sites: 70–120 mg TNC/g). In that period the standing stock of the TNC in the rhizome did not separate the sites clearly, and the smallest carbohydrate standing stock was measured at a vigorous site with a high water cover.At the beginning of summer and in autumn the soluble sugar, TNC and N concentration values were higher at the die-back than at the vigorous sites but the standing stock was higher at the vigorous sites. In autumn the TNC standing stock of the rhizomes was between 780 and 1200 g/m2 at vigorous, between 380 and 690 g/m2 at die-back sites. This is especially important for the reactions and resistance of die-back reed stands to unfavourable conditions.  相似文献

Seasonal variations in the origin of lead in snow at Dye 3, Greenland   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The isotopic composition and concentration of lead has been measured in fresh and slightly aged snow collected at Dye 3 in southern Greenland during one full year. The lead concentration displayed large variations ranging from 14–3016 pg/g in April (spring) to 3–6 pg/g in September (summer) while the isotopic ratios changed in regular manner during the year. The 206Pb/207Pb ratios were 1.15 from spring to mid-summer snow, and increased in late summer to early autumn, reaching 1.20 in winter. These isotopic data indicate that the lead in the autumn to winter snow originated in North America, while that in spring to mid-summer snow is from Eurasia.  相似文献

为探明长江中游大型水库水质状况,并为饮用水源安全保障提供科学依据,于2013 2014年按季节对湖北红安金沙河水库浮游植物群落结构及其多样性进行调查,并运用多元统计定量分析浮游植物群落结构与环境因子之间的关系.共鉴定出浮游植物8门94属216种,其中绿藻门为优势种群,其种类数占总物种数的51.39%,其次是硅藻门和蓝藻门.金沙河水库优势种随季节变化而变化,夏季以尖针杆藻(Synedra acus)的优势度最大(0.195),秋季以小胶鞘藻(Phormidium tenus)(0.180)和中华尖头藻(Raphidiopsis sinensia)(0.171)的优势度最大,冬季以具星小环藻(Cyclotella stelligera)(0.220)和圆筒锥囊藻(Dinobryon cylindricum)(0.234)的优势度最大,春季则是链状曲壳藻(Achanthidum catenatum)成为绝对优势种(0.910);金沙河水库浮游植物群落总的变化规律为夏季的硅藻门、蓝藻门和绿藻门,秋季的蓝藻门、绿藻门、硅藻门和隐藻门,向冬季的硅藻门和金藻门转变,春季则是硅藻门为绝对优势类群.Shannon-Wiener多样性指数和Pielou均匀度指数显示,浮游植物在秋季的多样性和均匀度较高,春季的多样性指数和均匀度指数显著低于其它季节,这是因为春季有绝对单一的优势物种,而秋季没有,且秋季的物种数最多,因此其Margalef丰富度指数也最高.将各季节优势种和经Pearson相关性分析筛选出的环境因子进行冗余分析,结果表明筛选的环境因子中磷酸盐、总磷和溶解氧浓度是影响金沙河水库浮游植物群落结构的主要环境因子.从藻类季节变化规律来看,金沙河水库夏、秋季水质污染程度较春、冬季严重;但从藻类丰度和多样性指数来看,春、夏季水质较秋、冬季污染严重.  相似文献

The contamination of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in sediments from the Wu-Shi River estuary was investigated to evaluate the pollution potentials and distribution of OCPs in central Taiwan. A total of 19 sediment samples were collected at five sampling stations along the River estuary. The concentrations of OCPs were in the range of 0.99–14.5 ng/g-dry weight (dw) for ΣHCH (-, β-, γ-, δ-HCH), 0.46–13.4 ng/g-dw for Σcyclodiene and 0.53–11.4 ng/g-dw for ΣDDT (p,p-DDD, p,p-DDE, p,p-DDT). The mean concentrations of ΣHCH, Σcyclodiene and ΣDDT were 3.79, 4.87 and 2.51 ng/g-dw, respectively. The total concentrations of OCPs correspond to 1.73–71.9 μg/g-OC when normalized to TOC contents. Among the organochlorine pesticides, endosulfan sulfate, β-HCH, and p,p-DDD were the most dominant compounds in the sediments with the average concentrations of 1.97, 3.43 and 2.08 ng/g, respectively. Also, different contamination patterns among sampling seasons were observed. The measured concentrations of OCPs collected in spring were higher than those in autumn and winter. A linear relationship between sediment characteristics and OCP residues was also demonstrated. The results obtained in this study show that there still exist a variety of organochlorine pesticide residues in the sediments from the near shore of central Taiwan.  相似文献

Summary The correlation matrix for the vertical ozone distribution and the temperature-ozone cross-correlation matrix, which was calculated from ozone soundings made over Berlin between 1967 and 1970, the statistical structure of the vertical ozone profile (correlation coefficients, average profiles, average standard deviation, relative variability) was derived for the three ozone seasons. The partial ozone pressure does not at all heights follow a normal distribution (e. g. at tropopause level). Generally, the correlation between tropospheric and stratospheric ozone is rather poor. In some layers the highest correlation coefficients, i.e. –0.3 and +0.4, occur in autumn (October to December) and in winter and spring (January to April). The correlation between the ozone amounts of various stratospheric layers is distinct in autumn, less distinct in summer (May to September) and entirely missing from January to April. Conspicuous cross-correlations between temperature and ozone have been found for all three seasons. a) With a negative correlation between tropospheric temperature and middle tropospheric to middle stratospheric ozone (maximum up to –0.8); b) with a rather strong positive correlation between the ozone amount and the temperature in the lower stratosphere (maximum up to +0.84); c) with a positive correlation between the ozone amount of the middle stratosphere and the temperature of the middle stratosphere (maximum up to +0.8). Lake Breiter Luzin, located in north-eastern Germany, is known for the rare occurrence of sympatric populations of European cisco, Coregonus albula and C. lucinensis. Moreover, the lake is inhabited by the glacial relict crustacean Mysis relicta, currently found in only three other lakes in Germany. In the present study, the role of M. relicta in the diet of ciscoes was investigated. Between 2001 and 2002 ciscoes, mysids and zooplankton were caught in Lake Breiter Luzin and stomach contents of ciscoes were analysed. There were seasonal changes in the food items in the stomachs, largely reflecting changes in prey availability. The main food items were copepods (45–81%) and mysids (5–26%). Cladocerans had high amounts in the diet only in summer. Seasonal changes in selectivity were also noted for most prey groups. There were also some consistent patterns of prey preference, with an overall preference for mysids. In general, the prey composition in cisco stomachs did not show significant diet changes, but there were some significant differences between day and night feeding in single prey groups, such as cladocerans. Diet composition of ciscoes varied with the different depth strata in which the fish were caught. With increasing depth, the proportion of mysids in the diet significantly increased, whereas that of copepods significantly decreased. Between C. albula and C. lucinensis, no distinct differences in feeding were evident. Mysids provided an additional and important food resource to ciscoes, and were mainly consumed when the availability of other prey organisms decreased, as in autumn and in the deeper strata of the water column. However, mysids preyed on the same food organisms as ciscoes, indicating a strong competition for food between fish and mysids.  相似文献

Life history, habitat utilisation, and biomass of benthic and pelagic opossum shrimp (Mysis relicta) were studied in the oligotrophic Lake Jonsvatn, central Norway. Sampling in the pelagic zone was done by means of a closing zooplankton net; in the benthic zone by means of a benthic beam trawl.

M. relicta had a mixed one or two year life cycle. In the autumn, the proportion of mature females and males were larger in the pelagic than in the benthic habitat. Copulation took place in late autumn, and the first females with eggs occurred in November. In February, the first juvenile M. relicta were released in the benthic habitat. In May and July, however, juveniles were found in large numbers in all parts of the lake. The length distribution of M. relicta indicates that juveniles partly segregate between benthic and pelagic habitats.

Both juvenile and adult M. relicta performed vertical diel migrations in the pelagic habitat. In the benthic habitat, diel vertical migrations along the bottom were not as pronounced as vertical migrations in the pelagic habitat. In the benthic habitat, major migrations were performed only by adults in the autumn. Our results indicate that the light intensity in the green part of the spectrum gives the proximate cue for regulation of vertical distribution of M. relicta.

The mean total biomass varied between 288 and 1576 kg dry weight, corresponding to 23.2–127.1 mg dry weight m−2 surface area. M. relicta had smallest biomass during late spring/early summer and largest biomass during autumn and early winter. Estimated pelagic biomasses were largest in February, August, October and November, while benthic biomasses were largest in May and July. Estimated biomass of pelagic M. relicta during autumn was approximately 1/10 of the estimated biomass of zooplankton in this lake.  相似文献

Toxicity of 1,4-dichlorobenzene in sediments to juvenile polychaete worms   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Investigation of sediment contamination associated with a marine sewage outfall in Victoria (BC, Canada) found elevated concentrations of 1,4-dichlorobenzene (1,4-DCB). Juvenile polychaete worm (Neanthes) growth was significantly reduced at or near the outfall, roughly corresponding to elevated 1,4-DCB concentrations. There are few data on 1,4-DCB toxicity to marine organisms and no published literature on its toxicity to benthic marine organisms. To determine whether reduced polychaete growth (measured as dry weight) was due to 1,4-DCB exposure, a laboratory investigation was conducted. Uncontaminated marine sediment was spiked with 1,4-DCB and juvenile Neanthes were exposed in 20-d sublethal toxicity tests. There were no adverse effects on survival at any test concentration; mean survival was 80–100%. Statistically significant decreases in average dry weight only occurred at the highest 1,4-DCB concentration (19,900 μg/kg, dry weight); this represented a 1,4-DCB concentration more than 10 times higher than previously measured at the outfall (1710 μg/kg, dry weight). There were no adverse effects on survival or dry weight at the range of concentrations previously measured in sediments from the vicinity of the outfall.  相似文献

This investigation was designed to estimate the mass loading of nitrate (NO3) and herbicides in spring water discharging from groundwater basins in an agriculturally dominated, mantled karst terrain. The loading was normalized to land use and NO3 and herbicide losses were compared to estimated losses in other agricultural areas of the Midwestern USA. Our study area consisted of two large karst springs that drain two adjoining groundwater basins (total area of 37.7 km2) in southwestern Illinois' sinkhole plain, USA. The springs and stream that they form were monitored for almost 2 years. Nitrate–nitrogen (NO3–N) concentrations at three monitoring sites were almost always above the background concentration (1.9 mg/l). NO3–N concentrations at the two springs ranged from 1.08 to 6.08 with a median concentration of 3.61 mg/l. Atrazine and alachlor concentrations ranged from <0.01 to 34 μg/l and <0.01 to 0.98 μg/l, respectively, with median concentrations of 0.48 and 0.12 μg/l, respectively. Approximately 100,000 kg/yr of NO3–N, 39 kg/yr of atrazine, and 2.8 kg/yr of alachlor were discharged from the two springs. Slightly more than half of the discharged NO3 came from background sources and most of the remainder probably came from fertilizer. This represents a 21–31% loss of fertilizer N from the groundwater basins. The pesticide losses were 3.8–5.8% of the applied atrazine, and 0.05–0.08% of the applied alachlor. The loss of atrazine adsorbed to the suspended solid fraction was about 2 kg/yr, only about 5% of the total mass of atrazine discharged from the springs.  相似文献

“Southern Resident” killer whales include three “pods” (J, K and L) that reside primarily in Puget Sound/Georgia Basin during the spring, summer and fall. This population was listed as “endangered” in the US and Canada following a 20% decline between 1996 and 2001. The current study, using blubber/epidermis biopsy samples, contributes contemporary information about potential factors (i.e., levels of pollutants or changes in diet) that could adversely affect Southern Residents. Carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes indicated J- and L-pod consumed prey from similar trophic levels in 2004/2006 and also showed no evidence for a large shift in the trophic level of prey consumed by L-pod between 1996 and 2004/2006. ∑PCBs decreased for Southern Residents biopsied in 2004/2006 compared to 1993–1995. Surprisingly, however, a three-year-old male whale (J39) had the highest concentrations of ∑PBDEs, ∑HCHs and HCB. POP ratio differences between J- and L-pod suggested that they occupy different ranges in winter.  相似文献

丹江口水库是南水北调中线工程水源地,库湾是水库型湖泊水质安全敏感区,动态调水过程库湾水质直接关系到调水安全.为探究动态调水过程中丹江口水库库湾浮游植物季节变化规律和驱动因子,2018年7月—2019年7月,从丹库入库口到渠首调水口,按季节对18个样点进行水质和浮游植物群落组成分析.从整个丹库来看,浮游植物全年总丰度变化范围为0.43×10~3~4.7× 10~6 cells/L,夏季最高,秋季最低;Shannon-Wiener指数春季最高,秋季最低.春季群落为硅藻—绿藻型,夏季为绿藻—硅藻型,秋季为蓝藻型,冬季为蓝藻—绿藻—硅藻型,秋季蓝藻相对丰度最高.位于丹库准保护区内的库湾胡寨,秋季水体电导率、总氮、总磷和叶绿素a浓度最大,蓝藻丰度最高.从入库口经库湾到调水口,浮游植物群落组成存在明显演替.从水文因子来看,秋季水库水位较高,调水流速和流量增加,线性回归分析表明,水位对ShannonWiener指数的影响最为明显,水位越高则多样性指数越低;流量和流速与Shannon-Wiener指数也呈负相关,但相关性较低.方差分解分析发现,水文因子和理化因子共同影响了浮游植物群落组成;偏Mantel分析显示3个库湾浮游植物群落组成与水温、氧化还原电位、化学需氧量、总氮和总磷浓度相关;典范对应分析也表明,总氮是影响库湾浮游植物群落组成最显著的环境因子.人类干扰活动改变了库湾水质理化性质,强干扰提高了蓝藻门丰度.因此,控制库湾人类干扰强度,尤其在水位和调水量较高的秋季,对于改善水体藻类组成、保护整个丹江口水库水质具有重要意义.  相似文献

DNA strand breaks in seastars and dab were measured by the time-dependent partial alkaline unwinding of DNA followed by the determination of the double-stranded to total DNA ratio (F-value). Highest DNA integrity (0.75 < F < 0.85) was found in seastars from offshore reference sites, whereas lowest integrity (0.35 < F < 0.55) was identified in specimens from the coastal zone and certain expected uncontaminated offshore areas. A significant correlation existed between the fraction of double-stranded DNA and the concentration of low chlorinated biphenyl congeners and with H atoms substituted in the meta and para position of the biphenyl skeleton. Over 90% of double-stranded DNA was measured in dab obtained from pristine areas, with an average F-value in specimens from most sampling stations varying from 0.75 to 0.85, during August/September 1991. Samples taken in May/June 1992 showed significantly lower DNA integrity (0.55 < F < 0.70 in most stations). A significant decrease of the integrity was established with increase in concentration of the congeners (tri to hepta chloro substituted and with or without a H atom substituted in the meta and para position).  相似文献

The life history of the amphipod Orchestia sp. cf. cavimana (Heller, 1865) was studied throughout the course of a year with monthly samplings and the use of pitfall traps along the shores of Lake Albano in central Italy. The data thus obtained showed two peaks in abundance (the first in June and the second in October) and a minimum capture frequency in February. Egg-bearing females were recorded in spring and late summer, whilst recruitment occurred from spring to autumn, with maximum in June and October. The data collected also indicated the presence of a positive correlation between the abundance of talitrids and both temperature and sediment moisture. Morphological analysis enabled the identification of four different cohorts (with a lifespan of the species of approximately 12–15 months) all four of which remained distinguishable throughout the course of the year. It, moreover, enabled sex determination in individuals of 5 or more millimetres. The subsequent distribution indicated that, when significant, the sex ratio was female biased and that maximum size was greater in males. In particular, maximum sizes were recorded in spring for both males and females and were of 17.5 and 13.0 mm, respectively. Furthermore, the total body length recorded for egg-bearing females was positively correlated with the number of eggs in their brood pouch.  相似文献

Oyster tissues may be affected by the concentration of ions in the water (i.e. salinity) and by contaminants such as petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals. Oyster populations from three coastal lagoons (Mecoacan, Camen and Machona) in the Mexican state of Tabasco, in the southern Gulf of Mexico, were sampled for pollution studies during June, September and November 1992 and May 1993. No statistically significant relationships were found between the concentration of contaminants in the body tissues of organisms and their shell length, soft tissue weight and particulate matter; however, a significant correlation was found between condition index and salinity (r = −0.72). Generally, the lowest weights, shell lengths and indices of condition were found in Mecoacan. The concentrations of cadmium and zinc were inversely related to salinity (r = −0.52 and r = −0.32, respectively), so a riverine input is suspected. On average, 63% of the individual oysters showed histopathological lesions, which can be related to salinity and to the concentrations of cadmium and the unresolved fraction of hydrocarbons (UCM). The response of each of the tissues analysed was different. The percentage of individuals with damage in the digestive diverticulum increased linearly with UCM (r = 0.71), but in a saturation-response fashion (Y = B0B0/(1 + XB1) r = 0.66) with cadmium. The percentage of individuals with damage in the gills increased linearly with weight (r = 0.68), cadmium (r = 0.60) and UCM (r = 0.60). The lesions in the connective tissue decreased linearly (r = −0.82) with salinity, but increased in a saturation-response way (r = 0.83) with cadmium. Finally, the percentage of individuals with lesions in the digestive tube decreased linearly with salinity (r = −0.59). Only the damage to the gills and digestive diverticula were dependent on gonadal maturity, while damage to the connective tissue was dependent on the sex of the individual.  相似文献

Variations in some physical, chemical, and nutrient conditions were investigated at Turkwel Gorge Reservoir and its inflowing river, Suam between 1994 and 1995. Seasonal changes in inflow volume had the greatest impact on the reservoir and river conditions investigated. A wide fluctuation in inflow volume combined with a regulated outflow independent of season resulted in a draw down of over 10 m in each year. Flood inflows during the wet season resulted in the lowest values of Secchi depth (range, 0.09–2.16 m), electrical conductivity (EC, range = 140–200 mS cm−1) and total alkalinity (TA, range = 75–111 mg l−1) while the highest values were measured during the dry season. A functional relation between EC and TA (TA = 0.529 mg l−1, EC: R2 = 0.876) suggests a predominance of carbonates among the anions. Vertical profiles of temperature and dissolved oxygen (DO) revealed that the reservoir is monomictic with a wide variation in the depth of the daily mixed layer. High values of pH (range = 6.7–8.9) and DO (range = 4.9–9.2 mg l−1) were associated with periods of peak phytoplankton photosynthesis while the lowest values followed reservoir mixing. Peak total nitrogen (TN, range = 119–526 μg l−1) and total phosphorus (TP, range = 8.9–71.6 μg l−1) levels during the wet season resulted from increased river loading. Values of dissolved reactive silica (DRS, range = 0.41–9.77 mg l−1) showed a wet season decline which was related to diatom depletion during the wet season. Annual reservoir areal loading rates of 27.38, 10.90 and 408.5 mg m−2 were computed for TN, TP and DRS respectively based on estimates of inflowing river loads in 1994.

At the inflowing river Suam, low levels of EC (range = 107–210 μS cm−1) and TA (range = 62–125 mg l−1) occurred during the wet season while the highest levels occurred shortly before the river dried up. The first flood water at the resumption of river inflow in March was characterized by very low levels of DO (range = 1.8–8.2 mg l−1) and high levels of TN (range = 205–3354 μg l−1) and TP (102–1259 μg l−1). River pII (6.9–7.7) and DRs (range = 9.01–19.93 mg l−1) varied irregularly throughout the year.  相似文献

为了加强长江中游地区大型无脊椎底栖动物的研究工作,2009年3月至2010年3月,对长江中游巴河支流的胜利河毛翅目优势种的生产力和营养基础进行了为期一年的调查研究.结果表明,胜利河中主要毛翅目优势种纹石蛾的生活史为一年3代.一至四级河流中,其生物量周年平均值分别为1.77、7.80、44.82、51.55 mg/m2.采用体长频率法测算的年均生产量为7.72 mg/m2,P/B系数为13.21.利用肠内含物分析法研究了胜利河中纹石蛾的营养结构.比较一至四级河流的营养基础发现,无形态碎屑为纹石蛾最常见的食物,占肠内含物的45.22%~62.92%;而对生产量贡献率最高的多是动物组织,达52.86%~68.58%.各季节的营养基础状况也有差异,春季无形态碎屑所占比例和对生产量的贡献率较高,而夏、秋和冬季动物组织则有更高的生产量贡献率.一至四级河流的年均物质通量分别为11.83、34.76、237.52和273.17g/(m2·a).由此可见,该优势种在河流生态系统中发挥着重要作用.  相似文献

Effluents from brown coal mines are frequently rich in iron, the water being red-brown in colour and turbid. For several years a fish farm in the Lusatia (Brandenburg, Germany) has used such mine effluents for rearing rainbow trout. The total iron content of this water varies between 5 and 10 mg/l with pH ranging from 6.7 to 7.4. Water turbidity is high with a transparency of 10 to 40 cm at the most due to the substantial ferric hydroxide concentrations. Until 1989 trout have been reared in net cages within concrete settling basins destined for settling the ferric hydroxide mud. The cages were stocked with fingerlings in autumn, reaching portion size in the spring of the following year. Specific growth rate was 0.98% per day, comparable to that of trout in another farm unpolluted by iron but stocked at higher densities. The results show that fingerling rainbow trout may live in water containing more than 5 mg/l total iron but in the absence of Fe2+. These concentrations of water-borne iron seem to have only a limited detrimental effect on fish growth and feed conversion and do not prevent trout culture in principle.  相似文献
