Using seismic waveform data recorded at station YK (Yingkou) of Liaoning Telemetry Digital Seismic Network, this paper studied the characteristics of shear-wave splitting before and after the Xiuyan MS5.9 (ML5.3) earthquake in November 29, 1999 with SAM method. The results show that the predominant polarizations of fast shear-waves at YK is in direction of ENE-WSW, consistent with the direction of regional principal compressive stress and also consistent with the direction of the regional tectonic stress field in North China; time-delays increasing before Xiuyan earthquake may shows accumulation of stress before earthquake. The predominant polarizations of fast shear-waves at YK are also related to the spatial distribution of small earthquakes and correlate with the fault strike. The histogram of monthly average polarizations of fast shear-waves shows that polarizations of fast shear-waves also seems to change from two months before the earthquake, but it still needs more data for verification. 相似文献

As a preliminary step for predicting groundwater flow in a plateau 30–50 m above sea level, a model for three-dimensional analysis of groundwater flow was formulated and its validity was verified. The plateau consists of Neogene sedimentary rocks and a Quaternary deposit. Most of the groundwater originates in precipitation, with the groundwater table lying in the Quaternary deposit. Steady-state analysis was conducted by using the finite element method. The results of pore-water pressure measurement and water examination were useful in verifying the validity of the model. In constructing the model, reducing the hydraulic conductivity according to the depth on the basis of the results of the actual measurement was important. 相似文献

The spatio-temporal variations in stable isotope signatures (??13C and ??15N) and C/N ratios of particulate organic matter (POM), and physicochemical parameters in a creek water column were examined in an estuarine mangrove ecosystem of Xuan Thuy National Park, Vietnam. The objective was to examine the factors influencing creek water properties, and the sources and exchange of POM in this important mangrove ecosystem. The diel and seasonal variations in water temperature, flow velocity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and salinity demonstrated that tidal level, season, and biological factors affected the creek water properties. Mangroves had relatively low ??15N and very low ??13C values, with respective average values of 1.5?±?0.9?? and ?28.1?±?1.4??. The low mangrove leaf ??15N indicated minor anthropogenic nitrogen loading to the mangrove forests. A significant positive correlation between POM?C??13C and salinity along the axis of Ba Lat Estuary, Red River, indicated that marine phytoplankton (??13C value, ?21.4?±?0.5??) was the predominant source of POM at the estuary mouth. Based on the co-variation of ??13C and C/N ratios, marine phytoplankton and mangrove detritus were predominant in POM of major creeks and small creeks, respectively. During the diurnal tidal cycle, the dynamics of POM were affected by sources of organic matter, tidal energy, and seasonal factors. The contribution of mangrove detritus to POM reached a maximum at the low tide and was enhanced during the rainy season, whereas marine phytoplankton contribution was highest at high tide. 相似文献

Soil–water characteristic curve (SWCC) is one of the input components required for conducting the transient seepage analysis in unsaturated soil for estimating pore water pressure (PWP). SWCC is usually defined by saturated volumetric water content (θs), residual water content (RWC) and air entry value (AEV). Mathematical model of PWP could be useful to unearth the important SWCC components and the physics behind it. Based on authors’ knowledge, rarely any mathematical models describing the relationship between PWP and SWCC components are found. In the present work, an evolutionary approach, namely, multi-gene genetic programming (MGGP) has been applied to formulate the relationship between the PWP profile along soil depth and input variables for SWCC (θs, RWC and AEV) for a given duration of ponding. The PWP predicted using the MGGP model has been compared with those generated using finite element simulations. The results indicate that the MGGP model is able to extrapolate the PWP satisfactory along the soil depth for a given set of boundary conditions. Based on the given AEV and saturated water content, the PWP along the depth can be determined from the newly developed MGGP model, which will be useful for design and analysis of slopes and landfill covers. 相似文献

A spectral method to investigate the effect of Fe3+, Fe2+ on the thermostability of phycocyanin (PC) ofSpirulina maxima showed that iron ions provent decrease of visible light absorbance and fluorescence intensity of PC. Increase in denaturation temperature caused by Fe3+ was observed by the micro-differential scanning calorimetric method. All results showed iron ions maintain the aggregation stability of the PC. The absorption spectrum of phycocyanobilin (PCB, a prosthetic group of PC) with Fe3+ in chloroform was quite different from that of free PCB.
