This paper evaluates the ability of simplified superstructure models, including two shear frame models and a single-story model, in predicting global responses of a full-scale five-story steel moment-frame buildings isolated by triple friction pendulum bearings subjected to earthquake motions. The investigated responses include displacement of the isolation system, roof drift, story drift, and floor acceleration. Mechanical properties of the simplified superstructure models were derived from the modal information of a verified full 3-D model. The comparison between the analytical responses and experimental responses shows that the simplified models can well predict the displacement of the isolation system. Furthermore, the shear-frame models are adequate for predicting floor acceleration when the specimen is subjected to horizontal ground motions. However, when the specimen is subjected to 3-D motions, the shear-frame models un-conservatively predict floor acceleration. The full 3-D model improves the prediction of story drift compared with the simplified models for both horizontal and 3-D motions. 相似文献

Pan evaporation (Ep) is an important indicator of water and energy and the decline of Ep has been reported in many regions over the last decades. The climate and Ep are dependent on each other. In this study, the temporal trends of Ep and main Ep drivers, namely mean air temperature (Ta), wind speed (u), global solar radiation (Rs), net long‐wave radiation(Rnl) and vapour pressure deficit (D) from 1970 to 2012, were calculated on the basis of 26 meteorological stations on the Tibetan Plateau. The arithmetic average of Ep from 26 stations decreased with the rate of ?11.91 mm a?2; the trends of Rs, Rnl, Ta, u and D were ?1.434 w m?2 decade?1, 0.2511 w m?2 decade?1, 0.3590°C decade?1, ?0.2376 m s?1 decade?1 and 9.523 Pa decade?1, respectively. The diffuse irradiance is an essential parameter to model Ep and quantify the contribution of climatic factors to changing Ep. 60 724 observations of Rs and diffuse solar irradiance (Rd) from seven of the 26 stations were used to develop the correlation between the diffuse fraction (Rd/Rs), and the clearness index (Rs/Ro). On the basis of the estimation of the diffuse component of Rs and climatic data, we modified the PenPan model to estimate Chinese micro‐pan evaporation (Ep) and assess the attribution of Ep dynamics using partial derivatives. The results showed that there was a good agreement between the observed and calculated daily Ep values. The observed decrease in Ep was mostly due to declining wind speed (?13.7 mm a?2) with some contributions from decreasing solar irradiance (?3.1 mm a?2); and the increase of temperature had a large positive effect (4.55 mm a?2) in total whilst the increase of Rnl had insignificant effect (0.35 mm a?2) on Ep rates. Soils are recipients of contaminants from the burning of metal-containing materials in bonfires. In order to obtain a better understanding of the impacts of bonfires on soils, a total of 218 surface soil samples were collected from a traditional bonfire site in Galway City, Ireland. Concentrations of 14 elements including Al, Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb, Sc, Ti and Zn in 30 selected samples were determined using ICP-OES. Strong variations were observed for these elements. Concentrations of Zn, Cu and Pb were elevated, indicating that these metals may be influenced by human activities. Therefore, concentrations of these three metals were further measured using a portable X-ray fluorescence (P-XRF) analyser (n = 218) and their spatial distribution was investigated using a Geographical Information System (GIS). Soils with elevated metal concentrations, as evident from the spatial distribution maps, coincided with the locations of traditional festival bonfires. The results of this study provide useful information for the management of bonfire sites including the enforcement of a control policy regarding the burning of materials in bonfires. 相似文献

AbstractThe impact of climate and land-use changes on hydrological processes and sediment yield is investigated in the Be River catchment, Vietnam, using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) hydrological model. The sensitivity analysis, model calibration and validation indicated that the SWAT model could reasonably simulate the hydrology and sediment yield in the catchment. From this, the responses of the hydrology and sediment to climate change and land-use changes were considered. The results indicate that deforestation had increased the annual flow (by 1.2%) and sediment load (by 11.3%), and that climate change had also significantly increased the annual streamflow (by 26.3%) and sediment load (by 31.7%). Under the impact of coupled climate and land-use changes, the annual streamflow and sediment load increased by 28.0% and 46.4%, respectively. In general, during the 1978–2000 period, climate change influenced the hydrological processes in the Be River catchment more strongly than the land-use change.

We would like to present a new control system for the solar telescope now in operation at the Swiss institute, Istituto Ricerche Solari Locarno (IRSOL). The control software is multi‐client capable, and optionally uses the primary image of the sun projected on a position sensor or the axis encoder for guiding. The hardware and software consist of three completely separate levels, which communicate with each other via ASCII commands. We shall describe the general principles implemented in the course of the development. We consider it important that this text is also applicable to other astronomical device controls. 贵州荔波董哥洞3号石笋的同位素年龄及古气候信息 总被引:12,自引:2,他引:12
石笋是岩溶记录中最全面、最系统的古气候环境信息库,研究表明,洞穴内、外环境变化,都不同程度地显示在石笋的组成、结构构造、沉积 (生长 )纹层及其层面构造、沉积速率和古气候环境变化等方面。利用洞穴石笋保存的信息重建古环境,是近 2 0年来的热门课题之一。当前全球气候变化预测研究中,洞穴石笋的高分辨率定年和碳、氧同位素组成的变化规律,为这个领域的突破和填补空白作出了重大贡献。本文通过对荔波董哥洞 3号石笋进行热电离质谱 (TIMS)U-系测年及碳氧同位素分析,获得了距今 16.33万年至 9.13万年的古气候信息。石笋在大于 16.33万年前开始生长,9.13万年后停止生长,平均沉积速率为 2.87mm/ 100a(未扣出间断时间 ),属中更新世的产物。其年龄与δ18O的变化可与深海岩芯V2 8~ 2 38同位素记录所揭示的第五和第六阶段以及与北方离石黄土层 (L2 )和下马兰黄土第一古土壤层 (S1)进行对比。它反映此阶段区内经历了寒冷和温暖 (间夹冷期 )等气候变化,与全球古气候变化波动基本一致,同时也存在地区性的气候变化。 相似文献

采用Sm Nd同位素定年方法 ,测得江苏北部新沂地区踢球山三个榴辉岩岩体时代为 :2 2 1.6± 8.4Ma ,2 13.6± 9.2Ma和 2 16 .6± 8.1Ma;εNd(t)分别为 - 2 .9,- 2 .9和 - 3.0。采用Rb Sr定年方法得到其中一个榴辉岩的年龄为 2 0 1± 2 1Ma ;87Sr/ 86Sr =0 .70 5 35± 37。Sm Md年龄被看作为踢球山超高压变质之后板块折返过程中的高压榴辉岩相重结晶阶段年龄。Rb Sr年龄反映了踢球山榴辉岩体的板块折返过程中的角闪岩相退变质阶段开始年龄。为中朝板块与扬子板块碰撞时代主要发生在晚三叠世的观点提供了依据 相似文献
