The recently streamlined strength-of-materials approach using cones to calculate vibrations of foundations embedded in layered half-spaces and full-spaces is applied to incompressible and nearly-incompressible soil and to axi-symmetric embedments of arbitrary shape. For incompressible soil the axial-wave velocity in the cones is limited to twice the shear-wave velocity and a trapped mass for the vertical motion and a trapped mass moment of inertia for the rocking motion moving as a rigid body with the under-most disk of an embedded foundation are introduced. In the case of a fully embedded foundation, a mass and a mass moment of inertia are also assigned to the upper-most disk. For an axi-symmetric embedment of arbitrary shape, the disks have varying radii. No modifications to the formulation are, however, required. For these two extensions the strength-of-materials approach using cones leads to the same sufficient engineering accuracy as is achieved in other more conventional cases. This is demonstrated in a vast study. Thus the same other advantages also apply: physical insight with conceptual clarity, simplicity and sufficient generality. 相似文献

This paper outlines a method of analysis of the steady-state dynamic response of a stratified soil to a horizontal time-harmonic loading applied at a circular area. It is assumed the load to be uniformly distributed over the contact area and embedded at an arbitrary depth. It is shown that by means of application of integral Hankel transform, the problem can be reduced to a form of a single integral, which can be taken numerically. Results of the numerical simulations for an embedded horizontal impulse load are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the developed procedure. 相似文献

The Tin Zebane gabbro–anorthosite layered mafic intrusion represented by plagioclase-rich cumulates forms a set of small lenticular to round-shaped mainly undeformed bodies intruding the Pan-African high-pressure metamorphic rocks from western Hoggar (Tuareg shield, southwest Algeria). The coarse-grained anorthosites are mainly made of slightly zoned bytownite (An86–74) with the higher anorthite content at the cores. Anorthosites are interlayered with leucogabbros and gabbros that show preserved magmatic structures and with olivine gabbros characterised by coronitic textures. The primary assemblage in gabbros includes plagioclase (An93–70), olivine (Fo77–70), zoned clinopyroxene (En43–48Fs05–13Wo41–49 with Al2O3 up to 4.3 wt.%) and rare orthopyroxene (En73–78). Pyroxenes and olivine are commonly surrounded by Ca-amphibole. The olivine–plagioclase contact is usually marked by a fine orthopyroxene–Cr-spinel–amphibole symplectite. A magnesian pigeonite (En70–75Fs19–20Wo6–10) is also involved in corona. The coronitic minerals have equilibrated with the primary mineral rims at P–T–aH2O conditions of 797 ± 42 °C for aH2O=0.5 and 808 ± 44 °C for aH2O=0.6 at 6.2 ± 1.4 kbar. The Tin Zebane gabbroic rocks are depleted in REE with a positive Eu anomaly, high Sr (>10 * chondrite) and Al2O3 concentrations (17–33%) that support plagioclase accumulation with the extreme case represented by the anorthosites. The REE patterns can be modelised using plagioclase, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene REE signature, without any role played by accessory minerals. High MgO content points to olivine as a major cumulate phase. Anorthositic gabbros Sr and Nd isotopic initial ratios are typical of a depleted mantle source (Sri=0.70257–0.70278; Nd=+5.9 to +7.8). This isotopic signature is identical to that of the 10-km wide 592 Ma old dyke complex composed of alkaline to peralkaline granites and tholeiitic gabbros and one single bimodal complex can be inferred. The source of the Tin Zebane basic rocks corresponds to the prevalent mantle (PREMA). The Tin Zebane complex was emplaced along the mega-shear zone bounding to the west the Archaean In Ouzzal metacraton. The model proposed suggests a linear lithospheric delamination along this rigid and cold terrane due to post-collisional transtensional movements. This allowed the asthenosphere to rise rapidly and to melt by adiabatic pressure release. Transtension along a rigid body allowed these mantle melts to reach the surface rapidly without any crustal contamination. 相似文献

We report Permian (ca. 272 Ma ±5.4 Ma) felsic dykes that intrude into the Neoproterozoic (ca. 750 Ma) magmatic suite of the Nagar Parkar Igneous Complex (NPIC), the western extension of the Malani Igneous Suite (MIS). The NPIC consists of Neoproterozoic basement amphibolites and granites (riebeckite–aegirine gray granites and the biotite–hornblende pink granites), all of which are intruded by several generations of mafic and felsic dykes. Granitic magmatism occurred in the Late Neoproterozoic (ca. 750 Ma) due to the subduction‐, followed by the rift‐related tectonic regime during the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. U–Th–Pb zircon and monazite CHIME age data of 700–800 Ma from the earlier generation porphyritic felsic dykes suggest the dyke intrusion was coeval or soon after the emplacement of the host granites. Our findings of Permian age orthophyric felsic dykes provide new insights for the prevalence of active tectonics in the MIS during late Paleozoic. Textural features and geochemistry also make the orthophyric dykes distinct from the early‐formed porphyritic dykes and the host granites. Our newly obtained age data combined with geochemistry, suggest the existence of magmatism along the western margin of India (peri‐Gondwana margin) during Permian. Like elsewhere in the region, the Permian magmatism in the NPIC could be associated with the rifting of the Cimmerian micro‐continents from the Gondwana. 相似文献

The giant Central Asian Orogenic Belt is an extensive accretionary orogen, of which the Solonker suture, as a major regional suture, coincides closely with an early Permian paleobiogeographical boundary. This suture is considered to mark the location of the final closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean between the North China Craton and the Mongolian Terrane. Although the closure time of the Paleo-Asian Ocean along the Solonker suture has generally been regarded as Late Permian–Early Triassic, uncertainty remains because of a lack of typical collision-related features (e.g., high-grade regional metamorphism and well-developed fold–thrust structures) and a scarcity of outcrops.The present study reports Early Permian foliated gabbros and dikes (288–275 Ma) and Middle-Late Permian undeformed layered gabbros, strongly peraluminous granites, and I-type granites (265–254 Ma) in the Xinhure area along the northern margin of the North China Craton. The Early Permian foliated intrusions have a subduction-related geochemical signature and were derived from partial melting of lithospheric mantle modified by subduction-related melts or fluids at the active margin of the North China Craton. In contrast, the Late Permian undeformed layered gabbros and strongly peraluminous granites were derived from partial melting of lithospheric mantle and middle–upper crust, respectively, triggered by asthenospheric upwelling. Therefore, a transition from an end-compressional to an extensional environment according to a transition from collision termination to post-collision of the North China Craton and Mongolian Terrane may have occurred between 275 Ma and 262 Ma. This time span can be considered as the final closure time of the Paleo-Asian Ocean along the Solonker suture. 相似文献

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) texture has been demonstrated to have the potential to improve forest biomass estimation using backscatter. However, forests are 3D objects with a vertical structure. The strong penetration of SAR signals means that each pixel contains the contributions of all the scatterers inside the forest canopy, especially for the P-band. Consequently, the traditional texture derived from SAR images is affected by forest vertical heterogeneity, although the influence on texture-based biomass estimation has not yet been explicitly explored. To separate and explore the influence of forest vertical heterogeneity, we introduced the SAR tomography technique into the traditional texture analysis, aiming to explore whether TomoSAR could improve the performance of texture-based aboveground biomass (AGB) estimation and whether texture plus tomographic backscatter could further improve the TomoSAR-based AGB estimation. Based on the P-band TomoSAR dataset from TropiSAR 2009 at two different sites, the results show that ground backscatter variance dominated the texture features of the original SAR image and reduced the biomass estimation accuracy. The texture from upper vegetation layers presented a stronger correlation with forest biomass. Texture successfully improved tomographic backscatter-based biomass estimation, and the texture from upper vegetation layers made AGB models much more transferable between different sites. In addition, the correlation between texture indices varied greatly among different tomographic heights. The texture from the 10 to 30 m layers was able to provide more independent information than the other layers and the original images, which helped to improve the backscatter-based AGB estimation. 相似文献

Merging our data with those of Robins and Chiodoni [Robins, B., Chiodoni, F., 2007. Poles apart: A discussion of the « Geochemistry of cumulates from the Bjerkreim–Sokndal layered intrusion (S. Norway). Part I: Constraints from major elements on the mechanism of cumulate formation and on the jotunite liquid line of descent ». Lithos doi:10.1016/j.lithos.2007.03.007], we examine the major-element compositions of 135 samples of so-called phi-C cumulates of the Bjerkreim–Sokndal layered intrusion. We show the limits of the TiO2/MgO ratio vs. Al2O3 diagram in order to ascertain the proportions of cumulus minerals (ilmenite and orthopyroxene) in the ilmenite leuconorite mafic pole. We also discard anomalous samples as we did in the previous paper. The rest of the samples (124 phi-C, i.e. 92% of the whole population) are then used to confirm the existence of plagioclase and mafic poles. It is shown that the mafic pole is indeed a mixture of ilmenite and orthopyroxene, not induced by “spurious correlation”. 相似文献
