Forty samples each of leaves, bark and wood of mountain birch (Betula pubescens EHRH.) were collected along a 120 km long south–north transect running through Norway’s largest city, Oslo. Concentrations of 26 chemical elements (Ag, As, Au, B, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, La, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Sr, Ti and Zn) as well as loss on ignition for the three sample materials are reported. By far the highest concentrations of most elements appear in the leaves. Prominent exceptions are Au and Pb, both of which are enriched in wood, indicating the importance of root-uptake, and As which is enriched in bark. Bedrock lithology, ore occurrences, soil pH and urban contamination all have a visible influence on the element concentrations in mountain birch leaves, bark and wood. It is often impossible to differentiate between all the factors that can influence element concentrations in the three sample materials. Mountain birch bark shows the strongest anthropogenic impact of the city of Oslo for dust-related elements (Fe, La, Ti) and Sb. Even in mountain birch bark the influence of the city on element concentrations is no longer discernible from the background variation at a distance of less than 20 km from Oslo centre. Compared to terrestrial moss, mountain birch appears to be of little value as a biomonitor for urban contamination.  相似文献

The major aim of the present study is to identify the relationship of physiological parameters of the photosynthetic system with the elemental content of the naturally growing lichen Pyxine cocoes. The epiphytic foliose lichen P. cocoes was used as biomonitoring indicator and effect of atmospheric pollutants on physiological integrity was examined. Potential quantum yield of Photosystem II (fluorescence ratio Fv/Fm), chlorophyll degradation ratio and quantitative estimation of Al, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Fe and Zn contained in the lichen thallus were ascertained. Statistical analysis revealed significantly positive correlations between Fv/Fm and element contents (Al and Cr). The chlorophyll degradation as well as alteration in the pigment content was found to be the most sensitive parameters to assess the vitality of lichen thallus against polluted environment. The species accumulated higher amounts of elements (Al, As, Cu, Fe and Zn) in the polluted sites as compared to the non polluted sites. It was also evident from this study that vehicular emission played a significant role in the release of elements as pollutants in the surrounding environment. The effectiveness of this lichen could be further investigated by comparing this species with other biomonitors.  相似文献

Pollen productivity is one of the most critical parameters for pollen–vegetation relationships, and thus for vegetation reconstruction, in either pollen percentages or pollen accumulation rates. We obtain absolute pollen productivity of three major tree types in northern Finland: pine (Pinus sylvestris), spruce (Picea abies) and birch (Betula pubescens ssp. pubescens and B. pubescens ssp. czerepanovii treated as one taxon). Long‐term monitoring records of pollen traps from 15 sites (duration: 5–23 years) and tree volume estimates within a 14 km radius of each trap were compared to estimate pollen productivity (grains m?3 a?1) of these trees using a regression method. The slope of the linear relationship between pollen loading and distance‐weighted plant abundance represents pollen productivity. Estimated productivities of pollen (×108 grains m?3 a?1) for pine, spruce and birch are 128.7 (SE 31.5), 341.9 (SE 81.3) and 411.4 (SE 307.7), respectively. The birch estimate (P > 0.05) is not as good as the others and should be used with caution. Pollen productivities of pine, spruce and birch in northern Finland are, in general, comparable to those of congeneric species in other regions of Europe and Japan. Although the year‐to‐year variations are significant, our volume‐based estimates of pollen productivity for pine and spruce will be essential for quantitative reconstruction of vegetation in the region. The extinct Harrington's mountain goat (Oreamnos harringtoni Stock) is predominantly known from dry cave localities in the Grand Canyon, Arizona, in addition to two sites in the Great Basin, Nevada, and from San Josecito Cave, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. A dry shelter in Natural Bridges National Monument, on the central Colorado Plateau, southeastern Utah, preserves numerous remains of the extinct mountain goat in addition to pack rat middens. Remains from a 100-cm stratigraphic profile indicate that O. harringtoni lived on the plateau >39,800 yr B.P., the oldest directly dated find of extinct mountain goat. Plant macrofossils indicate that Engelmann's spruce (Picea engelmannii), limber pine (Pinus flexilis), rose (Rosa cf. woodsii), and Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) grew during the late Pleistocene where a riparian and a pinyon-juniper (Pinus edulis-Juniperus osteosperma) community now predominates; Douglas fir are found only in mesic, protected, north-facing areas. Limber pine, Douglas fir, bark, and grasses were the major dietary components in the dung. A springtime diet of birch (Betula) is determined from pollen clumps in dung pellets.  相似文献

Element concentrations, element ratios and Pb and Zn isotope data are reported for different geologic samples (barren and ore-bearing granites and host rocks), technogenic products (ore concentrates and tailings) and biologic samples (lichens and birch leaves) from the Orlovka–Spokoinoe mining district, Eastern Transbaikalia, Russia, with the aim to trace the sources of Pb and Zn at a local level within the mining site. Lichens and birch leaves were used as receptors of contamination within the mining site. Pb/Zr and Zn/Zr values indicated Pb and Zn enrichment relative to host rocks. Zn isotope data of 15 geologic and 11 lichen samples showed different Zn isotopic signatures with the total range for the geologic suite of −0.4‰ to +1.2‰ and for lichens of +0.4‰ to +1.4‰ in δ66Zn relative to Lyon JMC Zn standard. The source of isotopically heavy Zn within the Orlovka–Spokoinoe mining site could be potentially associated with long-range atmospheric aerosols that also contributed Pb to the studied mining site. Our results demonstrated that Zn isotopes might be used as new tools for Zn source assessment.  相似文献

The postglacial tree line and climate history in the Swedish Scandes have been inferred from megafossil tree remains. Investigated species are mountain birch (Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and grey alder (Alnus incana). Betula and Pinus first appeared on early deglaciated nunataks during the Lateglacial. Their tree lines peaked between 9600 and 9000 cal. a BP, almost 600 m higher than present‐day elevations. This implies (adjusted for land uplift) that early Holocene summer temperatures may have been 2.3°C above modern ones. Elevational tree line retreat characterized the Holocene tree line evolution. For short periods, excursions from this trend have occurred. Between c. 12 000 and 10 000 cal. a BP, a pine‐dominated subalpine belt prevailed. A first major episode of descent occurred c. 8200 cal. a BP, possibly forced by cooling and an associated shift to a deeper and more persistent snow pack. Thereafter, the subalpine birch forest belt gradually evolved at the expense of the prior pine‐dominated tree line ecotone. A second episode of pine descent took place c. 4800 cal. a BP. Historical tree line positions are viewed in relation to early 21st century equivalents, and indicate that tree line elevations attained during the past century and in association with modern climate warming are highly unusual, but not unique, phenomena from the perspective of the past 4800 years. Prior to that, the pine tree line (and summer temperatures) was consistently higher than present, as it was also during the Roman and Medieval periods, c. 1900 and 1000 cal. a BP, respectively.  相似文献

Soil and pine (Pinus brutia) samples were collected from 64 sites over chromite and ultramafic rocks near Musal?, and over clastic sediments of the Silifke-Anamur areas of Mersin, Turkey. Both sample media were analyzed for their Zn and Fe contents. The results showed similar concentration of both elements in the ash of needles and twigs, with each exhibiting lower concentration than the soils. Zinc was more concentrated in pines from the Silifke-Anamur area than at Musal?, but Fe concentrations were similar in both area. A positive correlation was observed between Zn and Fe in pine and soils (r=0.90 and 0.79, respectively). It is concluded that P. brutia can be used as a biogeochemical sample medium to detect concealed deposits of Zn and Fe.  相似文献

Chromium, copper, cadmium, lead, nickel, iron and zinc contents of a lichen species (Pyxine subcinerea Stirton) and mango bark collected from 12 sites in Haridwar city (Uttarakhand) were compared with soil, sampled from beneath the tree from which lichens were collected. The metal contents in lichen, bark and soil ranged from 1,573 to 18,793, 256 to 590 and 684 to 801 μg g?1, respectively. This clearly indicates that lichens accumulated higher amounts of metal compared to bark or soil. Statistical analysis revealed that metal concentration in lichens did not show significant linear correlation with the bark or soil. Pearsons correlation coefficients revealed negative correlation of Pb (r = ?0.2245) and Ni (r = ?0.0480) content between lichen and soil, which indicate direct atmospheric input of metals from ambient environment. Quantification and comparison of elemental concentration in lichens, its substratum and soil can provide valuable information about air quality in the collection area.  相似文献

Pollen accumulation rates (PARs) provide a potential proxy for quantitative tree volume (m3 ha?1) reconstruction with reliable absolute pollen productivity estimates (APPEs). We obtained APPEs for pine, spruce and birch at their range limits in northern Finland under two temperature periods (‘warm’ and ‘cold’) based on long‐term pollen trap and tree volume records within a 14‐km radius of each trap. APPEs (mean ± SE; × 108 grains m?3 a?1) tend to be higher for the ‘warm’ periods (pine 123.8 ± 24.4, birch 528.0 ± 398.4, spruce 434.3 ± 113.7) compared with the ‘cold’ periods (pine 95.5 ± 37.3, birch 317.3 ± 282.6, spruce 119.6 ± 37.6), although the difference is only significant for spruce. Using an independent temperature record and the APPEs obtained, we reconstruct a low‐frequency record of pine volume changes over the last 1000 years at Palomaa mire, where a high‐resolution record of Pinus PARs is available. Five phases are distinguished in the reconstruction: moderate pine volume, AD 1080–1170; high volume, AD 1170–1340; low volume, AD 1340–1630; very low volume, AD 1630–1810; and rising pine volume, AD 1810–1950. These phases do not coincide with periods of high or low June–July–August temperatures, and thus appear to reflect regional variations in tree volume, while high‐frequency changes within each time‐period block show variations in PARs in response to temperature. Different sampling media (moss, lichen and attic dust) were used for monitoring the distribution of 15 elements, including certain trace elements, in the vicinity of an intensively exploited copper mine in the east of the Republic of Macedonia. Moss species (Hypnum cupressiforme and Campothecium lutescens), epiphytic lichens (Hypogymnia physodes and Evernia prunastri) and attic dust were collected for comparative analysis for monitoring air pollution. In both cases (lithological and anthropogenic affected areas) for the distribution of elements, the sampling media follows the expression capabilities: attic dust > moss > lichens. Enrichment factors M/L—moss vs. lichen, for plant response to elements distribution and D/L—attic dust vs. lichen, for historical response of elements distribution were significant for Cu and Ni, which were singled out as the main markers for anthropogenic and geogenic distribution. The factor analysis highlighted geogenic (F1: Ni-Cr-Cd-Fe-Al-K-Mn-Zn) and anthropogenic (F2: As-Cu-Pb) association of elements from three types of media samples. For anthropogenic affected areas, T value and F value for Cu content were significant at p < 0.05 and higher enrichment factors were obtained for lichen, moss and attic dust media (3.8, 5.0 and 5.7, respectively). Spatial distribution for element deposition (with emphasis on Cu and Ni) is not disturbed by the significant differences in the sampling media matrix. Treated sample materials (attic dust, moss, lichen) are shown to be useful in determining an anthropogenic impact, as well as the chemical properties or geological background on orographic diverse terrain in the presence of complex geological structure.  相似文献

A high-resolution pollen record from Lake Teletskoye documents the climate-related vegetation history of the northern Altai Mountain region during the last millennium. Siberian pine taiga with Scots pine, fir, spruce, and birch dominated the vegetation between ca. AD 1050 and 1100. The climate was similar to modern. In the beginning of the 12th century, birch and shrub alder increased. Lowered pollen concentrations and simultaneous peaks in herbs (especially Artemisia and Poaceae), ferns, and charcoal fragments point to colder and more arid climate conditions than before, with frequent fire events. Around AD 1200, regional climate became warmer and more humid than present, as revealed by an increase of Siberian pine and decreases of dry herb taxa and charcoal contents. Climatic conditions were rather stable until ca. AD 1410. An increase of Artemisia pollen may reflect slightly drier climate conditions between AD 1410 and 1560. Increases in Alnus, Betula, Artemisia, and Chenopodiaceae pollen and in charcoal particle contents may reflect further deterioration of climate conditions between AD 1560 and 1810, consistent with the Little Ice Age. After AD 1850 the vegetation gradually approached the modern one, in conjunction with ongoing climate warming.  相似文献

Based on materials collected in 2003–2007, data on aquatic lichens of the genus Verrucaria from the rocky littoral zone of Lake Baikal are discussed. The maximum density of their occurrence was observed at a depth of 1.5 m; 95–100% of rock fragments recovered from depths of 1.5–2.2 m are encrusted by 24–43% with the thalli of Verrucaria spp. It was found that the lichens contribute actively to the physical and physicochemical weathering of their rock substrate and prefer to reside on the rocks of granitic composition. The chemical composition of aquatic verrucaria is dominated by the same elements that are most abundant in the rocks (Ca > K > Fe > Al > Mg > P > S > Na > Mn > Sr > Ba), and, in most cases, the characteristic element ratios of the rock compositions are preserved in the composition of the thalli of Verrucaria spp. Compared with the elemental composition of the near-bottom water layer, the lichens most extensively concentrate the elements that slowly migrate in water: Gd > Sm > Pr > Nd > Al > La > Dy > Tb > Y > Lu > Ce > Yb > Be > Tm > Co > Nb > Mn > Zn. Compared with the composition of rocks, the mineral composition of the thalli of Verrucaria spp. is enriched by a factor of 100–10 in Hg > As > P > Zn > Li > S > U > Mo > Se > Cd > Ca > Tl > Sr > Pb > Be.  相似文献

A four month study of a man-made lake used for hydroelectric power generation in northeastern Pennsylvania USA was conducted to investigate seasonal anoxia and the effects of sulfide species being transported downstream of the power generation equipment. Water column analyses show that the system is iron-rich compared to sulfide. Total Fe(II) concentrations in the hypolimnion are typically at least twice the total sulfide levels. In situ voltammetric analyses show that free Fe(II) as [Fe(H2O)6]2+ or free H2S as H2S/HS- are either not present or at trace levels and that iron-rich sulfide complexes are present. From the in situ data and total Fe(II) and H2S measurements, we infer that these iron-rich sulfide complexes may have stoichiometries such as Fe2SH3+ (or polymeric forms of this and other stoichiometries). These iron-rich sulfide complexes appear related to dissolution of the iron-rich FeS mineral, mackinawite, because IAP calculations on data from discrete bottle samples obtained from bottom waters are similar to the pKsp of mackinawite. Soluble iron-sulfide species are stable in the absence of O2 (both in lake waters and the pipeline) and transported several miles during power generation. However, iron-sulfide complexes can react with O2 to oxidize sulfide and can also dissociate releasing volatile H2S when the waters containing them are exposed to the atmosphere downstream of the powerplant. Sediment analyses show that the lake is rich in oxidized iron solids (both crystalline and amorphous). Fe concentrations in FeS solids are low (<5 μmole/grdry wt) and the pyrite concentration ranges from about equal to the solid FeS to 30 times the solid FeS concentration. The degree of pyritization is below 0.12 indicating that pyrite formation is limited by free sulfide, which can react with the iron-rich sulfide complexes.  相似文献

This paper provides data on variations in the contents of As, Sb, Ni, V, Pb, Cu, Cr, Au, Zn, Sc, and Al, measured in the thalli of a saxicolous lichen species,Xanthoria calcicola Ochsner s.l., collected in northeastern Sicily, near an industrial zone and along a belt crossing areas of known ores containing sulfides of heavy metals. A total of 91 lichen samples were collected on roof tiles (39) and on rocks (52). In the industrial zone, analysis of lichen thalli revealed high contents of nickel and vanadium, decreasing at increasing distances from the source of contamination. The results have also revealed the versatility ofXanthoria calcicola in geochemical prospecting for heavy metals such as Pb, Zn, As, Au, Sb, Ni, V, and Cu. The contents of these elements in the analyzed lichens highlight the same geochemical associations observed in prospecting surveys on samples of river sediments and identify similar anomalies. Interpretation of data in terms of enrichment factors (EFs) turned out to be particularly useful.  相似文献

While single pollen records are widely used in reconstructing the environment for nearby prehistoric settlements, they are less helpful when addressing large‐scale issues of variation in human settlement patterns. In order to assess the impact of vegetation change on regional prehistoric settlement and subsistence patterns in an ecotone sensitive area, we inferred the general change in main vegetation types based on palaeobotanical investigations from across northernmost Fennoscandia. Tundra vegetation was predominant during the Lateglacial and earliest parts of the Holocene. Maritime birch forests rich in ferns started to expand c. 11 000 cal. a BP and became dominant from 10 000 cal. a BP. Pine expanded from the NE of the investigation area and pine‐birch forest dominated in the inland around 8000 cal. a BP. A gradual degeneration of forest towards more open birch woodland started c. 6000 cal. a BP with the most marked change around 3500 cal. a BP. Along the northern outer coast, this eventually led to open heathland. Comparison with the archaeological setting suggests a general correlation between low forest cover and extensive mobility patterns, while widespread and varied forest cover appear to have led to a more sedentary way of life. The background for this is arguably that the forested landscapes hosted a larger diversity of resources within a shorter foraging distance, while areas and periods with low forest cover required longer travels to obtain the desired prey and materials.  相似文献

A pollen‐inferred vegetation shift, from pioneer birch–pine woodland to mixed pine–summergreen oak forests, in the southern Alpine forelands, is commonly attributed to a centennial‐scale warming that occurred between the Gerzensee Oscillation (GO) and the Younger Dryas. Two microtephra layers bracketing the Younger Dryas onset (the Laacher See Tephra and the Vedde Ash) improve the chronology at Lago Piccolo di Avigliana (northern Italy) and allowed accurate correlation with Central European records where the GO is clearly detected. We used pollen percentages, pollen accumulation rates (PARs) and plant macrofossils to assess the population dynamics of Quercus, and leaf‐cuticle analysis for a better taxonomic identification of Quercus. Our results indicate that the species that was locally present was probably Quercus robur. PARs suggest that the population expansion started as early as the Bølling and followed an exponential increase through time. We attribute this gradual shift to increasing summer temperatures and longer growing seasons which contrast with a gradually decreasing temperature trend as recorded in Greenland ice cores and in Central Europe. Breaks or set‐backs in the PAR record may indicate the biotic response to minor Lateglacial cooling events of different life‐history stages in the Quercus population. Zusammenfassung Die Kristallstruktur eines vonJ. A. Mandarino undS. J. Williams (1961) beschriebenen, bisher unbenannten Tellurminerals mit der Raumgruppe P 63/m und den Gitterkonstanten a0=9,41Å, c0=7,64Å wurde mit dreidimensionalen Patterson-, Fourier-und (F0–Fc)-Synthesen und einer Least-squares-Verfeinerung bestimmt und verfeinert. Unter Zugrundelegung einer halbquantitativen Mikrosondenanalyse wurde durch die Strukturbestimmung gezeigt, daß es sich um ein zeolithartiges Telluritmineral mit einem negativ geladenen Gerüst {Zn2[TeO3]3} handelt, das parallel [00.1] verlaufende, große offene Kanäle zeigt, die mit Kationen und H2O statistisch besetzt sind. Die Elementarzelle enthält zwei Formeleinheiten {(Zn,Fe)2[TeO3]3}Nax H2–x·yH2O. Je zwei über Flächen verknüpfte Sauerstoffkoordinationsoktaeder um (Zn,Fe) werden über Ecken mit TeO3-Pyramiden verknüpft und reihenförmig parallel [00.1] angeordnet. Diese Reihen werden untereinander über die dritte Ecke der TeO3-Pyramiden zu einem bienenwabenartigen Gerüst verbunden, dessen Kanäle einen Durchmesser von 8,28 Å besitzen.
Summary The crystal structure of an unnamed hexagonal tellurium mineral, described formerly byJ. A. Mandarino andS. J. Williams (1961) with space group P 63/m and lattice constants a0-9,41 Å, c0=7,64 Å has been determined and refined by 3-dimensional Patterson-, Fourier-, and (F0–Fe)-syntheses, and by leastsquares-refinement. Based on a semiquantitative electron microprobe analysis, the structure determination has shown that the described mineral is a zeolite-like tellurite with a negative charged framework {Zn2[TeO3]3} with large open channels running parallel [00.1], which are statistically occupied by cations and H2O. The unit cell contains two formula units {(Zn,Fe)2[TeO3]3} Nax H2–x·yH2O. Two oxygen octahedrons coordinating (Zn,Fe) share faces and are linked by TeO3-pyramids sharing corners, to form an array parallel [00.1]. These arrays are linked by the third corner of TeO3-pyramids and form a hexagonal honeycomb-like framework, the channels having a diameter of 8,28 Å.

With the aim of studying the interspectific differences in the bioaccumulation of a series of elements in six species of estuarine macrophytes, we measured the concentrations of various metals (Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn), as well as C and N, in several species of macroalgae and one species of seagrass in estuaries in northwest Spain. To facilitate the interpretation of the results, we also determined the concentrations of the same metals in sediments. Contamination by particulate metal did not appear to be important. The levels of Cu in the different species were generally high in comparison with those found in similar studies; in contrast, the concentrations of Pb and Zn were relatively low. The metal concentrations showed greater variability and a distibution that was further from normal than those of C and N. In general the highest concentrations of elements were found inEnteromorpha spp. andZostera noltii, and the lowest occurred inUlva spp. There were several significant positive correlations among tissue concentrations of Cr, Cu, and Ni. There were also significant correlations between tissue concentrations of N and Zn, suggesting possible synergetic effects between them. Cluster analysis clearly revealed that the chemical composition ofZ. noltii differed from that of the macroalage. Macroalgae were not grouped according to their taxonomic position, therefore it appears that the concentrations of the elements depended more on the ecological traits of the macroalgal species rather than on any possible, physiological differences among different taxonomic groups. Of the species studied,Ascophyllum nodosum andEnteromorpha spp. appeared to be the best biomonitors of metal contamination.  相似文献

The results of a multielemental biogeochemical orientation survey carried out in Calabria, southern Italy, are reported in this paper. Five plant species: three herbaceous species, Oenanthe pimpinelloides, Anthemis triumphetti, and a stonecrop (Sedum tenuifolium), a leguminous shrub, spanish broom (Spartium junceum) and laricio pine (Pinus nigra ssp laricio) were studied to determine which species is the most responsive to sulfide mineralization and which are the best indicator elements. Si, Fe, Ti, Mn, Zn, Mo, Cu, and Pb were determined in ashed material by X-ray fluorescence analysis. All the data were treated statistically and classified into geometrically increasing intervals, in order to discriminate anomalous from background values. In addition, an R-mode factor analysis and a correlation analysis were performed to find out whether any specific metal association that could characterize both the lithology and mineralization existed for each plant species. The herbaceous plants, particularly Oenanthe, were much more effective as indicators of mineralization compared with laricio pine. The elements that gave the best indication of sulfide mineralization were Zn and Pb, confirming the usefulness of biogeochemical methods as an additional prospecting tool in Calabria, where such exploration has never been attempted before. R-mode factor analysis was found to be extremely promising as a supplemental tool in the interpretation of results from this biogeochemical survey. Each plant species is always characterized by a metal association (predominantly Pb-Zn-Mn) whose high factor loading scores constantly show a close relationship with proven sulfide mineralization.  相似文献

The bioaccumulation of trace metals in the carbonate shells of mussel and clams was investigated at seven hydrothermal vent fields of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (Menez Gwen, Snake Pit, Rainbow, and Broken Spur) and the Eastern Pacific (9°N and 21°N at the East Pacific Rise and the southern trough of Guaymas Basin). Mineralogical analysis showed that the carbonate skeletons of the mytilid mussel Bathymodiolus sp. and the vesicomyid clam Calyptogena m. are composed mainly of calcite and aragonite, respectively. The first data were obtained for the content of a variety of elements in the bivalve carbonate shells from various hydrothermal vent sites. The analysis of the chemical compositions (including Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Cd, Pb, Ag, Ni, Cr, Co, As, Se, Sb, and Hg) of 35 shell samples and 14 water samples from the mollusk biotopes revealed the influences of environmental conditions and some biological parameters on the bioaccumulation of metals. Bivalve shells from hydrothermal fields with black smokers are enriched in Fe and Mn by a factor of 20–30 relative to the same species from the Menez Gwen low-temperature vent site. It was shown that the essential elements Fe, Mn, Ni, and Cu were more actively accumulated during the early ontogeny of the shells. The high concentration factors of most metals (n × 102n × 104) indicate an efficient accumulation function of bivalve carbonate shells. Passive metal accumulation owing to adsorption on the shell surface was estimated to be no higher than 50% of the total amount, varying from 14% for Fe to 46% for Mn.  相似文献
