In accordance with the set of species-defining chemical elements in minerals, n-component systems (where n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) for all mineral species (4952) known to 2014 inclusive were distinguished. Seventy chemical elements have been established to be species-defining, which are distributed by mineral systems as follows: 1 (29), 2 (62), 3 (68), 4 (61), 5 (61), 6 (55), 7 (49), 8 (38), 9 (28), and 10 (19). The number of mineral species in which certain chemical elements are species-defining has been specified. Oxygen (4041), hydrogen (2755), silicon (1448), calcium (1139), sulfur (1025), aluminum (960), iron (917), sodium (914), copper (616), phosphorous (580), arsenic (575), and magnesium (550) are the leading elements in minerals in the Earth’s crust. It has been found that the most species-defining elements are normally distributed by mineral systems. The distributions of mineral species in various systems from the Khibiny and Lovozero, Kola Peninsula, Russia; and Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada peralkaline plutons were compared and the characters of species-defining element distribution in these localities were compared. Si, Na, K, C, F, Ti, Ce, Zr, Nb, Sr, and Th are “excess” species-defining elements in minerals from the plutons compared to the total number of mineral species, whereas S, Cu, Pb, Cl, B, Te, Ag, Ni, and Be are “scarce” elements.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to investigate the concentrations of heavy metals (HMs) in deep groundwater from coal mining area, including cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), and nickel (Ni). The samples were collected from different aquifers in four coal mines of northern Anhui province, China, which were unconsolidated formation (UF), coal measure aquifer (CA), Taiyuan limestone aquifer (TA), and Ordovician limestone aquifer (OA), respectively. HM concentrations from the four different sources were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometer, and were found in the order of Zn>Ni>Pb>Cu>Cd>Cr (in UF), Ni>Zn>Pb>Cu>Cr>Cd (in CA), Ni>Zn>Pb>Cu>Cd>Cr (in TA), and Zn>Ni>Pb>Cu>Cr>Cd (in OA), respectively. Concentrations of Cu, Zn, and Cr were found within the quality guidelines set by Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision of China (GB/T 14848-93) and World Health Organization, while the concentrations of Cd, Pb, and Ni were higher than their respective permissible limits. The enhanced concentrations of Ni, together with Cr, were considered to be affected by anthropogenic sources, since they both had high variable coefficient. Moreover, the inter-dependence of HMs and their pollution sources were further discussed using statistical techniques, including one-factor analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and principle component analysis.  相似文献

Male blue crabsCallinectes sapidus Rathbun were allowed to forage on six size classes of the Atlantic rangia clam,Rangia cuneata (Sowerby), in laboratory squaria under conditions of restricted or unrestricted prey size availability. Prey profitability (energy gained divided by handling time) decreased as prey size increased. Crabs preferred smaller clams (1–2 cm long, then 2–3 cm long), as predicted by an energy maximization model. Under conditions of restricted prey sizes (nonreplacement experiments), when the smaller clams were no longer available, crabs tended to choose progressively larger clams. Crabs did not exhibit selective feeding behavior among clams larger than 3 cm long. For the range of crab sizes tested (71–167 mm carapace width), there was no correlation between crab carapace width and the mean clam size that was eaten.  相似文献

A variety of gemstones is being mined in the Shigar valley, Skardu, Pakistan. These include beryl (goshenite and aquamarine), tourmaline (schorl), garnet (almandine–spessartine), apatite, topaz, fluorite, zoisite, clinozoisite, and axinite, mostly occurring in complex or zoned pegmatites and metamorphic rocks. These have been analyzed using electron probe micro-analyzer and X-ray diffractometer. The mineral chemistry of each gemstone is similar to its respective typical gemstone variety with homogenous chemical composition. Field and chemical characteristics suggest that beryl, tourmaline, garnet, apatite, topaz, and fluorite are occurring in zoned pegmatites which are largely formed by magmatic hydrothermal fluids in the cavities and vugs within the intermediate zone. However, zoisite, clinozoisite, and axinite may have a metamorphic and/or metasomatic origin.  相似文献

We have studied the star 30 LMi using high-dispersion CCD spectra and photographic observations. We estimate the star's effective temperature Teff=7210 K, gravity log g=3.34, and microturbulence velocity ξt=5.8 km/s. The carbon abundance, log ?(C)=8.57, is close to the solar value. Nitrogen (log ?(N)=7.81), oxygen (log ?(O)=8.76), and sulfur (log ?(S)=7.20) are slightly underabundant compared to the Sun, by ?0.16 dex, ?0.11 dex, and ?0.13 dex, respectively. A relatively large underabundance of ?0.27 dex was found for titanium (log ?(Ti)=4.75), whereas zinc shows an over-abundance by +0.21 dex (log ?(Zn)=4.81). Sodium (log ?(Na)=6.26), silicon (log ?(Si)=7.57), calcium (log ?(Ca)=6.38), chromium (log ?(Cr)=5.62), iron (log ?(Fe)=7.51), nickel (log ?(Ni)=6.34), and yttrium (log ?(Y)=2.34) exhibited abundances close to the solar values. We find no chemical anomalies characteristic of Am stars or δ Scuti stars in the spectrum of 30 LMi.  相似文献

A new mineral species, named naquite(FeSi), is found in the podiform chromitites of the Luobusha ophiolite in Qusong County, Tibet, China. The detailed composition is Fe 65.65, Si 32.57 and Al 1.78 wt%. The mineral is cubic, space group P213. The irregular crystals range from 15 to 50 μm in diameter and form an intergrowth with luobusaite. Naquite is steel grey in color, opaque, with a metallic lustre and gives a grayish-black streak. The mineral is brittle, has a conchoidal fracture and no apparent cleavage. The estimated Mohs hardness is 6.5, and the calculated density is 6.128 g/cm3. Unit-cell parameters are a 4.486 (4) ?, V 90.28 (6) ?3, Z=4. The five strongest powder diffraction lines [d in ? (hkl) (I/I0)] are: 3.1742 (110) (40), 2.5917(111) (43), 2.0076 (210) (100), 1.8307 (211) (65), and 1.1990 (321) (36). Originally called ‘fersilicite’, the species and new name have now been approved by the CNMNC (IMA 2010–010).  相似文献

通过对洛川凤栖镇L12~S15土层8个层位16个实验点的入渗实验,研究了离石黄土下部层位的入渗特征。结果表明,洛川凤栖镇离石黄土下部层位黄土层的渗透系数较大,L12,L13,L14和L15这4个层位的平均值为0.90mm/分;  古土壤层的渗透系数较小,S12,S13,S14和S15的4个层位的平均值为0.35mm/分。L12,L13和L15黄土层含水空间发育较好,利于构成含水层;  S12,S13,S14和S15古土壤层含水空间发育弱,利于构成隔水层。上覆总厚70余米的土层重力作用没有改变洛川离石黄土下部黄土层作为含水层和红色古土壤作为隔水层的基本特性,它们的水理性质仍是受沉积时的气候条件和成壤作用的强弱控制。古土壤层也具有一定的渗透性,这是黄土地下水常常具有多层性的原因,也是造成黄土地下水分散、含水层富水量少的主要原因。离石黄土下部黄土层含水空间发育好和利于构成含水层主要是当时冷干的气候决定的,红色古土壤含水空间发育弱和利于构成隔水层主要是当时温湿的气候决定的。将洛川黄土渗水实验数据用3种入渗公式分别进行拟合得出,常用的通用经验公式和考斯加科夫公式基本适用于描述洛川凤栖镇离石黄土下部层位的入渗规律,通过计算获得的2个经验公式各参数的均值和标准差为水文和农业部门应用黄土入渗经验公式提供了重要参考值。研究还揭示,第四纪环境变化理论研究在黄土水资源开发利用方面有重要应用价值。可以根据黄土与古土壤的成壤强弱判别地下水富集规律和富集层位。成壤强、隔水性好的古土壤层和其上的成壤作用很弱、含水空间发育好的黄土层是很好的地下水含水组合,最利于地下水的富集;  成壤作用弱、隔水性差的古土壤和其上厚度小、受风化成壤作用相对较强的黄土层是较差的含水组合,不利于地下水的富集。  相似文献

Zr, Y, and heavy rare earth element (HREE) mineralization hosted by late Proterozoic metamorphic rocks from the western Dabie Mountains, northern Hubei Province, central China was discovered in 1978 by the Hubei Regional Geological Party (Li et al., 1981) and is examined further in this paper. The area is located in the EW-trending fold belt between the Sino-Korean and Yangtze cratons. Highly metamorphosed hornblende-plagioclase gneiss, granitic gneiss, and migmatites of the late Archean Dabie Group constitute the basement, which is unconformably covered by the late Proterozoic Hongan Group—a sequence of phosphorus-bearing layer(s), dolomitic marbles, muscovite-albite schist, felsic schists, and a variety of greenschists.

The stratiform Zr, Y, and HREE mineralization is hosted by felsic and albite-muscovite schists of the lower part of the Hongan Group, which was highly stressed and deformed. The mineralized layer, about 10 m in thickness, occurs concordantly in the strata and extends discontinuously more than 15 km from northwest to southeast. The host felsic schists have a mineral assemblage of quartz + albite + microcline + muscovite + magnetite ± epidote ± garnet, and are estimated to have been subjected to a metamorphism of 3607–440 °C. Accessory minerals include zircon, gadolinite, fergusonite, xenotime, monazite, allanite, gahnite, and apatite. The rocks are very similar to metaluminous rhyolite in major component composition: they are moderately to highly enriched (ppm) in Zr (4980–6246), Y (745–1119), Nb (186–232), Ta (18–24), Th (132–171), U (22–28), Yb (83–109), Hf (183–204), Ga (35–50) and Sn (39–48) and have relatively high Rb/Sr ratios (6–17). These chemical features are, to a certain extent, similar to those of high-silica rhyolites from North America, and comparable to H?gtuva Be-REE-U-Sn-mineralization in Precambrian granitic gneiss in Norway, to a volcanic-hosted rare-metals deposit at Brockman, Western Australia, and to Zr, Nb, Y, and HREE mineralization related to alkaline and peralkaline granites from Canada, the Arabian Shield, Nigeria, and northern China. A submarine sedimentary-volcanic origin is proposed for interpretation of the genesis of this unusual HREE mineralization.  相似文献

We describe the new mineral species titanium,ideally Ti,found in the podiform chromitites of the Luobusha ophiolite in Tibet,People’s Republic of China.The irregular crystals range from 0.1 to 0.6 mm in diameter and form an intergrowth with coesite and kyanite.Titanium is silver grey in colour,the luster is metallic,it is opaque,the streak is grayish black,and it is non-fluorescent.The mineral is malleable,has a rough to hackly fracture and has no apparent cleavage.The estimated Mohs hardness is 4,and the calculated density is 4.503 g/cm3.The composition is Ti 99.23-100.00 wt%.The mineral is hexagonal,space group P63 /mmc.Unit-cell parameters are a 2.950(2),c 4.686(1),V 35.32(5) 3,Z = 2.The five strongest powder diffraction lines [d in(hkl)(I/I0)] are: 2.569(010)(32),2.254(011)(100),1.730(012)(16),1.478(110)(21),and 0.9464(121)(8).The species and name were approved by the CNMNC(IMA 2010–044).  相似文献

The rare metal minerals of mineralized altered granites within the Ghadir and El-Sella shear zones, are represented by betafite, U-minerals (uraninite and uranophane), zircon, monazite, xenotime, and rutile in the Ghadir shear zone. While they are columbite-tantalite minerals as ferrocolumbite, pyrochlore, and fergusonite, Th-minerals (cheralite, uranothorite, and huttonite monazite), Hf-zircon, monazite and xenotime in the El-Sella shear zone. Hf-zircon in the El-Sella and Ghadir shear zones (increasing from the core to the rim) contains high inclusions of U-Th, and REE minerals such as cheralite, uranothorite, huttonite monazite and xenotime especially in the El Sella shear zone. The rare-metal minerals, identified from peralkminous granites of the shear zones are associated with muscovite, quartz, chlorite, fluorite, magnetite, and biotite that are restricted to the two shear zones. Uraninite (low Th content) occurring in the Ghadir shear zone indicates the hydrothermal origin, but there are thorite, uranothorite, cheralite, and Hf-zircon in the El Sella shear zone, also indicating the hyrothermal proccess after magmatic origin. Compositional variations of Ta/(Ta+Nb) and Mn/(Mn+Fe) in columbite from 0.07-0.42 and 0.04-0.33, respectively, and Hf contents in zircon are so high as to be 12%, especially in the rim in the El Sella shear zone. This feature re-flects the extreme degree of magmatic fractionation. Four samples from the altered granites of the Ghadir shear zone also are very low in TiO2 (0.04 wt%-0.17 wt%), Sr [(82-121)×10-6], and Ba [(36-380)×10-6], but high in Fe2O3T (0.46 wt%-0.68 wt%), CaO (0.64 wt%-1.23 wt%), alkalis (8.59 wt%-8.88 wt%), Rb [(11-203)×10-6], Zr [(98-121)×10-6], Nb [(9-276)×10-6], Ta [(2-139)×10-6], U [(14-63)×10-6], Th [(16-105)×10-6], Pb [(13-32)×10-6], Zn [(7-8)×10-6], Y [(15-138)×10-6], Hf [(3-9)×10-6], and ∑REE [(81-395)×10-6, especially LREE [(70-322)×10-6]. They are very high in Zr/Hf (15.07-85.96) and Nb/Ta (7.17-21.48), and low in Rb/Sr (2.56-3.36) and Th/U (0.096-3.36). Four samples of the altered granites from the El Sella shear zone are very low in TiO2 (0.23 wt%-0.38 wt%), Sr [(47-933)×10-6], and Ba [(82-175)×10-6] , with high Fe2O3T (1.96 wt%-2.87 wt%), CaO (0.43 wt%-0.6 wt%), alkalis (4.46 wt%-10.7 wt%), Rb [(109-313)×10-6], Zr [(178-1871)×10-6], Nb [(11-404)×10-6], U [(56-182)×10-6], Th [(7-188)×10-6], Ta [(0.5-57)×10-6], Pb [(12-28)×10-6], Zn [(1-13)×10-6], Y [(62-156)×10-6], Hf [(3-124)×10-6], and ∑REE [(101-184)×10-6], especially HREE [(7-139)×10-6]. This is consistent with the very fractionated, fluorine-bearing granitic rocks that were altered and sheared in the El Sella shear zone. Zr/Hf (14.23-39.79) and Nb/Ta (1.98-7.01) are very high, and Rb/Sr (0.14-1.7) and Th/U (0.25-2.5) are low in the Ghadir shear zone. Field evidence, textural relations, and the composi-tion of ore minerals suggest that the main mineralizing event was magmatic (615+/-7 Ma, and 644+/-7 Ma CHIME monazite), especially in the El Sella shear zone, with later hydrothermal alteration and local remobilization of the high-field-strength elements.  相似文献

Edipsos area, situated in northern Euboea, has been well known since ancient times for the existence of thermal springs. In order to assess the hydrogeochemical conditions, thermal and cold water samples were collected and analyzed by ICP method for major and trace elements. The results revealed the direct impact of seawater, a process which is strongly related to the major tectonic structures of the area. Seawater impact was confirmed by the Cl/Br and Na/Cl ionic ratios, as well as from statistical processing and graphical interpretation of the analytical results, which classified the sampled waters into three groups (two for cold waters and one for the thermal ones). Trace element ranges for thermal waters are: As (44–84 ppb), Pb (23–154 ppb), Ag (1–2 ppb), Mn (31–680 ppb), Cu (61–97 ppb), Cs (66–244 ppb), Se (0–76 ppb), Li (732–3269 ppb), Fe (0–1126 ppb), Sr (14000–34100 ppb), B (4300–9600 ppb). Compared with the chemical composition of other thermal springs from the Hellenic Volcanic Arc, Edipsos thermal waters are enriched in Ca2+, Na+, Cl?, SO4 2?, Li, B and K+, reflecting the influence from seawater. Cold waters are free of heavy metals compared with other natural waters and are characterized by good quality based on the major element chemistry. Finally, several geothermometers were applied in order to assess the reservoir temperatures, but none of them appear to be applicable, mainly due to the impact of seawater on the initial hydrogeochemistry of the geothermal fluids.  相似文献

Slopes in geotechnical and mining engineering are the most crucial geo-structure. Predicting or forecasting the stability or instability of the slope and then classifying the slope accordingly helps in mitigating the risks and enhancing the design by maximizing the safety. Computing techniques have overpowered the analytical and statistical models used for predicting the stability of the slopes. To reduce the uncertainties and ambiguity of the previously used models, lately, researchers have come up with the novel techniques for Slope Stability Classification (SSC) which are Random Forest, Gradient Boosting Machine, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Boosted Trees and Classification and Regression Trees. These computational algorithms are employed in this research paper and the slope details are taken from a literature i.e. 221 input datasets are used and slopes are classified accordingly using the mentioned models. The relation between the inputs such as height (H), slope angle (β), cohesion (c), pore water pressure ratio (ru), unit weight (γ), angle of internal friction (φ) and slope stability (output) is established and slopes are categorized according to their failure and stability. Performance analysis is done thereafter to analyses and compare different models and let the readers and researchers know that which model sufficed and fitted best to the study.

The Trinity River (Texas, USA) contains in its watershed 23 different reservoir lakes, the largest one being Lake Livingston situated in the lower Trinity River watershed and two potentially polluting metroplexes, Dallas and Houston. In order to determine fluxes of nutrients and trace metals to Galveston Bay, a survey that included 24 discreet samples collected over a year and at various stages of discharge was carried out during 2000–2001. Geochemical (i.e., sorption by Fe oxyhydroxides), biological (i.e., seasonal uptake by sinking algae in Lake Livingston), and hydrological (i.e., dilution effects by increasing flow rates) controls were found to be mainly responsible for variations in dissolved trace metal concentrations rather than pollution sources. The Trinity River loads of suspended sediments and pollutant trace metals entering Galveston Bay at Anahuac were <20% of those reaching Lake Livingston, and only a few percent of the total upstream trace metal load is entering the Gulf of Mexico. Thus, during the transit through the 23 man-made lakes and an estuary, >96% of the pollutant trace metal load is lost to sediments.  相似文献

四平山金矿床位于我国黑龙江省东部的完达山陆缘增生带内,矿体主要赋存于下白垩统四平山组,表现出明显的两阶段成矿作用特征。为进一步确定四平山金矿床的成矿作用及矿床成因,本次研究对其成矿地质特征、地球化学、成矿年代学及成矿物质来源进行了分析。地球化学分析结果表明:成矿花岗斑岩为具有高SiO2(70.07%~72.93%)、(K2O+Na2O)(7.17%~8.42%)质量分数和右倾“海鸥型”稀土配分型式特征的A型花岗岩;含矿层状硅质岩中,Al/(Fe+Al+Mn)<0.32、Fe/Ti >20、(Fe+Mn)/Ti>20,并具有较高Fe2O3(0.18%~1.79%)、FeO(0.17%~0.96%)、MnO(0.03%~0.12%)、TiO2(0.03%~0.04%)、Al2O3(0.30%~2.79%)和(K2O+Na2O)(0.07%~1.76%)质量分数,指示四平山金矿床形成于活动大陆边缘构造背景下与岩浆活动有关的热水沉积环境。四平山金矿床成矿花岗斑岩锆石U-Pb年龄为(113.5±0.7)Ma。H、O、S同位素分析结果(δD=-182.3‰~-84.0‰、δ18OV-SMOW=6.5‰~14.3‰、δ34S=-12.4‰~29.7‰)显示,成矿流体主要为大气降水,成矿物质具有以地层为主的多来源特征。综上,四平山金矿床为形成于燕山晚期活动大陆边缘构造背景下的热水沉积型矿床,太平洋板块持续俯冲造成了区域上大规模的拆沉作用,导致区域构造背景由挤压向伸展发生转换,此时形成的花岗斑岩岩浆运移至地壳浅部岩浆房加热上覆地层,在地壳浅部形成了温度与压力梯度带,促使地表的大气降水沿裂隙进入地层后形成流体循环系统,并不断萃取地层中的Au元素形成含矿流体。在成矿早阶段,当压力驱动含矿流体喷出地表后与地表水相遇快速冷却,成矿物质快速沉淀,形成含矿层状硅质岩和硅质胶结砾岩,并通过交代下伏流纹斑岩形成层状、似层状矿体;在成矿晚阶段,随着岩浆房提供的热动力减弱,含矿流体滞留在裂隙通道中或穿切进入早期固结的含矿层裂隙中,沉淀形成脉状-网脉状矿体。  相似文献

最近辽西建昌地区报道发现了一系列带羽毛恐龙和翼龙化石, 其赋存化石的地层层位时代一直富有争议。我们结合前人资料对玲珑塔含化石地层剖面进行了野外调查和实测, 厘定了含化石地层沉积层序和时代归属。剖面顶底岩石组合特征主要以溢流相中性熔岩和近火山口相火山碎屑岩为主, 中间层位为河流相-湖泊相碎屑岩。该剖面产有大量叶肢介、介形类、双壳类、昆虫、鱼类、植物化石和大量脊椎动物化石。上述化石指示含恐龙化石地层时代为中侏罗世。通过区域对比认为含恐龙化石地层与区域上髫髻山组地层层序和岩石组合相似, 因此认为含恐龙化石地层为中侏罗世髫髻山组(火山岩同位素年代学年龄范围为152~165 Ma)。  相似文献

Element concentration data for a set of silicate igneous rocks have been determined by four independent analytical methods: inductivelycoupled plasma emission spectroscopy (ICP), instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), and isotope dilution mass spectrometry (ID). The results show excellent agreement among elements determined by more than one technique, and demonstrate the suitability of commercially available ICP instrumentation for the routine analysis of geologic material compared to other standard methods.  相似文献

Every year, the Republic of Korea experiences numerous landslides, resulting in property damage and casualties. This study compared the abilities of frequency ratio (FR), analytic hierarchy process (AHP), logistic regression (LR), and artificial neural network (ANN) models to produce landslide susceptibility index (LSI) maps for use in predicting possible landslide occurrence and limiting damage. The areas under the relative operating characteristic (ROC) curves for the FR, AHP, LR, and ANN LSI maps were 0.794, 0.789, 0.794, and 0.806, respectively. Thus, the LSI maps developed by all the models had similar accuracy. A cross-tabulation analysis of landslide occurrence against non-occurrence areas showed generally similar overall accuracies of 65.27, 64.35, 65.51, and 68.47 % for the FR, AHP, LR, and ANN models, respectively. A correlation analysis between the models demonstrated that the LR and ANN models had the highest correlation (0.829), whereas the FR and AHP models had the lowest correlation (0.619).  相似文献

Abstract: The black shales of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation in Weng’an, on the Yangtze platform of south China, contain voluminous polymetallic sulfide deposits. A comprehensive geochemical investigation of trace, rare earth, and platinum group elements (PGE) has been undertaken in order to discuss its ore genesis and correlation with the tectono-depositional setting. The ore-bearing layers enrich molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), vanadium (V), lead (Pb), strontium (Sr), barium (Ba) , uranium (U) , arsenic (As), and rare earth elements (REE) in abundance. High uranium/thorium (U/Th) ratios (U/Th>1) indicated that mineralization was mainly influenced by the hydrothermal process. The dU value was above 1.9, showing a reducing sedimentary condition. The REE patterns showed high enrichment in light rare earth elements (LREE) (heavy rare earth elements (HREE) (LREE/HREE=5–17), slightly negative europium (Eu) and cerium (Ce) anomalies (dEu=0.81–0.93), and positive Ce anomalies (dCe=0.76–1.12). PGE abundance was characterized by the PGE-type distribution patterns, enriching platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), ruthenium (Ru) and osmium (Os). The Pt/Pd ratio was 0.8, which is close to the ratios of seawater and ultramafic rocks. All of these geochemical features suggest that the mineralization was triggered by hydrothermal activity in an extensional setting in the context of break-up of the Rodinian supercontinent.  相似文献
