In this paper, the theory and method, obtaining the tomographic determination of three-dimensional velocity structure of the
crust by use of the joint inversion of explosion and earthquake data, are given. The velocity distribution of the crust is
regarded as a continuous function of the spatial coordinates without parametrization of the velocity model ahead, so that
the inversion solution would not be influenced by different parametrization procedures. The expressions of integration kernels,
which relates the two kinds of data sets, are also given. The authors have processed the observed data in Tangshan earthquake
region by the method proposed in this paper, and obtained the tomographic results of the middle and upper crust structures

本文提出一种横向非均匀介质中的地震层析成象方法,由地震走时资料确定介质的速度分布和界面位置。计算中采用了参数分离、变阻尼、奇异值分解等技术,方程的解较稳定,且可得到解的分办。除反射波外,该方法还可同时利用分析波的资料。因此,适宜于折射及宽角度反射地震测深剖面的资料处理。数字试验结果表明,在模型内部,该方法能得到可靠的反演结果。在边界附近效果较差,受初始值影响较大。 相似文献

Abstract Slab detachment is a geophysical instability whose manifestation can be revealed by seismic tomography. Evidence of this phenomenon is in the Dinarides/Hellenic and the New Hebrides subduction zones. Subducted slabs in these regions are torn horizontally at depths ranging from 100 to 300 km. We constructed a viscoelastic three-dimensional finite element model and investigated the state of stress. We found that an area with high stress concentration of the order of several hundred MPa is formed near the tip of the tear inside the slab, which can cause lateral migration of the tear. Favorable conditions for slab detachment are characterized by large interplate frictional force at a subduction zone and small slab resistance force deeper down. Stress concentration increases with the down-dip tension inside the slab. The phenomenon of slab weakening has also been studied from a thermal-mechanical standpoint, using a two-dimensional convection model with non-Newtonian, temperature-dependent rheology. The stress-dependent rheology plays an important role in causing local weakening of the descending slab. In strongly time-dependent situations the fast descending slab is not strong everywhere but has a weak region in the middle, making it vulnerable to slab detachment. The presence of viscous heating will enhance slab detachment tendency by further weakening the interior by the frictional heating. Besides these effects, there are other mechanisms which can also weaken the slab interior and help to make slabs more pliable and susceptible to detachment. 相似文献

Technical difficulties associated with excavation works in tectonized geological settings are frequent. They comprise instantaneous
and/or delayed convergence, sudden collapse of gallery roof and/or walls, outpouring of fault-filling materials and water
inflows. These phenomena have a negative impact on construction sites and their safety. In order to optimize project success,
preliminary studies on the reliability of rock material found on site are needed. This implies in situ investigations (surface
mapping, prospective drilling, waterflow survey, etc.) as well as laboratory investigations on rock samples (permeability
determination, moisture and water content, mineralogy, petrography, geochemistry, mechanical deformation tests, etc.). A set
of multiple parameters are then recorded which permit better insight on site conditions and probable behavior during excavation.
Because rock formations are by nature heterogeneous, many uncertainties remain when extrapolating large-scale behavior of
the rock mass from analyses of samples order of magnitudes smaller. Indirect large-scale field investigations (e.g. geophysical
prospecting) could help to better constrain the relationships between lithologies at depth. At a much smaller scale, indirect
analytical methods are becoming more widely used for material investigations. We discuss in this paper X-ray computed tomography
(XRCT) and neutron tomography (NT), showing promising results for 3D petrographical investigations of the internal structure
of opaque materials. Both techniques record contrasts inside a sample, which can be interpreted and quantified in terms of
heterogeneity. This approach has the advantage of combining genetic parameters (physico-chemical rock composition) with geometric
parameters resulting from alteration or deformation processes (texture and structure). A critical analysis of such 3D analyses
together with the results of mechanical tests could improve predictions of short- and long-term behavior of a rock unit. Indirect
methods have the advantage of being non-destructive. However, as it is the case with large-scale geophysical surveying, XRCT
and NT are affected by several error factors inherent to the interaction of a radiation modality (X-ray or neutron beam) with
the atomic structure of the investigated materials. Recorded signals are therefore in particular cases not artifact-free and
need to be corrected in a subsequent stage of data processing. 相似文献

A geophysical investigation of a landfill area was conducted as inextricable phase of a preliminary geotechnical, geological
and hydrogeological study of the area under investigation. Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), one of the most promising
prospecting techniques mainly concerning its effective contribution to resolve several environmental problems, was applied
for the geophysical modeling. ERT is a robust imaging method the theory and implementation of which are well documented in
geophysical research literature. The survey site is located in Akrotirion Peninsula, about 7 km east of Chania city in Crete
I. The geological setting comprises Trypalion limestones, marly limestones and a clayed weathered layer. Cavities are also
identified at various scales which are recent tectono-karstic voids. Due to the above-mentioned geological singularity and
in the light of the requirement for an environmentally safe construction of the landfill, an ERT survey was carried out. Specifically,
seven geoelectrical tomographies were conducted reaching the prospecting depth of 36 m. The resulted images conduced, to overcome
geotechnical problems since the spatial distribution of karstic voids was determined, to plan the future sites for waste disposal
as the geological conditions were studied in detail and to reliably estimate the thickness of the already deposited wastes.
The resulted images were confirmed using available borehole logs and ambient noise measurements. 相似文献
