A variant of the Jordan-Brans-Dicke (JBD) theory is examined which contains a cosmological scalar that is written so that on going to the Einstein representation it becomes the ordinary cosmological constant of general relativity theory. This paper is divided into two parts. In Part I we examine the cosmological solutions for the Einstein representation of the JBD theory, i.e., in the presence of a minimally coupled scalar field. In Part II we shall study the cosmological solutions in the proper representation of the JBD theory with a self consistent scalar field. The analysis of these solutions is of interest in connection with modern concepts of the evolution of the universe, in particular, with the observed acceleration of cosmological expansion and estimates of the density of dark matter and dark energy.__________Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 48, No. 3, pp. 455–462 (August 2005).  相似文献

A class of new exact solutions of the Einstein field equations have been investigated for stationary cylindrically symmetric space-time around a local cosmic string in the theory based on Lyra’s geometry in normal gauge in the presence and absence of an electromagnetic field. The cosmological solutions have been analyzed through various physical and geometrical parameters. It has also been shown that the solutions are space-time inhomogeneous and filled with charged dust.  相似文献

Recent cosmological observations of large-scale structures (red shift of type Ia supernovae) confirm that the universe is currently expanding at an accelerating rate and its dominant component is dark energy. This has stimulated the development of the theory of gravity and led to many alternative variants, including tensor-scalar ones. This paper deals with the role of conformal transformations in the Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory. Variants of intrinsic, conformally coupled, and Einstein representations are examined. In the Einstein representation an exact analytic solution for the standard cosmological model is obtained. It is expressed in terms of the relative energy contributions of ordinary matter Ω m , the scalar field Ω CK , and a term ΩΛ related to the cosmological constant Λ . Information on the evolution of the universe for the case with a minimally coupled scalar field is given in the form of graphs.  相似文献

Exact solutions of the semi-classical Einstein equations for conformally invariant free quantum fields in an homogeneous and isotropic space-time, with cosmological constant and containing a classical scalar field, dust matter, an unquantised Dirac field and electromagnetic radiation are found. The initial behaviour of the semiclassical models is investigated. Some of the solutions found avoid the singularity and do not have particle horizons. The low-energy string gravitation is investigated for the case of reduction with a variable (in string units) inner space. A flat cosmological model of the corresponding four-dimensional theory is constructed. The model equations are analyzed qualitatively for a potential-dominated scalar field as the source. It is demonstrated that an extended inflation stage with one purely scalar dilaton field is possible here, in contrast with the case of a constant inner space. The pattern of cosmological evolution in various conformal representations is discussed.Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 38, No. 1, pp. 99–119, January–March, 1995.  相似文献

Cosmological solutions are examined in the proper representation of the JBD theory with a dominant nonminimally coupled scalar field. It is shown that only the introduction of a cosmological scalar that transforms to the ordinary cosmological constant in the Einstein representation enables a phase of evolution with a uniform and then an accelerated expansion of the universe over cosmological time scales. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 48, No. 4, pp. 633–640 (November 2005).  相似文献

On getting motivation from increasing evidence for the need of a geometry that resembles Bianchi morphology to explain the observed anisotropy in the WMAP data, Einstein’s field equations with variable cosmological “constant” are considered in presence of perfect fluid for a homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I space-time. Einstein’s field equations are solved by considering a time dependent deceleration parameter which affords a late time acceleration in the universe. The cosmological constant Λ is found to be a decreasing function of time and it approaches a small positive value at the present epoch which is corroborated by consequences from recent supernovae Ia observations. From recently developed Statefinder pair, the behavior of different stages of the evolution of the universe has been studied. The physical significance of the cosmological models have also been discussed.  相似文献

It is show that axisymmetric stationary vacuum solutions of the general scalar tensor theory of gravitation proposed by Nordvedt and later discussed by Barker and others can be obtained from the solutions of the axisymmetric stationary Einstein vacuum fields and also from the axisymmetric static vacuum fields of the general scalar tensor theory. The scalar tensor analogue of the Kerr solution has been obtained.  相似文献

It is known that the requirement of asymptotic flatness places restrictions on spherically-symmetric solutions to field equations. Here it is shown that the most general solution to the static spherically-symmetric massless scalar Einstein equations with zero cosmological constant is asymptotically flat; furthermore, the general solution is derived and shown to be identical to a solution previusly found by M. Wyman.  相似文献

We report results on the construction of cosmological braneworld models in the context of the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, which include the leading correction to the Einstein-Hilbert action suggested by superstring theory. We obtain and study the equations governing the dynamics of the standard cosmological models. We find that they can be written in the same form as in the case of the Randall-Sundrum model but with time-varying four-dimensional gravitational and cosmological constants. Finally, we discuss the cosmological evolution predicted by these models and their compatibility with observational data. We utilise a form for the Hubble parameter to generate a number of solutions to the Einstein field equations with variable cosmological constant and variable gravitational constant. The Hubble law utilised yields a constant value for the deceleration parameter. A variety of solutions is presented in the Robertson-Walker spacetimes. A generalisation of the cosmic scale factor is utilised in the anisotropic Bianchi I spacetime to illustrate that new solutions may also be found in spacetimes with less symmetry than Robertson-Walker. We also show that the constant deceleration parameter used is consistent with alternate theories of gravity by considering the scalar-tensor theory of Lau and Prokhovnik with ak = 0 Robertson-Walker background.  相似文献

Explicit field equations of a scalar tensor theory of gravitation proposed by Saez and Ballester are obtained with the aid of Einstein–Rosen cylindrically symmetric metric in the presence of cosmic string source. The field equations being highly non–linear static and non–static cases have been considered separately. It is observed that in the static case the geometric strings do not exist while in the non–static case cosmological model does not exist in this theory.  相似文献

The scalar field theory on the background of cosmological models with n(n ≥ 1) spaces of constant curvature is considered. We take the integrable case of Ricci flat internal spaces. The coupling between the scalar and the gravitational fields includes the minimal coupling as well as the conformal case. In the ground state of the scalar field we find the conditions for vacuum instability realized for most of the possible solutions to Einstein's equations if the coupling parameter takes appropriate values. For the excited states of the scalar field we show the induction of massive modes and discuss their properties.  相似文献

Exact solutions of the semi-classical Einstein equations with cosmological constant for conformally invariant free quantum fields in a general Robertson-Walker metric are found when a classical perfect fluid is present. There exist a one-parameter family of time-symmetric bouncing solutions that avoid the singularity and a one-parameter family which does not have particles horizons. The de Sitter solution is found to be stable, while the Einstein universe is unstable.  相似文献

The Bianchi type-V cosmological model with viscous fluid and creation particle in Brans-Dicke theory has been considered. The present paper deals with Bianchi type-V cosmological model with bulk viscosity and particle creation described by full causal thermodynamics in Brans-Dicke theory. We have discussed two types of solutions of the average scale factor for a Bianchi type-V model by using a variation law of Hubble’s parameter, which yields a constant value of the deceleration parameter. The exact solutions to the corresponding field equations are obtained in quadrature form. The solutions to the Einstein field equations are obtained for power law and exponential form. The cosmological parameters have been discussed in detail.  相似文献

We consider a cosmological model in which a scalar field is non-minimally coupled to scalar torsion and a vector field through two coupling functions in the framework of teleparallel gravity. The explicit forms of the coupling functions and the scalar field potential are explored, under the assumption that the Lagrangian admits the Noether symmetry in the Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) space–time. The existence of such symmetry allows to solve the equations of motion and achieve exact solutions of the scale factor, scalar and vector fields. It is found that the vector field contributes significantly in the accelerating expansion of the universe in the early times, while the scalar field plays an essential role in the late times.  相似文献

An exact cosmological solution for Friedman Robertson Walker (FRW)metric is obtained with a classical scalar field φ along with a potential in the presence of a causal viscous fluid. Assuming the scale factor to be a function of the scalar field we have obtained solutions in both the truncated and the full causal theory. It is shown that an inflationary model can be obtained by imposing certain constraints on some constants. The radiative bulk viscosity during the decoupling era has also been studied as a special case. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Investigation of dark energy models in the presence of scalar fields are attracting several kinds of research because they play a vital role in the discussion of a new scenario of accelerated expansion of the universe. In this paper, we obtain an exact plane-symmetric dark energy cosmological model in the presence of an attractive massive scalar field by solving Einstein field equations using some physically relevant conditions. We have obtained all the cosmological parameters corresponding to the model. We have also presented a physical discussion of our model using a graphical representation of these parameters. The results exhibit an expanding and accelerating dark energy model of the universe, which are consistent with modern cosmological observations.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate Bianchi type-VI cosmological model for the universe filled with dark energy and viscous fluid in the presence of cosmological constant. Also, we show accelerating expansion of the universe by drawing volume scale, pressure and energy density versus cosmic time. In order to solve the Einstein’s field equations, we assume the expansion scalar is proportional to a component of the shear tensor. Therefore, we obtain the directional scale factors and show the EOS parameter crosses over phantom divided-line.  相似文献

Einstein field equations are considered for zero-curvature Robertson-Walker models in the case of a viscous fluid distribution interacting with zero-rest-mass scalar fields. Exact solutions are obtained for two different phases of the early universe viz. the inflationary phase and the radiation-dominated phase, by using the 'gamma-law' equation of state p = (-1). The index describing the material content varies continuously with cosmological time. The gravitational 'constant' and bulk viscosity are both allowed to depend on the cosmic time. Some physical properties of the cosmological models are also discussed.  相似文献
