We deployed two profiling floats in the region south of the Kuroshio Extension in March 2000. Temperature and salinity profiles from a depth of 1500 × 104 Pa to the surface are reported every two and four weeks, respectively. The floats performed very well for first four months after deployment. Later they failed in surfacing for a few months when the sea surface temperature in the region was high. The salinity sensors seemed to suffer from some damage during their failure-in-surfacing period. Despite this trouble, the results clearly demonstrate that the profiling float is a very useful and cost-effective tool for physical oceanographic observation in the open sea. Horizontal wind measured by wind profiling radar (WPR) is based on uniform wind assumption in volume of lateral beam. However, this assumption cannot completely meet in the real atmosphere. The subject of this work is to analyze the influence of atmospheric inhomogeneities for wind measurement. Five-beam WPR can measure two groups of horizontal wind components U and V independently, using the difference of horizontal wind components U and V can evaluate the influence of the inhomogeneity of the atmospheric motion on wind measurement. The influences can be divided into both inhomogeneous distribution of horizontal motion and vertical motion. Based on wind measurements and meteorological background information, a new means of coordinate rotation the two kinds of inhomogeneous factor was separated, and the impact in different weather background was discussed. From analysis of the wind measured by type of PB-II WPR (445MHz) during 2012 at Yanqing of Beijing, it is shown that the inhomogeneity of horizontal motion is nearly the same in U and V direction. Both the inhomogeneities of horizontal motion and vertical motion have influence on wind measurement, and the degrees of both influences are associated with changes of wind speed. In clear air, inhomogeneity of horizontal motion is the main influence on wind measurement because of small vertical velocity. In precipitation, the two influences are larger than that in clear air.  相似文献

Profiling of ponds and bogs using ground-penetrating radar   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is an electromagnetic technique that has shown particular promise in profiling bogs and freshwater ponds. GPR systems operate in a manner similar to sonar (acoustic) methods, and can complement or be used in place of sonar. GPR pulses can penetrate through shallow fresh water and into bottom sediments, providing detailed information about sediment stratigraphy, obstructions, and depth to bedrock. Peat thickness in bogs can also be readily obtained using a GPR survey. The ability to accurately determine depths in ponds, lakes, and bogs prior to coring is extremely useful for investigations in palynology. By allowing one to see into and obtain configuration and thickness of bottom sediments, GPR surveys permit placement of a core where it will yield optimum information. Where bog or water surfaces are frozen, GPR scans can be run directly over the ice.This is the 2nd in a series of papers published in this special AMQUA issue. These papers were presented at the 1994 meeting of the American Quaternary Association held 19–22 June, 1994, at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Dr Linda C. K. 作者应用联合剖面、电测深和静电α卡测量等综合物探方法在青岛地区进行地下水源勘查。本文列举了三个不同地质条件地下水源点的探测过程,说明青岛地区地下水源开发利用是有前景的。指出对当地水文地质资料进行深入研究,采用综合物探方法与地质钻探相配合是勘测地下水源行之有效的一套工作方法。此外对物探工作方法技术的合理选择进行了论述。物探资料的推断解释已通过钻探结果所验证。  相似文献

重新处理和解释叶县—南漳反射地震剖面,并综合利用油气勘探地震剖面,地震层析、大地电磁测深、地热流、气体测量等地球物理和地球化学数据,得到秦岭造山带岩石圈构造模型。识别出秦岭地壳不同时代的重要构造:(1)加里东期华北克拉通向秦岭微板块的俯冲,并造成中上地壳内华北地壳和北秦岭地壳形成锯齿状楔入构造。(2)印支—燕山期扬子克拉通与秦岭微陆块的对冲走滑软碰撞,形成了以南阳地区为中心由一系列规模宏大的逆冲断层组成的负花状构造。(3)白垩纪后,由正副片麻岩交互成层的结晶基底形成的穹隆。(4)盖在结晶基底上的近透明浅变质元古宙地层形成的褶皱基底。白垩纪后,秦岭地区和中国东部其他地区一样,岩石圈地幔遭受到软流圈上升形成蘑菇云构造,岩石圈活化,严重影响构造演化过程。  相似文献

从走滑断层难以探测的实际出发,讨论了其物性特征;通过对低阻板模型的物理模拟、数值模拟以及对实地观测资料的分析,研究了对称四极纵、横向剖面法视电阻率曲线的变化特征和差异. 结果表明,横向剖面法相对纵向剖面法异常幅度明显增加,可对地震活动断层进行更为有效的探测和定位. 这一研究为走滑断层探测提供了新的思路. 同时,利用对称四极横向剖面法可以解决走滑断层难以探测这一技术难题.   相似文献

We report results from the Seismic Wide-Angle and Broadband Survey carried out over the Mid North Sea High. This paper focuses on integrating the information from a conventional deep multichannel reflection profile and a coincident wide-angle profile obtained by recording the same shots on a set of ocean bottom hydrophones (OBH). To achieve this integration, a new traveltime inversion scheme was developed (reported elsewhere) that was used to invert traveltime information from both the wide-angle OBH records and the reflection profile simultaneously. Results from the inversion were evaluated by producing synthetic seismograms from the final inversion model and comparing them with the observed wide-angle data, and an excellent match was obtained. It was possible to fine-tune velocities in less well-resolved parts of the model by considering the critical distance for the Moho reflection. The seismic velocity model was checked for compatibility with the gravity field, and used to migrate and depth-convert the reflection profile. The unreflective upper crust is characterized by a high velocity gradient, whilst the highly reflective lower crust is associated with a low velocity gradient. At the base of the crust there are several subhorizontal reflectors, a few kilometres apart in depth, and correlatable laterally for several tens of kilometres. These reflectors are interpreted as representing a strike section through northward-dipping reflectors at the base of the crust, identified on orthogonal profiles by Freeman et al. (1988) as being slivers of subducted and imbricated oceanic crust, relics of the mid-Palaeozoic Iapetus Ocean.  相似文献

在青藏高原等地区为研究下地壳上地幔的构造特征,最近10a投入了较大工作量的天然地震探测。它可以获得较大深度上的地震速度图像、上地幔的各向异性,划分出低速体低速层,为研究地球动力学特征提供了新的资料。随着仪器的发展完善,这种方法在我国深部研究中成为重要而且经济的手段。地震层析、接收函数的研究、以及剪切波分裂的分析都取得了很大的成绩。在这些方面还有许多工作要深入研究,继续深入发展具有重要意义。  相似文献
