The exclusively deep-sea ascidian family Octacnemidae comprises several genera in which the oral siphon has hypertrophied to form two large lips which create an “oral hood” capable of capturing motile prey. Megalodicopia hians is typical of this carnivorous family and has been reported to prey upon small epibenthic crustaceans. Distribution of M. hians in the Monterey Canyon system (36°45′N, 122°00′W) (California) was determined with remotely operated vehicles. M. hians was found sparsely to depths of at least 3800 m throughout the canyon; however, abundance was greatest within the oxygen-minimum zone (400–800 m). Eggs, sperm, and recently fertilized embryos were obtained repeatedly from adults returned to the laboratory in vivo, indicating that this species free-spawns routinely. Overall egg diameter (ovum plus chorion, plus follicle cells) was 175–190 μm—considerably smaller than previously reported for this species. Embryonic development at temperature and oxygen concentrations equivalent to the oxygen-minimum zone was 2–4 d and, embryos gave rise to typical phlebobranch “simple” tadpole larvae. Larval period was extremely variable, and settlement/metamorphosis occurred up to 3 months post-hatching. The Hahaigang W–Mo polymetallic skarn deposit is located in the central-eastern part of Gangdese tectono-magmatic belt in Lhasa terrane, Tibet. The deposit was discovered in 2007 with currently proven 46 million tons of WO3 ores, 12 million tons of Mo ores, and 1.31 million tons of combined Cu–Pb–Zn ores, at an average grade of 0.20% WO3, 0.07% Mo, 0.026% Cu, 0.49% Pb, and 3.1% Zn. Ore bodies occur in veins or disseminations, and are confined within the NE-striking Dalong fault zone which is hosted by the Lower-Permian Pangna Group of dominantly quartz sandstone and slate. Several granitic plutons are exposed in the area or known from drill-holes. Ages of these granitic plutons are determined by using zircon U–Pb LA–ICP–MS method. For example, the biotite monzogranite yields a 206Pb/238U–207Pb/238U concordia age of 58.66 ± 0.90 Ma and a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 57.02 ± 0.42 Ma. The granite porphyry yields a 206Pb/238U–207Pb/238U concordia age of 109.1 ± 8.9 Ma and a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 114.0 ± 2.6 Ma. The biotite monzogranite yields a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 56.1 ± 1.1 Ma. Re–Os isochron age of 63.2 ± 3.2 Ma from 5 molybdenite samples collected from the W–Mo skarn ores is also obtained in this study. The zircon U–Pb and molybdenite Re–Os geochronological data suggest that the W–Mo mineralization was not temporally associated with any of the dated igneous plutons. However, the molybdenite Re–Os age of 63.2 ± 3.2 Ma indicates that the W–Mo mineralization might have occurred during the main India–Eurasia collision that was initiated around 65 Ma. Microprobe analysis of ilvaite that occurs in two generations in the W–Mo skarn ores reveals a close relationship to Ca–Fe–F-rich hydrothermal fluids, which were probably derived from deeply-seated magmas. We suggest that ascent of the fluids was strictly controlled by the ore-controlling Dalong fault zone, and that chemical interaction and metasomatism between the fluids and the Lower-Permian Pangna quartz-feldspathic host rocks produced the ilvaite and the W–Mo polymetallic skarn deposit during the main India–Eurasia collision. Although the majority of the polymetallic deposits in the Gangdese belt are reported to be either pre- or post-main collision, it is evident from this study that the main collision also produced W–Mo polymetallic mineralization within the belt. 相似文献

Seal or cap-rock integrity is a safety issue during geological carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS). Industrial impurities such as SO2, O2, and NOx, may be present in CO2 streams from coal combustion sources. SO2 and O2 have been shown recently to influence rock reactivity when dissolved in formation water. Buoyant water-saturated supercritical CO2 fluid may also come into contact with the base of cap-rock after CO2 injection. Supercritical fluid-rock reactions have the potential to result in corrosion of reactive minerals in rock, with impurity gases additionally present there is the potential for enhanced reactivity but also favourable mineral precipitation.The first observation of mineral dissolution and precipitation on phyllosilicates and CO2 storage cap-rock (siliciclastic reservoir) core during water-saturated supercritical CO2 reactions with industrial impurities SO2 and O2 at simulated reservoir conditions is presented. Phyllosilicates (biotite, phlogopite and muscovite) were reacted in contact with a water-saturated supercritical CO2 containing SO2, or SO2 and O2, and were also immersed in the gas-saturated bulk water. Secondary precipitated sulfate minerals were formed on mineral surfaces concentrated at sheet edges. SO2 dissolution and oxidation resulted in solution pH decreasing to 0.74 through sulfuric acid formation. Phyllosilicate dissolution released elements to solution with ∼50% Fe mobilized. Geochemical modelling was in good agreement with experimental water chemistry. New minerals nontronite (smectite), hematite, jarosite and goethite were saturated in models. A cap-rock core siltstone sample from the Surat Basin, Australia, was also reacted in water-saturated supercritical CO2 containing SO2 or in pure supercritical CO2. In the presence of SO2, siderite and ankerite were corroded, and Fe-chlorite altered by the leaching of mainly Fe and Al. Corrosion of micas in the cap-rock was however not observed as the pH was buffered by carbonate dissolution. Ca-sulfate, and Fe-bearing precipitates were observed post SO2-CO2 reaction, mainly centered on surface cracks and an illite rich illite-smectite precipitate quantified. Water saturated impure supercritical CO2 was observed to have reactivity to rock-forming biotite, muscovite and phlogopite mineral separates. The Qilian–Qaidam orogenic belt at the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau has received increasing attention as it recorded a complete history from continental breakup to opening and closure of ocean basin, and to the ultimate continental collision in the time period from the Neoproterozoic to the Paleozoic. Determining a geochronological framework of the initiation and termination of the fossil Qilian Ocean subduction in the North Qilian orogenic belt plays an essential role in understanding the whole tectonic process. Dating the high-pressure metamorphic rocks in the North Qilian orogenic belt, such as blueschist and eclogite, is the key in this respect. A blueschist from the southern North Qilian orogenic belt was investigated with a combined metamorphic P–T and U–Pb, Lu–Hf, and Sm–Nd multichronometric approaches. Pseudosection modeling indicates that the blueschist was metamorphosed under peak P–T conditions of 1.4–1.6 GPa and 530–550 °C. Zircon U–Pb ages show no constraints on the metamorphism due to the lack of metamorphic growth of zircon. Lu–Hf and Sm–Nd ages of 466.3 ± 2.0 Ma and 462.2 ± 5.6 Ma were obtained for the blueschist, which is generally consistent with the U–Pb zircon ages of 467–489 Ma for adjacent eclogites. Lutetium and Sm zoning profiles in garnet indicate that the Lu–Hf and Sm–Nd ages are biased toward the formation of the garnet inner rim. The ages are thus interpreted to reflect the time of blueschist-facies metamorphism. Previous 40Ar/39Ar ages of phengitic muscovite from blueschist/eclogite in this area likely represent a cooling age due to the higher peak metamorphic temperature than the argon retention temperature. The differences of peak metamorphic conditions and metamorphic ages between the eclogites and adjacent blueschists indicate that this region likely comprises different tectonic slices, which had distinct P–T histories and underwent high-pressure metamorphism at different times. The initial opening of the Qilian Ocean could trace back to the early Paleozoic, and the ultimate closure of the Qilian Ocean was no earlier than c. 466 Ma. 相似文献

新疆西天山哈勒尕提-木祖克铁铜铅锌矿床地质特征及成矿条件分析 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
哈勒尕提-木祖克铁铜铅锌矿床是近年来在新疆西天山博罗科努成矿带内发现的一处典型的矽卡岩型铜多金属矿床,目前为中型规模,有达到大型矿床的潜力。矿体赋存于大瓦布拉克岩体与上奥陶统呼独克达坂组(O3h)大理岩、大理岩化灰岩的接触带。成矿受岩浆岩、地层岩性和接触带构造"三位一体"联合控制。大瓦布拉克岩体主要岩性为二长花岗岩和花岗闪长岩,岩石地球化学显示高硅、准铝、低镁、富碱、富钾,为I型花岗岩,富集大离子亲石元素,相对亏损高场强元素,具俯冲带岩浆岩的地球化学特点。呼独克达坂组(O3h)碳酸盐岩地球化学性质活泼且富含铜、锌,有利于含矿热液交代成矿,是区域找矿的优势层位。接触带构造既是成矿地球化学障,又是良好的成矿热液运移通道,直接控制着矿体的产出。 相似文献
