对比研究了新疆伽师强震群与乌兹别克斯坦加兹里强震群,发现两者不但在分段上极为相似,而且随时间的发展在能量释放的分配形式上也极为相似,且余震都呈共轭分布,主要地震迁移呈多侧扩展型,强震群序列中各次主要地震的发生表现出一定的的继承性特征,强震前中小地震出现平静。从频度及强度上看,两次强震群第一组强震发生后余震频度及强度较低,第二组强震发生后余震频度及强度较高,第三组强震发生后余震频度及强度最高。  相似文献

极震区的烈度分布是由主震和大余震产生的。最重的地震灾区为余震区,其范围可由震级与地震区烈度的统计关系求得。在震级与震中烈度关系中,初期余震的烈度略高于主震,晚期强余震的烈度比主震的低。不同烈度对建筑物的损害程度可通过烈度与损失率曲线进行评估。强余震和后续强震的人口伤亡比主震轻。  相似文献

Structures located in seismically active regions may be subjected to mainshock-aftershock (MSAS) sequences. Strong aftershocks significantly affect the hysteretic energy demand of structures. The hysteretic energy, EH,seq, is normalized by mass m and expressed in terms of the equivalent velocity, VD,seq, to quantitatively investigate aftershock effects on the hysteretic energy of structures. The equivalent velocity, VD,seq, is computed by analyzing the response time-history of an inelastic single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system with a varying vibration period subjected to 309 MSAS sequences. The present study selected two kinds of MSAS sequences, with one aftershock and two aftershocks, respectively. The aftershocks are scaled to maintain different relative intensities. The variation of the equivalent velocity, VD,seq, is studied for consideration of the ductility values, site conditions, relative intensities, number of aftershocks, hysteretic models, and damping ratios. The MSAS sequence with one aftershock exhibited a 10% to 30% hysteretic energy increase, whereas the MSAS sequence with two aftershocks presented a 20% to 40% hysteretic energy increase. Finally, a hysteretic energy prediction equation is proposed as a function of the vibration period, ductility value, and damping ratio to estimate hysteretic energy for mainshock-aftershock sequences.  相似文献

运用变分原理,我们得到了最小地震波辐射能量约束准则并用于研究震源的物理过程.通过研究1995年ML4.1河北沙城地震序列主震和余震的动力学过程,可知主震和余震震源的动态破裂过程明显不同;ML4.1主震的破裂速度与瑞利波速相近,约为剪切波速度的0.89倍;而28个余震的破裂速度远远小于剪切波速度,大约是剪切波速度的0.05到0.55倍.根据裂纹扩展模型,计算得到其余震的地震波辐射效率多在10%以下,这也说明了余震的地震效率较低.我们认为余震震源的动态破裂过程应与断层内部新生裂纹的扩展有关,而非简单的岩体间的相对滑动.余震震源的动态破裂传播与破裂能占主导地位的小地震有关.这些小震所带来的破裂能也导致了断层的进一步扩展.在对该地震序列的研究中,我们发现主震与余震的震源破裂过程在能量分配上有着本质的区别.因此当地震断层尺度相当小时,破裂能的贡献不能忽略,它的大小将显著地影响地震波辐射能的大小.  相似文献

2008年5月12日汶川MS8.0地震主震发生后至2012年5月12日,我国地震台网在龙门山断裂区域内(102°E-105°E,30°N-34°N)共记录93837个地震事件,其中80995次事件含有深度信息.本文以台网地震目录为主要研究对象,分析了汶川地震余震序列的时空分布与演化特征.与构造活动密切相关的余震频次-震级关系变化显示,与主震断裂活动直接相关的余震活动在主震后4个月内基本结束.余震释放能量的空间分布及演化分析显示,在主震后6~24 h即有可能捕获未来余震区的大致展布乃至余震发展趋势.  相似文献

Building structures damaged by a seismic event may be exposed to the risk of aftershocks or another event within a certain period. In this paper, the seismic assessment of damaged piloti‐type RC buildings was carried out to evaluate probabilistic retrofitting effects under successive earthquakes. First, a framework to evaluate the effectiveness of retrofitting was proposed, and then the proposed methodology was demonstrated with a structure retrofitted with buckling‐restrained braces (BRBs). For consideration of realistic successive earthquakes, past records measured at the same station were combined. Within the framework, a series of nonlinear time history analyses were performed for an as‐is model subjected to single earthquake, a damaged model subjected to successive earthquakes, and a damaged model retrofitted with BRBs subjected to successive earthquakes. In addition, fragility analysis was systematically applied in the framework for evaluation of effectiveness of the retrofitting strategy. The proposed framework was capable of quantifying the influence of successive earthquakes and evaluating the effectiveness of BRB retrofitting by considering the severity of the first earthquake damage and the hysteresis behavior of the retrofit element. Summary The aftershock sequence of Alaskan earthquake has been studied following the creep theory of aftershocks byBenioff. In this sequence the recovery consists of two linear segments of compressional elastic creep type and the duration of activity is about 24 days. The ratio of the total elastic strain rebound increments of aftershocks to the principal shock was 0.24 and their energy ratio released as seismic waves was 0.004. Therefore 2% of the total strain energy stored in the creep elastic element was used as seismic waves and rest, lost as heat. In dual type recovery, where compression is followed by shear, shows 6 to 8% of total energy used as seismic waves. Hence major portion of seismic wave energy is due to shear type of recovery.  相似文献

In seismology according to Båth’s well-known law, the magnitude of the strongest aftershock is on average by unity lower than the magnitude of the main shock. At the same time, most of the strongest aftershocks typically occur within a few hours after the main shock. From the practical standpoint, this activity is quite naturally perceived as a direct continuation of the main earthquake. The subsequent strong aftershocks occur against the rarer background shocks, are less expected, and therefore constitute a separate hazard. The average difference in magnitudes between the main shock and the strongest aftershock that occurs a certain time after the main shock gradually increases. In this work, we consider the problem of estimating the magnitudes of the strongest future aftershock at the successive instants of time after the main shock without taking into account the information about the aftershocks that have already occurred before a given time. For these estimates, we construct the theoretical distributions whose shape proves to be independent of time, whereas the time dependence of the shift in the magnitude proves to be known a priori. The predetermination of these dependences at the moment of the strong earthquake gives us grounds to characterize the constructed theoretical model as Båth’s dynamic law.  相似文献

Because seismic activity within mid-continents is usually much lower than that along plate boundary zones, even small earthquakes can cause widespread concerns, especially when these events occur in the source regions of previous large earthquakes. However, these small earthquakes may be just aftershocks that continue for decades or even longer. The recent seismicity in the Tangshan region in North China is likely aftershocks of the 1976 Great Tangshan earthquake. The current earthquake sequence in the New Madrid seismic zone in central United States, which includes a cluster of M ~ 7.0 events in 1811–1812 and a number of similar events in the past millennium, is believed to result from recent fault reactivation that releases pre-stored strain energy in the crust. If so, this earthquake sequence is similar to aftershocks in that the rates of energy release should decay with time and the sequence of earthquakes will eventually end. We use simple physical analysis and numerical simulations to show that the current sequence of large earthquakes in the New Madrid fault zone is likely ending or has ended. Recognizing that mid-continental earthquakes have long aftershock sequences and complex spatiotemporal occurrences are critical to improve hazard assessments.  相似文献

汶川8.0级地震序列具有明显的分段特性,较强余震分布于茂县、绵竹以南及平武以北。主破裂过程在中南段以逆冲为主,序列逐渐衰减,呈主余型的序列衰减特征;北段是汶川地震破裂过程的终止区域,主破裂过程在该区域以走滑为主,形成多震型的序列特征,也成为汶川序列较大余震的主体活动区域。序列较强余震活动明显受引潮力调制,大多数较强余震发生在固体潮大、小潮时段,并且16时前后是较强余震的优势发震时段。序列衰减系数p值随时间增加而逐渐增大,最终基本稳定在1附近变化。结合以往的研究,对序列类型及最大强余震震级、强余震活动持续时间等进行了初步讨论。初步的统计结果还显示,8级左右强震序列中主震与最大余震之间的震级差正比于主震破裂尺度,这意味着当震级大体接近时,较大的破裂尺度与较为充分的能量释放相对应  相似文献

To consider the influence of aftershocks in engineering design, the correlations between main shocks and aftershocks should be examined, and an aftershock simulation method with main shock ground motions needs to be developed. In this study, the data on the sequences of main shock-aftershock ground motions and other related parameters were collected. Using these data, correlations between the magnitude, frequency, duration and energy of the main shock-aftershock ground motions were investigated. The results showed that the magnitude of the aftershock can be larger than that of the main shock. The shapes of the Fourier amplitude spectra of main shocks and aftershocks were similar; however, the predominant frequency and high-frequency components of the aftershock tended to be larger. Considering the magnitude difference between the main shock and the aftershock, the correlation of durations was explored. Additionally, a new concept, the duration ratio, was defined to describe the concentration of seismic energy release, and main shock energy was strongly positively correlated with the energy attenuated during the main shock-aftershock sequence. Finally, based on these results regarding correlation, an aftershock synthesis using recorded main shock ground motions was constructed with the trigonometric series method for seismic design, and some examples are given to analyze the rationality of this synthetic method.

The aftershock activity of the May 12, 2008 Wenchuan Ms8.0 Earthquake Sequence shows an obvious segmented feature. Most of the large aftershocks were distributed in the north and south parts of the aftershock zone. Thrusting was dominant with a small amount of strike-slip component in the south part. The aftershock activity decayed gradually, presenting the sequence features of a mainshock-aftershock pattern. The north part was the ending area of the maiushock fracture where strike-slipping was dominant, showing an obvious swarm feature. Therefore it became the major area for large aftershocks. The modulation of the earth tide on aftershock activity is remarkable; most large aftershocks occur during the period of flood and neap tide. The time period around 16:00 was the dominant occurring time for large aftershocks. The p-value, a parameter of modified Omori formula, increases gradually with time, and reaches about 1 at the end. Based on previous study, the sequence patterns, magnitude of maximum aftershock, as well as the duration of aftershock activity has been discussed. The primary results also show that the magnitude difference between the maiushockand the maximum aftershock is proportional to the rupture size of the maiushock for huge earthquakes of about Ms8.0. This means that when the magnitudes of the earthquakes are nearly the same, large rupture size corresponds to sufficient energy release.  相似文献

鉴于我国砌体结构抗震面临的严峻形势,以及主余震序列作用下砌体结构易损性研究存在的不足,以汶川地震中1栋典型砌体房屋为依托,开展考虑主余震序列作用的砌体结构易损性研究。首先,建立了结构的三维有限元模型,并从结构动力特性与损伤等方面验证了模型的合理性; 其次,选取整体损伤耗能作为结构性能参数,并给出了对应不同破坏等级的结构整体损伤耗能界限值; 最后,基于IDA方法对结构进行了不同主余震序列作用下的易损性分析。结果表明:相对于层间位移角,整体损伤耗能更适用于描述余震对结构的累积损伤效应; 随着结构主震损伤程度的加深,余震对结构造成的影响越明显,且主余震序列作用下结构呈现出比主震单独作用下高一个破坏等级的趋势; 当ΔPGA小于0.6时,结构的极限状态超越概率最大增幅不超过10%,此时余震的影响较小; 当ΔPGA大于0.6时,结构的极限状态超越概率最大增幅可达到33.1%,此时余震的影响较大。  相似文献

The aftershock records of the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that hit the island of Bohol in central Philippines on 15 October 2013 is investigated in the light of previous results for the Philippines using historical earthquakes. Statistics of interevent distances and interevent times between successive aftershocks recorded for the whole month of October 2013 show marked differences from those of historical earthquakes from two Philippine catalogues of varying periods and completeness levels. In particular, the distributions closely follow only the regimes of the historical distributions that were previously attributed to the strong spatio-temporal correlations. The results therefore suggest that these correlated regimes which emerged naturally from the analyses are strongly dominated by the clustering of aftershock events.  相似文献

采用文献[1]计算地震产生的静态应变场的解析表达式,对云南禄劝地震的15次余震,计算了主震在余震节面上产生的正应力和静态库仑破裂应力变化。分析了正应力变化和静态库仑破裂应力变化是否对余震有触发作用。结果表明,主震产生的正应力变化和库仑破裂应力变化并没有明显的证据“有利于”余震的发生。另外,还比较了运用与主震相同的余震机制和反演得到的余震机制在库仑破裂模型中计算结果的差异。使用反演的余震机制得出的结果稍优于假定余震与主震有相同震源机制得到的结果。  相似文献

强震发生后通常伴随着余震,余震的发生会加重结构损伤甚至引发倒塌。为了量化研究主余震序列型地震动对结构损伤的影响,以一栋3层钢筋混凝土框架结构为研究对象,选取了10条实际的主余震记录作为地震动输入,采用ABAQUS非线性有限元软件对该框架结构进行非线性动力时程分析,并依据结构局部和整体损伤耗能指标来评价主余震序列型地震动对框架结构累积损伤的影响。研究结果表明:序列地震会加剧结构底层柱的局部损伤耗能,特别是对底层中柱的影响更加明显;序列地震作用下的结构整体损伤耗能平均值相对于单主震作用下增加约30%;当余震与主震的第一周期谱加速度指标的比值Sa (T1余震/Sa (T1主震较大时,序列地震对结构损伤需求的影响更为显著。  相似文献
