利用区域海洋模式ROMS(Regional Ocean Modelling System)及其四维变分同化模块,建立了具有资料同化能力的东中国海风暴潮数值模式,通过将海洋站水位观测资料同化到风暴潮模式中,提高了模式对风暴潮的模拟精度。四维变分同化技术能够在整个同化时间窗口保持动力协调,使模拟结果在该时间窗口内最大程度的靠近观测,同时,得到了最优预报初始场。利用该模式,对两次温带风暴潮过程进行了数值模拟,结果表明:在同化窗口内,同化对模拟精度有明显的提高;结束同化之后,得到的最优预报初始场对临近预报精度也有一定提高。  相似文献

为了研究四维变分同化方法在南海北部海洋数值预报中的适用性,使用海洋区域模式(ROMS),建立了南海北部海洋资料四维变分同化系统,进行了温盐廓线和海面温度数据同化试验,初步对比分析了三种四维变分实现方法的同化效果。研究结果表明,四维变分同化方法具有较好的同化效果,其中,增量强约束方法(I4DVar)具有较好的稳定性,其稳定性高于4DPSAS和R4DVar。本文研究成果为建立南海业务化海洋四维变分同化及预报系统奠定技术基础。  相似文献

介绍了国家气候中心(NCC)“全球海洋资料四维同化系统”(简称NCC-GODAS).该系统包含观测资料预处理系统、插值分析系统和所应用的动力模式.插值分析系统采用四维同化技术方案,在时间上设置一个4周的窗口,将此窗口之内的观测资料以一定的权重插入插值分析系统,在空间上采用三维变分方案.海洋动力模式为“九五”期间LASG研制的L30T63OGCM 1 0版本.文中考察了该系统从1982年到2003年3月在热带太平洋的部分同化分析结果,并与NCEP的再分析资料和EMC/NCEP的太平洋区域海洋资料同化系统的结果进行了对比分析.结果显示,该系统的同化结果(如SST,SSTA,Nino指数,次表层海温变化等)与NCEP的同期同化结果具有很好的一致性.同时,该系统得出的海洋同化资料气候场与海洋模式气候场相比,有显著的改进.表明该系统具有较好的同化能力,其同化结果可为海-气耦合模式进行季节和跨季节的气候预测业务提供可信的海洋初始场资料,同时还可以为相关研究提供海洋分析场.  相似文献

在海洋动力系统的数值模拟中,海洋资料同化是一种能够有效融合多源海洋观测资料和数值模式的方法。它不仅可以显著地提高数值模拟的效果,构造海洋再分析资料场,还能有效减少海洋和气候预报时模式初始条件的不确定性。因此,海洋资料同化对于海洋研究和业务化应用具有非常重要的意义。资料同化方法的研究一直是大气、海洋科学的热门课题之一。其中,集合卡尔曼滤波器(EnKF)是一种有效的资料同化方法,自提出以来经过了20多年的发展和改进,已经在海洋资料同化中得到了广泛的研究和应用。近年来,随着动力模式的不断发展和计算能力的提高,粒子滤波器由于不受模型线性和误差高斯分布假设的约束,也逐渐成为了当前资料同化方法研究的热点。本文分析和总结了目前关于集合卡尔曼滤波器和粒子滤波器的一些最新理论研究结果,在贝叶斯滤波理论的框架下讨论了这两类算法的关联和区别,以及各自在资料同化实践中的优势和不足。在此基础上,我们探讨了粒子滤波器应用于海洋模式资料同化的主要困难和目前可行的一些解决方法,展望了集合资料同化方法研究的新趋势,为集合资料同化方法的进一步发展和应用提供理论基础。  相似文献

文章基于中尺度天气预报模式(WRF)及其三维变分同化系统(WRF-3DVAR), 采用了两部雷达径向风资料, 进行单一时间分析以初始化台风“灿都”(Chanthu), 比较研究了同化雷达径向速度(Vr)对台风“灿都”分析和预报的影响。结果表明: 同化雷达径向风的作用主要体现在台风强度和环流结构的调整, 且在同化达到一定时长后, 对改进同化后的预报分析有积极效应。同化试验改进台风的初始风场以及台风环流中心的热力和动力结构、强度和位置, 进而提高18h预报的台风结构、路径、强度。  相似文献

从上海台风所的台风路径统计动力预报模型SD-90出发,利用变分同化方法结合反问题正则化思想和最优控制技巧(而非统计方法),反演出台风所受到的除科氏力以外所有力的合力及台风的初始速度,用实际台风定位资料分析不同的正则化参数及最优控制参数的组合对同化结果的影响,分析不同路径特征台风路径的拟合效果。该方法具有模式简单、应用资料少、拟合精度高等优点,为台风路径的预报提供了新的思路。  相似文献

传统的四维变分数据同化方法在同化观测资料的同时可以对数值模式参数进行优化,然而传统的四维变分方法需要针对不同的数值模式编写特有的伴随模式,因此算法的可移植性差,同时计算时耗费大量资源。本文提出了一种新的基于解析四维集合变分的参数优化方法,该方法以迭代搜索得到的模式参数为基准展开扰动并构建样本集合,由此显式地计算协方差矩阵,并得到代价函数极小值的解析解,从而避免了伴随模式的使用。基于Lorenz-63模型对该方法进行单参数和多参数数值试验和优化效果检验,并在不同的同化时间窗口长度和观测采样间隔情况下,采用传统四维变分方法与之进行对比,结果显示,新方法表现出与传统四维变分相同的优化性能,都能有效收敛到真值,而新方法不需要计算伴随模式,可移植性好。本文还测试了不同的集合成员个数和模式参数真值的情况下新方法的同化效果,结果表明,新方法对集合样本个数及模型参数真值不敏感,采用较少的集合样本即可完成数据同化。  相似文献

A four-dimensional variational data assimilation system has been applied to an experiment to describe the dynamic state of the North Pacific Ocean. A synthesis of available observational records and a sophisticated ocean general circulation model produces a dynamically consistent dataset, which, in contrast to the nudging approach, provides realistic features of the seasonally-varying ocean circulation with no artificial sources/sinks for temperature and salinity fields. This new dataset enables us to estimate heat and water mass transports in addition to the qualification of water mass formation and movement processes. A sensitivity experiment on our assimilation system reveals that the origin of the North Pacific Intermediate Water can be traced back to the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea in the subarctic region and to the subtropical Kuroshio region further south. These results demonstrate that our data assimilation system is a very powerful tool for the identification and characterization of ocean variabilities and for our understanding of the dynamic state of ocean circulation. This study revisits the problem of assimilation of asynchronous observations, or four-dimensional data assimilation, with the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF). We show that for a system with perfect model and linear dynamics the ensemble Kalman smoother (EnKS) provides a simple and efficient solution for the problem: one just needs to use the ensemble observations (that is, the forecast observations for each ensemble member) from the time of observation during the update, for each assimilated observation. This recipe can be used for assimilating both past and future data; in the context of assimilating generic asynchronous observations we refer to it as the asynchronous EnKF. The asynchronous EnKF is essentially equivalent to the four-dimensional variational data assimilation (4D-Var). It requires only one forward integration of the system to obtain and store the data necessary for the analysis, and therefore is feasible for large-scale applications. Unlike 4D-Var, the asynchronous EnKF requires no tangent linear or adjoint model.  相似文献

Models and methods of the numerical modeling of ocean hydrodynamics dating back to the pioneering works of A.S. Sarkisyan are considered, with emphasis on the formulation of problems and algorithms of mathematical modeling and the four-dimensional variational assimilation of observational data. An algorithm is proposed for studying the sensitivity of the optimal solution to observational data errors in a seasurface temperature assimilation problem in order to retrieve heat fluxes on the surface. An example of a solution of the optimal problem of the World Ocean hydrodynamics with the assimilation of climatic temperature and salinity observations is offered.  相似文献

The cycling representer algorithm of Xu and Daley (2000) is a weak constraint four-dimensional variational data assimilation algorithm. It was successfully applied to a one-dimensional transport problem and was able to successfully extract the signal from noisy and sparse observations. The algorithm, however, has not previously been applied to a multivariate, multidimensional system with dynamic instability. The algorithm is also very computationally demanding and awaits considerable enhancement in computer power before being practical for operational forecast models. We have two objectives in this paper. The first is to apply the cycling representer algorithm to a two-dimensional, multivariate barotropically unstable linear shallow water system. The second objective is to formulate and test an accelerated representer algorithm that is much more computationally tractable than the cycling representer algorithm itself. A linear shallow water system with a barotropically unstable basic state was used as a test bed to conduct data assimilation experiments. The evolution of a 'neutral' eastward-propagating singular vector was selected as the 'truth', against which all data assimilation experiments were to be evaluated. The results indicated that the cycling representer algorithm was capable of providing satisfying state estimates for a multivariate, multidimensional system. The results from the accelerated representer algorithm were very encouraging because it is sufficiently computationally tractable to be used on present day multi-processor machines for operational applications.  相似文献

We implement an approach for the accurate assimilation of Lagrangian data into regional general ocean circulation models. The forward model is expressed in Lagrangian coordinates and simulated float data are incorporated into the model via four-dimensional variational data assimilation. We show that forward solutions computed in Lagrangian coordinates are reliable for time periods of up to 100 days with phase speeds of 1 m/s and deformation radius of 35 km. The position and depth of simulated floats are assimilated into the viscous, Lagrangian shallow water equations. The weights for the errors in the model and data are varied and the assimilation results react appropriately. We show the effect of different spatial and temporal samplings of float data on all Lagrangian trajectories in the computational domain. At the end of the assimilation period, results from the Lagrangian shallow water equations could be interpolated and used as initial and boundary conditions in an Eulerian general ocean circulation model.  相似文献
