Fitting matrix-valued variogram models by simultaneous diagonalization (Part I: Theory)

Suppose that ¯(x₁),...,¯Z(x_n). are observations of vector-valued random function ¯(x). In the isotropic situation, the sample variogram γ^*(h) for a given lag h is $$\bar \gamma ^ * (h) = \frac{1}{{2N(h)}}\mathop \sum \limits_{s(h)} (\overline Z (x_1 ) - \overline Z (x_1 )) \overline {(Z} (x_1 ) - \overline Z (x_1 ))^T $$ where s(h) is a set of paired points with distance h and N(h) is the number of pairs in s(h).. For a selection of lags h₁, h₂, .... h_k such that N (h₁) > O. we obtain a ktuple of (semi) positive definite matrices $\bar \gamma ^ * (h_{ 1} ),. . . ., \bar \gamma ^ * (h_{ k} )$ . We want to determine an orthonormal matrix B which simultaneously diagonalizes the $\bar \gamma ^ * (h_{ 1} ),. . . ., \bar \gamma ^ * (h_{ k} )$ or nearly diagonalizes them in the sense that the sum of squares of offdiagonal elements is small compared to the sum of squares of diagonal elements. If such a B exists, we linearly transform $\overline Z (x)$ by $\overline Y (x) = B\overline Z (x)$ . Then, the resulting vector function $\overline Y (x)$ has less spatial correlation among its components than $\overline Z (x)$ does. The components of $\overline Y (x)$ with little contribution to the variogram structure may be dropped, and small crossvariograms fitted by straightlines. Variogram models obtained by this scheme preserve the negative definiteness property of variograms (in the matrix-valued function sense). A simplified analysis and computation in cokriging can be carried out. The principles of this scheme arc presented in this paper.  相似文献

The pentacyclic triterpene 17 beta(H),21 beta(H)-hop-22(29)-ene (diploptene) occurs in sediments throughout the Columbia River drainage basin and off the southern coast of Washington state in concentrations comparable to long-chain plantwax n-alkanes. The same relationship is evident for diploptene and long-chain n-alkanes in soils from the Willamette Valley. Microorganisms indigenous to soils and soil erosion are indicated as the biological source and physical process, respectively, for diploptene in coastal sediments. Similarity between the stable carbon isotopic composition (delta 13CPDB) of diploptene isolated from soil in the Willamette Valley (-31.2 +/- 0.3%) and from sediments deposited throughout the Washington coastal environment (-31.2 +/- 0.5%) supports this argument. Values of delta for diploptene in river sediments are variable and 8-17% lighter, indicating that an additional biological source such as methane-oxidizing bacteria makes a significant contribution to the diploptene record in river sediments. Selective biodegradation resulting from a difference in the physicochemical association within eroded particles can explain the absence of the more-13C-depleted form of diploptene in Washington coastal sediments, but this mechanism remains unproven.  相似文献

The powder XRD analysis of ringwoodite(γ-Fe2SiO4),which was synthesized in a II-stage anvil high-pressure capsule,was made,Its unit-cell parameter was calculated:a=8.219A,After the refinements,for several cycles,of the oxygen parameter x and the occupancy rate of Si in octahedron site,i.e.,the iversion degree u,the final result is R=0.077,when x=0.379A and u=27.5%,with the structural formula (Fe1.725 Si0.275)VI(Si0.725Fe0.275)IV O4 and atomic distances(Fe,Si)VI-O=2.022 A and (Si,Fe)IV-O=1.836A,Meanwhile,the Moessbauer spectroscopic analysis of the sample was conducted and the results obtained are in good agreement with those of X-ray structural analysis ,This paper focuses on the phase transformation and the properties of bonds of α－Fe2SiO4→γ-Fe2SiO4.  相似文献

土壤风蚀造成的直接生态后果是土地资源的退化。在春播前两次沙尘暴事件中,对科尔沁沙地几种具有代表性的土地类型的土壤风蚀量及土壤特性进行了野外测定、分析,结果表明:(1)在同一沙尘暴天气下,由于土地利用和耕作方式的不同,土壤风蚀量存在着差异,新垦农地和翻耕农地的风蚀量显著高于未垦草地、免耕农地和麻黄地;免耕农地则与未垦草地的风蚀量相差不大,风蚀危害较轻;麻黄地几乎不受风蚀侵害。新垦农地、翻耕农地、免耕农地、未垦草地、麻黄地两次观测的土壤风蚀量平均值依次为24.59、15.60、2.26、1.46和0.22 g/h.cm2。(2)基于土壤特性计算的土壤退化指数结果表明,新垦农地和翻耕农地发生了较为严重的退化。  相似文献

研究了热分解法和电沉积法制备二氧化铅电极的工艺,通过对苯酚的电解和生成羟基自由基的量,比较了两种方法制得的电极的催化性能,并比较了采用电沉积法制备电极时掺杂铋或镧对电极的催化性能的影响。实验结果表明,这4种电极都具有良好的电催化性能,并且明显降低了槽电压,且对苯酚的降解均符合一级反应动力学,电沉积法制得的电极的催化性能优于热分解法制得的电极,掺镧的电极优于无掺杂和掺铋的电极。  相似文献
