The evolution of the current sheet in the electric current direction (in the guiding magnetic field direction) is studied numerically in the 3-D particle-in-cell model with two current sheets and periodic boundary conditions. In the regime with (where v D and are the electric current drift and electron thermal velocities, respectively) the current sheets are unstable owing to the Buneman and kink instabilities and become strongly fragmented. During their evolution, in addition to an increase of the energy of the electric field component in the guiding magnetic field direction, the energies of the electric field components in the perpendicular direction are even more enhanced. In the current sheet the anomalous resistivity (η anom/η C∼7×105, where η C is the classical resistivity) is generated and thus the magnetic field dissipates. Most of the dissipated magnetic energy is transformed into the electron kinetic energy in the direction of the electric current. The associated electric field accelerates the electrons from the tail of the distribution function.  相似文献

Fiber reinforced soil behaves as a composite material in which fibers of relatively high tensile strength are embedded in a matrix of soil. Shear stresses in the soil mobilize tensile resistance in the fibers, which in turn imparts greater strength to the soil. In this paper a study on the influence of synthetic fibrous materials in improving the dynamic response characteristics of fine sandy soil is reported. The project aims at converting fibrous carpet waste into a value-added product for soil reinforcement. A series of five shaking table tests using rigid box were carried out on Toyoura sand specimens reinforced with randomly distributed geotextile strips. The dynamic deformation characteristics of the reinforced sand are defined in terms of wall lateral deformation and rotation. The results clearly indicate the effectiveness of fiber reinforcement in improving dynamic properties of fine sand and deformation characteristics of fiber reinforced sheet pile retaining wall during shaking.  相似文献

Liquefaction exclusion criteria, based on peak ground acceleration (PGA) threshold value, are often included in seismic codes and recommendations. In this note, a rationale approach for setting the threshold is presented and a PGA limit of 0.09 g was found. This value is derived from a statistical analysis of the background data used to create some common verification charts for the liquefaction problem.  相似文献

采用振动台物理模拟试验方法,以4种不同覆土厚度的层状边坡模型为研究对象,水平输入振幅逐渐增大的正弦波加速度,分析了结构面上覆不同厚度土层对动力作用下边坡的稳定影响.研究了在动力作用下边坡的破坏位置和性质、破坏形式及最危险覆土厚度,验证了坡面放大效应与高程的关系,采用MIDAS/GTS软件对模型试验进行振型分析,分析了模型边坡的自振频率与覆土厚度的变化关系.试验结果表明:①模型破坏时最先出现的裂缝在边坡的中上部,且6 cm覆土厚度的模型对振动的响应最大,对应到实际工程中时12m厚度土层覆盖的边坡是最应该注意防护的.②不同厚度的土层破坏的形式不同:当土层厚度较薄时模型破坏较迅速,基本沿结构面发生整体滑动破坏,且滑动呈现一定的流体特性;当覆土较厚时裂缝先在模型中上部出现,随着振动的持续裂缝继续发展,最后发生整体性崩塌.③随着高程的增加峰值加速度总体呈放大趋势,但最大值出现在边坡中上部而非坡顶,说明不仅均质边坡有加速度的高程放大效应,层状边坡也具有加速度的高程放大效应.  相似文献

2011年1月1日新疆乌恰县西南发生MS 5.1地震,新疆强震动台网布设在震中附近的10个强震动固定台获取了这次地震完整的加速度记录,记录的最大加速度为80.08 cm.s-2。对10个强震动台的加速度记录进行了常规数据处理,计算了地震烈度,并将计算的仪器烈度与现场地震宏观考察烈度进行了比较,有较好的一致性。  相似文献

Assessment of liquefaction potential based on peak ground motion parameters   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Conventionally, evaluation of liquefaction potential of loose saturated cohesionless deposits as specified in Japanese design codes employs peak ground acceleration (PGA). However, recent large-scale earthquakes in Japan revealed that liquefaction at some sites did not occur even though large PGAs were recorded at or near these sites. As an alternative approach, an evaluation procedure based on peak ground motion parameters, i.e. incorporating both PGA and the peak ground velocity (PGV), is proposed. By performing parametric studies using one-dimensional seismic response analysis and formulating regression models, seismic-induced shear stresses within the deposit are expressed in terms of peak ground motion parameters at the surface, and these are used to calculate the factor of safety against liquefaction. Application to case histories in Japan indicates that the proposed two-parameter equation can adequately account for the occurrence and non-occurrence of liquefaction at various sites as compared to the conventional PGA-based approach. Moreover, analyses of several strong motion records at various sites show that liquefaction may occur when PGA≥150 gal and PGV≥20 kine, indicating that these values can serve as thresholds in assessing the possible occurrence of liquefaction.  相似文献

A new engineering source model consistent with seismological concepts for simulating strong-motion accelerograms (SMAs) is presented in this paper. The source region is modeled as a horizontally layered elastic medium to cater for site dependency. The moment field acting on the rupture plane is decomposed into space and time functions, which is a novel concept. The spatial and temporal components are determined for six well-recorded earthquakes using the corresponding recorded SMA. The obtained spatial variations indicate that they can be modeled as an anisotropic random field. The temporal components of all the six events are transients, with typical frequency spectra. Based on these results, a simplified source model is proposed for the synthesis of SMA during strong earthquakes. The model is validated by simulating strong-motion acceleration time histories at stations deliberately kept out of the modeling exercise. It is found that the present model is efficient in simulating observed time histories. The proposed model is also illustrated by simulating an ensemble of acceleration time histories for the Kutch earthquake of 26th January 2001 using only the few known source parameters.  相似文献

水口水电站重力坝强震反应台阵在古田ML4.1、ML4.6地震中获得了强震资料,通过对观测资料初步分析,得到以下认识:如果仅用基岩自由场顺河向振动的峰值加速度进行估算.该大坝遭受的地震强度达到Ⅵ度。这与通过现场灾害评估得出大坝位于V度区外的结论相悖:坝底和基岩自由场竖直向和顺河向振动情况一致,但幅度存在差异;对于坝体的峰值加速度,相比较于坝底,坝中部三方向均有不同程度的放大,坝顶三方向均有不同程度的缩小:从坝底至坝顶。峰值加速度出现滞后现象,但并不明显,说明坝体刚性较大。此次地震中坝体主要呈整体振动特性。  相似文献
