In-situ sodar and lidar measurements were coupled with numerical simulations for studying a sea-breeze event in a flat coastal area of the North Sea. The study’s aims included the recognition of the dynamics of a sea-breeze structure, and its effects on the lower troposphere stratification and the three-dimensional (3D) pollutant distribution. A sea breeze was observed with ground-based remote sensing instruments and analysed by means of numerical simulations using the 3D non-hydrostatic atmospheric model Meso-NH. The vertical structure of the lower troposphere was experimentally determined from the lidar and sodar measurements, while numerical simulations focused on the propagation of the sea breeze inland. The sea-breeze front, the headwind, the thermal internal boundary layer, the gravity current and the sea-breeze circulation were observed and analysed. The development of a late stratification was also observed by the lidar and simulated by the model, suggesting the formation of a stable multilayered structure. The transport of passive tracers inside the sea breeze and their redistribution above the gravity current was simulated too. Numerical modelling showed that local pollutants may travel backward to the sea above the gravity current at relatively low speed due to the shearing between the landward gravity current and the seaward synoptic wind. Such dynamic conditions may enhance an accumulation of pollutants above coastal industrial areas.  相似文献

Results on the structure of the convective atmospheric boundary layer based on the analyses of data from the instrumented NSSL-KTVY tower, airborne Doppler lidar, and ground-based Doppler radars are presented. The vertically averaged wind over the boundary layer was found to be insensitive to baroclinicity, supporting the hypothesis of Arya and Wyngaard (1975). The computed momentum flux profiles were affected by baroclinicity. Horizontal wind spectra from lidar, radar, and tower data compared well with each other both in shape and magnitude. A consistent peak found near 4 km in all the computed spectra might have been caused by horizontally symmetric cells with horizontal wavelength 4 times the boundary-layer height as shown in Kuettner (1971) for the case of weak wind shear.  相似文献

In this study the results from a boundary layer experiment,conducted in autumn 1991 over a flat,build-up urbanarea in Southeast Sofia,together with some models for mixed layer growth rates are used to investigate the layered struc-ture of the vertical atmospheric stability distribution in the Sofia Valley.Lidar measurements of aerosol layer heightsand morning boundary layer development are combined with surface eddy correlation measurements of kinematic heatand moisture fluxes,profiles of temperature and humidity,wind speed and wind direction.A diagnostic method is pres-ented for determining vertical lapse rates using surface meteorological measurements and lidar returns observed duringthe transition from nighttime stable stratification to daytime convective boundary layer after the sunrise.  相似文献

采用2013年中国科学院大气物理研究所香河大气综合观测试验站的地基微波辐射计和激光雷达观测数据,以激光雷达探测的大气边界层高度为参考,分别利用非线性神经网络和多元线性回归方法建立微波亮温直接反演大气边界层高度的算法,并对比两种方法的反演能力, 同时分析非线性神经网络算法在不同时段及不同天气状况下反演结果的差异。结果表明:非线性神经网络算法的反演能力优于多元线性回归算法,其反演结果与激光雷达探测的大气边界层高度有较好一致性,冬、春季的相关系数达到0.83,反演精度比线性回归算法约高26%;对于不同时段和不同天气条件,春季的反演结果最好,晴空的反演结果好于云天; 四季和不同天气状况的划分也有利于提高反演精度。  相似文献

近地面臭氧是空气中氮氧化物和挥发性有机物发生光化学反应的产物,其浓度与气象条件密切相关。晴天少云、紫外辐射较强、温度较高、相对湿度较低以及风速较小的天气,均有利于臭氧的生成,其中紫外辐射是产生臭氧最关键的因素。臭氧前体物(氮氧化物和挥发性有机物)的浓度及其比值是影响近地面臭氧浓度的另外三个重要因素。我国大多数城市的O3处于VOC控制区,即NOx浓度的增加会引起O3浓度的降低,而VOCs浓度的增加则会使其浓度升高。因而VOC源解析问题成为近年来O3研究的一个热点问题。同时,由于气溶胶可以直接吸收、散射太阳紫外辐射、短波辐射以及大气长波辐射,因此气溶胶的存在会影响大气中光化学反应的进程,从而影响臭氧的光化学生成,气溶胶对近地面臭氧的影响已成为目前大气环境的前沿课题。  相似文献

风速剖面是各类工程结构抗风设计的关键参数。为了准确估算近海各类工程建筑结构承受的风荷载作用,通过在对数风剖面中引入大气稳定度函数和拖曳系数来刻画大气层结和海气交换作用对近海风速剖面的影响并建立相应的模型,最后利用强台风“黑格比”(0814号)的实测数据对模型进行了验证。研究结果表明:大气层结和海气交换作用对台风“黑格比”风速剖面有一定的影响,考虑大气层结和海气交换作用的风速剖面较对数剖面更能准确描述台风过程的风速剖面特征。   相似文献

提出一套高光谱分辨率激光雷达(HSRL)系统,用于同时测量大气风和气溶胶的光学性质.该HSRL系统中使用碘分子滤波器分离分子和气溶胶后向散射,同时利用双边缘检测技术测量大气风场引起的多普勒频移.文中选用合理的HSRL参数和大气模型数据,模拟和分析了HSRL的测量性能.系统夜晚运行时,可测量20 km以下的大气风速和气溶胶,风速误差小于2 m s-1,气溶胶的后向散射系数相对误差小于30%.在白天工作时,相同误差下的可探测高度为10 km.模拟分析结果表明,该HSRL雷达有较大的应用前景,对天气和气象研究等有重要意义.  相似文献

激光雷达反演边界层高度方法评估及在北京的应用   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
边界层高度是影响大气边界层发展和空气污染程度的重要因子,是环境和气候研究的重要参数。本文利用激光雷达对北京地区2011年5月至2012年4月的边界层高度进行探测分析,采用小波协方差方法反演边界层高度,评估了该方法的适用性。得到基于小波协方差方法自动判断边界层高度的最优参数组合,激光雷达与飞机探测结果对比一致性较好;与探空结果相关系数0.88,激光雷达反演的边界层高度略偏高。当激光雷达的垂直分辨率为30 m时,更加适合北京地区的步长和阈值分别为210 m和0.05;当激光雷达的垂直分辨率为15 m时,步长和阈值分别为135 m和0.05。分析期间,不同季节边界层高度日变化有明显的不同,夏季14:00(北京时)左右达到最高,较高的边界层高度可维持3~4 h,平均可达1.30 km;冬季较高边界层高度只能维持2 h左右,平均为1.08 km。有云与无云天气边界层日变化特征以及边界层高度存在显著的差异,云的存在减少了到达地面的直接辐射,抑制了湍流的发展,进一步抑制了边界层的发展;本文也将激光雷达反演边界层高度结果应用于观测时期边界层高度与地面污染的关系研究中,统计得到边界层高度与PM2.5浓度的相关系数为-0.340。  相似文献

We describe here a DIAL lidar system for atmospheric ozone measurements atAberystwyth, Wales, together witha method for deriving a stratospheric ozone profile from a single laserwavelength. Lidar measurements are used todepict the passage of three mesoscale ozone disturbances in the troposphereand stratosphere. In the troposphere, twosmall fold-like structures are shown beneath and at the edge of streamers ofhigh potential vorticity in ECMWFanalyses. MST radar measurements at the same time show that one of these foldswas actively turbulent, causingmixing of stratospheric and tropospheric air. In the stratosphere, a streamerof low-latitude air drawn into a filamentby a breaking Rossby wave event was observed crossing the lidar site.  相似文献

本文针对传统的体散射模型并未考虑大气不均匀性对信号传输的影响等问题,通过引入垂直非均匀的大气参数改进了模型,并利用其建立了体目标的双基地激光测风雷达方程,仿真了侧向散射回波信号,并与单基地雷达进行了对比分析。研究表明:水平方向上,双基地激光测风雷达的回波信号分布特征与单基地雷达差异较大,其回波信号等值线在近地面为卵形线,随着探测高度的增加,回波信号等值线逐渐变为以主、被动雷达为焦点的椭圆形,并最终趋近于圆形;垂直方向上,双基地激光测风雷达的回波信号随高度衰减剧烈,近地面的回波能量约为10-10 J,4 km高度的回波能量约为10-15J,在中低层大气(0~10 km),回波信号中气溶胶散射占比大,在高层大气(10 km以上),分子散射占比大。  相似文献

Maximum cross-correlation provides a method to remotely determine highly resolved three-dimensional fields of horizontal winds with elastic lidar throughout large volumes of the planetary boundary layer (PBL). This paper details the technique and shows comparisons between elastic lidar winds, remotely sensed laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) wind profiles, and radiosonde winds. Radiosonde wind data were acquired at Barcelona, Spain, during the Barcelona Air-Quality Initiative (1992), and the LDV wind data were acquired at Sunland Park, New Mexico (N.M.), during the Border Area Air-Quality Study (1994). Comparisons show good agreement between the different instruments, and demonstrate the method useful for air pollution management at the local/regional scale. Elastic lidar winds could thus offer insight into aerosol and pollution transport within the PBL. Lidar wind fields might also be used to nudge or improve initialization and evaluation of atmospheric meteorological models.  相似文献

During the UBL-ESCOMPTE program (June–July 2001), intensive observations were performed in Marseille (France). In particular, a Doppler lidar, located in the north of the city, provided radial velocity measurements on a 6-km radius area in the lowest 3 km of the troposphere. Thus, it is well adapted to document the vertical structure of the atmosphere above complex terrain, notably in Marseille, which is bordered by the Mediterranean sea and framed by numerous massifs. The present study focuses on the last day of the intensive observation period 2 (26 June 2001), which is characterized by a weak synoptic pressure gradient favouring the development of thermal circulations. Under such conditions, a complex stratification of the atmosphere is observed. Three-dimensional numerical simulations, with the Méso-NH atmospheric model including the town energy balance (TEB) urban parameterization, are conducted over south-eastern France. A complete evaluation of the model outputs was already performed at both regional and city scales. Here, the 250-m resolution outputs describing the vertical structure of the atmosphere above the Marseille area are compared to the Doppler lidar data, for which the spatial resolution is comparable. This joint analysis underscores the consistency between the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) observed by the Doppler lidar and that modelled by Méso-NH. The observations and simulations reveal the presence of a shallow sea breeze (SSB) superimposed on a deep sea breeze (DSB) above Marseille during daytime. Because of the step-like shape of the Marseille coastline, the SSB is organized in two branches of different directions, which converge above the city centre. The analysis of the 250-m wind fields shows evidence of the role of the local topography on the local dynamics. Indeed, the topography tends to reinforce the SSB while it weakens the DSB. The ABL is directly affected by the different sea-breeze circulations, while the urban effects appear to be negligible.  相似文献

FY-3卫星上搭载的紫外臭氧总量探测仪(Total Ozone Unit,TOU)是我国首台自主研制的用于全球臭氧总量监测的仪器,自2008年5月至今已有3台仪器搭载在气象卫星(FY-3A/FY-3B/FY-3C)上成功发射并在轨运行。TOU利用紫外波段进行臭氧总量反演,以获得全球臭氧的分布及其变化。2013年,针对我国灰霾、沙尘等气溶胶污染事件频发的环境问题,TOU紫外探测数据被成功用于吸收性气溶胶指数(AAI)的反演,之后TOU被用于我国吸收性气溶胶污染事件的监测,为沙尘、灰霾等的预报提供监测数据。对TOU的数据和产品的质量和应用进行了介绍,包括L1B数据、臭氧总量产品及AAI指数。在此基础上,根据现有仪器的不足,对后续仪器的发展方向进行了阐述。  相似文献

北京秋季一次降雪前污染天气的激光雷达观测研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
以2009年11月5~8日北京地区发生的一次特殊天气形势下的重污染天气过程为例,研究分析本次污染特点和大气边界层结构特征以及此天气过程的大气温度和相对湿度结构特点。激光雷达是探测大气边界层及气溶胶的一个高效工具,利用ALS300激光雷达系统测量信号,应用Fernald方法反演大气消光系数,根据反演的气溶胶消光系数的最大突变,即最大递减率的高度来确定大气边界层的高度。利用其观测的退偏比分析大气污染物特性。利用微波辐射计数据,确定大气温度和湿度时空特征。研究结果表明:在本次污染天气下,大气具有很强的逆温结构,逆温最大可达近1 K(100 m)-1,500 m以上的大气相对湿度很低,在这种天气特征下的大气边界层高度在400 m左右,非常稳定。污染结束降雪开始前,大气逆温结构消失,大气湿度大幅度增加,接近饱和。根据lidar(light detection and ranging)退偏比的分析,本次污染天气是一次典型的烟尘类颗粒物的污染,污染具有区域性特点。PM2.5(空气动力学当量直径小于等于2.5μm的颗粒物)与AOT(Aerosol Optical Thickness)之间有明显的线性关系,相关系数达到0.72。该lidar系统能够反演出秋季降雪前本次污染天气背景下北京城区上空的大气污染特性和大气边界层高度。  相似文献

The authors analyzed the retrieval sensitivity of tropospheric ozone using simulated the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment-2 (GOME-2) measurements. The retrieval sensitivity was evaluated by the degree of free- dom for signal (DFS). The combination of the ultraviolet (UV), UV polarization (UVPOL), and visible (VIS) bands enhances DFS of tropospheric ozone and improves the vertical resolution of the retrieved ozone profile. UVPOL reduces the dependence on solar zenith angle, mainly in- creases the sensitivity in upper troposphere. Polarization increased the DFS by 20% on the eastern side of the GOME-2 orbit, with little improvement on the western side because the increase in DFS due to polarization is depend- ent on the relative azimuth angle. The inclusion of the visi- ble band reduces significantly the dependence on viewing geometry, and mainly increases the DFS in the lower tro- posphere (0-6 kin) by a factor of two. It was possible to retrieve several independent pieces of tropospheric ozone information from GOME-2 UV/UVPOL/VIS measure- ments, especially in the lower troposphere.  相似文献

The role of atmospheric ozone to protect the living organisms and vegetation from the harmful effects of ultraviolet irradiation is well known. Depletion of the ozone layer is a great threat to the human society. In this paper we have discussed the lethal effects of ozone depletion and have presented the ozone and UV-B scenarios from 1979 to 2005 at different Indian latitudes using satellite data. The erythemal UV irradiance data obtained from Nimbus-7 and Earth probe total ozone mapping spectrometer (TOMS) and the tropospheric and stratospheric ozone data obtained from the convective cloud differential (CCD) method have been used to study the variability of erythemal UV irradiance and the stratospheric and tropospheric column ozone, respectively, over a period from 1979 to 2005. The observed results along with the expected upper and lower tolerance limits for tropospheric and stratospheric ozone, respectively, for different Indian latitudes, which have been estimated statistically using monthly mean CCD ozone data from 1979 to 2005 have been discussed in detail.  相似文献

多普勒激光雷达在大气、环境以及风能等领域得到越来越广泛的应用,但对于复杂天气下多普勒激光雷达的适用性仍然有待深入研究。为此本研究采用2020年8—10月期间位于福建三沙的地基多普勒激光雷达与边界层高塔所搭载的超声风温仪观测的风场数据进行对比,发现多普勒激光雷达在水平风速、风向方面具有稳定的高精度探测性能,与超声风温仪之间相关系数达到了0.948和0.984。相比之下,激光雷达垂直风速的探测误差较大,与超声风温仪之间相关系数仅有0.353。研究发现,降雨强度与激光雷达垂直风速误差呈正相关关系,强降雨下垂直风速偏差最大可达到9 m/s。  相似文献

We investigate the effects of an isolated meso-\(\gamma \)-scale surface heterogeneity for roughness and albedo on the atmospheric boundary-layer (ABL) height, with a case study at a semi-arid forest surrounded by sparse shrubland (forest area: \(28~\text{ km }^2\), forest length in the main wind direction: 7 km). Doppler lidar and ceilometer measurements at this semi-arid forest show an increase in the ABL height over the forest compared with the shrubland on four out of eight days. The differences in the ABL height between shrubland and forest are explained for all days with a model that assumes a linear growth of the internal boundary layer of the forest through the convective ABL upwind of the forest followed by a square-root growth into the stable free atmosphere. For the environmental conditions that existed during our measurements, the increase in ABL height due to large sensible heat fluxes from the forest (\(600~\text {W~m}^{-2}\) in summer) is subdued by stable stratification in the free atmosphere above the ABL, or reduced by high wind speeds in the mixed layer.  相似文献
