Nonlinear waves in a building with bi-linear constitutive law are described for excitation by vertically propagating S-wave pulses. Conditions that lead to the nonlinear deformation are described in terms of dimensionless amplitudes and wavelengths of these pulses. It is shown that a building can fail during the first passage of the incident wave (during a time shorter than the travel time from the bottom to the top of the building). Peak amplitudes of (1) transient strains, (2) permanent strains, and (3) the peak ductility in the building are described in terms of (a) the amplitudes of incident pulses and (b) the places where the pulses occur in the building.  相似文献

The dynamic behaviour of a four-storeyed masonry building model subjected to simulated earthquake loading has been investigated. The observations of damage propagation during shaking tests indicated the storey mechanism action of model building. Since the predominant effect of the first natural mode of vibrations has been also observed, the idea of simple mathematical modelling has been followed in the calculations. Two simple analytical models have been compared when evaluating the dynamic response of the model building: a four degrees of freedom shear system and an equivalent single degree of freedom system. Three hysteresis rules have been taken into account for modelling the non-linear behaviour of the model. Satisfactory correlation between the measured and calculated response has been obtained in most cases.  相似文献

Ambient vibration tests were conducted on a base-isolated apartment building in Takamatsu, Japan, to determine the mode shapes and the associated natural frequencies and damping ratios at very low levels of excitation. The latest developments in signal analysis for modal decomposition are used to analyze the ambient response data. A finite element model of the building and isolators was calibrated and refined using the experimental results from the ambient vibration tests. This model was then used to simulate the recorded response of the building under excitation from a small earthquake. The finite element model, calibrated by ambient vibration data and the low level of earthquake shaking, provides the starting point for modelling the non-linear response of the building when subjected to strong shaking.  相似文献

结构在近场地震动作用下的反应和远场地震动作用下的明显不同,这主要是由近场地震动高能量的速度脉冲等特征决定的。通过对110条近场地震动记录的分析.得到了相应的弹性反应谱,并通过对近场地震动和远场地震动作用下结构塑性分析进行对比.得到了以下结论:近场地震动作用下结构的弹性反应谱与规范谱明显不同,尤其在长周期阶段,表明规范谱值偏小;近场地震动作用对结构提出了更高的强度和变形需求。  相似文献

This paper presents the results from shaking table tests of a one-tenth-scale reinforced concrete (RC) building model. The test model is a protype of a building that was seriously damaged during the 1985 Mexico earthquake. The input ground excitation used during the test was from the records obtained near the site of the prototype building during the 1985 and 1995 Mexico earthquakes. The tests showed that the damage pattern of the test model agreed well with that of the prototype building. Analytical prediction of earthquake response has been conducted for the prototype building using a sophisticated 3-D frame model. The input motion used for the dynamic analysis was the shaking table test measurements with similarity transformation. The comparison of the analytical results and the shaking table test results indicates that the response of the RC building to minor and the moderate earthquakes can be predicated well. However, there is difference between the predication and the actual response to the major earthquake.  相似文献

The problem on the dynamic response of a rigid embedded foundation in the presence of an underground rigid tunnel and subjected to excitation of incident anti-plane SH waves is analyzed. By using the exact analytical solution for the two-dimensional SH-wave propagation in and around both the surface rigid foundation and subsurface rigid tunnel, those aspects of the resulting ground motions that are of special interest and importance for seismic resistant design in earthquake analyses have been examined. The computed amplitudes of the resulting periodic ground motions display a very complicated wave-interference between the surface foundation and underground tunnel that lead to observed standing wave patterns, together with abrupt changes in the wave amplitudes and large amplification of the incident motions. 基于饱和两相介质弹性波动方程分析SV波在饱和土体自由表面的反射问题,引入波动方程的势函数解答,求解出二维问题中SV波入射情况下饱和土体自由场的位移、速度、加速度和应力响应。在饱和土体自由场响应解析解基础上,建立SV波入射下饱和土体自由场静、动力有限元模型。建模中考虑了如下几方面因素:(1)在不同分析步,对土体单元赋予不同材料本构。通过*model change命令进行单元生死设定,从而实现在初始应力场平衡的静力状态下采用DuncanChang本构模型,而地震波动输入时采用Davidenkov动力本构模型;(2)采用多孔介质黏弹性人工边界条件,在人工边界上分别施加固相和液相介质的弹簧和阻尼来模拟饱和土体中能量的传播;(3)将地震波转化为作用在人工边界上的等效地震荷载,施加到人工边界节点上;(4)土体单元采用4结点平面应变孔压单元(CPE4P)。有限元计算与解析解比较结果表明:SV波在垂直入射和掠入射时,竖向位移响应为零;在45°左右入射时,水平位移响应最大;60°左右入射时,竖向位移响应最大。这些结论与解析解吻合较好,本文模型为建立土-结构动力相互作用模型打下良好的基础。  相似文献

A plasticity based constitutive model for anisotropic behaviour of soils is implemented in a finite element procedure based on the generalized Biot theory for the dynamic non-linear response of porous materials. The model represents a version in the hierarchical approach of constitutive modelling and allows for inelastic response during loading, unloading and reloading. The procedure has been verified previously with respect to closed-form solutions for wave propagation in porous media. In this paper, it is used to predict the behaviour of a realistic structure-saturated porous soil system subjected to earthquake loading. Both linear and non-linear analyses have been performed. It has been found that the predicted responses from the two analyses are significantly different; for example, in comparison with the linear analysis the non-linear response shows increased magnitudes and zones of concentration of pore water pressures, increased magnitudes of horizontal displacements, decreased magnitudes of vertical displacements and increased magnitudes of shear stresses.  相似文献

Near-fault records of the 1971 San Fernando earthquake contain severe, long duration acceleration pulses which result in unusually large ground velocity increments. A review of these records along with the results of available theoretical studies of near-fault ground motions indicates that such acceleration pulses may be characteristic of near-fault sites in general. The results of an analytical study of a building severely damaged during the San Fernando earthquake indicate that such severe, long duration acceleration pulses were the cause of the main features of the observed structural damage. The implications of such pulses on current aseismic design methods, particularly those used to establish design earthquakes, are examined for buildings located near potential earthquake faults. Analytical studies of the non-linear dynamic response of single and multiple degree-of-freedom systems to several near-fault records, as well as to a more standard accelerogram, indicate that at near-fault sites: (a) very large displacement ductilities may result for current levels of code design forces; (b) smoothed elastic design response spectra should reflect the larger ground velocities that may occur; and (c) peak inelastic response cannot reliably be inferred from elastic response predictions.  相似文献

The classical problem of rocking of a rigid, free-standing block to earthquake ground shaking containing distinct pulses, as is the case of near-fault earthquake motions, is revisited. A rectangular block resting on a rigid base is considered, subjected to a range of idealized single-lobe ground acceleration pulses expressed by a generalized function controlled by a single shape parameter. The problem is treated analytically in the realm of the linearized equations of motion under the assumption of slender block geometry and rocking without slipping. Peak rocking response and overturning criteria for different waveforms are presented in terms of dimensionless closed-form expressions and graphs. Two parameters are employed to this end: dimensionless pulse duration f (i.e., actual pulse duration times characteristic block frequency) and dimensionless uplift strength η (i.e., ratio of minimum required acceleration for initiation of uplift over peak pulse acceleration). The linearized response is compared analytically with the fully non-linear one using an ad hoc energy formulation leading to an approximate closed-form solution. It is shown that the non-linear equations of motion yield more stable response than their linearized counterparts. A brief discussion on scaling laws is provided.  相似文献

The 1999 Chi-Chi, Taiwan earthquake, MW = 7.6, caused severe damage in the near-fault region of the earthquake. In order to evaluate site effects in the near-field strong motions we estimate S-wave velocity structures of sediments at four sites using array records of microtremors. We also recalculated S-wave velocity structures at other four sites previously reported. To show the validity of the estimated S-wave velocity structures we separate empirical site responses from aftershock records using the generalized inversion method and show the agreement between empirical and theoretical site responses. We also show an observed fact that suggests soil nonlinearity during the Chi-Chi earthquake by comparing horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratios (HVRs) for main shock records with HVRs for aftershock records. Then we calculate one-dimensional equivalent-linear site responses using the estimated S-wave velocity structures and the main shock records observed on the surface. It is found that site amplification due to thick (about 6 km) sediments is one of the important factors for explaining the long-period velocity pulses of about 5 to 10 sec observed at sites in the footwall during the Chi-Chi earthquake. It is also found that the theoretical site responses of shallow soft sediments at sites that sustained severe damage in the hanging wall shows significant amplification around 1 sec. As the amplitude of velocity pulses with period around 1 sec is most critical in causing damage to ordinary buildings of moderate heights, our results suggest that the 1-sec period velocity pulses, amplified by the site response of shallow sediments should contribute to the severe damage during the Chi-Chi earthquake.  相似文献

本文对建筑结构抗震设计时程法所需的输入地震波提出一种基于规范反应谱的、与设防烈度、场地条件、设计近震或远震、结构自振特性有关的选择原则和方法。按远、近震和四类场地标定了反应谱、延性谱和积累损伤谱。通过对六幢不同高度的剪切和弯曲型结构模型的弹塑性分析,表明离差很小。建议在进行结构时程法分析时,按地震加速度反应谱特定的分布规律选择4条加速度记录作为输入计算。两个实际的例子表明按上述方法计算的结果与按底部剪力法计算的结果基本相符。  相似文献

根据我国台湾地区西部的地质地貌特征和1999年集集MW7.6地震的震源参数,建立了三维速度结构模型和两类震源模型。基于地壳中断层的位错积累量和岩石破裂后应力应变的传播特性,采用三维有限差分法对双冬断层活动可能产生的近场脉冲型地震动进行了模拟研究。结果表明:走滑断层垂直于断层走向的水平分量和逆断层垂直分量的峰值速度较大;由方向性效应所产生的双向速度脉冲主要集中在垂直于断层滑动分量方向,而由滑冲效应所产生的单向速度脉冲则主要集中在平行于断层滑动分量的方向;受方向性效应和上盘效应的共同制约,近场脉冲型地震动呈不对称带状分布,速度脉冲多分布在距离走滑断层迹线15 km和逆断层迹线10 km的范围内;速度反应谱在断层面的覆盖范围内沿破裂方向逐渐增大,且速度脉冲可能会对大型建筑物产生严重的剪切破坏。受凹凸体特性的影响,地震波场显示南投、台中和苗栗处于强地震动危险区。   相似文献

采用SAP程序中的Link单元进行了密肋壁板结构非线性时程反应分析。推导了Link单元的刚度矩阵,确定了相对转动中心高度。并结合钢筋混凝土柱轴向恢复力模型和密肋复合墙体水平抗侧恢复力模型,给出了Link单元竖向和水平连接弹簧非线性力-位移关系的计算公式。采用Link单元建立了密肋壁板结构宏观有限元分析模型,并对1/10比例振动台模型试验进行了非线性时程反应分析。结果表明:计算结果与试验结果吻合良好,这说明采用Link单元可以较好的模拟密肋壁板结构的动力非线性行为。  相似文献

震害资料显示,场地条件对地震动特性以及工程结构破坏程度影响显著。为减少因场地效应而造成的经济损失和社会影响,在进行场地地震反应分析时,需最大限度地减小因场地土层模型参数的不确定性引起的地震动评估偏差,为工程结构地震反应分析选取并生成适当的地震动输入。随着强震动观测技术的逐渐发展,大量可靠的钻井台阵记录为地震过程中场地观测点的动力反应提供了直接数据。以美国加州地区La Cienega钻井台阵强震动观测数据为基础,利用互相关函数,对不同强度地震作用下场地土层的平均剪切波速进行分析,并在此基础上,以Cyclic 1D为模拟平台,建立一维自由场地地震反应有限元分析模型。分析结果表明:通过钻井台阵地震动观测数据识别,得到场地平均剪切波速,能够反映该场地的动力特性,数值模拟计算结果和台阵地震动记录基本吻合,可为数值模型参数选取提供依据。  相似文献

Due to the presence of joints, waves are greatly attenuated when propagating across rock masses. Zhu et al. (2011) (Normally incident wave propagation across a joint set with virtual wave source method. J. Appl. Geophys.73, 283–288.) studied normally incident wave propagation across a joint set with the virtual wave source method (VWSM). The introduced VWSM has merits in some aspects, especially the capability of separating differently arriving transmitted waves. However, normal wave incidence is only the special case for wave incidence with arbitrary incident angles. Obliquely incident wave propagation across a joint set is more complicated than normally incident wave propagation due to wave transformation at the joints. As a continuation of the previous paper, this work is extended to analytically study obliquely incident wave propagation across joints with VWSM. Complete theoretical reflection and transmission coefficients across single joint described by displacement discontinuity model are derived through plane wave analysis. The superposition of P wave and S wave is for the first time mathematically expressed and studied. The VWSM is verified through comparison with the propagation matrix method. Through extensive parametric studies on wave transmission across single and multiple parallel joints, it is shown that transmitted wave energy is mainly constrained in the transmitted wave of the same type as the incident wave. And with increasing joint stiffness, the transmission coefficients across single joint increases except those whose wave type is different from the incident wave. The amplitude of superposed transmitted wave for P wave incidence increases with incident angle, which is coincident with field observations. Both joint spacing and number of joints have significant effects on transmission coefficients. We find that when joint spacing is sufficiently large, the transmission coefficient is no longer a constant as the normally incident wave propagation case (Zhu et al., 2011). And when joints are very closely spaced, wave attenuation depends little on the number of joints, which is different from the conclusions from equivalent medium method.  相似文献

Base isolated structures have been found to be at risk in near-fault regions as a result of long period pulses that may exist in near-source ground motions.Various control strategies,including passive,active and semi-active control systems,have been investigated to overcome this problem.This study focuses on the development of a semi-active control algorithm based on several performance levels anticipated from an isolated building during different levels of ground shaking corresponding to various earthquake hazard levels.The proposed performance-based algorithm is based on a modified version of the well-known semi-active skyhook control algorithm.The proposed control algorithm changes the control gain depending on the level of shaking imposed on the structure.The proposed control system has been evaluated using a series of analyses performed on a base isolated benchmark building subjected to seven pairs of scaled ground motion records.Simulation results show that the newly proposed algorithm is effective in improving the structural and nonstructural performance of the building for selected earthquakes.  相似文献

Tsunamis waves caused by submarine earthquake or landslide might contain large wave energy, which could cause significant human loss and property damage locally as well as in distant region. The response of three harbors located at the Pacific coast (i.e. Crescent City Harbor, Los Angeles/Long Beach Port, and San Diego Harbor) to six well-known tsunamis events generated (both near-field and far-field) between 2005 and 2011 are examined and simulated using a hybrid finite element numerical model in frequency domain. The model incorporated the effects of wave refraction, wave diffraction, partial wave reflection from boundaries, entrance and bottom energy dissipation. It can be applied to harbor regions with arbitrary shapes and variable water depth. The computed resonant periods or modes of oscillation for three harbors are in good agreement with the energy spectral analysis of the time series of water surface elevations recorded at tide gauge stations inside three harbors during the six tsunamis events. The computed wave induced currents based on the present model are also in qualitative agreement with some of the reported eye-witness accounts absence of reliable current data. The simulated results show that each harbor responded differently and significantly amplified certain wave period(s) of incident wave trains according to the shape, topography, characteristic dimensions and water depth of the harbor basins.  相似文献
