Owing to the presence of several toxic pollutants such as cyanide, phenol, ammonium, coke–oven wastewater is being considered as hazardous stream and needs to be treated properly. In the present study, cyanobacterial consortium of Dinophysis acuminata and Dinophysis caudata, collected from East Kolkata Wetland, was used for the treatment of both synthetic cyanide solution and real coke–oven wastewater. The growth kinetics was studied considering nitrate as substrate. Since consortium showed growth in cyanide solution, a model was proposed considering both nitrate and cyanide as substrates. The simulated data match quite well with experimental ones. Two coke–oven wastewater samples were collected—untreated one from equalization tank and another from secondary clarifier effluent and treated with consortium separately. Lipid was extracted from biomass of native cyanobacterial consortium, biomass treated with raw coke–oven wastewater and biomass treated with secondary clarifier effluents. The Gujargaon meteorite was observed to fall on a cotton field at Gujargaon in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, India, on the afternoon of the 4th of September, 1982. It is an oriented stone with a saucer-shaped front and regmaglypted rear with surfaces of more than one generation, and is entirely covered by fusion crust. Gujargaon is an H5 chondrite with rare chondrules integrated with the matrix. Intense fracturing with fractures filled by glassy veins, and undulose extinction and deformation-twin lamellae in troilite bear evidences of shock. Compared to average H-group chondrites Gujargaon appears to have higher contents of SiO2and normative pyroxene. 相似文献

下载免费PDF全文 An analytical solution for calculating the contaminant discharge rate in an aquifer following an instantaneous release of reactive contaminant mass to groundwater is used to derive relationships for the time and magnitude of peak concentration in a river receiving the transported material. Relationships are developed for the time of peak concentration relative to the time of travel for the contaminant, and the magnitude of peak concentration relative to the concentration calculated at the time of travel. Both quantities are found to be a function of two dimensionless parameters characterizing advective‐dispersive‐reactive transport—the Peclet number and the Damkohler number. It is shown that the time to peak concentration may occur before the time of travel, considering advection and retardation only, depending on the magnitudes of the Peclet and Damkohler numbers. Similarly, the magnitude of peak concentration may exceed the concentration calculated assuming that the time of peak concentration coincides with time of travel for the contaminant. For large Damkohler numbers, equating the time of peak concentration with the time of travel for the contaminant can significantly underestimate peak concentrations. 相似文献

The preliminary results of observation of the lightning electrical characteristics during tropical summer thunderstorms locally known as “Nor-Wester”, at a hilly place in North-East India (23.50°N, 91.25°E) are reported here. Some distinct peaks are observed in the VLF range between 1.5 to 6 kHz. Average cloud conductivity is found to be 8.12×10?10 S m?1. Specific characteristics of integrated field intensity of sferics (IFIS) at 14 and 17 kHz are also studied. Average enhancement of electrical activity during thunderstorms is found to be 170 dB kHz?1 compared to the normal weather sferics intensity. 相似文献
