新疆柴窝堡湖沉积物中环境敏感粒度组分揭示的环境信息   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
通过对柴窝堡湖沉积物剖面和流域表层沉积物进行粒度分析,结合沉积剖面年代序列,研究了柴窝堡地区的环境演变与沙尘暴事件。首先通过主成分因子分析,对柴窝堡湖沉积物剖面粒度不同粒级组分含量进行了研究,探讨了湖泊沉积物的物质来源,获得了两个主控因子F1和F2,它们控制了湖泊沉积物近97.7%的粒度变化特征。研究表明,F2代表了以57 μm为众数粒径的次总体,主要来源于地表风沙侵蚀;而F1为以7 μm为众数粒径的次总体,主要受流水作用控制。进而通过粒径-标准偏差法,提取了湖泊沉积物中环境敏感粒度组分,风成组分C2(20~209 μm)反映了区域风沙活动的历史,并揭示了1910-1930年和1980-2000年为百年来的两个沙尘暴相对活动强烈的时期。沉积物中记录的1980年和2000年左右的沙尘事件与器测记录及历史文献记载具有很好的一致性。最后利用均值突变诊断分析,发现柴窝堡湖地区1910年前后存在近百年来最强的沙尘事件,揭示了近百年来该地区一次最强的环境突变事件。   相似文献

泸沽湖表层沉积物粒度空间分布特征及其影响因素   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
选择位于青藏高原和云贵高原过渡区的泸沽湖作为研究对象,对南部主湖区70个表层沉积物样品进行了粒度分析,结合湖泊周围自然地理要素,探讨了粒度各组分在空间上的分布特征及其影响因素。结果表明:泸沽湖南部主湖区表层沉积物沉积类型以黏土质粉砂为主,少数样品为砂质粉砂、砂,砾石主要分布在研究区南部和北部湖滨带,其中粉砂是该研究区的优势粒级。另外,南部主湖区表层沉积物粒度各组分分布具有明显的空间差异性,其中研究区东南侧及西南侧由于受入湖河流(山跨河、三家村河)的影响,导致黏土组分呈舌状分别向北、向东北方向延伸,但东南侧由于受湖水外流形成的定向湖流顶托作用,对研究区物源的贡献较弱;研究区西北部砂组分由于受到悬移作用和定向湖流影响,由西北向东南方向凸出;由于受反时针环流作用的影响,大量细粒物质由研究区北部和西南侧悬移至研究区南部并沉积下来,使得此处有大量细物质沉积。同时指出,泸沽湖南湖表层沉积物粒度空间分布的差异性特征受控于湖泊沉积动力过程及沉积物对环境变化响应敏感程度的差异,研究湖泊表层沉积物粒度组成不仅对于认识湖泊水动力及物质输入状况有很大的促进作用,对合理选择钻孔岩芯位置、开展湖泊沉积古气候环境变化研究具有一定的参考意义。  相似文献

Samples of surface deposits in the Lake Sugan catchment, as well as surface lake sediments, eolian materials occulted in the lake ice cover, and airborne dust were collected for grain-size analysis. The results show that the coarse fraction of the lake sediments could be transported by ambient winds and to a lesser extent by river flow in the study area. Sediment cores were retrieved from Lake Sugan in December 2000, and 210Pb and 137Cs dating and grain-size analyses were performed on these samples. 210Pb ages and the volume percentage of the fraction of lake sediments >63 μm were used to reconstruct the dust storm history from 1957 to 2000. Observational data for dust storm events collected at a local meteorological station largely agrees with the reconstructed trend for the past 44 years, suggesting that lake sediments can be employed to trace the dust storm history of the northern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau.  相似文献

利用乌伦古湖沉积钻孔的粒度资料,分析了粒度频率曲线、粒度参数和粒度组成等粒度特征,并探讨了乌伦古湖粒度代表的古气候意义。结果表明乌伦古湖沉积物频率曲线主要是正态单峰型,反映流水作用为主要沉积作用。岩芯下部(225197cm)沉积物分选较差,偏度和尖度较大,为浅水沉积环境;中部(197103cm)分选由差变好,物源由复杂变单一,为浅水沉积向深水沉积过渡环境;上部(1030cm)分选较好,物源单一,中值粒径减小,反映了湖水位的下降。沉积物粒度特征反映了乌伦古湖地区全新世降水、流水和风力作用以及湖面水位高低的变化。乌伦古湖一万年来的古气候环境演化大致经历了102507720cal.aBP的干旱、77202800cal.aBP的湿润和2800cal.aBP以来的偏干三个阶段。   相似文献

Grain-size distributions of fluvial, eolian and marine sediments were explicated decades ago. For lake sediments, however, there is still great uncertainty in explaining the genesis of grain-size components due to the inherent complexity of their polymodal distributions. In this study, the grain-size components of the surface sediments of Daihai Lake, Inner Mongolia, were partitioned using a lognormal distribution function and the relationship between the identity of each component and the specific sedimentary environment was investigated. The data indicate that the modern clastic sediments of Daihai Lake contain five distinct unimodal grain-size distributions representing five grain-size components. Each of the components retains its identity including modal size, manner of transportation and environment of deposition although the relative percentage varies with the hydraulic condition throughout the lake. These components are specified from fine to coarse modes as long-term suspension clay, offshore-suspension fine silt and medium-to-coarse silt, and nearshore-suspension fine sand and saltation medium sand. The percentage of the components interpreted as an indication of nearshore environments displays a negative correlation with water depth across the modern lakebed, suggesting a model for linking the nearshore components in sediment cores to the lake level status in the geological past. The model was applied to a sediment core from the lake where high percentages of the nearshore components in the core sediments were correlated with low regional precipitations reconstructed on the pollen profile of the same core. The coincidences between two independent proxies do not only demonstrate the validity of lognormal distribution function in partitioning polymodal sediments but also reveals the potential of the grain-size component–lake level status model for lake’s paleohydrological reconstruction.  相似文献

This paper discusses the distribution of trace elements in certain genetic horizons of flooded soils and riverside soil cover and compares it with the heavy metal distribution in bottom sediments of the Ivankovo Reservoir area in the Volga River valley. We present data on the chemical and grain-size compositions of bottom sediments and the concentrations of biophile elements and humus in these sediments. Correlation and factor analyses were applied to reveal the relationships between the abundances of heavy metals and humus and the grain-size composition.  相似文献

在放射性同位素210Pb、137Cs定年的基础上,通过对沉积物粒度参数的分析,探讨了近200年来乌伦古湖沉积物粒度敏感组分特征及其环境意义。研究表明,乌伦古湖WL孔沉积物以黏土和细粉砂为主,但在1970 AD前后,粒度参数发生了突变,其中>16 μm组分所占含量迅速升高,在约1830~1842 AD及1910 AD前后这两个时期,沉积物的粒度参数也有较显著的变化。对沉积物粒度频率分布曲线的分析表明,在对应时期内,沉积物的搬运介质或搬运动力发生了变化。基于此,首先通过粒径-标准偏差方法提取了粒度中的敏感组分C2(7~25 μm),进而通过粒度敏感组分与器测气象数据的相关性分析,明确了组分C2含量的环境指示意义。结果表明,组分C2含量的大小与研究区冬、春季温度和冬季降水量大小有关,反映了积雪融水入湖的强度。在约1830~1842 AD、1910 AD前后,组分C2含量偏高,反映入湖水量较大、湖泊水位较高。而20世纪60年代到70年代,沉积物粒度参数的显著变化与流域人类活动的影响有关。  相似文献

Grain-size parameters derived from the mechanical analysis of acid-insoluble residues from mixed terrigenous-shell beach sediments from Auckland, New Zealand, are more effective for interpreting the depositional processes, and for characterizing the beach environment on textural scatter plots, than are parameters based on the analysis of the total beach samples. This results mainly from the wide variations in size of hydraulically equivalent skeletal carbonate grains in the sediment, especially in the coarser size grades, but may also be accentuated by the local origin and susceptibility to alteration of the shell material. Compared with the total sediment grain-size distribution, the insoluble residues from the beach deposits are characteristically finer-grained, better sorted, and more consistently coarse-skewed and leptokurtic. The grain-size distribution characteristics of insoluble residues from several stratigraphic units in a sequence of Oligocene mixed terrigenous-skeletal shelf sediments in the South Auckland region distinguish depositional mechanisms and environmental energy levels for each unit that are consistent with interpretations made on the basis of carbonate petrography and palaeontology. With regard to the bulk content of terrigenous mud in the insoluble residues, the grain-size distribution of the fraction coarser than 4φ is alone diagnostic of the energy-time trends in these sediments. The grain-size parameters of the acid-insoluble residues in modern and ancient mixed terrigenous-skeletal carbonate sediments may provide more reliable criteria for distinguishing and characterizing the depositional environment of these deposits than do the parameters obtained from the size distribution of the total grain population.  相似文献

Approximately 28,475 m3 of muddy sediments were dredged from a shoal in a South Carolina estuarine system and released near the surface at a nearby site having high tidal current velocities. Effects at the dredged sites included decreased macrofaunal abundance and changes in species composition. These effects appeared to be short term, with substantial recovery occurring within 3 months. Rapid recovery was primarily attributed to immigration through slumping of channel wall sediments similar to those dredged. Detrimental effects on benthic macrofauna in the area of open water disposal were minimal. Most differences noted in community structure between collection dates were attributed to sampling and seasonal variability. The absence of a major longterm disruption to the benthos in the disposal area was probably due to (1) strong tidal currents, which rapidly dispersed the moderate amount of mud sediments released; (2) surface disposal, permitting wider dispersal; and (3) disposal during late autumn, a period of low faunal recruitment.  相似文献

The paper presents data on the geographic and geological conditions of modern sedimentation in Lake Untersee, the largest lake in East Antarctica. Geochemical and sedimentation data indicate that the leading mechanism providing Al-Si sedimentary material to the surface layer of the bottom sediments is the seasonal melting of the Anuchin glacier and the mountain glacier on the southeastern face of the valley hosting the lake. The strongly reduced conditions in the lowermost 25 m of the water column in the smaller of the two depressions at the lake bottom were favorable for the enrichment of the bottom sediments in bacteriogenic organic matter, Mo, Au, and Pd. The H2S-contaminated water facilitates the significant enrichment of the sediments only in redox-sensitive elements able to migrate in the form of anionic complexes and precipitate (coprecipitate) as sulfides.  相似文献

The Port of New York/New Jersey is naturally shallow, and therefore dredging is required to maintain depths necessary for navigation. About six million cubic yards of material must be dredged annually to maintain navigation channels and berthing areas. Opportunities for disposal of dredged materials in the metropolitan region are limited. The existing ocean disposal site that has, until recently, received the majority of dredged materials is nearing capacity. Under the new, more stringent, guidance for ocean disposal, a large percentage of the dredged material is not considered acceptable for ocean disposal because of contamination. This paper explores nondredging alternatives to reduce the volume of materials to be dredged, thus reducing the disposal volume. These alternatives include short-term options (e.g., reprofiling operations, in which sediments from high spots in berths are dragged to depressions in lower spots) and long-term sedimentation minimization options (e.g., subsurface berms or air bubblers deployed around berths and interpier areas). These methods require an understanding of sedimentation/circulation patterns of the harbor as a whole and the local area in which the specific methodology may be employed.  相似文献

The present study was conducted on the Manasbal Lake (34°14′N: 74°40′E) to assess the geochemical characteristics of the lake bottom sediments, its environmental implications and its response in the local catchment area. This study tracks the spatial distribution of grain size, geochemical analysis, C/N ratio, calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and organic matter (OM) of the lake bottom sediments. It is observed that the clay fraction (49.79%) is predominant in the lake bottom sediments, followed by silt (35.88%) and sand (14.33%) and its spatial distribution is controlled by water depth. Geochemistry and normalized diagrams for the major oxides and trace elements reveal enrichment of CaO, K2O, P2O5, S, Cl, Ni, Zn and Sr. Chemical index of alteration (CIA) reflects low to moderate weathering intensity and near compositional similarity with the bedrock exposed in the catchment area around the lake. Environmental indices (EF, Igeo) suggest that the sediments are enriched in Cu, Ni, Zn, Cr, Co, Pb followed by Mn content. Pollution load index (PLI) reveal that all the sampling sites reflect low to moderately polluted category except for few stations that are towards the southern and southeastern side of the lake. OM (16.85%), CaCO3 (14.04%) and C/N ratio (15.5) of the lake bottom sediments is attributed to high organic activity within the lake, shell fragments, contributions from the lake flora and fauna adhering to the clayey silty sediments. The C/N ratio of 15.5 suggests a mixed source of organic matter both terrestrially and in situ formation within the lake. Sulphur and chlorine are high amongst the trace elements suggesting anthropogenic detritus input into the lake and this is due to the chemical fertilizers from the agricultural runoff and organic load into the lake. Thus, the present study suggests that in order to preserve the pristine lake ecology and the environment; continued monitoring and restoration efforts need to be undertaken.  相似文献

Suspended sediment concentration (SSC) data from San Pablo Bay, California, were analyzed to compare the basin-scale effect of dredging and disposal of dredged material (dredging operations) and natural estuarine processes. The analysis used twelve 3-wk to 5-wk periods of mid-depth and near-bottom SSC data collected at Point San Pablo every 15 min from 1993–1998. Point San Pablo is within a tidal excursion of a dredged-material disposal site. The SSC data were compared to dredging volume, Julian day, and hydrodynamic and meteorological variables that could affect SSC. Kendall's τ, Spearman's ?, and weighted (by the fraction of valid data in each period) Spearman's ρ, correlation coefficients of the variables indicated which variables were significantly correlated with SSC. Wind-wave resuspension had the greatest effect on SSC. Median water-surface elevation was the primary factor affecting mid-depth SSC. Greater depths inhibit wind-wave resuspension of bottom sediment and indicate greater influence of less turbid water from down estuary. Seasonal variability in the supply of erodible sediment is the primary factor affecting near-bottom SSC. Natural physical processes in San Pablo Bay are more arally extensive, of equal or longer duration, and as frequent as dredging operations (when occurring), and they affect SSC at the tidal time scale. Natural processes control SSC at Point San Pablo even when dredging operations are occurring.  相似文献

The relationship between Zn and organic content, the latter measured by percentage weight loss on ignition (LOI) is investigated in a suite of 3844 centre-lake bottom sediments from east-central Saskatchewan. The data indicate that Zn values have a strong sympathetic increase with LOI below 12% LOI. Zn values tend to stabilize above 12% LOI, in actuality they decrease slowly from 12 to 50% LOI before decreasing at an accelerated rate over 50% LOI.It is proposed that the change from a sympathetic Zn vs. LOI relationship to an antipathetic relationship occurs because there is insufficient Zn available, from weathering, etc., in the lake water of sampled lakes to maintain the sympathetic relationship. Therefore, the lack of Zn, together with the increasing availability of organic material, creates an excess adsorption capacity of the lake sediments. Below 12% LOI, in lake sediments that do not have an excess adsorption capacity, Zn distribution patterns will be partly controlled by the amount of organic material present. Thus, Zn in these lake sediments may not truly reflect the chemistry of a drainage basin. Whereas, above 12% LOI, where there is an excess adsorption capacity in the sediments, the Zn distribution patterns will more closely reflect the chemistry of a drainage basin. The observed decrease in Zn values obvious over 50% LOI may be reflecting a dilution factor introduced by the ever increasing load of organic material to a system which is not receiving more Zn.It is concluded that centre-lake bottom sediments whose organic content is dominantly in the range of 12–50% LOI form the most effective sample media for regional lake sediment surveys.  相似文献

江汉盆地是长江出三峡后第一个大型卸载区,近2.77 Ma以来堆积了近300m的碎屑沉积物,主要由河流相和湖沼相组成,形成了多个沉积旋回。选择江汉盆地中心位置的ZL钻孔,利用ICP-MS方法展开微量元素组成分析,细粒组分中微量元素含量与各粒组含量相关性并不明显,主要是5~7粒级组分表现出微弱的相关性.可见,粒度并非ZL钻孔微量元素丰度的主控因素。钻孔岩心中大部分亲石元素、亲硫元素相对上部陆壳均出现明显富集,亲铁元素总体低于上部陆壳,可能与江汉盆地总体上更多地接受了来自上游而非扬子古陆本地深源物质风化碎屑沉积有关。Sr、V/Ni和Sr/Ba值的变化则表明江汉盆地在2.6~2.43 Ma B.P.时可能有咸化湖的发育,而在2.1 Ma B.P.左右存在过一段大湖发育期。  相似文献

The concentrations of major and trace elements were determined (aqua regia leach and ICP-AES analyses) in stream, lake and dredged sediments downstream of the historical Antskog iron- and copperworks, S.Finland. The levels of Ag, Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn are highly elevated in all studied sediment types: roughly half of the studied lake-sediment samples contain >5 ppm Ag, >15 ppm Cd, >0.1% Cu, >0.1% Pb and >0.3% Zn. In the dredged sediment material located onshore, the concentrations of Ag, Cu and Pb are comparable to those in the polluted lake-sediment samples, while in stream sediments elevated metal concentrations are found especially in samples characterised by high concentrations of organic material. The source of the elevated metal concentrations is the historical metalworks at Antskog, mainly the copperworks of the 19th century. Compared to the limit values for contaminated soils in Finland, the concentrations of Cu, Pb and Zn are on average elevated by factors >10 in the polluted horizons of lake sediments, >5 in the dredged sediment located onshore and >2 at the most heavily contaminated site in the stream. Since the surface waters in the area are used for agricultural purposes and for various leisure activities, it is necessary to make further detailed investigations into the extent of the metal pollution and to determine species, mobility and bioavailability of the metals.  相似文献

Results of research into recent sediments and their distribution in Lake Baikal are presented. Five areas with different mechanisms of sedimentation have been recognized: (1) deep-water plains with pelagic mud and turbidites; (2) littoral zones without turbidites; (3) underwater ridges (rises) with hemipelagic mud accumulated under calm sedimentation conditions; (4) delta (fan) areas near the mouths of large rivers, where sediments consist mainly of terrigenous material; and (5) shallow Maloe More with poorly sorted terrigenous material and abundant sand. The rate of sedimentation differs considerably in different Baikal areas. The highest rates appear near the mouths of large rivers, lower ones occur in the deep lake basins, and the minimum rates are developed on underwater ridges. A map of the distribution of Holocene sediments in Baikal has been compiled for the first time. The obtained results show that the bottom morphology significantly determines the type of sediments in the lake.  相似文献

The study of bottom sediments and suspended matter (SM) in the Hornsunn Fjord of western Spitsbergen reveals that SM is largely deposited in its central part. The model of recent sedimentation in the fjord is proposed based on the analysis of grain-size distribution, petrographic-mineralogical composition, physical properties of recent sediments, and benthic foraminiferal communities therein.  相似文献
