In this work, we investigate the correlation between some magnetic parameters and the level of contamination by heavy metals in urban soils from Morelia city, western Mexico. The magnetic study was carried out on 98 urban soils samples belonging to distinct land uses. Most of analyzed samples contain ferrimagnetic minerals as the responsible for magnetization, most probably corresponding to the titanomagnetites/ titanomaghemites solid solutions. This is inferred from the susceptibility vs. temperature measurements and the isothermal remanent magnetization (IRM) experiments. These measurements also indicate that most of samples are almost completely saturated before 300 mT. Additionally, the S-200 values (S-200 = IRM-200/ SIRM, where IRM-200= Back-field of 200 mT after magnetic saturation) are between 0.7 and 1.0, characteristic of low coercivity magnetic minerals. The averaged saturation isothermal remanent magnetization (SIRM) curves can be used as an indicator of pollution level, as these curves show different saturation values according to the level of contamination by heavy metals: Cu, Ni, Cr and Sr. These associations of (titano)magnetite with heavy metals were observed by Scanning Electron Microscope revealing some complex aggregates rather than commonly detected spherules.  相似文献

Frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility, its anisotropy (AMS), its temperature variation, natural remanent magnetization and time-dependent isothermal remanent magnetization as well as M?ssbauer spectroscopy of a small collection of Celtic and Mediaeval graphitic pottery from Southern Bohemia were investigated. The mineral composition of the pottery is dominated by fragments of quartz, accompanied mainly by various silicates from granitoids and paragneisses, or by calcite, within the plastic component being probably illite but also graphite. No ferrimagnetic minerals were found in optical microscope, among Fe-oxides only limonite was observed, even though the bulk susceptibility of the pottery varies in the orders of 10?4 to 10?2 [SI]. This may indicate presence of ferromagnetic particles in the ultrafine (superparamagnetic, SP) state, which is confirmed by frequency-dependent susceptibility ranging from 3% to almost 16%. The low temperature susceptibility vs. temperature curves are only moderately sloped, showing the Verwey transition only in one case. The high temperature curves mostly show presence of two magnetic phases, maghemite and magnetite. Cooling curves show distinctly lower susceptibilities than the heating curves indicating instability of the assemblage of ferrimagnetic minerals, particularly in temperatures slightly under 700 °C. M?ssbauer spectroscopy confirmed the results of the frequency-dependent susceptibility, showing the increase of ferrimagnetic sextets in the spectra measured at 4.2K, likely indicating maghemite as the distinct ferrimagnetic phase. The frequency-dependent AMS indicates preferred orientation of SP1,16 particles, coaxiality between SP1,16 grain AMS and whole specimen AMS indicate that all grains, ultrafine and coarser ones, were oriented by the same process, i.e. copying the pottery structure created during wheel-turning.  相似文献

对杭州城区四个不同功能区块土壤进行了系统的环境磁学测定,结果表明城市土壤的磁化率平均值为128×10-8m3·kg-1,频率磁化率平均值3.6%(样品数=182),城市土壤呈现明显的磁性增强. 城市土壤的磁化率与频率磁化率呈极显著指数负相关,表明城市土壤磁性增强明显区别于自然成土过程引起的以超顺磁性(SP)颗粒为主的表土磁性增强机理. 统计分析表明,城市土壤磁化率与软剩磁和饱和等温剩磁(SIRM)呈显著直线正相关,说明亚铁磁性矿物是城市土壤剩余磁性的主要载体. 综合等温剩磁获得曲线、热磁曲线、磁滞回线等岩石磁学测定和SEM/EDX分析,城市土壤的磁性矿物以磁铁矿和赤铁矿为主,磁性矿物以假单畴-多畴(PSD-MD)颗粒存在,粒度明显大于成土过程形成的磁性颗粒,这些磁性颗粒主要来自燃料燃烧、汽车尾气等环境污染物. 因此,城市土壤磁测可作为城市土壤污染监测、污染空间分布和污染物来源判断的新手段.  相似文献

Systematic magnetic and crystallographic studies were made on 57 titanomaghemite samples produced from sintered titanomagnetites with x values of 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0. Curie temperature and lattice parameter values are often significantly different from results of previous studies (Ozima and Sakamoto, 1971; Readman and O'Reilly, 1972; Nishitani, 1979), particularly for x values of 0.4 and 0.6. Other important results are: (1) Oxidation of titanomagnetite is mainly a function of temperature. Atmosphere and Ti content have little influence. (2) Progressive oxidation of homogeneous titanomaghemites can take place in the presence of a rhombohedral phase. The amount of rhombohedral phase produced during oxidation increases with increasing temperature and (less conclusively) with decreasing Ti content. (3) Saturation magnetization measurements at low temperatures show both P- and Q-type ferrimagnetic behavior in titanomaghemites, and also show the Verwey (?) transition in titanomaghemites with composition x=0.0. (4) The temperature of spinel inversion increases with degree of oxidation. Slightly oxidized samples invert near 300°C; for samples with z > 0.8 the inversion temperature is above 450°C. This last result, although neither expected nor understood, is supported by results of thermomagnetic studies on some oceanic basalts.  相似文献

对福建三明某钢铁厂和火电厂附近的污染表土样品进行了多参数的岩石磁学测试分析,包括χ T曲线、磁滞回线、等温剩磁获得曲线等. 三明地区污染表土中的磁性矿物有磁铁矿、赤铁矿和磁黄铁矿. 样品中磁性矿物的平均粒度较粗,为较大的准单畴,甚至多畴,粒度明显大于成土作用所产生的磁性颗粒. 粗粒的磁铁矿颗粒是污染物的主要磁性组分. 虽然磁化率测量可以作为一种简单、快速而且廉价的检测污染土壤的方法,但同时辅以必要的岩石磁学测量将有利于提取更多的污染信息. 对于低磁化率的污染土壤,亚铁磁性硫化物的存在可以作为土壤可能被污染的证据之一.  相似文献

Measurements of magnetic susceptibility (χ) and saturation isothermal remanent magnetization (SIRM) on both filtered particulates and sediment samples provide a cheap, rapid and non-destructive method of particulate pollution monitoring in marine environments where ferrimagnetic iron oxides are important components of the discharge from industrial or urban complexes. The value of this approach is illustrated by reference to results obtained from the Elefsis Gulf, Greece, where the major source of particulate metal pollution is an iron and steel works discharging waste into a settling lagoon connected to the waters of the Gulf.  相似文献

对苏北盆地兴化1#钻孔岩心沉积物进行了质量磁化率、频率磁化率、变化曲线、等温剩磁和磁滞回线等参数的测试分析,结果表明,粘土质沉积物中的主要载磁矿物为磁铁矿和赤铁矿;砂质沉积物中的磁性矿物除了磁铁矿和赤铁矿外,还含有少量的磁赤铁矿和针铁矿.针铁矿普遍存在于钻孔下部的样品中.整个钻孔沉积物中的磁性矿物颗粒都是介于单畴和多畴之间的准单畴颗粒,但粘土质沉积物中的磁性矿物颗粒更趋近于单畴颗粒,而砂质沉积物中的磁性矿物颗粒更趋近于多畴.根据不同的磁性矿物组合特征,选择合理的温度和磁场强度区间对古地磁退磁结果进行分析,得到沉积物可靠的特征剩磁方向,为古地磁年代学提供依据.  相似文献

通过55个亚热带富铁土的磁化率(χ)、频率磁化率(χfd)、非滞后剩磁(ARM)和饱 和等温剩磁(SIRM)等磁性参数测定,结合氧化铁化学形态分析和矿物鉴定,初步明确了亚热 带富铁土的磁学特征及其磁性矿物.磁测数据表明富铁土中存在强磁性的矿物,其磁化率χ 与土壤游离氧化铁(Fe)含量呈极显著指数正相关(R=0.5971),频率磁化率χfd与土壤游离氧 化铁含量呈极显著直线正相关(R=0.4289).富铁土的χfd和非滞后磁化率χARM。值表明土壤 中的磁性矿物以超顺磁性(SP)和稳定单畴(SSD)颗粒为主,富铁上的χ和χARM呈极显著直线 正相关(R 0.9429),证明富铁土的磁性是由风化成土过程产生的 SP和 SSD磁性颗粒贡献 的.矿物磁测结合X-衍射证明富铁土中的氧化铁矿物由赤铁矿、磁赤铁矿和针铁矿组成。  相似文献

Rock-magnetic investigations of environmental samples, such as soils, dust and leaves, can provide useful information on environmental stress. Aim of this paper is to report on the first magnetic survey carried out on environmental samples from Bogotá, Colombia, which is the fifth most populated city of Latin America. We studied three kinds of samples in order to evaluate their potential as pollution markers: soils, urban dust and leaves of the Sauco (Sambucus nigra) tree. Standard magnetic methods were used to analyze the three groups of samples, with special emphasis on leaves investigated here for the first time for environmental purposes. Samples were collected along two perpendicular transects in an area of the city presumably unpolluted, with two different systems of public transportation. Thermomagnetic curves obtained from soils and atmospheric dust show clearly defined ferrimagnetic phase (probably magnetite) as the main magnetic carrier. Curves of acquisition of isothermal remanent magnetization confirm the ferrimagnetic character of magnetic particles. Frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility was found between 0 and 10%, suggesting less-important contribution of ultrafine super-paramagnetic magnetite. The apparent contradictory results between soils and the rest of samples may reflect different accumulation period for magnetic particles, being shorter for leaves and urban dust than for soils.  相似文献

本文对密云水库表层沉积物中的磁性矿物进行了岩石磁学和透射电子显微学的综合研究.本实验建立的磁选方法实现将70%~85%左右的磁性矿物从沉积物中分离出来.岩石磁学研究表明,密云水库沉积物中的磁性矿物以多畴和单畴磁铁矿为主,还含有少量高矫顽力弱磁性载磁矿物(可能为赤铁矿).对磁选矿物的透射电镜观测表明,样品中部分单畴磁铁矿具有纳米尺寸和化学纯度高等特点,为拉长的立方-八面体磁铁矿,是趋磁细菌产生的化石磁小体;多畴磁铁矿多数具有微米尺寸,形状不规则,为碎屑成因;超顺磁磁铁矿粒径约为5~20nm,且含硅、铝等元素,可能为自生成因.研究结果表明,岩石磁学和透射电子显微学的综合应用可以更全面、准确地分析沉积物中磁性矿物的成分、含量、粒径和化学成分等信息,为环境磁学、生物地磁学和古地磁学研究提供依据.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to studying the mineral composition and magnetic properties, mainly at the cryogenic temperatures, of the Middle–Late Devonian basalts from North Timan. The magnetic minerals in these basalts are dominated by intermediate-composition titanomagnetites (TM25–TM30) which demonstrate unusual magnetic properties in a wide temperature range. At room temperature, a low coercive force coexists with relatively high Mrs/Ms ratios. At cryogenic temperatures, the dependences of magnetic susceptibility on the temperature and frequency of the applied field are characteristic of this titanomagnetite composition, whereas the remanent saturation magnetization acquired at 2 K is destroyed at significantly lower temperatures compared to the synthetic analogs. The obtained results again highlight the necessity of studying the low-temperature properties of titanomagnetite samples with a controlled composition and grain size.  相似文献

The rock magnetic properties of the samples of dredged rocks composing the submarine volcanic edifices within the Sea-of-Okhotsk slope of the northern part of the Kuril Island Arc are studied. The measurements of the standard rock magnetic parameters, thermomagnetic analysis, petrographical studies, and microprobe investigations have been carried out. The magnetization of the studied rocks is mainly carried by the pseudo-single domain and multidomain titanomagnetite and low-Ti titanomagnetite grains. The high values of the natural remanent magnetization are due to the pseudo-single-domain structure of the titanomagnetite grains, whereas the high values of magnetic susceptibility are associated with the high concentration of ferrimagnetic grains. The highest Curie points are observed in the titanomagnetite grains of the igneous rocks composing the edifices of the Smirnov, Edelshtein, and 1.4 submarine volcanoes.  相似文献

我国西北地区出露大量富含哺乳动物化石的"第三纪红层",探明这些地层的岩石磁学特征对进一步开展磁性地层、环境磁学和古气候学研究具有重要意义.本文对青藏高原东北缘兰州盆地渐新世地层进行了详细的岩石磁学研究,分别确定了咸水河组下部砂岩和泥岩中磁性矿物含量、种类及其在加热过程中的转变;并结合X射线衍射,漫反射光谱和粒度分析等非磁学手段,揭示了磁性矿物种类与沉积环境的关系.结果表明,剖面底部和顶部的砂岩为河道沉积,磁性矿物含量较低,主要为高矫顽力的赤铁矿和针铁矿;中部泥岩为湖相沉积,指示了一个相对稳定的静水沉积环境,其磁性矿物含量比砂岩要高,不仅含有高矫顽力的赤铁矿和针铁矿,也含有低矫顽力的磁铁矿.在岩石磁学和环境磁学结果的基础上,结合野外考察和古生物证据,我们推测兰州盆地在晚渐新世为半湿润半干旱的气候条件,这为赤铁矿的生成提供了有利条件,导致盆地中富含赤铁矿的红色泥岩广泛发育.  相似文献

We carried out a combined thermal and magnetic evaluation on experimentally knapped clasts of different lithologies (chert, quartzite, limestone, sandstone and obsidian) heated under controlled field and temperature conditions. The main aim of this study is to estimate the feasibility of use of these raw materials, which are commonly found in prehistoric archaeological sites for archaeomagnetic purposes. Rock magnetic analysis included measurements of low-field magnetic susceptibility, isothermal remanent magnetisation (IRM) acquisition curves, hysteresis loops and thermomagnetic curves of lithic clasts both before and after experimental heating. All lithologies, except the obsidian, recorded an increase of up two orders of magnitude in their magnetic concentration-dependent parameters revealing the formation of new ferrimagnetic minerals. Obsidian and sandstone are the most reliable magnetic carriers, followed by limestone, chert and quartzite. Magnetic susceptibility values show significant differences among lithologies. Isothermal remanent magnetisation proved also to be highly discriminatory as well as the room temperature hysteresis parameters. The main macroscopic alterations resulted in colour changes, rubefactions, potlids in cherts and the massive formation of internal fissures in obsidian specimens. The multispecimen palaeointensity technique was applied on selected samples yielding satisfactory results for heated obsidian and sandstone samples. The archaeological applicability of the results is discussed as well as their geomagnetic significance.  相似文献

Summary Rock-magnetic characteristics of late Pleistocene loess-paleosol sequences in the Czech Republic show patterns of variation that reflect climate-related depositional and diagenetic processes which acted on the sedimentary profiles. Mass-normalized magnetic susceptibility is high in interglacial and interstadial paleosols, while uniformly low values are measured in unweathered loess horizons. Normalized ferrimagnetic susceptibility and anhysteretic remanent magnetization show an enhancement of ultrafine (superparamagnetic, SP) and fine (single-domain, SD, and pseudo-single-domain, PSD) grains in chernozem paleosols correlated with δ18O substages 5c and 5a as well as in the Holocene soil. The parabraunerde paleosol associated with peak interglacial conditions, correlated with δ18O substage 5e, shows evidence of diagenetic loss of fine grained magnetic minerals, although coarse (multidomain, MD) grains appear to be preserved. Low temperature remanence behavior plus high temperature susceptibility measurements of representative samples from each lithologic unit indicate that magnetite and maghemite are the dominant magnetic minerals within the sediments. Variations in concentration-independent rock-magnetic parameters are therefore primarily a function of grain size variations through the profile. It is anticipated that with additional magnetic and non-magnetic sedimentological and geochemical tests, a quantitative rock-magnetic — paleoclimate model can be developed for the central European loess region.  相似文献

The results of the experimental studies on creating chemical and partial thermal remanent magnetizations (or their combination), which are imparted at the initial stage of the laboratory process of the oxidation of primary magmatic titanomagnetites (Tmts) contained in the rock, are presented. For creating chemical remanent magnetization, the samples of recently erupted Kamchatka basalts were subjected to 200-h annealing in air in the temperature interval from 400 to 500°С under the action of the magnetic field on the order of the Earth’s magnetic field. After creation of this magnetization, the laboratory modeling of the Thellier–Coe and Wilson–Burakov paleointensity determination procedures was conducted on these samples. It is shown that when the primary magnetization is chemical, created at the initial stage of oxidation, and the paleointensity determined by these techniques is underestimated by 15–20% relative to its true values.  相似文献

This paper reports on magnetic and magnetomineralogical studies of soils influenced by ironworks activity. Researches were conducted in five areas, of which Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski ironworks area is described in detail. A map of magnetic susceptibility was created based on field measurements and samples taken from soil profile were analyzed in laboratory. Measurements of magnetic susceptibility in two frequency ranges, anhysteretic remanent magnetization, isothermal remanent magnetization thermomagnetic and geochemical analysis were carried out. SEM was used to identify ferromagnetic fractions. As a result the horizontal and vertical extent of heavy metals pollution was established.  相似文献

在沙漠沉积环境中,成土作用对磁化率的贡献较小,往往被原生磁信号掩盖,因此分离两种磁组分对气候和粉尘代用指标的提取至关重要.本研究选取位于毛乌素沙地东缘的锦界风沙沉积剖面为研究对象,利用多变量一元线性回归中的"平均值概念"进行磁化率的原生碎屑组分0和次生成土组分Xpedo的分离,并探讨磁学参数所承载的气候和环境意义.结果显示,磁学比值参数(如Xpedo/X0、Xfd/HIRM、Xfd%和XARM/SIRM)彼此之间存在显著线性或指数/对数相关关系,它们对成土强度指示明确,可以在一定程度上减小或避免磁性矿物背景值差异所产生的误差,与磁化率相比更适宜用于该区的古降水量重建.HIRM主要由碎屑赤铁矿含量控制,HIRM与X0存在明显正相关关系,表明碎屑赤铁矿随原生磁性矿物总体含量的增加(减少)而增加(减少),在粉尘成因磁性矿物中所占比例大致稳定,从而HIRM可以指示源区粉尘通量的变化.锦界剖面的原生和次生磁性矿物浓度均明显低于黄土高原黄土,不同地层X0和Xpedo在磁化率中所占的比例存在较大差异,因此磁化率的环境意义比较复杂,在使用其恢复古气候古环境时需慎重.  相似文献
