This paper deals with the problem of T‐bar penetration. New kinematically admissible velocity fields are derived from elastic solutions of incompressible material using Airy stress function. These velocity fields are used to obtain upper bounds to collapse loads. Two particular solutions are presented, one for a rough contact surface between the T‐bar and soil and the other for a smooth contact surface. The merit of the solutions is that within the boundaries of the velocity field, the soil is required to shear compatibly and continuously. Therefore, these solutions can easily be combined with the strain path method to estimate rate and softening effects. Analysis including consideration of strain rate effect showed that the new mechanisms predict, under certain conditions, lower values than previously published upper bound solutions. We construct the outline of a third order secular theory for the four major planets. We apply the Hori-Lie technique to solve the problem. We take into consideration both parts of the perturbing function. Our canonical variables are those of H. Poincaré. Our periodic terms are the only 2:5 and 1:2 critical terms of J-S and U-N respectively. Terms of degree higher than the second in the Poincaré canonical variables H, K, P, Q are neglected.  相似文献

Some properties of the quantitiesB 2m (Smith, 1977) inherent in the frequency-domain approach have been deduced, and a general expression for them in terms of the eclipse elementsr 1,2,i andL 1 of the basic model has been presented (Section 2).An expansion for the loss of light (1–l) into a Fourier sine series alone have been introduced, and its coefficientsb m presented (Section 3) in terms of the same eclipse elements. A method of increasing the rate of convergence of this series has been given in Section 4. The methods for obtaining the elements of eclipsing binaries by making use of all these quantities in the frequency-domain can likewise be generalized to cover the photometric effects of gravitational and radiative interaction between the components.  相似文献

Thick conglomerate and sandstone lithofacies of Yingcheng Formation in Changling Sag are tight gas reservoirs. The formation contains a fair amount of volcanic clasts and accumulated in a deltaic system that spans from delta plain to prodelta depositional setting. High-quality reservoirs are only a small fraction of these thick siliciclastic rocks. Petrographic analysis has been used to assess diagenetic processes, paragenetic sequence, and their effects on the reservoir qualities. The major loss of primary porosity is due to compaction along with grain-coating, pore-filling clay, and quartz cements. Alteration of volcanic rock fragments supplied alkali cations which favored formation of chlorite, smectite, and zeolite cements. The thickness of the chlorite coating decreases from the delta plain to the distal part of the delta front. On the contrary, the content of the zeolite cement increases toward the distal part of the delta front. Quartz and feldspar cements were ubiquitous due to high SiO2 concentration and alkali cations. Early dissolution of volcanic rock fragments and feldspars by freshwater increased porosity but did not contribute much to the permeability because pore-throats are predominantly occluded with clay and pseudomatrix. Late-stage dissolution of the zeolite cement was caused by organic acid expelled from maturation of organic matter. Although the reservoirs with chlorite coatings have moderate porosity, the permeability in situ is very low and pore-throat sizes are small. The high-quality reservoirs are medium- to fine-grained zeolite-dissolved sandstones developed in the distal part of the delta front and shallow lacustrine.  相似文献

For the countries with a developed stone industry the waste generated in the natural stone processing plants pose environmental and economic problems. The utilisation of stone waste in various areas is still under research. In addition, there are only a limited number of studies concerning the use of stone waste obtained from processing plants in the stabilisation of clayey soil. Furthermore, none of the studies in the literature investigated the effect of the characteristics of the stone on the stabilisation of the soil. This is the first study that compares the efficiency of the waste calcitic marble, dolomitic marble and granite powder as additives for the stabilisation of clayey soil. Artificial soil samples were prepared in the laboratory using bentonite and kaolinite. Natural stone waste powder was added to the soil samples at different percentages, and the index and compaction parameters of the stabilised soil were analysed. The results showed that the types of waste powder used in this study, like lime, could be used as stabilisers. As the percentage of additives increased, the plasticity index of the clayey soil decreased and the physical properties of the soil changed from clay to silt. In terms of compaction parameters, the use of all types of natural waste powder in the study resulted in a decrease in the optimum water content and an increase in the maximum dry unit weight. The lowest optimum water content and the highest maximum dry unit weight were obtained from the dolomitic marble powder.  相似文献

The Um Ghannam area lies within the core of Hafafit Complex, South Eastern Desert. This area is occupied mainly by granitic gneiss (orthogneiss). However, the granitic gneiss is extruded by swarm metarhyolite dykes and quartz veins. The studied metarhyolite dyke is classified into two distinctive zones. However, the intense degree of hydrothermal alteration can partition this dyke into weakly and extremely altered zones. According to the extraordinary diversity in color, this dyke is distinguished into gray to dark gray (weakly altered) and greenish (extremely altered) metarhyolite. Petrographical, mineralogical, and geochemical characteristics of the two distinctive zones are detected in a representative sample. Petrographically, the weakly altered zone is mainly represented by chloritization of primary biotite, garnet, and epidote, and argillitization of primary plagioclase. Although the extremely altered zone contains intensely altered remnants of the original rock, the extremely altered zone is distinguished by intense oxidation products (carbonate minerals and quartz, with significant amounts of secondary Cr-muscovite and hematite). The mineralogical studies are imposed on the millimeter and the micrometer scale in this important hydrogeothermal system. Except for Ca and Mg, most of the major elements are depleted at the extremely altered zone. However, the extremely altered zone is enriched in trace elements (Cr, Mn, Co, and Ni). The major elements of the extremely altered zone reflect the significant alterations (desilication, muscovitization, and carbonatization). These alteration processes have taken place in the hydrogeothermal system in the extremely altered zone. The geothermal fluid is responsible for these hydrothermal alterations. High fO2 and high temperature are characteristic features of this fluid. Then, the high-field-strength elements such as Zr, Ti, and P are depleted as a significant hydrothermal alteration. Also, nuclear elements with the anion of (CO3)2? can travel as molecular complexes (carbonates), as long as the chemical and structural conditions are suitable for the movement of these elements from the metarhyolite dyke to redeposit and accumulate in another geologic formation. The rare earth elements La and Ce, as well as Yb and Lu, are partially mobilized during intensity alterations. The rare earth elements (REEs) are depleted in abundance with enrichment of CO2 from the weakly altered zone to the extremely altered zone. The REE budget is decreased from the weakly altered zone to the extremely altered zone as 121.17 to (27.38???16.52), respectively. The significant depletion of ∑REEs is controlled by dissolution of monazite. Monazite breakdown and even apatite formation can be caused by alkaline fluid. This fluid is related to event and thermal stage. However, the negative anomaly of Eu can be noticed in all studied samples. Then, Eu anomaly may be formed from plagioclase fractionation. The weakly altered metarhyolite zone and orthogneiss have lower HREE/LREE (0.07–0.11), respectively, relative to the extremely altered metarhyolite zone (0.17???0.2). Even all studied samples at two significant zones are characterized by the enrichment of ∑LREEs relative to ∑HREEs.  相似文献

We provide new insights into the prograde evolution of HP/LT metasedimentary rocks on the basis of detailed petrologic examination, element-partitioning analysis, and thermodynamic modelling of well-preserved Fe–Mg–carpholite- and Fe–Mg–chloritoid-bearing rocks from the Afyon Zone (Anatolia). We document continuous and discontinuous compositional (ferromagnesian substitution) zoning of carpholite (overall X Mg = 0.27–0.73) and chloritoid (overall X Mg = 0.07–0.30), as well as clear equilibrium and disequilibrium (i.e., reaction-related) textures involving carpholite and chloritoid, which consistently account for the consistent enrichment in Mg of both minerals through time, and the progressive replacement of carpholite by chloritoid. Mg/Fe distribution coefficients calculated between carpholite and chloritoid vary widely within samples (2.2–20.0). Among this range, only values of 7–11 correlate with equilibrium textures, in agreement with data from the literature. Equilibrium phase diagrams for metapelitic compositions are calculated using a newly modified thermodynamic dataset, including most recent data for carpholite, chloritoid, chlorite, and white mica, as well as further refinements for Fe–carpholite, and both chloritoid end-members, as required to reproduce accurately petrologic observations (phase relations, experimental constraints, Mg/Fe partitioning). Modelling reveals that Mg/Fe partitioning between carpholite and chloritoid is greatly sensitive to temperature and calls for a future evaluation of possible use as a thermometer. In addition, calculations show significant effective bulk composition changes during prograde metamorphism due to the fractionation of chloritoid formed at the expense of carpholite. We retrieve PT conditions for several carpholite and chloritoid growth stages (1) during prograde stages using unfractionated, bulk-rock XRF analyses, and (2) at peak conditions using compositions fractionated for chloritoid. The PT paths reconstructed for the Kütahya and Afyon areas shed light on contrasting temperature conditions for these areas during prograde and peak stages.  相似文献

The southeastern Anatolia comprises numbers of tectono-magmatic/stratigraphic units such as the metamorphic massifs,the ophiolites,the volcanic arc units and the granitoid rocks.All of them play important role for the late Cretaceous evolution of the southern Neotethys.The spatial and temporal relations of these units suggest the progressive development of coeval magmatism and thrusting during the late Cretaceous northward subduction/accretion.Our new U-Pb zircon data from the rhyolitic rocks of the wide-spread volcanic arc unit show ages of(83.1±2.2)-(74.6±4.4) Ma. Comparison of the ophiolites,the volcanic arc units and the granitoids suggest following late Cretaceous geological evolution.The ophiolites formed in a suprasubduction zone(SSZ) setting as a result of northward intra-oceanic subduction.A wide-spread island-arc tholeiitic volcanic unit developed on the top of the SSZ-type crust during 83-75 Ma.Related to regional plate convergence, northward under-thrusting of SSZ-type ophiolites and volcanic arc units was initiated beneath the Tauride platform(Malatya-Keban) and followed by the intrusion of l-type calc-alkaline volcanic arc granitoids during 84-82 Ma.New U-Pb ages from the arc-related volcanic-sedimentary unit and granitoids indicate that under-thrusting of ophiolites together with the arc-related units beneath the Malatya-Keban platform took place soon after the initiation of the volcanic arc on the top of the SSZtype crust.Then the arc-related volcanic-sedimentary unit continued its development and lasted at~75 Ma until the deposition of the late Campanian—Maastrichtian shallow marine limestone.The subduction trench eventually collided with the Bitlis-Ptrge massif giving rise to HP-IT metamorphism of the Bitlis massif.Although the development of the volcanic arc units and the granitoids were coeval at the initial stage of the subduction/accretion both tectono-magmatic units were genetically different from each other.  相似文献
