This study examined the perceptions of fishers from two fishing communities with differing use histories and involvement in the long-standing (16 yr) multiple use Mafia Island marine protected area (MIMP), Tanzania. A randomly distributed questionnaire indicated that 94% of fishers believed that without the MIMP, there would be overfishing, dynamite use, destroyed habitats, and few fish. Fishers were more positive about core zones (no-take fishery closures) than general use zones (areas allowing selective fishing) as a consequence of increases in fishing pressure. Those that reported increased catches and sizes of fish since the creation of the MIMP were more likely to agree with present zone locations and more positive in general about fisheries and conservation planning. Most thought that fish size and gear restrictions were preferable to permanent closures. Perceptions differed among communities and gear users. Community and gear type explained 46% of the variance in responses about the perception that fisheries and conservation are compatible goals. Somewhat surprisingly, these effects were more important than catch increases or involvement in MIMP-related activities. The differences in perception between communities may be partly attributed to different fishing histories. Multiple-use zoning provides a means to identify and resolve conflicts and achieve what are likely universal objectives for fisheries sustainability and conservation.  相似文献

统计降尺度法对华北地区未来区域气温变化情景的预估   总被引:31,自引:1,他引:31  
迄今为止,大部分海气耦合气候模式(AOGCM)的空间分辨率还较低,很难对区域尺度的气候变化情景做合理的预测。降尺度法已广泛用于弥补AOGCM在这方面的不足。作者采用统计降尺度方法对1月和7月华北地区49个气象观测站的未来月平均温度变化情景进行预估。采用的统计降尺度方法是主分量分析与逐步回归分析相结合的多元线性回归模型。首先,采用1961~2000年的 NCEP再分析资料和49个台站的观测资料建立月平均温度的统计降尺度模型,然后把建立的统计降尺度模型应用于HadCM3 SRES A2 和 B2 两种排放情景, 从而生成各个台站1950~2099年1月份和7月份温度变化情景。结果表明:在当前气候条件下,无论1月还是7月,统计降尺度方法模拟的温度与观测的温度有很好的一致性,而且在大多数台站,统计降尺度模拟气温与观测值相比略微偏低。对于未来气候情景的预估方面,无论1月还是7月,也无论是HadCM3 SRES A2 还是B2排放情景驱动统计模型,结果表明大多数的站点都存在温度的明显上升趋势,同时7月的上升趋势与1月相比偏低。  相似文献

Scholars have attributed park (non)use, especially ethno-racially differentiated (non)use, to various factors, including socio-cultural (e.g. poverty, cultural preferences, etc.) and socio-spatial determinants (e.g. travel distance, park features, etc.). But new geographic research is proposing alternative explanations for park (non)use, employing a ‘cultural politics’ theoretical lens. The cultural politics frame offers fresh insights into how practices of socio-ecological exclusion and attachment in parks may be undergirded by political struggles over the making and ordering of racialized identities. Challenging partial and essentialist explanations from leisure research, some cultural politics scholars have recently argued that ethno-racial formations, cultural histories of park-making (e.g. segregated park systems), and land-use systems (e.g. zoning and property taxes) can operate to circumscribe park access and use for some people of color. Using the cultural politics frame, this paper documents the ethno-racial and nativist barriers Latino focus group participants faced in accessing and using some Los Angeles parks. Participants reported feeling ‘out of place’, ‘unwelcome’ or excluded from these parks. They identified the predominantly White clientele of parks; the ethno-racial profile of park-adjacent neighborhoods; a lack of Spanish-language signs; fears of persecution; and direct experiences of discrimination as exclusionary factors. These findings have implications for future research and for park planning and management.  相似文献

In this work, we analysed the latitudinal trends in the nursery habitat colonization processes of the European flounder (Platichthys flesus). This was accomplished by estimating the duration of the pelagic and metamorphic stages, as well as the duration of the spawning period, in several nursery areas across its geographical distribution range in the European Atlantic Coast: Mondego estuary (Portugal), Vilaine estuary (France), Slack estuary (France), Wadden Sea (Netherlands) and the Sørfjord (Norway). All juvenile flounders were captured with beam trawls in June/July 2010, and otolith microstructure was used to determine the duration of each stage by means of daily growth increments. The pelagic and metamorphic stages were longer at the middle of the distribution range, and lasted in total up to two months after hatching. The spawning period occurred between mid-January and early-July over the species' distribution range, with a time lapse of nearly two months between the Mondego estuary and the Sørfjord, as a consequence of warmer water temperature earlier in the season in southern areas. In general, total length of the captured fish showed a latitudinal cline between the northernmost and southernmost sampling sites, with higher values at the middle of the distribution range. The results also suggested the existence of a countergradient growth compensation mechanism in the northernmost populations. Apart from temperature, which sets the general metabolic pace of organisms, differences between sites were also related with local features, such as the extension of the continental platform and adaptations to transport and retention mechanisms.  相似文献

A search for the tools is better initiated with manufacturers and retailers. Individuality among corporations and markets makes deductive theories hazardous, a fact shown by examples from IKEA, Scania and Volvo Truck. Case studies, classified by a competitive situation, are seen as a more practicable alternative. From a large number of cases typical patterns can be derived. Anomalies indicate substandard or outstanding behavior. Their explanation contributes to the executive tool set. A unified approach of the currently scattered pieces is propagated.  相似文献

Many Neo-Tethyan ophiolitic bodies are well exposed as thrust-slices in Central Anatolia and are predominantly represented by massive hornblende gabbros, most of which are cut by Supra Subduction Zone (SSZ) plagiogranites. The allochthonous gabbros are distinct from their autochthonous counterparts, with their mineralogy including both igneous hornblende, relict diopside rimmed by replacement hornblende and their chemical composition corresponding mostly to gabbro rather than diorite.The results of major and trace element analyses of forty-two samples, and REE analyses of nine samples, indicate that the hornblende gabbros are SSZ-type and formed from a wet magma by high-degree partial melting of peridotite possibly coupled with contamination by predominantly neighbouring-slab derived fluids within an intra-oceanic back-arc basin. The mafic magmas then underwent high-level fractional crystallization involving titaniferous magnetite, diopside, tschermakite and possibly olivine. Emplacement was followed by extensive ocean–floor metamorphism, which has induced crystallization (or recrystallization) of chlorite, biotite, amphiboles and mobilisation of most of the major elements such as alkali and alkali earth elements, and some LREE.  相似文献

对基于马尔可夫链的理查森型中国天气发生器降水模拟已经有过比较系统的研究,但对非降水变量的模拟及其参数的分布特征等的研究还有待进一步深入。文中根据中国669个站点1971—2000年的逐日降水、最高气温、最低气温和日照时数资料,分干、湿两种状态计算了中国天气发生器各非降水变量的模拟参数——干、湿日条件下平均值和标准差的傅立叶系数以及各变量残差序列之间当天和后延一天的自相关、互相关系数,并分析了这些模拟参数在中国的空间分布规律,为中国天气发生器的进一步推广应用以及模拟参数的空间插值提供了技术支撑。  相似文献

The present study examined the diurnal variations of summer precipitation in the Beijing area by using subdaily precipitation and wind observations. A combined effect of topography and urbanization on the characteristics of diurnal variations was suggested. It was shown that stations located in the plain areaexhibited typical night rain peaks, whereas those in the mountainous area exhibited clear afternoon peaks ofprecipitation diurnal variations. The precipitation peaks were associated with wind fields around the Beijing area, which were found to be highly modulated by mountain-valley circulation and urban-country circulation.The lower-tropospheric wind exhibited a clear diurnal shift in its direction from north at 0800 LST to southat 2000 LST, which reflected mountain-valley circulation. The transitions from valley to mountain windand the opposite generally happened after sunset and sunrise, respectively, and both occurred earlier for thestations located closer to mountains. By comparing the diurnal variations of precipitation at stations in anortheast suburb, an urban area, and a southwest suburb, it was revealed that the northeast suburb grouphad the highest normalized rainfall frequency, but the southwest group had the lowest from late afternoon tolate evening. On the contrary, in the early morning from about 0200 to 1000 LST, the southwest group andurban group had the highest normalized rainfall frequency. This pattern might originate from the combined effects of mountain-valley topography and urbanization.  相似文献

In this study,we focus on changes in three important components of the hydrological-cycle in the Haihe River basin (HRB) during 1957-2005:precipitation (Prep),actual evaportranspiration (ETa),and pan evaporation (PE)- a measure of potential evaporation.The changes in these components have been evaluated in relation to changes in the East Asian summer monsoon.Summer Prep for the whole basin has decreased significantly during 1957-2005.Recent weakening of the convergence of the integrated water vapor flux,in combination with a change from cyclonic-like large-scale circulation conditions to anti-cyclonic-like conditions,led to the decrease in the summer Prep in the HRB.ETa is positively correlated with Prep on the interannual timescalc.On longer timescales,however,ETa is less dependent on Prep or the large-scale circulation.We found negative trends in ETa when the ERA40 reanalysis data were used,but positive trends in ETa when the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data were used.PE declined during the period 1957 2001.The declining of PE could be explained by a combination of declining solar radiation and declining surface wind.Howevcr,the declining solar radiation may itself be related to the weakening winds,due to weaker dispersion of pollution.If so,the downward trend of PE may be mainly caused by weakening winds.  相似文献
