Reflection spectrum of mineral is a curve of the reflectance of the mineral against the wave-lengths of reflected light. It reflects the variation of reflectanee with changing wave-length and provides some useful information on other optical properties of the mineral under linear polarized light such as eolour, bineflection, reflection pleochroism, etc. Each mineral is characterized by its unique reflection spectrum. A set of nine reflection speetrum diagrams are compiled by the author for more than 200 common minerals.Reflection spectrum is markedly lines of different patterns for minerals with isotropism, bireflestion, reflection plcoehroism and the overlapping of Rg and Rp. Only one spectrum is given for each mineral and only Rg spectrum is presented for anisotropic minerals. These diagrams afford a practical means of opaque mineral determination on the basis of reflective property of minerals.  相似文献

The Holocene lacustrine diatomaceous earth of Fayium,South West of Cairo, has been studied to define its minerals, chemistry, petrography and physical properties.Minerals were processed by way of calcination at 550℃ ,followed by acid leaching to reduce levels of mineral impurities. The diatomite is of biogenic opal A.with calcite as the main ganue mineral, quartz and clay minerals(smectite followed by kaolinite in abundance and a trace amount of illite).Silica in the diatomaceous earth accounts for about 63% on average.Positive correlation between CaO and CO2 indicates that Ca is present mainly as calcite.Al2O3,Fe2O3,MgO and K2O are attributed mainly to clay minerals. However, the physical properties of the diatomaceous earth as filter-aids and filler for paints and plastics are poor because of general high levels of impurities. The technological performances of the diatomaceous earth have been significantly improved owing to upgrading of diatoms through mineral processing trical.  相似文献

The author studied the grain size, shape, colour, altered coat, mineral species, chemical composition,end- member components and infrared spectra of clinopyroxenes occurring as megacryst, macrocryst andgroundmass minerals, intergrowths with pyrope and ilmenite and minerals in deep-seated xenoliths and inclu-sions in diamonds in kimberlites of China. The clinopyroxenes under study were compared with megacrystclinopyroxenes in basalts and minerals in their deep-seated xenoliths and clinopyroxenes in lamproites andminettes. The coexisting clinopyroxene-pyrope pair was studied. Besides the author also studied the origin ofclinopyroxenes in kimberlites, P-T conditions for their formation and their reflected tectonic environments ofthe kimberlite formation. He suggests that this mineral is an indicator for diamond exploration.  相似文献

34samples of loess-paleosol from the Luochuan and Xifeng sections in the Loess Plateau, northern China were eparated into sand, silt and clay fractions and analyzed for their mineral compositions. The results indicate that there is almost no difference between loess and paleosol in mineral composition.Major mineral species are quartz, mica, feldspar and chlorite, accounting for about 88-92% of the total;other minerals are kandite, smectite, vermiculite and a few heavy minerals. The calcite, magnetite and hematite were not taken into consideration because of their removal in the process of sample preparation. The main difference with respect to the mineral composition of samples collected from different sections and different statigraphic levels lies in the amount and grain size of minerals hosted.Comparisons between the Luochuan section and the Xifeng section, between paleosol and loess and between the upper part and the lower part of some paleosol layers show that the formers contain less feldspar but more mica and vermiculite and are finer in grain size, indicating the co-occurrence of both biochemical weathering process responsible for mineral change and physical weathering process leading to grain-size change during the soil-forming processes. This result favours such an explanation of the soil-forming mechanism that loess deposition and paleosol development occurred synchronously, though the rate of soil formation was greater than that of loess deposition, thus leading to soil development.  相似文献

Spectral Reflectance Features of Rocks and Ores and Their Applications   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The spectral reflectance features of rocks and minerals are correlated with their composition,col-or,grain size and surface state.Different wall rocks, altered rocks and ores have their spectral reflectance features, which are very helpful for the explanation of remote sensing data and searching for mineral deposits by remote sensing. After the treatment of spectrum data and searching for mineral deposits by remote sensing. After the treatment of spectrum data of rocks and ores and physical and chemical parameters in the mathematical statistics,we analyzed the laboratorial spectrum dataand put forward better wave bands(520-590,650-710,730-760,770-860,1560-1760,2200 and 2300-2400nm) for distinguishing rocks and ores.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction analysis of black shale of Upper Triassic Member Chang 7 of the Yanchang Formation in southeastern Ordos Basin showed that black shales were deposited in brackish, strongly reducing, semi-deep-deep lacustrine facies, and mainly composed of quartz, feldspar, carbonate (dolomite), clay minerals (illite and il- lite/smectite) and a certain amount of pyrite. The mineral composition characteristics of this set of black shales are similar to those of highly productive shale gas in North America, for example shallow burial, low clay mineral and abundant brittle mineral, so the strata are conducive to the development of cracks and fractures. Thus, this area is favorable for shale oil/gas exploration and development.  相似文献

Under the ever-present solar radiation, photosynthetic organisms on Earth evolved structurally-sophisticated photosynthetic systems. However, little attention has been paid to the inherent impact of sunlight illumination on the inorganic minerals widespread on the Earth surface. We discovered for the first time the solar energy conversion system of the “mineral coatings” on the Earth's surface (aka“mineral membrane”), which exerts potential oxygen-production and carbon-sequestration functions on the Earth surface. Our finding shed a light on the photoelectric effect and non-classical photosynthesis involving natural semiconducting minerals. In this contribution, we studied the semiconducting property and photoelectron energy of typical minerals in the “mineral membrane”, focusing primarily on the photoelectric effect in and oxygen-production/carbon-sequestration function of ferromanganese oxides, as well as relevant geological records. We propose that birnessite, goethite and hematite, the semiconducting minerals commonly found in the “mineral membrane”, can perform sensitive and stable photon-to-electron conversion under solar radiation. The non-classical mineral photosynthetic function we put forth is as follows: Solar energy utilization by inorganic minerals resembles photosynthesis in regarding to oxygen evolution and carbon fixing, and the “mineral membrane” may take part in both photocatalytic water-oxidation reaction and transformation of atmospheric CO2into marine carbonate. In addition, minerals might as well have promoted photosynthesis in photosynthetic organisms. During the water-oxidation reaction, the inorganic cluster Mn4CaO5of photosystem II cycles through redox intermediates that are analogous to birnessite both in structure and component. Thus, it is fair to postulate that birnessites could play a role in the initiation of the photosynthesis in cyanobacteria, as minerals could weaken the hydrogen bond strength and alter water properties, thus facilitating water oxidation and photosynthesis. This observation offers further insights into the molecular mechanism of mineral participation in photosynthesis in photosynthetic organisms.  相似文献

Luobusaite: A New Mineral   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
A group of mantle minerals including about 70-80 subtypes of minerals are discovered from a podiform chromitite in Tibet, China. Recovered minerals include diamond, coesite, moissanite, wustite, Fe-silides and a new mineral, luobusaite. All of these minerals were hand-picked from heavymineral separates of the podiform chromitite in the mantle peridotite of an ophiolite. The grains of luobusaite are as host mineral with inclusions of native silicon or as an intergrowth with native silicon and Fe-Si phase. Luobusaite occurs as irregular grains, with 0.1-0.2 mm in size, consisting of very finegrained aggregates. The mineral is steel-grey in color, metallic luster, and opaque. The empirical formula (based on 2 for Si) is Fe0.83Si2, according to the chemical compositions of luobusaite. X-ray powder-diffraction data: orthorhombic system, space group Cmca, a = 9.874 (14) A, b = 7.784 (5) A, c= 7.829(7) A, Z=16.  相似文献

In terms of environmental mineralogy, the environmental properties of metallic minerals, including chemical activation, adsorption, pore effect and nanometer effect, have been analyzed. On the basis of the analysis of environmental properties of metallic minerals, the applications of iron-bearing sultides, iron and manganese oxides in the purification of wastewaters containing heavy metal ions (Cr^6+ ,Hg^2+ , Pb^2+ , etc. ) have been summarized. Moreover, research on the application of metallic minerals in environmental protection has been anticipated. It should be a piece of dominating work for environmental mineralogie researchers in the future to lucubrate systematically the physical and chemical characteristics of the metallic mineral surfaces, further reveal the reciprocity process between metallic minerals and water surface, perfect the theory and model of the metallic minerals to remove contaminants, intensify study on the facilities and techniques of metallic minerals to remove contaminants, and entail well the extension and propagation of achievements.  相似文献

A Study of Occurrences of Ag in Pb-Zn-Cu Ore Deposits in China   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
A systematic study of occurrences of silver in 156 Pb-Zn-Cu ore deposits indicates that silver mainly occurs in nonferrous metal ore deposits in forms of association and paragenesis. It occurs mainly as independent minerals in nature and occasionally as ion adsorption, isomorphous or amorphous silver minerals. Nearly 190 silver minerals have been discovered in China. Their shapes, constituents, textures, grain sizes, embedded types, distribution patterns, mineral assemblages and metallogenic series suggest that these characteristics are closely related to geneses of deposits and dependent of ore-forming conditions. Pb, Zn and Cu sulphides are the main carrier minerals of silver. The partition of silver in ore is constrained by the mineralization intensity, grain size and embedded form of silver minerals and mineral assemblages.  相似文献

This article reviews the applications of light stable isotope, including carbon, oxygen and hydrogen, in thestudies on origin and formation temperature of authigenic carbonate, quartz and clay minerals. Theoretical knowledge andanalytical methods for major light stable isotopes are introduced in detail. Negative and positive δ13C values indicatesignificant differences on the origin of carbonate cements. The δ18O value is an effective palaeotemperature scale forauthigenic minerals formation. Various fractionation equations between δ18O and temperature are proposed for carbonatecements, quartz cements and clay minerals, whose merit and demerit, applicable conditions are clarified clearly. Clumpedisotope analysis can reconstruct the temperature of carbonate precipitation with no requirement on the δ18O of initial waters, which makes temperature calculation of carbonate cements formation more convenient and accurate. Hydrogen and oxygenisotopes mainly reflect the origin of diagenetic fluid for clay mineral formation, providing reliable evidence for diageneticenvironment analysis. This work aims at helping researchers for better understanding the applications of light stable isotopein sandstone diagenesis.  相似文献

Bacillus mucilaginosus is a common soil bacterium, and usually used as a model bacterium in studying microbe-mineral interactions.Several reaction mechanisms of B.mucilaginosus weathering silicate minerals were proposed. However, the molecule mechanisms and detailed processes were still unclear. In this paper,bacterium-mineral interactions were studied in terms of variations in pH value over the experimental period, variations in mineral composition, weathering rates of silicate minerals and volatile metabolites in the culture medium, etc.,to further explore the bacterium-mineral interaction mechanisms. The results showed that B.mucilaginosus could enhance silicate mineral weathering obviously. The weathering rates were quite different for various kinds of silicate minerals, and the weathering rate of weathered adamellite could reach 150 mg/m2/d.Although B.mucilaginosus produced little acidic substance,pH in the microenvironment of bacterium-mineral complex might be far lower than that of the circumjacent environment;a large amount of acetic acid was found in the metabolites, and was likely to play an important role as a ligand. These results appear to suggest that acidolysis and ligand degradation are the main mechanisms of B.mucilaginosus dissolving silicate minerals, the formation of bacterium-mineral complexes is the necessary condition for the bacteria weathering silicate minerals, and extracelluar polysaccharides played important roles in bacterium-mineral interaction processes by forming bacterium-mineral complexes and maintaining the spe-cial physicochemical properties of microenvironment.  相似文献

Little is known about the geochemistry of peat and soft-brown coal The analytical chemical dataof forty eight samples have been obtained for the peat and soft-brow n coal in the 7henan basin, western Yunnan. njection of continental detritus into theswamp is favourable for the degradation of plant remains and thefor-oration of humic acid. The oxide compositions of the ash of the peat and soft一)rown coal and their distribution-typeshave indicated that the continental detritusome from two kinds of parent rocks. The Al2O3 and SiO2have a positive correlation with humic acid(Hmz),showing that the organic matter is ad-vantageous to the formation of aluminosilic;ate mineral(mainly kaolinite, authigenic organic clay minerals). The TiO2 enrichment is mainly related to mineral materials. The Ge content in the peat and soft-brown coalranges from 0. 2- 2.6×10-6, and it is mainly bound to those minerals with Al2O3and organic matters. The GaContent is from 2. 3- 19.1×10-6,and it is associated with minerals that are MgO一Baring aluminosilicate minerals. The uranium (0.3- 4.9×10-6) is mainly bound in the Ca-and Mg-bearing minerals. They are not enriched andnot related to organic matter.  相似文献

The reservoirs of the SOngliao Basin are composed of typical unstable sandstones, with high percentages of volcanic fragments and feldspar,In the course of sedimentation and burying,a series of physical and chemical reactions took place between minerals and pore water and water-rock reactions and ion exchange caused changes in ion assemblage of pore water,Hydration-hydrolysis,dissolution and the albitization of feldspar made many ions free from their framework and inter into the pore water, and induced the precipitation of a large amount of authigenic minerals such as smectite and chlorite,During the diagenesis of sandstone.diagenetic reactions involved several stages with increasing depth, and so did the precipitation of authigenic minerals and the transformaiton of minerals. The migration of ions is related with the precipitation, transformation and dissolution of authigenic minerals. Thus,to deepen our study on sandstone diagenesis is an important link for the analysis of ion migration in the evolution of pore water ,the origin and evolution of pore water could be tracked in terms of the geochemistry of fluid inclusions in authigenic minerals. And the isotopic composition of the authigenic mineral calcite can provide its genetic information.  相似文献

We investigated the weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks and its environmental effects in subtropical regions of China. The investigation demonstrated that the weathering- pedogenesis of carbonate rocks is the process of a joint action of corrosion and illuviation and metasomatism in subtropical region. It is characterized by multi-stage, multi-path and multi-style. With the persisting development of weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks, metasomatic pedogenesis progressively became the main process of the weathering-pedogenesis and the dominant style of formation of minerals. And it proceeds through the whole process of evolution of the weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks. The stage evolution of weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks and the fractionation evolution of newly produced minerals are characterized by obvious vertically zoning structures and the rules of gradation of elements geochemical characteristics in the carbonate rocks weathering profiles. The geochemical process of weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks can be divided into three geochemical evolution stages, i.e., the Ca, Mg-depletion and Si, Al-enrichment stage; the Fe, Mn enrichment stage and the Si-depletion and Al-enrichment stage in the subtropical regions. Consistent with the three geochemical evolution stages, the sequence of formation and evolution of minerals can be divided into the clay mineral stage; the Fe, Mn oxide and the gibbsite stage. The influence of weathering-pedogenesis of carbonate rocks on the chemical forms of heavy elements is mainly affected via newly produced components and minerals in the process of weathering-pedogenesis, e.g., iron oxide minerals and organic matters. The important mechanism for the mobilization, transport and pollution of F and As is affected the selective adsorption and desorption of F and As on the surface of iron oxide minerals in the subtropical karst zones, i.e., the selective adsorption and desorption on mineral surfaces of newly produced minerals in the process of weath  相似文献

Spectra are sensitive in detecting main minerals on the lunar surface from visible light to infrared light. Since spectral characteristics of minerals are closely related to their compositions and the maturity level of soil on the Moon, studying the compositions and distribution of elements and minerals on the lunar surface can help to understand the evolution of the Moon through remote sensing technology. The correlation between the spectral characteristics of Chang’e-1 interference imaging spectrometry (IIM) reflectance images and the mineral contents of LSCC (Lunar Soil Characterization Consortium) lunar surface mineral samples was discussed and the spatial distributions of FeO and Al2O3 contained in both pyroxene and plagioclase on LQ-4 were studied using the improved angle parameter method, MNF, and band ratio statistics. A comparison of the mapping results of the optical models by Lucey, Shkuractov and other researchers on Clementine and the gamma ray spectrometry data shows that the content error is within 0.6% for lunar mare areas and close to 1% for the highland areas. The tectonic framework on the lunar surface was also investigated. And based on integrated analysis of previous findings on topography of the lunar surface, Chang’e LAM, CCD and LOLA images and the gravity anomalies data (Clementine GLGM-2), the tectonic unit subdivision was established for LQ-4, the idea of subdividing the lunar tectonic units was proposed, and this will provide a good foundation for studying the lunar tectonic evolution.  相似文献
