Roll vortices,which often appear when cold air outbreaks over warm ocean surfaces,are an important system for energy and substance exchange between the land surface and atmosphere.Numerical simulations were carried out in the study to simulate roll vortices in the convective boundary layer(CBL).The results indicate,that with proper atmospheric conditions,such as thermal instability in the CBL,stable stratification in the overlying layer and suitable wind shear,and a temperature jump between the two layers in a two-layer atmosphere,convective bands appear after adding initial pulses in the atmosphere.The simulated flow and temperature fields presented convective bands in the horizontal and roll vortices in the crosswind section. The structure of the roll vortices were similar to those observed in the cloud streets,as well as those from analytical solutions.Simulations also showed the influence of depth and instability strength of the CBL, as well as the stratification above the top of the CBL,on the orientation spacing and strength of the roll vortices.The fluxes caused by the convective rolls were also investigated,and should perhaps be taken into account when explaining the surface energy closure gap in the CBL. 相似文献

The Ordovician sedimentary rocks of the southeastern Lachlan Fold Belt in the Mystery Bay area are folded into two approximately coaxial and subhorizontally plunging fold series: F1 and F2. Regional domains with internally consistent F1 and F2 trends are juxtaposed along strike‐slip faults. Locally developed kink bands commonly have a close spatial relationship with the domain boundaries. A faulted domain boundary is exposed in coastal rocks at Mystery Bay between north‐northeasterly trending turbidites and northwesterly trending complexly deformed cherts and pelites of the Wagonga Beds. South of the boundary fault, F1 and F2 trends in the turbidite succession exhibit a segmented 75° counterclockwise rotation about a near‐vertical axis within a 750 m wide zone parallel with the coast, relative to regional trends preserved farther south. The rotation zone hosts prolific subvertical kink bands and crenulations. The turbidite succession youngs towards the east and hence its present position is incompatible with its projected along‐strike position on the western limb of a major anticline exposing the older Wagonga Beds. At least three generations of faulting are recognized. Within the coastal Wagonga Beds, a set of post‐F1 faults is subparallel to the tectonic grain and probably had vertical motion. Two systems of post‐F2 strike‐slip faults include a conjugate system in coastal outcrops, with offsets indicative of layer‐normal shortening; and a series of northerly trending faults, with probable sinistral displacements, recognized from inland exposures. 相似文献

Modern convergent zones at tropical latitudes are characterized by subduction of carbonate sediment. Although carbonate response to deformation is different from clay, they are commonly treated as having a similar rheology. This approximation, though, is inadequate since carbonate behavior is complicated by cementation and pressure solution. Our goal, here, is to focus on the deformation of carbonate sediment in the footwall of a major fossil thrust zone and compare it with a possible scenario in a modern environment. The focus area is the Monti Sibillini Thrust, in the Umbria-Marche sector of the Northern Apennines where the pelagic, Late Eocene-Oligocene carbonates of the Scaglia Cinerea Formation are underthrusted beneath the late Cretaceous-Middle Eocene Scaglia Rossa Formation. The data collected during this meso-structural study allowed for an interpretation of the temporal and spatial relationships between the observed deformation structures (S-C deformation bands, shear veins and stylolites). These results allow the development of a dynamic model for the deformation. The proposed model explains the observed features through cycles of fluid-pressure build up, hydraulic fracturing, and consecutive collapse, producing pressure-solution and stylolitization. 相似文献

Suspended sediment yield is a very important environmental indicator within Amazonian fluvial systems, especially for rivers dominated by inorganic particles, referred to as white water rivers. For vast portions of Amazonian rivers, suspended sediment concentration (SSC) is measured infrequently or not at all. However, remote sensing techniques have been used to estimate water quality parameters worldwide, from which data for suspended matter is the most successfully retrieved. This paper presents empirical models for SSC retrieval in Amazonian white water rivers using reflectance data derived from Landsat 5/TM. The models use multiple regression for both the entire dataset (global model, N = 504) and for five segmented datasets (regional models) defined by general geological features of drainage basins. The models use VNIR bands, band ratios, and the SWIR band 5 as input. For the global model, the adjusted R2 is 0.76, while the adjusted R2 values for regional models vary from 0.77 to 0.89, all significant (p-value < 0.0001). The regional models are subject to the leave-one-out cross validation technique, which presents robust results. The findings show that both the average error of estimation and the standard deviation increase as the SSC range increases. Regional models were more accurate when compared with the global model, suggesting changes in optical proprieties of water sampled at different sampling stations. Results confirm the potential for the estimation of SSC from Landsat/TM historical series data for the 1980s and 1990s, for which the in situ database is scarce. Such estimates supplement the SSC temporal series, providing a more comprehensive SSC temporal series which may show environmental dynamics yet unknown. 相似文献

摘 要:MERIS数据以其更为合理的水色波段设置和300m较高的空间分辨率,在内陆湖泊水环境遥感监测中有较大的应用潜力, 对其进行有效的大气校正则是水环境参数定量化反演的前提。以太湖为研究区, 研究基于氧气和水汽吸收波段的暗象元假设, 改进传统的近红外波段暗像元假设的大气校正方法。采用MERIS L2p数据辅助获取湖区气溶胶参数, 并利用2007年11月11日、2008年11月20日以及2009年4月25日三景MERIS影像进行方法验证。结果表明, 该方法能够快速、有效地完成MERIS影像的大气校正, 与地面准同步实测数据相比, 三次校正的RMSP都在25%以下; 与BEAM自带的二类水体大气校正算法、气溶胶厚度辅助的6S大气校正以及改进的暗象元算法进行精度比较, 表明该算法校正精度较高。由于该算法不需要同步实测气溶胶数据, 因此具有一定的适用性。 相似文献

Planetary nebulae are imaged using three different physical processes. The first process is the expansion of the shell, which can be modelled by the canonical laws of motion in the spherical case and by momentum conservation when gradients of density are present in the interstellar medium. The second process is the diffusion of particles that radiate from the advancing layer. Three-dimensional diffusion from a sphere and one-dimensional diffusion with drift are analysed. The third process is the composition of an image through an integral operation along the line of sight. 热带气旋螺旋云带的不对称特征,在热带气旋的路径和强度变化中起着重要作用,对其动力性质的研究是整个热带气旋研究中的重要组成部分.文中分别对一个正压无辐散涡旋模型和正压原始方程涡旋模型进行线性化,采用标准模方法计算扰动的谱点和谱函数,研究扰动在基本流场中的不稳定问题,从而讨论了热带气旋中螺旋云带动力不稳定的性质.将一指定的基流廓线代入这两个模型,均会出现不稳定扰动.前者的流动为涡旋运动,仅在不稳定扰动的两个峰值之间可以看出螺旋状的结构特征,在距涡旋中心140 km的外围,不稳定扰动沿径向没有波动分布,没有螺旋云带状结构.此处相应于涡旋Rossby波的停滞半径(stagnation radius),在此半径之内出现的螺旋结构称为内螺旋云带,而在此半径之外出现的螺旋云带称为外螺旋云带.也就是说前者仅出现了眼壁(最大风速半径之内的最大扰动中心)、内螺旋云带,而后者则出现了眼壁、内螺旋云带和外螺旋云带.这说明滤去重力惯性波的正压无辐散涡旋模型(前者)只适合于解释热带气旋不稳定内螺旋云带的形成和结构,当综合考虑不稳定内、外螺旋云带的形成时,水平辐合、辐散的作用不能忽略,此时必须要用正压涡旋模型(后者).在该模型中因最不稳定扰动随涡旋半径的不同,其分别体现了涡旋Rossby波和重力惯性波的特点,故其是不稳定的涡旋Rossby-重力惯性混合波,其不稳定的性质是非平衡的.由此可知,要同时解释内、外螺旋云带的生成和结构,则非平衡的涡旋Rossby-重力惯性混合波不稳定理论应是更合适的选择. 相似文献

This study consists of a three-dimensional (3D) assessment of the pore network properties (i.e., porosity, pore connectivity, specific surface area) in deformed carbonate grainstones cropping out in Sicily and Abruzzo regions (Italy). Previous studies, including microphotography, mercury injection analysis, and in-situ air permeameter measurements, have reported permeability differences (in the range of two-to-three orders of magnitude) between the carbonate grainstones exposed in Sicily and Abruzzo, that cannot be explained by only considering the differences of porosity. In this study, the pore network properties of suitable rock samples were studied by quantitative analysis of X-ray micro-CT images using both synchrotron and microfocus sources. On the basis of the results, inferences about the control of pore network properties on permeability were made for both host rock and deformation bands. In the host rocks, high values of connectivity seem to be associated with high values of permeability, whereas higher values of the specific surface area seem to correspond to lower permeability. Within the deformation bands (DBs), both porosity and pore connectivity are reduced except for local solution-enlarged stylolites and fractures (slip surfaces) preferentially connected parallel to the DB. 相似文献
