西江和北江及珠江三角洲西北部汇流区广泛发育全新世的泥炭-淤泥腐木地层,结合剖面的沉积相特征和14C测年数据,对全新世沉积环境和含腐木地层的分布和环境变化进行探讨,获得以下认识:1)在西江和北江下游海侵北界以上的陆相沉积序列中,厚层泥炭主要形成于中晚全新世(7.5―1.5 cal. ka B.P.),集中堆积时间为5.0―1.5 cal. ka B.P.;2)珠江三角洲全新世海侵对三角洲边缘区陆相泥炭沼泽的形成起决定性作用,早全新世(约9―7 cal. ka B.P.)三角洲西北端的高速率河口相粉砂黏土沉积为后来的半咸水沼泽发育奠定了淤泥深厚的物质基础,而西江―北江下游陆相洪冲积或河漫滩沉积则在8 cal. ka B.P.左右开始发育,也为之后的水松泥炭沼泽繁盛奠定了基础;3)三水西南一带是中全新世西江―北江下游泛滥平原至古河口湾的过渡区,潮汐流与河流的双重作用是造成三角洲边缘区大面积泥炭沼泽湿地形成的主要原因;4)泥炭湿地生态环境大多在2.0―1.5 cal. ka B.P.前后在西江和北江被高位洪水平流沉积物埋藏,而在三角洲区域多被泛滥平原洪积物覆盖。多数剖面泥炭腐木迁移的原因与三角洲的快速加积作用导致的潮流与河流空间位置平衡被破坏和水文条件改变有关,晚全新世不断增强的人类农业活动和森林破坏与水土流失也是导致三角洲天然沼泽湿地消失的重要原因。  相似文献

通过对比白令海BR07孔与B5-4孔硅藻百分含量、颜色反射率等参数结果,综合建立了BR07孔年龄框架。根据该重建年龄结果,BR07孔年龄约为11.3~1.9 ka,平均沉积速率约为28.5 cm/ka,略低于B5-4孔。基于圆柱拟脆杆藻与塞米新细齿藻比值Fragilariopsis cylindrus含量/(Fragilariopsis cylindrus含量+Neodenticula seminae含量)重建的近万年来白令海海冰变化历史,记录到该区域末次冰消期以来包括新仙女木事件在内的3次冷事件以及1次暖事件,其中新仙女木事件约发生于距今11.3~10.7 ka,与格陵兰冰心记录对应值距今12.9~11.6 ka基本相近,这进一步佐证了该重建年龄比原始的全样有机碳AMS 14C测年结果更可信。  相似文献

Anastomosing rivers, systems of multiple interconnected channels that enclose floodbasins, constitute a major category of rivers for which various sedimentary facies models have been developed. While the sedimentary products of anastomosing rivers are relatively well‐known, their genesis is still debated. A rapidly growing number of ancient alluvial successions being interpreted as of anastomosing river origin, including important hydrocarbon reservoirs, urge the development of robust models for the genesis of anastomosis, to facilitate better interpretation of ancient depositional settings and controls. The upper Columbia River, British Columbia, Canada, is the most‐studied anastomosing river and has played a key role in the development of an anastomosing river facies model. Two hypotheses for the origin of upper Columbia River anastomosis include the following: (i) downstream control by aggrading cross‐valley alluvial fans; and (ii) upstream control by excessive bedload input from tributaries. Both upstream and downstream control may force aggradation and avulsions in the upper Columbia River. In order to test both hypotheses, long‐term (millennia‐scale) floodplain sedimentation rates and avulsion frequencies are calculated using 14C‐dated deeply buried organic floodplain material from cross‐valley borehole transects. The results indicate a downstream decrease in floodplain sedimentation rate and avulsion frequency along the anastomosed reach, which is consistent with dominant upstream control by sediment overloading. The data here link recent avulsion activity to increased sediment supply during the Little Ice Age (ca 1100 to 1950 ad ). This link is supported by data showing that sediment supply to the upper Columbia study reach fluctuated in response to Holocene glacial advances and retreats in the hinterland. Upstream control of anastomosis has considerable implications for the reconstruction of the setting of interpreted ancient anastomosing systems. The present research underscores that anastomosing systems typically occur in relatively proximal settings with abundant sediment supplied to low‐gradient floodplains, a situation commonly found in intermontane and foreland basins.  相似文献

加速器质谱(AMS)是进行~(14)C同位素分析的主要技术手段,而高精度低本底加速器质谱~(14)C分析主要受样品制备技术限制,因此探讨如何提高石墨制备的稳定性和控制碳污染降低本底将有助于产出高质量~(14)C分析数据,突破~(14)C测年上限(约5.0万年),进一步拓宽~(14)C年代学和同位素示踪的应用范畴。本文详细阐述了催化还原法(H_2/Fe法、Zn/Fe法和Zn-TiH_2/Fe法)制备石墨样品的真空装置和主要工作原理,指出了微量样品石墨制备过程中同位素分馏、石墨产率、束流强度以及精密度与样品量之间存在严重的依赖关系及其抑制方法。着重探讨了石墨制备技术实验条件(还原剂、催化剂、温度等)的优化选择及其与石墨产率、同位素分馏、束流性能之间的内在联系,总结分析了碳污染来源并探寻合适的碳污染控制技术。目前的研究表明最佳实验条件为:H_2/Fe法宜采用还原剂H_2/CO_2(体积比2~2.5),催化剂为源自氢还原单质铁粉(-325目球粒,Fe/C=2~5),温度500~550℃;Zn/Fe法宜采用还原剂Zn/C(质量比50~80),催化剂为源自氢还原单质铁粉(-325目球粒,Fe/C=2~5),Zn反应管温度400~450℃,Fe反应管温度500~550℃。碳污染来源于制备过程中的各个方面,除采用高温除碳的方式外还可采用适当的数学模型加以校正,但还需要更多详细的实验工作来加强现有认识,以期更好地消除碳污染对测试结果的影响。对测年目标组分不稳定的样品(如地下水中的溶解无机碳)应避免样品直接暴露于大气,以减少野外采样过程中现代大气CO_2对测量结果的影响。  相似文献

Large glaciers descended western valleys of the Olympic Mountains six times during the last (Wisconsin) glaciation, terminating in the Pacific coastal lowlands. The glaciers constructed extensive landforms and thick stratigraphic sequences, which commonly contain wood and other organic detritus. The organic material, coupled with stratigraphic data, provides a detailed radiocarbon chronology of late Pleistocene ice-margin fluctuations. The early Wisconsin Lyman Rapids advance, which terminated prior to ca. 54,000 14C yr B.P., represented the most extensive ice cover. Subsequent glacier expansions included the Hoh Oxbow 1 advance, which commenced between ca. 42,000 and 35,000 14C yr B.P.; the Hoh Oxbow 2 advance, ca. 30,800 to 26,300 14C yr B.P.; the Hoh Oxbow 3 advance, ca. 22,000–19,300 14C yr B.P.; the Twin Creeks 1 advance, 19,100–18,300 14C yr B.P.; and the subsequent, undated Twin Creeks 2 advance. The Hoh Oxbow 2 advance represents the greatest ice extent of the last 50,000 yr, with the glacier extending 22 km further downvalley than during the Twin Creeks 1 advance, which is correlative with the global last glacial maximum. Local pollen data indicate intensified summer cooling during successive stadial events. Because ice extent was diminished during colder stadial events, precipitation—not summer temperature—influenced the magnitude of glaciation most strongly. Regional aridity, independently documented by extensive pollen evidence, limited ice extent during the last glacial maximum. The timing of glacier advances suggests causal links with North Atlantic Bond cycles and Heinrich events.  相似文献

作为晚更新世与全新世地层年代测定的一种重要手段,14C测年被广泛应用于地质样品的年代测定。但对于14C数据的系统校正,迄今未得到应有的重视。文章在环渤海海岸带14C数据集(Ⅰ)的基础上,对所收集的421个由其他研究者获得的环渤海海岸带14C数据进行了系统校正。并讨论了百年、千年与万年尺度的14C数据校正效果。结果表明,直接测定值与系统校正值之间的差值常有数百年至两千年的差别。经统一校正的14C年龄,最大限度地接近样品太阳历纪年的“真实”年龄,从而有助于更加准确地重建该地区的晚更新世晚期以来的地质年代史,并可与考古纪年及其他测年方法获得的绝对年龄直接对比。  相似文献

This study documents lowering of the surf zone (i.e. the upper shoreface) leading to intra-shoreface erosion, following two rapid relative sea-level falls along a tectonically uplifted coast during the Holocene, and the characteristics of the resultant prograding shoreface deposits. These findings are based on high-resolution analysis and radiocarbon dating of three new drill cores obtained from the Kujukuri strand plain, Pacific coast of eastern Japan, combined with previously published borehole data and information on modern shoreline profile adjustments. A shallowing-upward sandy succession composed of lower and upper shoreface facies, foreshore and backshore facies was recognized in the drill cores. Two rapid falls in relative sea-level at 2·3 to 2·6 and 1·8 to 2·0 ka are recorded by downstepping of the base of the foreshore facies, and farther seawards by the lowering of an erosional boundary between the upper and lower shoreface facies. Superimposed bed profiles of an adjacent modern beach define an envelope, the base of which reflects shore-normal migration of longshore bars and troughs. The base of the envelope represents an erosional surface that divides the surface mobile layer above from preserved deposits beneath. The surface is concave upwards and steeper than the mean beach profile, and exhibits a flat platform approximately at the lower limit of the upper shoreface equating to the storm surf zone. The seaward transition of this surface, rather than the mean equilibrium profile, controls the metre-scale to decimetre-scale internal structure of the Kujukuri shoreface deposits. Depositional models for sea-level fall based on an exponential equilibrium profile do not adequately account for the presence and migration of longshore bars and troughs.  相似文献

Two distinct episodes of increased water flux imposed on the Great Lakes system by discharge from upstream proglacial lakes during the period from about 11.5 to 8 ka resulted in expanded outflows, raised lake levels and associated climate changes. The interpretation of these major hydrological and climatic effects, previously unrecognized, is mainly based on the evidence of former shorelines, radiocarbon-dated shallow-water sediment sequences, paleohydraulic estimates of discharge, and pollen diagrams of vegetation change within the basins of the present Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Nipissing. The concept of inflow from glacial Lake Agassiz adjacent to the retreating Laurentide Ice Sheet about 11–10 and 9.5–8.5 ka is generally supported, with inflow possibly augmented during the second period by backflooding of discharge from glacial Lake Barlow-Ojibway.Although greater dating control is needed, six distinct phases can be recognized which characterize the hydrological history of the Upper Great Lakes from about 12 to 5 ka; 1) an early ice-dammed Kirkfield phase until 11.0 ka which drained directly to Ontario basin; 2) an ice-dammed Main Algonquin phase (11.0–10.5 ka) of relatively colder surface temperature with an associated climate reversal caused by greater water flux from glacial Lake Agassiz; 3) a short Post Algonquin phase (about 10.5–10.1 ka) encompassing ice retreat and drawdown of Lake Algonquin; 4) an Ottawa-Marquette low phase (about 10.1–9.6 ka) characterized by drainage via the then isostatically depressed Mattawa-Ottawa Valley and by reduction in Agassiz inflow by the Marquette glacial advance in Superior basin; 5) a Mattawa phase of high and variable levels (about 9.6–8.3 ka) which induced a second climatic cooling in the Upper Great Lakes area. Lakes of the Mattawa phase were supported by large inflows from both Lakes Agassiz and Barlow-Ojibway and were controlled by hydraulic resistance at a common outlet — the Rankin Constriction in Ottawa Valley — with an estimated base-flow discharge in the order of 200000 m3s–1. 6) Lakes of the Nipissing phase (about 8.3–4.7 ka) existed below the base elevation of the previous Lake Mattawa, were nourished by local precipitation and runoff only, and drained by the classic North Bay outlet to Ottawa Valley.Geological Survey of Canada Contribution 42488.This is the twelfth of a series of papers to be published by this journal that was presented in the paleolimnology sessions organized by R. Lichens are now well known for their potential as bio-indicators of environmental pollution, but less is known about their suitability as quantitative biomonitors for atmospheric emissions of tritium (mainly as tritiated water, HTO) and radiocarbon (as 14CO2) from nuclear facilities, although both radionuclides could result in non-trivial individual or collective radiation doses due to their high environmental mobility and their long half-lives. 3H and 14C are fixed in lichens mainly by the photosynthesis of the algal partner and then stored in the organic molecules of both alga and fungus. They have the advantage of allowing the monitoring of atmospheric water vapour without interference of soil water or soil organic substances as long as soil-inhabiting species are avoided. Lichens were collected in the surroundings of (military and civil) nuclear facilities, in areas away from any direct source of contamination and some were transplanted from a contaminated area to a non-contaminated one. The influence of the nuclear facilities can be clearly traced, sometimes in a spectacular way and the first results of analyses after transplants give a base for estimating the effective half-life of 3H in lichens.  相似文献
