We investigate whether models based on the assumption that jets in quasars are powered by rotating black holes can explain the observed radio dichotomy of quasars. We show that in terms of the 'spin paradigm' models, radio-loud quasars could be objects in which the rotation rate of the black hole corresponds to an equilibrium between spin-up by accretion and spin-down by the Blandford–Znajek mechanism. Radio-quiet quasars could be hosting black holes with an average spin much smaller than the equilibrium one. We discuss possible accretion scenarios which can lead to such a bimodal distribution of black hole spins. 相似文献

We have conducted observations with the aid of a seismo-tiltmeter station, which is based on the Ostrovsky pendulum and installed at the Geodynamic Observatory Cueva de los Verdes at Lanzarote Island since 1995. In this station the signal is separated into two frequency bands – tidal tilts (from 0 to 5 mHz) and ground oscillations in the frequency range of free Earths normal modes (from 0.2 to 5 mHz). The later band, called accelerometer channel, has additional amplification. We analyzed the background records in the frequency range of Earths free oscillations from August 2000 to September 2001, as well as, Earths normal modes after strong earthquakes. We found several distinctive persistent peaks in the spectra of background oscillations. Both amplitudes of distinguished peaks and noises have seasonal variations. We found that spectra of background oscillations are different in the frequency interval between 1.4 and 2.5 mHz for North- South and East-West components. 相似文献

在实验室条件下研究条纹锯鮨(Centropristis striata)在9,13,17,21℃条件下的摄食生长和能量收支。结果表明,9℃时鱼体表现为负增长,生长能为-1 124.1 kJ±20.8 kJ,13℃时鱼体生长能为510.3 kJ±8.1 kJ,在实验温度的范围内,随着温度的升高,生长逐渐加快,21℃仍为生长的适宜温度。条纹锯鮨生长的补偿温度在9~13℃之间。生长能和呼吸能的变化主导实验鱼的能量收支模式。温度对鱼体的蛋白质质量分数影响显著(P<0.05),脂肪的质量分数在9℃时最高,13℃时最低,然后随着温度升高而逐渐加大,水分和灰分的质量分数随温度的变化没有呈现出明显的规律。 相似文献

Twelve washover deposits were cored on the west-central Gulf Coast of Florida to provide data to permit development of a model to help identify washover facies in the stratigraphic record. Typical modern washover stratigraphy displays landward-dipping plane beds comprised of well-sorted sand with distinct laminae of shells and heavy minerals. Five subfacies are delineated which show variations in composition, texture, and bioturbation throughout the washover facies. These subfacies represent differences in flow conditions during overwash, position relative to sea level, and variable degrees of reworking after deposition. Three shell assemblages aid in identification of washover deposits. Backbarrier sediments composed of shoreface/open water species or mixed shoreface/backbarrier species may potentially be washover in origin. Sediments with purely backbarrier/quiet water shell species are likely to have been deposited independently of washover activity. Examination of washover deposits of differing ages reveals that preservation of washover stratigraphy is not exclusively a function of time. Reworking of small-scale stratification can occur in as short as a decade; however, this same stratification was found to be preserved in deposits several hundred years old. Destruction of original washover signatures is related to the position of the deposits relative to sea level, and the rate and depth of burial. Even after the destruction of small-scale stratigraphic features, washover deposits may still be identified as such due to their texture, composition, and shell assemblages. Key features in recognizing the facies after bioturbation and reworking are: (1) the presence of clean sand in otherwise muddy backbarrier sediments, (2) the landward thinning of the facies, and (3) the presence of shoreface shells or mixed shoreface/backbarrier shells on landward portions of the barrier island system. If reworking is severe and/or there are limited subsurface data, distinguishing washovers from genetically similar deposits (e.g. flood tidal deltas and spillover deposits) in the stratigraphic record is difficult and when considered out of stratigraphic context may not be recognizable. 相似文献

讨论了建立全球统一高程系统的若干基本问题,包括正常高的几何定义和重力定义,区域水准测量高程系统的全球统一问题以及大地水准面位W_0的确定。结果表明:(1)几何水准高程和重力定义的正常高存在差别,由GNSS/重力得到的正常高并不等于几何水准给出的正常高,而要加上一与高程有关的改正项,并且在山区这一改正不可忽略;(2)由GNSS/重力/区域几何水准融合可以给出一个相对的全球统一高程系统,而要得到绝对的统一系统,还须知道大地水准面的位W_0;(3)现代大地测量技术可以以一定精度求出W_0,但它是时变的,因此只能定义出某个历元的全球绝对统一高程系统。 相似文献

针对目前机载LiDAR点云数据存在的数据组织效率低下以及不利于查询等问题,本文提出了一种基于体元的建筑物提取算法。首先,构建体元模型实现机载LiDAR数据的真三维描述;然后,计算局部邻域曲面拟合残差,将残差最小的体元视作种子体元;最后,根据局部邻域法向量夹角准则来实现种子体元的区域增长,从而获得建筑物点。本文选取ISPRS公开的点云滤波测试数据中的8种复杂场景进行实验,实验结果表明:本文算法不仅原理简单、容易实现,而且具有较好的鲁棒性,不会受地形以及建筑物类型和尺寸的限制,Kappa系数达到80%以上,实现了复杂场景下建筑物的提取。 相似文献
