Natural radioactivity in sediment of Wei River,China 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The concentrations of natural radionuclides in sediment of Wei River of China were measured using γ-ray spectrometry with
the aim of estimating the radiation hazard as establishing a database for radioactivity levels of river sediment of China.
The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in sediment samples ranged from 10.4 to 39.9 Bq kg−1, 15.3 to 54.8 Bq kg−1 and 514.8 to 1,175.5 Bq kg−1, respectively. The concentrations of these radionuclides were compared with the typical world values and the average activities
of Chinese soil and Shaanxi soil. Radium equivalent activity (Raeq), external hazard index (H
ex) and representative level index (I
γr) were calculated for the samples to assess the radiation hazards arising due to the use of these sediment samples in the
construction of dwellings. All the sediment samples have Raeq lower than the limit of 370 Bq kg−1, H
ex less than unity and I
γr close to 1 Bq kg−1. The overall mean outdoor terrestrial gamma dose rate is 64.8 nGy h−1 and the corresponding outdoor annual effective dose is 0.079 mSv. None of the studied location is considered a radiological

MODFLOW is a groundwater modeling program. It can be compiled and remedied according to the practical applications. Because
of its structure and fixed data format, MODFLOW can be integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology for
water resource management. The North China Plain (NCP), which is the politic, economic and cultural center of China, is facing
with water resources shortage and water pollution. Groundwater is the main water resource for industrial, agricultural and
domestic usage. It is necessary to evaluate the groundwater resources of the NCP as an entire aquifer system. With the development
of computer and internet information technology it is also necessary to integrate the groundwater model with the GIS technology.
Because the geological and hydrogeological data in the NCP was mainly in MAPGIS format, the powerful function of GIS of disposing
of and analyzing spatial data and computer languages such as Visual C and Visual Basic were used to define the relationship
between the original data and model data. After analyzing the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the NCP, the groundwater
flow numerical simulation modeling was constructed with MODFLOW. On the basis of GIS, a dynamic evaluation system for groundwater
resources under the internet circumstance was completed. During the process of constructing the groundwater model, a water
budget was analyzed, which showed a negative budget in the NCP. The simulation period was from 1 January 2002 to 31 December
2003. During this period, the total recharge of the groundwater system was 49,374 × 106 m3 and the total discharge was 56,530 × 106 m3 the budget deficit was −7,156 × 106 m3. In this integrated system, the original data including graphs and attribution data could be stored in the database. When
the process of evaluating and predicting groundwater flow was started, these data were transformed into files that the core
program of MODFLOW could read. The calculated water level and drawdown could be displayed and reviewed online. 相似文献

Distribution of Cd,Pb, Zn and Cu and their chemical speciations in soils from a peri-smelter area in northeast China 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
An exploratory study on soil contamination of heavy metals was carried out surrounding Huludao zinc smelter in Liaoning province,
China. The distribution of total heavy metals and their chemical speciations were investigated. The correlations between heavy
metal speciations and soil pH values in corresponding sites were also analyzed. In general, Cd, Zn, Pb, Cu and As presented
a significant contamination in the area near the smelter, comparied with Environmental Quality Standards for Soils in China.
The geoaccumulation index showed the degree of contamination: Cd > Zn > Pb > Cu > As. There was no obvious pollution of Cr
and Ni in the studied area. The speciation analysis showed that the dominant fraction of Cd and Zn was the acid soluble fraction,
and the second was the residual fraction. Pb was mostly associated with the residual fraction, which constituted more than
50% of total concentration in all samples. Cu in residual fraction accounted for a high percentage (40–80%) of total concentration,
and the proportion of Cu in the oxidizable fraction is higher than that of other metals. The distribution pattern of Pb and
Zn was obviously affected by soil pH. It seemed that Pb and Zn content in acid solution fraction increased with increasing
soil pH values, while Cd content in acid soluble fraction accounted for more proportion in neutral and alkaline groups than
acidic one. The fraction distribution patterns of Cu in three pH groups were very similar and independent of soil pH values.
And the residual fraction of Cu took a predominant part (50%) of the total content. 相似文献

Many cities around the world are developed at alluvial fans. With economic and industrial development and increase in population,
quality and quantity of groundwater are often damaged by over-exploitation in these areas. In order to realistically assess
these groundwater resources and their sustainability, it is vital to understand the recharge sources and hydrogeochemical
evolution of groundwater in alluvial fans. In March 2006, groundwater and surface water were sampled for major element analysis
and stable isotope (oxygen-18 and deuterium) compositions in Xinxiang, which is located at a complex alluvial fan system composed
of a mountainous area, Taihang Mt. alluvial fan and Yellow River alluvial fan. In the Taihang mountainous area, the groundwater
was recharged by precipitation and was characterized by Ca–HCO3 type water with depleted δ18O and δD (mean value of −8.8‰ δ18O). Along the flow path from the mountainous area to Taihang Mt. alluvial fan, the groundwater became geochemically complex
(Ca–Na–Mg–HCO3–Cl–SO4 type), and heavier δ18O and δD were observed (around −8‰ δ18O). Before the surface water with mean δ18O of −8.7‰ recharged to groundwater, it underwent isotopic enrichment in Taihang Mt. alluvial fan. Chemical mixture and ion
exchange are expected to be responsible for the chemical evolution of groundwater in Yellow River alluvial fan. Transferred
water from the Yellow River is the main source of the groundwater in the Yellow River alluvial fan in the south of the study
area, and stable isotopic compositions of the groundwater (mean value of −8.8‰ δ18O) were similar to those of transferred water (−8.9‰), increasing from the southern boundary of the study area to the distal
end of the fan. The groundwater underwent chemical evolution from Ca–HCO3, Na–HCO3, to Na–SO4. A conceptual model, integrating stiff diagrams, is used to describe the spatial variation of recharge sources, chemical
evolution, and groundwater flow paths in the complex alluvial fan aquifer system. 相似文献

Concentrations of trace elements and heavy metals (Al, As, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Sr, V and Zn) in
the Danjiangkou Reservoir, the water source area of the Middle Route of China’s interbasin South to North Water Transfer Project,
were analyzed using an Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-AES) and compared with the national and
international standards for drinking water. The results indicated that concentrations of As, Pb, Sb and Se in the Reservoir
exceeded the standards and they would pose health risk for residents in the region and the water receiving areas of the interbasin
water transfer project. Spatial and temporal variability of the trace elements and heavy metals in the Reservoir implies their
mixed sources of natural processing and anthropogenic activities in the upper drainage of the Reservoir. The research results

Gamma activity from the naturally occurring radionuclides namely, 226Ra, 232Th, the primordial radionuclide 40K was measured in the soil of Cuihua Mountain National Geological Park, China using γ-ray spectrometry technique. The mean
activity of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K were found to be 27.2 ± 6.5, 43.9 ± 6.2 and 653.1 ± 127.6 Bq kg−1, respectively. The concentrations of these radionuclides were compared with the typical world values and the average activities
of Chinese soil. The radium equivalent activity, the air absorbed dose rate, the annual effective dose rate, and the external
hazard index were evaluated and compared with the internationally approved values. All the soil samples have Raeq lower than the limit of 370 Bq kg−1 and H

Glaciers in the Tuotuo River basin, western China, have been monitored in recent decades by applying topographical maps and
high-resolution satellite images. Results indicate that most of glaciers in the Tuotuo River basin have retreated in the period
from 1968/1971 to 2001/2002, and their shrinkage area is 3.2% of the total area in the late 1960s. To assess the influence
of glacier runoff on river runoff, a modified degree–day model including potential clear-sky direct solar radiation has been
applied to the glaciated regions of the river basin over the period 1961–2004. It was found that glacier runoff has increased
in the last 44 years, especially in the 1990s when a two-thirds increase in river runoff was derived from the increase in
glacier runoff caused by loss of ice mass in the entire Tuotuo River basin. 相似文献

Unconsolidated sand, gravel and clay deposits near Beihai and in the Leizhou Peninsula in southern China form an unconfined
aquifer, aquitard and a confined aquifer. Water and soil samples were collected from the two aquifers in the coastal Beihai
area for the determination of chemical compositions, minerals and soluble ions. Hydrogeochemical modeling of three flow paths
through the aquitard are carried out using PHREEQC to determine water–rock interactions along the flow paths. The results
indicate that the dissolution of anorthite, fluorite, halite, rhodochrosite and CO2, and precipitation of potash feldspar and kaolinite may be occurring when groundwater leaks through the aquitard from the
unconfined aquifer to the confined aquifer. Cation exchanges between Na and Ca can also happen along the flow paths. 相似文献

Mapping susceptibility of rainfall-triggered shallow landslides using a probabilistic approach 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
To prepare a landslide susceptibility map is essential to identify hazardous regions, construct appropriate mitigation facilities,
and plan emergency measures for a region prone to landslides triggered by rainfall. The conventional mapping methods require
much information about past landslides records and contributing terrace and rainfall. They also rely heavily on the quantity
and quality of accessible information and subjectively of the map builder. This paper contributes to a systematic and quantitative
assessment of mapping landslide hazards over a region. Geographical Information System is implemented to retrieve relevant
parameters from data layers, including the spatial distribution of transient fluid pressures, which is estimated using the
TRIGRS program. The factor of safety of each pixel in the study region is calculated analytically. Monte Carlo simulation
of random variables is conducted to process the estimation of fluid pressure and factor of safety for multiple times. The
failure probability of each pixel is thus estimated. These procedures of mapping landslide potential are demonstrated in a
case history. The analysis results reveal a positive correlation between landslide probability and accumulated rainfall. This
approach gives simulation results compared to field records. The location and size of actual landslide are well predicted.
An explanation for some of the inconsistencies is also provided to emphasize the importance of site information on the accuracy

This study presents a laboratory study of the following two aspects: (1) the influence of sea laver treatment acid on the
geoenvironmental properties of Ariake Sea tidal mud, and (2) the natural remediation effect on the sea laver treatment acid
contaminated Ariake Sea tidal mud caused by the upward seepage of pore water liquid in the mud. Firstly, the mechanisms of
the transport of sea laver treatment acid in the Ariake Sea tidal mud and the generation mechanisms of the upward seepage
flow in the Ariake Sea tidal mud are discussed. Secondly, a series of one-dimensional laboratory infiltration tests were carried
out to investigate the deterioration of the Ariake Sea tidal mud caused by the sea laver acid treatment practice. Test results
reveal that the acid treatment practice caused considerable change in the geochemical properties of the mud in terms of increase
in sulfide content and decrease in pH value. After the treatment by the sea laver treatment acid, the sulfide content of the
mud even exceeded the safe limit value for the benthos, which represents undesirable living condition for benthos. Thirdly,
series of laboratory fresh seawater infiltration tests for the deteriorated Iida site mud were conducted to illustrate this
natural remediation efficiency. It is found that with the infiltration of the fresh seawater, the sulfide content of the Iida
site mud was considerably reduced and pH value increased to an acceptable range for benthos living in the tidal flat mud.
With the increase in the infiltration time and the hydraulic gradient, the remediation efficiency could be increased. 相似文献
