Loess and loess-like deposits were much studied in the Soviet Union, and are currently under investigation in Russia and surrounding countries. There is a vast literature in Russian, which touches on all aspects of loess science and technology. In particular, the studies of the origin of collapsibility are almost totally in Russian, and of course studies on the various regions of Russia and the countries of the Former Soviet Union FSU appear in Russian. This review looks at the literature in Russian and attempts to pick out key contributors, major topics and works and to identify the critical regions and zones of investigation. Because so many regions of the FSU had people living on loess ground, there is a vast literature on engineering geology and ground engineering topics, and this tends to dominate all the literature on loess in Russian. Following Russian practice, the fine-grained deposits under consideration are divided into loess and loess-like deposits. Three main topics are recognised across the whole spectrum of loess research: formation and distribution of loess deposits; stratigraphy, cyclicity and palaeoclimatology; and engineering topics, in particular hydrocollapse and subsidence, and we concentrate on the engineering geology topics. An attempt is made, based on the map of Abelev and Abelev [Abelev, Yu.M., Abelev, M.Yu., 1968. Fundamentals of design and construction on collapsible macroporous soils, 2nd ed. Stroiizdat, Moscow, 431 pp. (in Russian)] of collapsing loess deposits, to define seven loess regions within the geographical limits of the old USSR. The seven regions are those where geotechnical problems might be expected.  相似文献

In this paper, flood problems in India, regional variabilityof the problem, present status of the ongoing management measures, their effectiveness and futureneeds in flood management are covered. Flood problems in India are presented by four zonesof flooding, viz. (a) Brahmaputra River Basin, (b) Ganga River Basin, (c) North-WestRivers Basin, and (d) Central India and Deccan Rivers Basin. Some special problems,related to floods like dam break flow, and water logging in Tal areas, are also mentioned.Progress of various flood management measures, both structural and non-structural, arediscussed. We consider numerical identification of the piecewise constant permeability function in a nonlinear parabolic equation, with the augmented Lagrangian method. By studying this problem, we aim at also gaining some insight into the potential ability of the augmented Lagrangian method to handle permeability estimation within the full two-phase porous-media flow setting. The identification is formulated as a constrained minimization problem. The parameter estimation problem is reduced to a coupled nonlinear algebraic system, which can be solved efficiently with the conjugate gradient method. The methodology is developed and numerical experiments with the proposed method are presented.  相似文献

本文利用JXA-8800M超大型电子探针,以湖南黄金洞金矿含金毒砂为研究对象。利用金特征X-射线扫描方法和微区含金含量,对不可见金赋存状态的研究方法和温试条件进行了探索,先观察背散射电子图像,排除金在含金矿物毒砂中呈显显微颗粒存在的可能性,继而用LiF晶体测定金L=88.76Lal峰位,然后逐渐放大倍数(x300,x1000,x5000,x30000,x200000)进行金特征,X-射线连续测量,,结果发现金元素总 是均匀分布在重砂中,从而证实了金呈品格金形式存在的推测。  相似文献

提出了西藏羌塘地区的六个地质构造问题。包括冈瓦纳与欧亚大陆古特提斯界线;羌塘地区是否存在加里东期或更古老基底;羌塘地区的地层系统及其对比;狮头山、黑熊山一带蓝片岩的地球动力学意义;龙木错─双湖蛇绿岩的性质、成因及年代;羌塘盆地中三叠世以前是一个统一的盆地还是分属两大陆的边缘海盆等。这些问题的解决将有助于更加清楚、完整地认识青藏高原的地质历史过程。  相似文献

The diagenetic mechanism and process of carbonate rocks, which is different to that of clastic rocks, decides the existence of different existing state organic matters in carbonate rocks. This has been verified by both the microscopic observation of organic petrology and the analysis of organic geochemistry of many samples. Based on the hydrous pyrolysis simulation experiment of the low-mature carbonate rocks, the contrasting study on the yield and their geochemistry characteristics of different existing state soluble organic matters of a series of various maturity samples shows that the different existing state organic matters make different contributions to hydrocarbon generation during every evolution state. So that, the hydrocarbon generation process of carbonate rocks can be summarized as the following three stages: the first is the direct degradation of biogenic bitumen macromolecules during the immature stage, the second is the thermal degradation of a large amount of kerogen at the mature stage, the last stage is the expulsion or release of inclusion organic matter owing to the increased thermal expansion pressure during the high evolution stage. By means of barotropic model, the characteristic and initial value problems are investigated to reveal the local two-dimensional barotropic instability of the nonuniform current to the dynamic mechanism of the formation of the Yangtze-Huaihe River severe storm in July 1991. Analytical theory and numerical experiment show that (i) the unstable developing modes are chiefly the two periods of about 44 d and 10 d, which are fundamentally consistent with that of the precipitation change of the Yangtze-Huaihe River. (ii) The growth rate of the local perturbation is dominated by the meridional wave numbern = 1–5 and zonal wave numberk = 1–12, i.e. the severe storm over the Yangtze-Huaihe River results from the interaction of the systems at different latitudes and waves of different scales, (iii) The perturbation over the Yangtze-Huaihe River possesses the property of local intensification, which slowly migrates westward over the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze-Huaihe River. (iv) The growth rate of the instability, especially the propagation velocity of the perturbation, is sensitive to the external parameters ū and α.
