The ionization structure of the auroral arc was measured on a sounding rocket which penetrated into a bright auroral arc. The E-region electron density becomes large (2 ~ 5 × 105 el/cm3 only in the moving auroral arc, whose N2+ 4278 Å brightness is 1 ~ 2·5 kR. The electron density in the D-region beneath the lower boundary of the arc (75 ~ 98 km in altitude) is also considerably enhanced to 2 ~ 5 × 104 el/cm3.The observed E-region electron density can be interpreted theoretically as due to the direct ionization by precipitating electrons, whose energy spectrum is approximately represented by an exponential type having the characteristic energy of 2 keV. The correlation between the electron density and the N2+ 4278 Å brightness can be reasonably explained by considering the simultaneous effects on the ionization and the optical excitation caused by the primary electrons having a flux of 9 × 109 el/cm2/sec per 1 kR of the 4278 Å emission.Further analyses using the electron density data from four other sounding rockets have shown that the D-region ionization has good correlations to the cosmic noise absorption (CNA) and the magnetic substorm activities observed simultaneously at the ground station, whereas it has poor correlation to the same quantity of the E-region measured in the same experiment. It is found that the observed D-region ionization is much larger than that predicted by the theory which takes into account the Bremsstrahlung X-ray ionization along with the direct impact ionization when it is applied to the precipitating electron flux spectrum consistent to the E-region ionization and optical excitation. After all the present experimental results suggest a dual nature of the electron precipitation spectrum in the substorm, i.e. the softer part which is localized in the auroral arc and the harder part which is spatially wide-spread over the substorm area.  相似文献

A model of the predawn bulge ionosphere composition and structure is constructed and compared with the ion mass spectrometer measurements from the Pioneer Venus Orbiter during orbits 117 and 120. Particular emphasis is given to the identification of the mass-2 ion which we find unequivocally due to D+ (and not H2+). The atmospheric D/H ratio of 1.4% and 2.5% is obtained at the homopause (~ 130 km) for the two orbits. The H2+ contribution to the mass-2 ion density is less than 10%, and the H2 mixing ratio must be <0.1 ppm at 130 km altitude. The He+ data require a downward He+ flux of ~2 × 107 cm?2 sec?1 in the predawn region which suggest that the light ions also flow across the terminator from day to night along with the observed O+ ion flow.  相似文献

Nitric oxide is formed in the atmosphere through the ionization and dissociation of molecular nitrogen by galactic cosmic rays. One NO molecule is formed for each ion pair produced by cosmic ray ionization. The height-integrated input (day and night) to the lower stratosphere is of the order of 6 × 107 NO molecules cm?2/sec in the auroral zone (geomagnetic latitude Φ ? 60°) during the minimum of the sunspot cycle and 4 × 107 NO molecules cm?2/sec in the subauroral belt and auroral region (Φ? 45°) at the maximum of solar activity. The tropical production is less than 10?7 NO molecules cm?2/sec above 17 km and at the equator the production is only 3 × 106NO molecules cm?2/sec.  相似文献

Altitude dependences of [CO2] and [CO2+] are deduced from Mariner 6 and 7 CO2+ airglow measurements. CO2 densities are also obtained from ne radio occultation measurements. Both [CO2] profiles are similar and correspond to the model atmosphere of Barth et al. (1972) at 120 km, but at higher altitudes they diverge and at 200–220 km the obtained [CO2] values are three times less the model. Both the airglow and radio occultation observations show that a correction factor of 2.5 should be included into the values for solar ionization flux given by Hinteregger (1970). The ratio of [CO2+]/ne is 0.15–0.2 and, hence, [O]/[CO2] is ~3% at 135 km. An atmospheric and ionospheric model is developed for 120–220 km. The calculated temperature profile is characterized by a value of T ≈ 370°K at h ? 220 km, a steep gradient (~2°/km) at 200-160 km, a bend in the profile at 160 km, a small gradient (~0.7°/km) below and a value of T ≈ 250°K at 120 km. The upper point agrees well with the results of the Lyman-α measurements; the steep gradient may be explained by molecular viscosity dissipation of gravity and acoustical waves (the corresponding energy flux is 4 × 10?2 erg cm?2sec?1 at 180 km). The bend at 160 km may be caused by a sharp decrease of the eddy diffusion coefficient and defines K ≈ 2 × 108cm2sec?1; and the low gradient gives an estimate of the efficiency of the atmosphere heating by the solar radiation as ? ≈ 0.1.  相似文献

Calculations of the steady-state photoelectron energy and angular distribution in the altitude region between 120 and 1000 km are presented. The distribution is found to be isotropic at all altitudes below 250 km, while above this altitude anisotropies in both pitch angle and energy are found. The isotropy found in the angular distribution below 250 km implies that photoelectron transport below 250 km is insignificant, while the angular anisotropy found above this altitude implies a net photoelectron current in the upward direction. The energy anisotropy above 500 km arises from the selective backscattering of the low energy photoelectron population of the upward flux component by Coulomb collisions with the ambient ions. The total photoelectron flux attains its maximum value between about 40 and 70 km above the altitude at which the photoelectron production rate is maximum. The displacement of the maximum of the equilibrium flux is attributed to an increasing (with altitude) photoelectron lifetime. Photoelectrons at altitudes above that where the flux is maximum are on the average more energetic than those below that altitude. The flux of photoelectrons escaping to the protonosphere at dawn was found to be 2.6 × 108 cm?2 sec?1, while the escaping flux at noon was found to be 1.5 × 108 cm?2 sec?1. The corresponding escaping energy fluxes are: 4.4 × 109 eV cm?2 sec?1 and 2.7 × 109 eV cm?2 sec?1.  相似文献

Incoherent scatter measurements of electron density and vertical O+ fluxes over Millstone Hill (42.6°N, 71.5°W) previously have been used to study the exchange of plasma between the ionosphere and the magnetosphere. During the daytime there is usually an upward flux of O+ ions above about 450 km that can be measured readily and equated to the escaping proton flux. At night the O+ fluxes usually are downwards everywhere owing to the decay of the F-layer, and it becomes difficult to detect effects due an arriving proton flux. In a new study of the nighttime fluxes, appeal was made to the estimated abundance of the H+ ions in the upper F-region which can be extracted from the observations. From a study of the behavior on 25 days over the interval 1969–1973, we conclude that in the daytime the flux always is upwards and close to its limiting value. This situation persists throughout the night in summer at times of high sunspot activity (e.g., 1969). There is a period of downward flux prior to ionospheric sunrise on winter nights whose duration increases with decreasing sunspot number. As sunspot minimum is approached (e.g., in 1973) downward fluxes are encountered for a brief period prior to ionospheric sunrise in summer also. Thus, over most parts of sunspot cycle, it appears that the protonosphere supplies ionization to the winter night ionosphere, while being maintained from the summer hemisphere. This helps explain the smallness of the day-to-night variations reported for the electron content of magnetospheric flux tubes near L = 4 in the American sector.  相似文献

A coupled neutral-ionic photochemical model has been used to interpret the ionic composition of the Venusian dayside ionosphere measured by the orbiter retarding potential analyser (ORPA) experiment on board the NASA Pioneer-Venus orbiter spacecraft. The electron and ion temperatures also measured by the ORPA are used for calculating the plasma-diffusion coefficients and scale heights for ions. The neutral temperature profiles and the densities of neutral constituents, particularly CO2 and O, play key roles in the determination of the height profiles of the ionic constituents. All these quantities vary substantially in the Venusian thermosphere near the terminator; the models presented are representatives of the solar zenith angle ~65°. The predicted O2+ densities below ~200km agree particularly well with observations by the ORPA, but the model values are significantly less than those measured by the orbiter ion mass spectrometer (OIMS). Models predict much smaller densities than observed values for all molecular ions above ~200km. The reason for the turn-up trend of the concentration gradient of molecular ions observed at these heights by both ORPA and OIMS is unknown. One of the models can predict O+ ion densities above ~200km compatible with observations, if an effective vertical escape flux (φ108cm?2sec?1) is assumed at the ionopause. The neutral air density required to explain the observed ion composition is about 1.4 times larger than the values measured by the orbiter neutral mass spectrometer (ONMS).  相似文献

Steady-state calculations are performed for the daytime equatorial F2-region and topside ionosphere. Values are calculated of the electron and ion temperatures and the concentrations and field-aligned velocities of the ions O+, H+ and He+. Account is taken of upward E × B drift, a summer-winter horizontal neutral air wind and heating of the electron gas by thermalization of fast photoelectrons. The calculated plasma temperatures are in accord with experiment: at the equator there is an isothermal region from about 400–550 km altitude, with temperatures of about 2400 K around 800 km altitude. The transequatorial O+ breeze flux from summer to winter in the topside ionosphere is not greatly affected by the elevated plasma temperatures. The field-aligned velocities of H+ and He+ depend strongly on the O+ field-aligned velocity and on the presence of large temperature gradients. For the minor ions, ion-ion drag with O+ cannot be neglected for the topside ionosphere.  相似文献

The high electron temperatures existing within SAR-arcs can result in enhanced vibrational excitation of atmospheric N2 molecules and, as a consequence, increase the rate coefficient of the reaction, O+ + N2 → NO+ + N. This results in a change in the relative abundance of O+ and NO++ in the SAR-arc region compared with that in the undisturbed ionosphere. Theoretical ion density profiles were computed by a triple ion analysis solving the mass, momentum and energy equations for O+, NO+ and O+2 ions self-consistently. Although the electron temperature dependence of the recombination rate of NO+ is not well known, the results show that for a range of expected recombination rates NO+ still remains the dominant ion up to ca. 320 km at night within a bright SAR-arc. Studies were also made of the relative importance of a downward O+ flux and an upward ion drift in maintaining the F-region under SAR-arc conditions. It was found that the upward drift caused a marked increase in the NO+/O+ transition altitude as high as 460 km at night. However, for typical drift speeds up to 50 m sec?1 the peak electron density was lower than experimental observations. The effect of a large, short-duration perpendicular electric field on the SAR-arc ion and electron density profiles was found to be small. In all cases considered the magnitude of the enhanced NO+ density as a result of vibrationally excited N2 molecules was sufficient to prevent the electron density within the night-time SAR-arc from becoming vanishingly small.  相似文献

Two extreme ultraviolet (EUV) spectrophotometers flown in December 1978 on Venera 11 and Venera 12 measured the hydrogen Lyman α emission resonantly scattered in the atmosphere of Venus. Measurements were obtained across the dayside of the disk, and in the exosphere up to 50,000 km. They were analyzed with spherically symmetric models for which the radiative transfer equation was solved. The H content of the Venus atmosphere varies from optically thin to moderately thick regions. A shape fit at the bright limb allows one to determine the exospheric temperature Tc and the number density nc independently of the calibration of the instrument or the exact value of the solar flux. The dayside exospheric temperature was measured for the first time in the polar regions, with Tc = 300 ± 25°K for Venera 11 (79°S) and Tc = 275 ± 25°K (59°S) for Venera 12. At the same place, the density is nc = 4?2+3 × 104 atom.cm?3, and the integrated number density Nt from 250 to 110 km (the level of CO2 absorption) is 2.1 × 1012 atom.cm?2, a factor of 3 to 6 lower than that predicted in aeronomical models. This probably indicates that the models should be revised in the content of H-bearing molecules and should include the effect of dynamics. Across the disk the value of Nt decreases smoothly with a total variation of two from the morning side to the afternoon side. Alternately it could be a latitude effect, with less hydrogen in the polar regions. The nonthermal component if clearly seen up to 40,000 km of altitude. It is twice as abundant as at the time of Mariner 10 (solar minimum). Its radial distribution above 4000 km can be simulated by an exospheric distribution with T = 1030K and n = 103 atom.cm?3 at the exobase level. However, there are less hot atoms between 2000 and 4000 km than predicted by an ionospheric source. A by-product of the analysis is a determination of a very high solar Lyman α flux of 7.6 × 1011 photons (cm2 sec Å)?1 at line center (1 AU) in December 1978.  相似文献

Measured rates are presented for the reaction of He+ ions with H2 (and D2) molecules to form H+, H2+, and HeH+ ions, as well as for the subsequent reactions of H+ and HeH+ ions with H2 to form H3+. The neutralization of H3+ (and H5+) ions by dissociative recombination with electrons is shown to be fast. The reaction He+ + H2 is slow (k = 1.1 × 10?13 cm3/sec at300°K) and produces principally H+ by the dissociative charge transfer branch. It is concluded that there may be a serious bottleneck in the conversion of two of the primary ions of the upper Jovian ionosphere, H+ and He+ (which recombine slowly), to the rapidly recombining H3+ ion (α[H3+]?3.4 × 10?7 cm3/sec at 150°K).  相似文献

Results of the scattered solar radiation spectrum measurements made deep in the Venus atmosphere by the Venera 11 and 12 descent probes are presented. The instrument had two channels: spectrometric (to measure downward radiation in the range 0.45 < γ < 1.17 μm) and photometric (four filters and circular angle scanning in an almost vertical plane). Spectra and angular scans were made in the height range from 63 km above the planet surface. The integral flux of solar radiation is 90 ± 12 W m?2 measured on the surface at the subsolar point. The mean value of surface absorbed radiation flux per planetary unit area is 17.5 ± 2.3 W m?2. For Venera 11 and 12 landing sites the atmospheric absorbed radiation flux is ~15 W m?2 for H >; 43 km and ~45 W m?2 for H < 48 km in the range 0.45 to 1.55 μm. At the landing sites of the two probes the investigated portion of the cloud layer has almost the same structure: it consists of three parts with boundaries between them at about 51 and 57 km. The base of clouds is near 48 km above the surface. The optical depth of the cloud layer (below 63 km) in the range 0.5 to 1 μm does not depend on the wavelength and is ~29 and ~38 for the Venera 11 and 12 landing sites, respectively. The single-scattering albedo, ω0, in the clouds is very close to 1 outside the absorption bands. Below 58 km the parameter (1 ? ω0) is <10?3 for 0.49 and 0.7 μm. The parameter (1 ? ω0) obviously increases above 60 km. Below 48 km some aerosol is present. The optical depth here is a strong function of wavelength. It varies from 1.5 to 3 at λ = 0.49 μm and from 0.13 to 0.4 at 1.0 μm. The mean size of particles below the cloud deck is about 0.1 μm. Below 35 km true absorption was found at λ < 0.55 μm with the (1 ? ω0) maximum at H ≈ 15 km. The wavelength and height dependence of the absorption coefficient are compatible with the assumption that sulfur with a mixing ratio ~2 × 10?8 normalized to S2 molecules is the absorber. The upper limits of the mixing ratio for Cl2, Br2, and NO2 are 4 × 10?8, 2 × 10?11, and 4 × 10?10, respectively. The CO2 and H2O bands are confidently identified in the observed spectra. The mean value of the H2O mixing ratio is 3 × 10?5 < FH2O < 10?4 in the undercloud atmosphere. The H2O mixing ratio evidently varies with height. The most probable profile is characterized by a gradual increase from FH2O = 2 × 10?5 near the surface to a 10 to 20 times higher value in the clouds.  相似文献

Lidar observations of atmospheric sodium reveal a diurnally steady layer with a maximum concentration near 92 km of 3?5 × 103cm?3. These data imply that both Fe and Mg should have peak concentrations near 105 cm?3 on the basis of their relative abundance to sodium in chondritic meteorites. We review the available metallic ion data below 100 km and find typical maxima of 102 cm?3 for Na and 103 cm?3 for both [Fe+] and [Mg+] for undisturbed daytime conditions. We argue that enhancements of up to 104 cm?3 for Fe+ and Mg+ during aurora support the viewpoint that [Fe] and [Mg] both approach 105 cm?3 near 92 km. We briefly discuss the lack of spectroscopic evidence for such concentrations. In our review of the metallic ion data we find evidence for about a factor of ten diurnal variation in both Fe+ and Mg+ and probably Na+. Minimum concentrations of 102 cm?3 are attained just before dawn for [Fe+] and [Mg+].  相似文献

During August 1972, Explorer 45 orbiting near the equatorial plane with an apogee of ~5.2 Re traversed magnetic field lines in close proximity to those simultaneously traversed by the topside ionospheric satellite ISIS 2 near dusk in the L range 2.0–5.4. The locations of the Explorer 45 plasmapause crossings (determined by the saturation of the d.c. electric field double probe) during this month were compared to the latitudinal decreases of the H+ density observed on ISIS 2 (by the magnetic ion mass spectrometer) near the same magnetic field lines. The equatorially determined plasmapause field lines typically passed through or poleward of the minimum of the ionospheric light ion trough, with coincident satellite passes occurring for which the L separation between the plasmapause and trough field lines was between 1 and 2. Hence, the abruptly decreasing H+ density on the low latitude side of the ionospheric trough is not a near earth signature of the equatorial plasmapause. Vertical flows of the H+ ions in the light ion trough as detected by the magnetic ion mass spectrometer on ISIS were directed upward with velocities between 1 and 2 km s?1 near dusk on these passes. These velocities decreased to lower values on the low latitude side of the H+ trough but did not show any noticeable change across the field lines corresponding to the magnetospheric plasmapause. The existence of upward accelerated H+ flows to possibly supersonic speeds during the refilling of magnetic flux tubes in the outer plasmasphere could produce an equatorial plasmapause whose field lines map into the ionosphere at latitudes which are poleward of the H+ density decrease.  相似文献

Models are presented for the height distribution of various photochemically active gases in Venus' upper atmosphere. Attention is directed to the chemistry and vertical transport of odd hydrogen (H, OH, HO2, H2O2), odd oxygen (O, O3), free chlorine (Cl, ClO, ClOO, Cl2), CO, O2, H2 and H2O. Supply of O2 may play a limiting role in the formation of a possible H2SO4 cloud on Venus. The supply rate is influenced by both chemical and dynamical processes in the stratosphere, and an analysis of recent spectroscopic data for O2 implies a lower limit to the appropriate eddy coefficient of about 3 × 105 cm2/sec. The abundances of thermospheric O and CO are determined largely by vertical mixing, and an analysis of Mariner 10 measurements of Venus' Lyman α airglow suggests that the eddy coefficient in the lower thermosphere may be as large as 5 × 107cm2sec. The corresponding values for the mixing ratios of O and CO at the ionospheric peak are approximately 1 per cent. The Lyman α data could be reconciled with larger values for thermospheric O, and smaller values for the vertical eddy coefficient, if non-thermal loss processes were to play a dominant role in hydrogen escape, and if the corresponding flux were to exceed 107 atoms/cm2/sec. A sink of this magnitude would imply major depletion of Venus' atmospheric water over geologic time, and would appear to require mixing ratios of H2O in the lower atmosphere in excess of 4 × 10?4. The extensive component to the Lyman α emission measured by Mariner 5 may be due to resonance scattering of sunlight by hot atoms formed by charge transfer with O+. The H scale height, therefore, may reflect the temperature of positive ions in Venus' topside ionosphere.  相似文献

In an updating of energy characteristics of lightnings on Venus obtained from Venera-9 and -10 optical observations, the flash energy is given as 8 × 108 J and the mean energy release of lightnings is 1 erg cm?2 s which is 25 times as high as that on the Earth. Lightnings were observed in the cloud layer. The stroke rate in the near-surface atmosphere is less than 5 s?1 over the entire planet if the light energy of the stroke exceeds 4 × 105 J and less than 15 s?1 for (1–4) × 105 J.The average NO production due to lightnings equals 5 × 108 cm?2 s?1, the atomic nitrogen production is equal to 7 × 109 cm?2s?1,the N flux toward the nightside is 3.2 × 109 cm?2s?1, the number densities [N] = 3 × 107cm?3 and [NO] = 1.8 × 106cm?3 at 135 km. Almost all NO molecules in the upper atmosphere vanish interacting with N and the resulting NO flux at 90-80 km equals 5 × 105cm?2s?1, which is negligibly small as compared with lightning production. If the predissociation at 80–90 km is regarded as the single sink of NO, its mixing ratio, fNO, is 4 × 10?8, for the case of a surface sink fNO = 0.8 × 10?9 at 50 km. Excess amounts, fNO ? 4 × 10?8, may exist in the thunderstorm region.  相似文献

A magnetic type mass spectrometer has been flown on two ESRO sounding rockets from ESRANGE (Kiruna 68°N) on February 25 and 26, 1970. The first launch was at sunset (16:33 UT) and the second the next morning, during sunrise (04:47 UT). For both flights the solar zenith angle was approximately 98°. The instrument was measuring simultaneously the neutral gas and positive ion composition and the total ion density. In this paper the results of the ion composition measurements are presented. For both flights the main ion constituents measured between approximately 110–220 km were O+, NO+ and O2+. Only at sunset were N+ and N2+ detected above 200 km. In spite of the identical solar UV-radiation, pronounced sunset/sunrise variations in the positive ion composition were found. The total ion densities at sunrise were between 5×103 and 5 × 104 ions cm?3 and therefore too high to be explained without a night-time ionization by precipitated particles. At sunrise the NO+ and O2+ profiles show a correlated wavelike structure with three pronounced almost equally spaced layers in the E-region. Only the highest layer is present in the O+ profile. Locally enhanced field aligned ionization originated by particle precipitation and an E × B instability are the most likely source for this structure. In the E- and lower F-regions the NO+O2+ ration increased overnight from values around 7 at sunset to 15 at sunrise, correlated with an increase of the local magnetic activity index K from 0+ to 2°. This could be explained if the NO density and magnetic activity are correlated.  相似文献

We have modeled the near and post-terminator thermosphere/ionosphere of Venus with a view toward understanding the relative importance of EUV solar fluxes and downward fluxes of atomic ions transported from the dayside in producing the mean ionosphere. We have constructed one-dimensional thermosphere/ionosphere models for high solar activity for seven solar zenith angles (SZAs) in the dusk sector: 90°, 95°, 100°, 105°, 110°, 115° and 125°. For the first 4 SZAs, we determine the optical depths for solar fluxes from 3 Å to 1900 Å by integrating the neutral densities numerically along the slant path through the atmosphere. For SZAs of 90°, 95°, and 100°, we first model the ionospheres produced by absorption of the solar fluxes alone; for 95°, 100°, and 105° SZAs, we then model the ion density profiles that result from both the solar source and from imposing downward fluxes of atomic ions, including O+, Ar+, C+, N+, H+, and He+, at the top of the ionospheric model in the ratios determined for the upward fluxes in a previous study of the morphology of the dayside (60° SZA) Venus ionosphere. For SZAs of 110°, 115° and 125°, which are characterized by shadow heights above about 300 km, the models include only downward fluxes of ions. The magnitudes of the downward ion fluxes are constrained by the requirement that the model O+ peak density be equal to the average O+ peak density for each SZA bin as measured by the Pioneer Venus Orbiter Ion Mass Spectrometer. We find that the 90° and 95° SZA model ionospheres are robust for the solar source alone, but the O+ peak density in the “solar-only” 95° SZA model is somewhat smaller than the average value indicated by the data. A small downward flux of ions is therefore required to reproduce the measured average peak density of O+. We find that, on the nightside, the major ion density peaks do not occur at the altitudes of peak production, and diffusion plays a substantial role in determining the ion density profiles. The average downward atomic ion flux for the SZA range of 90–125° is determined to be about 1.2 × 108 cm−2 s−1.  相似文献

The coupled time-dependent O+ and H+ continuity and momentum equations and O+, H+ and electron heat balance equations are solved simultaneously within the L = 1.4 (Arecibo) magnetic flux tube between an altitude of 120 km and the equatorial plane. The results of the calculations are used in a study of the topside ionosphere above Arecibo at equinox during sunspot maximum. Magnetically quiet conditions are assumed. The results of the calculations show that the L = 1.4 magnetic flux tube becomes saturated from an arbitrary state within 2–3 days. During the day the ion content of the magnetic flux tube consists mainly of O+ whereas O+ and H+ are both important during the night. There is an altitude region in the topside ionosphere during the day where ion-counterstreaming occurs with H+ flowing downward and O+ flowing upward. The conditions causing this ion-counterstreaming are discussed. There is a net chemical gain of H+ at the higher altitudes. This H+ diffuses both upwards and downwards whilst O+ diffuses upwards from its solar e.u.v. production source which is most important at the lower altitudes. During the night the calculated O+ and H+ temperatures are very nearly equal whereas during the day there are occasions when the H+ temperature exceeds the O+ temperature by about 300 K.  相似文献

The continuity, momentum and energy hydrodynamic equations for an O+-H+ ionosphere have been solved self-consistently for steady state conditions when a perpendicular (convection) electric field is present. Comparison of the H+ temperature profiles obtained with and without the electric field show that the effect of the electric field is to enhance the H+ temperature at high altitudes from about 3600 to 6400 K. Due to ion heating by the electric field, there is a net reduction of O+ in the F2-region as compared with the case of a non-convecting ionosphere. When the reduction of O+ is neglected, the electric field acts to increase the H+ outward flux from 8.3 × 107 to 2.7 × 108 cm?2 sec?1 for average ionospheric conditions. However, when the reduction of O+ is included, there is a net reduction in the outward H+ flux. Nevertheless, the convection electric field still results in an increase in the rate of depletion of the F-re m?1 electric field.  相似文献
