通过巴里坤湖钻孔岩芯沉积相分析、年代学测定、粒度分析、碳酸盐及其稳定同位素测定、孢粉分析等综合研究,建立了巴里坤湖沉积岩芯剖面十五万年来的时间序列、湖水位变化的古水文演化序列,分辨出十五万年来经历的高湖面阶段和低湖面阶段。低湖面阶段对应于冰期阶段,在冰期时,降水主要积累于山地,进入湖泊的水量较少,湖水位降低;高湖面阶段对应于间冰期的到来,山地冰川融化,湖水位迅速上升,但很快达到新的平衡,水位保持稳定。  相似文献

结合新近获得的高精度遥感影像和详细的野外调查,首次对青藏高原内部大型单个湖泊古湖滨线进行了系统的调查测量。综合色林错周边古湖滨线的地貌、沉积及地形特征,本文首次提出色林错周边区域古湖滨线从地貌上可以分为3类: 1)处于高位,保存完好且非常连续的单级"高位古湖滨线"; 2)高于高位古湖滨线、严重退化、只有零散保存的多级"退化古湖滨线"; 3)低于高位古湖滨线、保存最好而非常连续的"低位古湖滨线"。野外系统测量表明,高位古湖滨线高程约4 593 m,最高退化古湖滨线高程为4 640 m。高位古湖滨线一致的高程分布表明: 1)晚更新世高位古湖滨线形成时期存在一个更大的色林错古湖; 2)自晚更新世以来,在色林错周边200 km范围内,不存在构造差异抬升。结合前人对西藏内部大型湖泊古湖滨线的年代学研究及本文的高程测量分析,指出关于晚更新世西藏中东部统一的古大湖--"古羌塘东湖"的提法值得商榷,晚更新世高原内部各大型湖泊更可能是通过河道串联。  相似文献

Glen Roy is a classic geosite for ice-dammed lake shorelines, the Parallel Roads, and associated features formed during the Loch Lomond (Younger Dryas) Stade (12.9–11.7 ka). The area played a key part in the development of the glacial theory in the early 19th century and continues today to have outstanding scientific value for understanding the processes and timing of events at the end of the last glaciation. Glen Roy has also been long-appreciated as an awe-inspiring visitor attraction, and is now a flagship site for geotourism within Lochaber Geopark. Statutory geoconservation in Glen Roy, beginning in the second half of the 20th century, was founded on the exceptional scientific value of the area. The history and practice of geoconservation in Glen Roy illustrate the contested values of geoheritage and the evolving approaches adopted. Important lessons include the need for open dialogue and partnership working among the local community, land owners and managers, the statutory conservation agency (Scottish Natural Heritage), Lochaber Geopark and the scientific community.  相似文献

青藏高原腹地中新世早期古大湖的特征及其构造意义   总被引:26,自引:2,他引:26  
青藏高原腹地五道梁群及相当层位的沉积地层呈缓倾斜或近水平产状,广泛分布于渐新世夷平面之上,厚度300~350m,富含白云质灰岩和泥灰岩,指示了中新世早期长期稳定的古湖泊沉积环境.根据五道梁群湖相沉积的分布范围,认为中新世早期在唐古拉山和昆仑山之间发育五道梁、北麓河、沱沱河、通天河和东温泉等面积5000~15000 km2的古湖盆,在唐古拉山与冈底斯-念青唐古拉山之间发育安多、那曲、罗马、班戈、伦坡拉和双湖等面积1500~2000km2的古湖盆.根据ETM遥感和野外观测资料,发现中新世早期主要湖盆之间存在古湖水相互连接的通道,形成规模更大的巨型古湖,包括唐古拉山北侧面积超过10×104km2的青西古大湖和唐古拉山南侧面积超过5×104km2的藏北古大湖.青藏高原腹地中新世早期古大湖的发育时代为23.5~16.0 Ma.  相似文献

The Hanaupah-Fan Shoreline Deposit (HSD) is an as yet undescribed occurrence of shoreline sediments of late Pleistocene Lake Manly in Death Valley, California. It is located in the southern part of Death Valley, at the northeastern periphery of Hanaupah Fan. The HSD is a gently sloping, WSW-ENE elongated ridge, about 600 m long, 165 m wide and 8 m high. Its surface extends from -12 to +28 m in elevation, i.e. it has a vertical range of 40 m. We interpret the deposit as a sediment body that extended from the Hanaupah Fan east into the lake. Rising lake level, and waves approaching both from the north and south eroded fan materials, and produced a sediment body with a complex architecture. Fetch for waves approaching from either direction was about 40 km. The sedimentary inventory consists of cross-stratified gravel beds of various size ranges, dipping towards the north, south, and east, and of horizontal berm gravel beds, and horizontal silt layers. A discordant gravel layer covers the entire surface of the deposit, probably produced by wave action during the last phase of lake regression. This uniform gravel layer forms a surface that is distinctly different from the surrounding fan surfaces. It is relatively fine grained, much better sorted, and densely packed. Rock varnish is very well developed, and imparts a dark color to the surface, which makes it easily recognizable on aerial photographs. No absolute age date is available as yet, but circumstantial evidence places the formation of the deposit at the peak of marine isotope stage 2 (Wisconsinan/Weichsellian glacial maximum)  相似文献

A 44 m-thick lacustrine succession of silty-clay banded ochres and subordinated sandstones, and conglomerates (known as the Corral Amarillo Formation) is superbly exposed within the Famatina Belt (Central Andes of Argentina) after deep entrenchment by the present-day Amarillo river due to strong recent uplifting and consequent relative drop in base level. The unusual ochreous-rich succession was produced by natural damming (3.48–3.54 14C kyr BP) of an acid drainage system linked to the alteration cap of polymetallic deposits. Facies of silty-clay ochre (wet season) and banded ochre (dry season) from the paleolacustrine setting are composed of jarosite + goethite and goethite respectively. Geochemically, these layers record high concentrations of Fe2O3 (25–55 wt. %) and trace elements (Cu, Zn, Co, As, and Mo with mean concentrations of 2759; 2467; 109; 375 and 116 ppm, respectively). Their origin is inferred from a comparative analysis with the present-day Amarillo river, which has a pH of ∼3, (SO4)2− concentrations of ∼5000 mg/l, and jarosite as the dominant phase, in the upper catchments. Waters downstream have pH values of 3–4.5, (SO4)2− concentrations of ∼3000–480 mg/l, and schwertmannite as the dominant phase. Thus goethite in the paleolake facies is likely related to schwertmannite transformation by an aging process, whereas jarosite is probably transported from the river but could also be associated with post-depositional formation regulated by variations in grain size and the pore fluid chemistry. The Corral Amarillo Formation offers a Natural model, which may be employed to infer the effect on nature of acid drainage of mineralized areas.  相似文献

Lakes on Mars were formed under periglacial to glacial climates. Extreme conditions prevailed including freezing temperatures, low atmospheric pressure, high evaporation/sublimation rates, and liquid water reservoirs locked in aquifers below a thick cryosphere. Although many of the Martian paleolakes display evidence of a short period of activity consistent with these conditions, others display clear evidence of lifetimes ranging from 104 to 105 years. The discovery of young seeping processes in impact craters and pole-facing valley slopes along with young volcanic activity raise questions about the conditions and limitations of liquid water flow and potential lacustrine activity today on Mars. Current climate models show that in today's conditions there exist regions on Mars of sols above the triple point and below boiling point of water that could provide hydrogeological conditions comparable to these of the Antarctic Dry Valley lakes (with the exception of the atmosphere pressure). The locations of the most recent Martian paleolakes are correlated with these regions. Throughout the history of Mars, lakes generated diversified environments, which could have provided potential habitats for life. The recent discovery of young energy sources from volcanism and the potential for liquid water reinforces the possibility of extant life on Mars, and suggests recent ponds and ancient paleolakes as primary targets for rover and sample return missions.  相似文献

This paper presents a major revision of the Late Devensian Lateglacial environmental history of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, based upon a combination of geomorphological, biostratigraphical and radiocarbon evidence. The distribution of glacial and periglacial landforms, and of raised shorelines, suggests that there was only one extensive readvance of local glaciers in southern Skye following the wastage of the Late Devensian ice sheet. Pollen-stratigraphic evidence from 10 sites inside and 4 sites outside the mapped ice limits indicates that this readvance occurred during the Loch Lomond Stadial. At that time over 180km2 of the uplands of south-central Skye were covered by glacier ice, a much more extensive glaciation than previously envisaged. Palynological evidence from four Lateglacial profiles implies that degree of exposure to strong westerly winds was the principal factor determing vegetational contrasts on the island, and that regional differences in vegetational type were less pronounced than has hitherto been suggested. The glacial and palaeobotanical reconstructions reported here are more compatible with Lateglacial data from the Scottish mainland and Hebridean islands than were the previously-published accounts for the Isle of Skye.  相似文献

The prevailing view suggests that the Eemian interglacial on the European Plain was characterized by largely negligible geomorphic activity beyond the coastal areas. However, systematic geomorphological studies are sparse. Here we present a detailed reconstruction of Eemian to Early Weichselian landscape evolution in the vicinity of a small fingerlake on the northern margin of the Salzwedel Palaeolake in Lower Saxony (Germany). We apply a combination of seismics, sediment coring, pollen analysis and luminescence dating on a complex sequence of colluvial, paludal and lacustrine sediments. Results suggest two pronounced phases of geomorphic activity, directly before the onset and at the end of the Eemian period, with an intermediate period of pronounced landscape stability. The dynamic phases were largely driven by incomplete vegetation cover, but likely accentuated by fluvial incision in the neighbouring Elbe Valley. Furthermore, we discovered Neanderthal occupation at the lakeshore during Eemian pollen zone (PZ) E IV, which is chronologically in line with other known Eemian sites of central Europe. Our highly-resolved spatio-temporal data substantially contribute to the understanding of climate-induced geomorphic processes throughout and directly after the last interglacial period. It helps unraveling the landscape dynamics between the coastal areas to the north and the loess belt to the south.  相似文献
