Although seismic isolation rubber bearings in bridges and buildings have proven to be a very effective passive method for reducing earthquake‐induced forces, a detailed mechanical modeling of the rubber that is used in bearings under large strains has not been established. Therefore, a 3D model of failure behavior and the design criteria for the safety evaluation of seismic isolation bearings have not yet been developed. This paper presents: (1) correlation‐based template‐matching algorithms to measure large strain fields of continua; (2) a failure criterion for rubber; and (3) the design criteria for the safety evaluation of laminated algorithms, data‐validation algorithms were developed and implemented to eliminate possible unrealistic displacement vectors present in the measured displacement field. The algorithms were successfully employed in the strain field measurement of LRB and rubber materials that are subjected to failure. The measured local strains for rubber material at failure were used to develop a failure criterion for rubber. The validity of the proposed criterion was evaluated by applying it to the LRB; the criterion was introduced into a 3D finite element model of LRB, compared with the experimental results of bearings failure, and verified. 深圳富水软弱地层地铁隧道开挖中出现的工作面失稳及由此引起的地表塌陷是地铁安全施工中极其重要的方面,对施工安全、进度都有较大影响,同时也对整个工程造成巨大的经济损失。通过对深圳地铁Ⅰ期工程土建施工中全线部分暗挖标段出现的工作面失稳、地表塌陷工程实践和现场监测结果分析,特别着重对连续2次出现地表塌陷的3A标暗挖隧道研究,从隧道上覆地层物理力学性质参数、地层变形监测分析及施工工艺原因3方面阐述了地表塌陷的原因。明确提出剪切破坏线和失水空洞区的概念,确定出引发地表塌陷的主导因素为施工工艺原因。建议针对该类地层条件,应做好超前地质预报.适当调整预加固参数.加强隧道结构和地表的动态变形监测,施工技术人员做到准确了解施工现场动态,及时调整施工工艺参数,以保证隧道的安全施工。分析结果对深圳地铁Ⅱ期工程施工及类似地层条件地下工程施工提供科学预测、预防地表塌陷的方法和技术措施,达到地铁隧道施工中经济效益与安全施工的统一。 相似文献

The concept of the equivalent free surface has been extended to determine the seismic horizontal pullout capacity of shallow
vertical strip plate anchors buried in sand. The analysis has been done rigorously by using the method of stress characteristics.
The results have been expressed in the form of non-dimensional charts. The pullout resistance has been found to reduce quite
extensively with increase in the magnitude of horizontal earthquake acceleration. The results were compared with the previously
published data, and it was seen that the computed pullout resistance with the proposed method was found to be lowest.

We perform a global statistical investigation into the problem of Coulomb stress triggering of earthquakes by using the Harvard CMT catalogue of shallow earthquakes from 1976 to 2001. We consider ‘earthquake pairs’, i.e., pairs of successive earthquakes occurring near each other with similar focal mechanisms, and address the problem of whether or not the change of the Coulomb failure stress (CFS) produced by the first earthquake of the pair ‘encourages’ the occurrence of the second one. An interesting feature is that such a Coulomb stress-triggering phenomenon has an apparent focal mechanism dependence: for thrust earthquakes, a more evident triggering effect can be observed. 相似文献

An empirical procedure for estimating the severity of liquefaction-induced ground damage at or near foundations of existing buildings is established. The procedure is based on an examination of 30 case histories from recent earthquakes. The data for these case histories consist of observations of the damage that resulted from liquefaction, and the subsurface soil conditions as revealed by cone penetration tests. These field observations are used to classify these cases into one of three damaging effect categories, ‘no damage’, ‘minor to moderate damage’, and ‘major damage’. The potential for liquefaction-induced ground failure at each site is calculated and expressed as the probability of ground failure. The relationship between the probability of ground failure and the damage class is established, which allows for the evaluation of the severity of liquefaction-induced ground damage at or near foundations. The procedure presented herein represents a significant attempt to address the issue of liquefaction effect. Caution must be exercised, however, when using the proposed model and procedure for estimating liquefaction damage severity, because they are developed based on limited number of case histories. 相似文献

This paper deals with an analysis method for the response and motion of soil-like rigid-plastic bodies under seismic loading conditions. A continuity condition to determine the acceleration distribution within the rigid-plastic body when the failure occurs during seismic motions is proposed. Combining this continuity condition of acceleration and the ‘Generalized Limit Equilibrium Method (GLEM)’, the responses of the earth structure during seismic motions as well as the permanent displacements can be obtained, where GLEM is one of the limit equilibrium methods proposed by the authors for static problems and providing the approximate solution for Kötter's equation. The theoretical formulation of the method, the illustrative examples, and some comparisons between the analytical and experimental results are demonstrated. 相似文献
