The bipole-dipole resistivity technique, which uses a single current source (bipole) to map variations in (apparent) resistivity has been much criticized in the past. A series of 3D models are used to show that the use of two distinct current bipoles in the same location but with different orientations, combined with analysis in the form of a previously defined tensor apparent resistivity, can greatly improve many aspects of bipole-dipole mapping. The model study shows that, for measurement stations more than a few bipole lengths from the current source, the apparent resistivity tensor behaves, to a close approximation, as though the current bipoles are idealized dipoles, and hence is independent of the orientation of the individual current sources used. Any pair of current bipoles (in the same location but with different orientations) can therefore be used to determine the tensor resistivity properties. The invariants of the apparent resistivity tensor have considerable advantages over the normal scalar apparent resistivities. Modelling shows that although the electric field vector corresponding to a single current bipole can be highly perturbed by a local inhomogeneity for some considerable distance beyond the inhomogeneity itself, the tensor invariants are virtually unperturbed beyond the extent of the inhomogeneity. Hence false anomalies, which are a characteristic of apparent resistivity measured using only single current bipole models, are almost completely eliminated by the use of tensor invariants. Of the possible tensor invariants, the invariant given by the square root of the determinant gives the best representation of a buried 3D body. Resistivity anomalies are localized, and occur only over the causative body. Even with complex models involving several buried bodies, the tensor invariants clearly delineate the extent of each body. Outside the bounds of perturbing bodies, the tensor data can be analysed by conventional techniques, for example, to determine layered structure.  相似文献

地表起伏地形在野外矿产资源勘察中不可避免,其对直流电阻率法勘探影响巨大.近年来,电阻率三维正演取得诸多进展,特别是应用非结构网格我们能够进行任意复杂地形和几何模型的电阻率三维数值模拟,但面向实际应用的起伏地形下电阻率三维反演依然困难.本文基于非结构化四面体网格,并考虑到应用GPS/GNSS时,区域地球物理调查中可非规则布设测网的实际特点,实现了任意地形(平坦或起伏)条件下、任意布设的偶极-偶极视电阻率数据的不完全Gauss-Newton三维反演.合成数据的反演结果表明了方法的有效性,可应用于复杂野外环境下的三维电法勘探.  相似文献

Two-layer type curves of apparent frequency effect for the Wenner configuration are presented. The formulation is based on the normal definition of frequency effect in terms of resistivities measured at different frequencies plus the definition of apparent resistivity over two horizontal layers as a function of first and second layer resistivities. The use of these type curves in the interpretation of multilayer apparent frequency-effect curves is described and some field examples are given.  相似文献

A simple filter is developed which transforms VLF-EM real magnetic field transfer functions into apparent resistivities. It is based on the relationship between the horizontal derivative of the surface electric field and the vertical magnetic field at the surface of a two-dimensional earth model. The performance of this simple autoregressive filter is tested for modelled and real survey data. The technique yields profiles of apparent resistivity very similar, both in magnitude and in wavelength, to those which would have been obtained using VLF-EM resistivity measurements or d.c. resistivity profiling. This low-pass filter has the advantage of reducing high-wavenumber noise in the data; therefore only the major features of the VLF-EM profile are displayed.  相似文献

大地电磁法是广泛应用于深部地质结构探测、油气和矿产资源勘查等领域的一种地球物理方法.电性各向异性对电磁观测数据有很大影响,但介质各向异性参数对不同模式视电阻率的影响还较少有较为系统的研究.本文基于Maxwell方程组,推导了二维大地电磁场在任意各向异性介质中电场和磁场相互耦合的变分方程,结合有限单元法及并行计算编写了二维大地电磁任意各向异性正演程序,采用三角形网格剖分.验证程序正确性后,以倾斜板状体作为模型来研究三个主轴电阻率及三个旋转欧拉角和四种模式的视电阻率之间的关系.结果表明,主轴各向异性时,xy模式视电阻率几乎只受x方向电阻率影响,yx模式视电阻率主要受y方向电阻率影响,但同时也受z方向电阻率一定影响;三个欧拉角中只有倾角不为零时,yx模式视电阻率受倾角大小的影响较大,xy模式视电阻率几乎不受倾角的影响;只有走向角不为零时,四种模式的视电阻率同时受x、y两个主轴电阻率和走向角的大小的影响.  相似文献

The problem of interpretation of geoelectrical resistivity soundings has been studied and a compromise method of interpretation developed. A simple depth sequence of increasing bed thickness is taken and resistivities assigned to the various layers so that a good fit is obtained to the observed apparent resistivity curve. An initial estimate of the resistivities is made by a direct method but the model is then altered to give an improved fit by the indirect method of curve matching. The whole method is computerized and input data to the computer program consists of spacings and apparent resistivities. The method is extremely rapid, about one third of the computation time is devoted to obtaining the resistivity transform by the method of convolution. A normal type of solution, incorporating additional information if necessary, can also be obtained.  相似文献

On the basis of the dispersion relations of MT field, the necessity and applied prospects of the joint inversions using a pair of MT response functions which are correlative with the dispersion relations, are infered. A filter coefficient algorithm is made, with which the corresponding impedance phase data can be estimated using a set of apparent resistivities. The tests for the observed MT data show that when comparing the impedance phase estimated using the dispersion relation with the ob served phase, it can be checked whether the dispersion relation between observed apparent resistivity and phase data is satisfied or not, and that the use of the phase data corrected using the dispersion relation in the joint inversion is advantageous to obtain more confident results. It is shown that joint inversions are more advantageous than single parameter inversions, and that in the most case the joint inversion using the apparent resistivities of impedance real and imaginary parts is more advantageous than the jointinversion using the normal apparent resistivity and impedance phase. The existence of the dipersion relations between the ratio apparent resistivity and corresponding impedance phase of the orthogonal electric and magnetic field horizontal Components in the frequency EM sounding with horizontal electric dipole(FEMS) are discussed, the better effect of the joint inversion using the pair of EM response functions is obtained. The problems on the one-dimensional joint inversion for the MT and FEMS apparent resistivities, for which the observed frequency bands partly overlape each other, are studied. It is shown that this joint inversion is applicable and effective:the joint inversions of the practical data for two kinds of EM methods at two sites give the results well corresponding to the drilling data. The simulated MT inversions for the data of two kinds of EM methods are made, and more confident results also are obtained.  相似文献

Electromagnetic (EM) fields radiated from the transmission lines of the New Zealand electricity grid have been digitally recorded at test sites near the Tokaanu geothermal field. Amplitudes and phases of the 50 Hz signals (and the odd harmonics up to 450 Hz) were determined using a software implementation of a phase-locked filter. These data were then analysed to determine the components of the magnetotelluric impedance tensor and the corresponding apparent resistivities and phases. At most sites, there was sufficient variation in the elliptical polarization of the EM fields to enable the impedance tensors to be determined in full. Sites where the EM data had been affected by near-source effects were identified by having large vertical magnetic field components and by being closer to a power line source than about 3–5 skin depths. With the test measurements, the north-eastern part of the Tokaanu geothermal field was successfully delineated giving low resistivities (< 5 Ωm) on the inside and higher resistivities on the outside, in agreement with the Schlumberger array DC apparent resistivities. The small size of the 50 Hz magnetotelluric equipment and its portable nature make this method of resistivity measurement suitable for reconnaissance resistivity mapping in places with difficult access.  相似文献

本文给出一种双感应资料快速近似迭代反演技术. 首先建立Fréchet导数的快速算法,保证在反演过程中能够同时获得测井响应相对于地层电阻率和层界面的偏导数,并给出用规范化处理与奇异值分解技术进行迭代反演的具体过程. 为了对理论模拟和井场实际资料进行反演,利用综合分层技术从双感应曲线中提取层界面初始位置和地层电阻率初值,通过单独迭代反演中感应资料,修改层界面和地层电阻率实现中感应资料的最佳拟合,得到探测深度相对较浅的地层电阻率,然后固定层界面位置,再迭代反演深感应资料,得到另一组探测深度相对较深的地层电阻率. 理论和实际资料处理结果证明,两个不同探测深度的电阻率反演结果的相对大小能够准确地反映地层真实的侵入特征.此外,由于深感应仪器具有较深的探测深度,不论在高侵或低侵地层上,深感应反演结果与地层原状电阻率的差异大大小于视电阻率的差异,所以利用反演结果也能得到更好的地层原状电阻率的估计值.  相似文献

In this paper a technique for computing type curves for the two-electrode resistivity soundings is presented. It is shown that the apparent resistivity due to the system can be represented by a convolution integral. Thus, it is possible to apply the principle of digital linear filtering and compute the desired type-curves. The filter function required for the purpose is found to be identical with that used to compute the EM sounding curves for the two coplanar horizontal loop system. It is further shown that from the two-electrode apparent-resistivity expression one can easily derive the apparent resistivities for other configurations. A comparison of depths of investigation for various systems reveals that the two-electrode system has greater depth of investigation than other conventional systems. This is also supported by the field example presented in the end, which illustrates the relative performance of the two-electrode system vis-a-vis the Wenner system.  相似文献

In all electrical methods (EM, MT, DC), a theoretical one-to-one relation links the apparent resistivity diagram at a station with the local distribution of the resistivities in a tabular earth. Unfortunately, the actual field diagrams derive from a few measurements of limited accuracy and the one-to-one relation vanishes. Calculating the distribution of the earth resistivities from the field diagrams is thus an undetermined problem, which experience has shown to be partly controlled by approximate laws of “equivalence”. The use of these rough rules can produce only a very restricted number of the resistivity distributions that correspond to calculated diagrams which do not differ from a given field curve by more than a tolerable discrepancy. On the other hand, the full set of such “equivalent” solutions is given automatically by a computer program. Tests made on field examples prove that a few geological data generally reduce the wide range of undetermination.  相似文献

The technique of digital linear filtering is used for transformation of apparent resistivity data from one electrode configuration into another. Usually filter spectra are determined via the discrete Fourier transforms of input and output functions: the filter characteristic is the quotient of the spectra of the output function and input function. In this paper, the transformation of the apparent resistivities is presented for four electrode configurations (Wenner, the two-electrode, Schlumberger, and dipole configurations). In our method, there is no need to use the discrete Fourier transform of the input and output functions in order to determine the filter spectrum for converting apparent resistivity in one electrode configuration to any other configuration. Sine responses for determination of the derivative of apparent resistivities are given in analytical form. If the filter spectrum for converting the apparent resistivity to the resistivity transform for one electrode configuration is known, the filter spectra for transforming the apparent resistivity to the resistivity transform for any electrode configurations can be calculated by using newly derived expressions.  相似文献

Analytical solutions of vertical electrical soundings (VES) have mostly been applied to groundwater exploration and monitoring groundwater quality on terrains of fairly simple geology and geomorphology on which the electrode arrays are symmetrical (e.g. Schlumberger or Wenner configurations). The sounding interpretation assumes flat topography and horizontally stratified layers. Any deviations from these simple situations may be impossible to interpret analytically. The recently developed GEA-58 geoelectrical instrument can make continuous soundings along a profile with any colinear electrode configuration. This paper describes the use of finite-difference and finite-element methods to model complex earth resistivity distributions in 2D, in order to calculate apparent resistivity responses to any colinear current electrode distribution in terrains in which the earth resistivities do not vary along the strike. The numerical model results for simple situations are compared with the analytical solutions. In addition, a pseudo-depth section of apparent resistivities measured in the field with the GEA-58 is compared with the numerical solution of a real complex resistivity distribution along a cross-section. The model results show excellent agreement with the corresponding analytical and experimental data.  相似文献

With the aim of studying the behaviour of geoelectric axial dipole vertical soundings over complex geology, a systematic theoretical approach is presented for a class of earth structures characterized by horizontal and vertical parallel boundary planes. The two-dimensional cylindrical bodies of infinite length and rectangular cross-section are constrained to have resistivities satisfying Alfano's condition at every intersection line of the graticule, in order to adopt the image-point theory. A detailed analysis is performed for models with any number of horizontal boundaries and two vertical discontinuities. The apparent resistivity formulas are obtained and selected apparent resistivity curves are drawn for different parameter combinations and various directions of the sounding expansion axis. The class under consideration contains as a particular case the HVC model elaborated in Alpin's monograph, where only a small collection of master curves is available for the axial array. The reconstruction of those curves by the present formulation shows the existence of large discrepancies. A test based on the transformation to equivalent half-Schlumberger sounding curves supports the conclusion that an unidentified error must exist in some part of the theoretical approach of the Russian researchers. Finally, some field sounding curves based on geothermal and volcanological surveys are presented and interpreted by complete curve matching, essentially to show the applicability of the theoretical solutions.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to investigate the applicability of four-electrode arrays in 3D electrical resistivity imaging survey. A 3D resistivity imaging survey was carried out along fourteen parallel lines using dipole-dipole, Wenner-Schlumberger, and Wenner arrays with 2 m minimum electrode spacings. Roll-along measurements using a line spacing of 1 m were carried out covering a grid of 20 × 14 electrodes. The 3D least squares algorithm, based on the robust inversion method, was used in the inversion of the 3D apparent resistivity data sets. The results show that the 3D electrical resistivity imaging survey using the Wenner-Schlumberger and the dipole-dipole arrays, or the Wenner and the dipole-dipole arrays, in combination with an appropriate 3D inversion method, can be highly useful when the site conditions do not allow using the pole-pole or pole-dipole arrays.  相似文献

A horizontal transmitter loop (vertical magnetic dipole) is used for frequency electromagnetic (FEM) soundings. The frequency ranges from approximately 6 Hz to about 4000 Hz. The vertical and radial magnetic field components are measured for 20 frequencies per decade several hundred meters from the transmitter loop. A very small bandwidth is selected for amplification using a reference signal. An Apple computer is used for data acquisition. A computer program for Marquardt inversion optimizes the parameters for the n-layer case: the resistivities and thicknesses of individual beds and a correction factor for the primary magnetic field. Interpretation of each component individually yields practically the same parameters. Examples from the field are given with interpretation; comparison with dc resistivity measurements is provided. The ratio of vertical/radial magnetic field components vs. frequency can be transformed simply into apparent resistivity vs. apparent depth. This can be done in the field to obtain an estimation of the depth of the layer boundaries. FEM results are compared with Schlumberger d.c. sounding obtained at the same site.  相似文献

The sensitivity of transversal apparent resistivity to the changes in the electrical resistivity of elements of a two-dimensional (2D) geoelectrical structure is studied by numerical modeling. This sensitivity is found to have a series of specific features, due to which the monitoring of transversal apparent resistivity can serve as a helpful addition to the monitoring of longitudinal apparent resistivity to trace the dynamics of subsurface and shallow crustal elements of the medium. It is shown that the method previously suggested for the inversion of relative changes in apparent resistivity into relative changes in electrical resistivities of the elements of the geoelectrical structure is applicable to the transversal electrical resistivity.  相似文献

The advantages of the Wenner tripotential method (Carpenter 1955) for apparent resistivity profiling are described and two new data processing techniques introduced as an aid to the interpretation of apparent resistivity sections (pseudo-sections). These techniques were developed from model data computed using a two-dimensional finite difference method. Oscillatory components present in anomalies on tripotential profiles and related to electrode spacing are shown to be effectively removed by linear filtering that also simplifies their form and aids recognition. Furthermore, it is shown that the ratio of the beta- and gamma-apparent resistivities is a good indicator of resistivity variation, and is particularly sensitive to lateral change. Model data indicates that, over a wide range of conditions, enough subsurface information can be obtained by inspection of tripotential resistivity and ratio profiles, and from space sections to make possible a useful—and sometimes semi-quantitative—interpretation. A rationale for the general interpretation of tripotential data is developed. Field data are described from an area of weathered granite basement in Nigeria. A model of the subsurface is developed using parameters derived from the processed observations. The observed and calculated apparent resistivity space sections are very similar.  相似文献
