Eighteen regions (bipolar outflows and methanol masers) are mapped in the CS(2-1) line using the 20-m Onsala radio telescope. The coordinates of the CS emission peaks are refined. The sizes and masses of dense regions are estimated for 13 maps. Measurement of the angular sizes of regions of emission indicates that all the sources were resolved by the Onsala radio telescope. The lower limit for the linear dimensions of the CS condensations studied is 0.2–2.1 pc. The hydrogen densities and masses of the CS condensations are estimated to be n(H2)=(0.3–13.1)×104 cm?3 and (M ≈ 7–2800M ). Methanol masers are associated with denser and more massive regions, whether or not the maser condensation is connected with a bipolar outflow.  相似文献

We present the results of monitoring the H2O masers in the IR sources IRAS 18265-1517 and IRAS 18277-1516 associated with the cool molecular cloud L 379, which contains high-velocity bipolar molecular jets. The sources were observed in the 1.35 cm H2O line using the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) during 1991–2004. We detected H2O maser emission from IRAS 18265-1517 at radial velocities of 17.8 and 18.4 km/s, virtually coincident with the velocity of the molecular cloud derived from CO-line observations (18.4 km/s). The maser emission towards the other source, IRAS 18277-1516, was at higher velocities than the central velocity of the CO molecular cloud. The H2O maser spots are most likely associated with a redshifted region of CO emission. Cyclic variability of the integrated H2O maser emission that may be related to cyclic activity of the central star was detected for IRAS 18277-1516. The strongest and most long-lived component (VLSR ≈ 20.6 km/s) displays a radial-velocity drift, which could be due to deceleration of a dense clump of matter (maser condensation) in the circumstellar medium during the descending branch of a strong flare. We found numerous emission features for both IRAS 18265-1517 and IRAS 18277-1516, providing evidence for fragmentation of the medium surrounding their central objects.  相似文献

We have carried out detailed studies of a star-forming region containing two maser sources in the constellation Norma. The sources display a complex spectral distribution of the maser lines and spatial distribution of the maser condensations. The maser condensations may have formed around objects that are hidden by dense molecular cocoons; the velocities of the maser features may represent Keplerian orbital motions. The cocoons, which radiate in thermal methanol and CS lines, correspond to the centers of mass in the maser sources + dense molecular core systems. The velocities of the CS lines or thermal methanol lines can be used to identify the locations of the centers of mass of these systems. If the maser radiation is generated in the atmospheres of protoplanets, the Norma radio source may correspond to two protoplanetary disks, each with a protostar and protoplanetary system. In this case, the masses of the protostars are approximately 13 M and 38 M.  相似文献

We present results of a survey of 14 star-forming regions from the Perseus spiral armin CS (2–1) and 13CO (1–0) lines with the Onsala Space Observatory 20 m telescope. Maps of 10 sources in both lines are obtained. For the remaining sources a map in just one line or a single-point spectrum is obtained. On the basis of newly obtained and published observational data we consider the relation between velocities of the “quasi-thermal” CS (2–1) line and 6.7 GHz methanol maser line in 24 high-mass star-forming regions in the Perseus arm. We show that, surprisingly, velocity ranges of 6.7 GHz methanol maser emission are predominantly red-shifted with respect to corresponding CS (2–1) line velocity ranges in the Perseus arm. We suggest that the predominance of the “red-shifted masers” in the Perseus arm could be related to the alignment of gas flows caused by the large-scalemotions in the Galaxy. Large-scale galactic shock related to the spiral structure is supposed to affect the local kinematics of the star-forming regions. Part of the Perseus arm, between galactic longitudes from 85° to 124° , does not contain blue-shifted masers at all. Radial velocities of the sources are the greatest in this particular part of the arm, so the velocity difference is clearly pronounced. 13CO (1–0) and CS (2–1) velocity maps of G183.35-0.58 show gas velocity difference between the center and the periphery of the molecular clump up to 1.2 km s?1. Similar situation is likely to occur in G85.40-0.00. This can correspond to the case when the large-scale shock wave entrains the outer parts of a molecular clump in motion while the dense central clump is less affected by the shock.  相似文献

Five regions of massive-star formation have been observed in various molecular lines in the frequency range~85?89 GHz. The studied regions comprise dense cores, which host young stellar objects. The physical parameters of the cores are estimated, including the kinetic temperatures (~20?40 K), the sizes of the emitting regions (~0.1?0.6 pc), and the virial masses (~40?500 M). The column densities and abundances of various molecules are calculated assuming Local Thermodynamical Equilibrium(LTE). The core in 99.982+4.17, which is associated with the weakest IRAS source, is characterized by reduced molecular abundances. The molecular line widths decrease with increasing distance from the core centers (b). For b ? 0.1 pc, the dependences ΔV (b) are close to power laws (∝b?p), where p varies from ~0.2 to ~0.5, depending on the object. In four cores, the asymmetries of the optically thick HCN(1–0) and HCO+(1–0) lines indicates systematicmotions along the line of sight: collapse in two cores and expansion in two others. Approximate estimates of the accretion rates in the collapsing cores indicate that the forming stars have masses exceeding the solar mass.  相似文献

The results of a survey of 63 Galactic star-forming regions in the 6K–5K and 5 K –4K methyl acetylene lines at 102.5 and 85.5 GHz are presented. Fourty-three sources were detected at 102.5 GHz, and twenty-five at 85.5 GHz. Emission was detected toward molecular clouds with kinetic temperatures of 20–60 K (so-called “warm clouds”). The CH3CCH abundances in these clouds are about several ×10?9. Five sources (NGC 2264, G30.8-0.1, G34.26+0.15, DR 21(OH), S140) were mapped using the maximum-entropy method. The sizes of the mapped clouds fall in the range 0.1–1.7 pc, and the clouds have virial masses of 90–6200 M and densities between 6×104 and 6×105 cm?3. The CH3CCH sources coincide spatially with the CO and CS sources. Chemical-evolution simulations show that the typical methyl acetylene abundances in the observed clouds correspond to ages of ≈6×104 years.  相似文献

The results of observations of the H2O and OH maser sources toward the region of W33C (G12.8-0.2) are reported. The observations were carried out on the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory in the 1.35-cm water-vapor line and on the Large Radio Telescope at Nan?ay (France), in the main (1665 and 1667 MHz) and satellite (1612 and 1720 MHz) OH lines. Multiple, strongly variable, short-lived H2O emission features were detected in a broad interval of radial velocities, from ?7 to 55 km/s. OH maser emission in the 1667-MHz line was detected at velocities of 35?C41 km/s. The Stokes parameters of the maser emission in the main OH lines 1665 and 1667 MHz were measured. Zeeman splitting was detected in the 1665-MHz line at 33.4 and 39.4 km/s, and in the 1667 MHz line only at 39.4 km/s. The magnetic-field intensity was estimated. Appreciable variability of the Zeeman splitting components was observed at 39 and 39.8 km/s in both main lines. The extended spectrum and fast variability of the H2O maser emission, together with the variability of the Zeeman-splitting components in the main OH lines, may indicate a composite clumpy structure of the molecular cloud and the presence of large-scale rotation, bipolar outflows, and turbulent motions of material in this cloud.  相似文献

The results of a study of the maser source IRAS 18316?0602 in the H2O line at λ = 1.35 cm are reported. The observations were carried out on the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) from June 2002 until March 2017. Three superflares were detected, in 2002, 2010, and 2016, with peak flux densities of >3400, 19 000, and 46 000 Jy, respectively. An analysis of these superflares is presented. The flares took place during periods of high maser activity in a narrow interval of radial velocities (40.5–42.5 km/s), and could be associated with the passage of a strong shock. The emission of three groups of features at radial velocities of about 41, 42, and 43 km/s dominated during themonitoring. The flare in 2016 was accompanied by a considerable increase in the flux densities of several features with velocities of 35–56 km/s.  相似文献

A new OH maser was detected in January 2008 toward the infrared source IRAS 05338-0624 in the dark cloud L1641N. The observations were carried out on the Nan cay Radio Telescope (France) in the 1667 and 1665 MHz OH lines. In the spectra of both lines, thermal OH emission from the surrounding molecular cloud is present at radial velocities V LSR = 6–9 km/s. In addition, a narrow maser feature is present in both lines at V LSR = 2 km/s in the profiles obtained on January 7, 2008; the peak flux densities at 1667 and 1665 MHz are 1.5 and 0.4 Jy, respectively. No OH maser emission was detected in February–July 2008. Then, a maser feature was again observed in the 1665 MHz line on August 20, 2008, at the same velocity as in January, V LSR = 2 km/s, with a peak flux density of 0.4 Jy. No 1667 MHz counterpart was observed with an upper limit of ~0.1 Jy. Emission in both OH lines was again absent on September 18. The source was also observed in the H2O line at λ = 1.35 cm on the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) on February 7 and 13, 2008. In both cases, a maser feature was detected at V LSR = 9 km/s, with peak flux densities of 35 and 15 Jy, respectively. After the its apparent absence in April, H2O maser emission reappeared on May 14, 2008, at V LSR = 7 km/s with a flux density of about 15 Jy. The history of previous observations of the object in the OH and H2O lines is traced. The maser displays strong and rapid flux variability in the lines of both molecules, as is typical of young low-luminosity stellar objects at early stages of their evolution.  相似文献

The results of a study of the H2O and OH maser emission from the cool IR source IRAS 16293?2422 are presented. The observations analyzed were obtained in H2O lines with the 22-m telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory during 1999–2015 and in OH lines with the Nanc¸ ay radio telescope (France). A large number of very strong flares of the H2O maser were detected, reaching fluxes of tens of thousands of Jansky. Individual features can form organized structures resembling chains ~2 AU in length with a radial-velocity gradient along them. The observed drift of the H2O emission (2003–2004) in space and velocity (from 4.3 to 5.3 km/s) is not due solely to proper motion of the features. The other origin of the drift is a drift of the emission maximum during a flare as the shock consecutively excites spatially separated features in the structure in the form of a chain. The OH-line observations at 18 cm show that the emission remains unpolarized and thermal, with a line width of 0.7 km/s, which corresponds to a cloud temperature of ~30 K.  相似文献

The masses of 12 protostars assumed to be the central bodies in circumstellar protoplanetary disks are estimated based on analysis of their methanol maser spectra and fine spatial structure. The calculations are based on the hypothesis that the class II methanol maser lines are formed in an edge-on Keplerian disk, while the thermal methanol emission and CS lines are formed in a cocoon around the protostar. This provides information about the velocities of the protostar and the methanol maser condensations relative to the center. In most of the star-forming regions studied, the derived masses are within limits admissible for disks around massive OB stars. The masses are in good agreement with the calculations of other authors based on models of the velocity gradients of the maser features. It is suggested that the methanol spectra display a triplet structure in which the two lateral features are class II methanol lines and the central component is a class I methanol maser line or thermal methanol line. This is consistent with the fact that the correlation of regions of maser emission with regions of emission of dense molecular gas in the CS line is about twice as strong(about 100%) as the correlation with ultracompact HII regions (about 50%). This should be taken into account when modeling protoplanetary disks and star-forming regions.  相似文献

The results of a study of the maser source G 10.623-0.383 in the λ = 1.35 cm H2O line using the 22-mradio telescope of the Pushchino Radio AstronomyObservatory (Russia) and in the main hydroxyl lines (λ = 18 cm) using the Nanзay Radio Telescope (France) are presented. Uncorrelated long-term variations of the integrated intensities and the velocity centroids with characteristic times of 11 yrs (mean value) and 32 yrs, respectively, are studied. The drift of the velocity centroid may be associated with maser condensations whose material is collapsing onto the OB cluster. It is shown that the H2O maser source contains maser condensation configurations on various scales over a long time, which evolve with time. OH maser emission was only detected in the main lines at 1665 and 1667 MHz. The flux densities of the strongest emission components were variable, but their radial velocities did not change. A Zeeman pair was found at 1667 MHz with a splitting of about 1.44 km/s, corresponding to a line-of-sight magnetic field of 4.1 mG, which was preserved over at least 25 years. The characteristics of the H2O andOHmaser variability suggests that the masers are located in different parts of G 10.623–0.383.  相似文献

Twenty-eight CS molecular clouds toward HII regions with Galactocentric distances from ~ 4 to 20 kpc have been studied based on observations obtained in the J=2→1 lines of CS and C34S on the 20-meter radio telescope of the Onsala Space Observatory (Sweden) in March 2001. All 28 clouds have been mapped with an angular resolution of ~40″. The peak intensity in the C34S line has been measured for 20 objects. An LTE analysis has been performed and the parameters of the molecular cloud cores derived. The core sizes are dA=0.3–4.8 pc, with a median value of ~1.6 pc. The mean hydrogen densities in the cloud cores are nH2=3.5×102–3.7 × 104 cm?3, with a median value of ~7.2×103 cm?3. The value of nH2 ends to decrease with increasing Galactocentric distance of the cloud. The masses of most clouds are 102?6×103M, with the most probable value being MCS~103M. The data follow the dependence MCSd A (2.4–3.2) . As a rule, the cloud masses are lower than the virial masses for MCS<103M.  相似文献

The results of monitoring the H2O maser observed toward the region GH2O 092.67+03.07 (IRAS 21078+5211) located in the Giant Molecular Cloud Cygnus OB7 are presented. The observations were carried out with the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory in 2006–2017. Strong flares of the H2O maser emission with flux densities up to 19 800 Jy were detected. The flares exhibited both global (over the source) and local characters. All the flares were accompanied by strong variations in the H2O spectra within the corresponding radial-velocity ranges. Individual H2O components form both compact clusters and chains 1–2-AU long. Analysis of the variations of the fluxes, radial velocities, and line shapes of features during the flares showed that the medium may be strongly fragmented, with small-scale turbulent motions taking place in the H2Omaser region.  相似文献

Results of monitoring of the H2O maser observed toward the infrared source IRAS 21078+5211 in the giant molecular cloud Cygnus OB7 are presented. The observations were carried out on the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) from April 1992 to March 2006. Five cycles of maser activity at various levels were observed. In the periods of highest activity, the spectrum of the H2O maser emission extended from ?43 to 12 km/s. During strong flares, the flux densities in some emission features reached nearly 600 Jy. The protostar has a small peculiar velocity with respect to the CO molecular cloud (~2 km/s). Based on the character of the radial-velocity variations and the tendency for the linewidth to increase with the flux, it is concluded that the medium is strongly fragmented and that there is a small-scale turbulent outflow of ga in the H2O maser region, which may impede the formation of an HII region. The asymmetric distribution of the maser components in V LSR, the difference in the average linewidths of the central and lateral clusters of components, and the fairly high radial velocities relative to the molecular cloud (especially during periods of the highest maser activity) suggest that the maser spots belong to different clusters and different structures of the source: a disk and bipolar outflow.  相似文献

The results of spectral observations of the region of massive star formation L379IRS1 (IRAS18265–1517) are presented. The observations were carried out with the 30-m Pico Veleta radio telescope (Spain) at seven frequencies in the 1-mm, 2-mm, and 3-mm wavelength bands. Lines of 24 molecules were detected, from simple diatomic or triatomic species to complex eight- or nine-atom compounds such as CH3OCHO or CH3OCH3. Rotation diagrams constructed from methanol andmethyl cyanide lines were used to determine the temperature of the quiescent gas in this region, which is about 40–50 K. In addition to this warm gas, there is a hot component that is revealed through high-energy lines of methanol and methyl cyanide, molecular lines arising in hot regions, and the presence of H2O masers and Class II methanol masers at 6.7 GHz, which are also related to hot gas. One of the hot regions is probably a compact hot core, which is located near the southern submillimeter peak and is related to a group of methanol masers at 6.7 GHz. High-excitation lines at other positions may be associated with other hot cores or hot post-shock gas in the lobes of bipolar outflows. The rotation diagrams can be use to determine the column densities and abundances of methanol (10?9) and methyl cyanide (about 10?11) in the quiescent gas. The column densities of A- and E-methanol in L379IRS1 are essentually the same. The column densities of other observedmolecules were calculated assuming that the ratios of the molecular level abundances correspond to a temperature of 40 K. The molecular composition of the quiescent gas is close to that in another region of massive star formation, DR21(OH). The only appreciable difference is that the column density of SO2 in L379IRS1 is at least a factor of 20 lower than the value in DR21(OH). The SO2/CS and SO2/OCS abundance ratios, which can be used as chemical clocks, are lower in L379IRS1 than in DR21(OH), suggesting that L379IRS1 is probably younger than DR21(OH).  相似文献

The results of SEST millimeter observations of the molecular cloud G345.01+1.79 are presented. Spectra of CH3OH, SO2, SiO, HCO+, C18O, C33S, C34S, HCN, and DCN lines have been obtained. Mapping of the cloud in CH3OH, SiO, and C34S lines indicates that the maximum integrated intensity in the SiO and C34S lines and in low-excitation CH3OH transitions coincide with the northern group of methanol masers, while the corresponding maximum for high-excitation CH3OH transitions coincides with the southern methanol-maser group. The physical parameters are estimated from the quasi-thermal CH3OH lines under the large-velocity-gradient approximation, and their distribution on the sky derived. The density and temperature are higher toward the southern group of methanol masers than in the northern group. This may indicate that star formation is in an earlier stage of evolution in the northern than toward the southern group. A maser component can be distinguished in 14 (of 71) CH3OH lines. We have detected for the first time weak, probably maser, emission in the CH3OH lines at 148.11, 231.28, 165.05, 165.06, and 165.07 GHz. A blue wing is clearly visible in the CH3OH, SiO, C18O, and SO2 lines. The emission in this wing is probably associated with a compact source whose velocity is characteristic of the CH3OH maser emission in the southern group of masers.  相似文献

We present the results of a search for the emission in the main OH lines toward high-latitude IRAS sources using the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) in Narrabri. A sample of 239 sources from the IRAS catalog selected with the color criterion for ultracompact HII regions and with no restriction on flux was studied. No maser or thermal emission or absorption was detected in these sources. The reason for this could be the low sensitivity of the ATCA to faint high-latitude objects. However, we have mapped the regions of eight known masers in star-forming regions in the plane of the Galaxy. The results are given in the form of spectra and maps.  相似文献

A sample of Class I methanol masers (MMI) has been surveyed at 1720 MHz to search for possible associations between MMI and 1720-MHz OH masers, which should be formed by the same collisional pumping mechanism. If the model for methanol masers is correct, the sample should contain a statistically significant number of 1720-MHz OH masers at the positions of MMI. The observations were conducted on the 70-meter radio telescope of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU). The results show that ??50% of 72 MMI are associated with OH emission at 1720 MHz. In many sources, strong absorption lines are also observed. In most cases, the OH (1720) lines are narrow (linewidths of <2 km/s) suggesting they may be maser lines. The OH column densities obtained from Gaussian fitting of these narrow OH lines are, on average, 1.5 × 1017 cm?2. TheH2 density in the emitting medium reaches 107 cm?3 if the region of the OH (1720) emission has been subject to interaction with a bipolar-outflow front. This is sufficient to excite MMI, and the presence of narrow, possibly masing OH (1720) lines at the MMI velocities indicates the likely presence of shocks from bipolar outflows in the vicinity of the maser condensations, supporting models in which these molecules are collisionally pumped.  相似文献
