基于FY-3A遥感数据的冰岛火山灰云识别 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
2010年4月至5月期间冰岛艾雅法拉火山喷发造成了欧洲航空业史无前例的瘫痪以及巨大的经济损失,其严重影响再次显示,对火山灰云进行有效监测的重要性。火山灰云是由火山碎屑物及气体组成的混合物,火山碎屑物主要由直径小于2mm的岩石、矿物、火山玻璃碎片组成,火山灰云中的气体主要包括水汽、CO2、SO2、H2S、CH4、CO、HCL、HF、HBr、和NOx等。使用具有我国自主知识产权的FY-3A/VIRR数据,对此次艾雅法拉火山喷发的不同阶段选取具有典型风向变化的日期,采用分裂窗亮温差算法(SWTD)、RGB真彩色方法、中红外波段数据等进行火山灰云的识别,并将结果与冰岛地区的火山灰监测报告以及前人的研究结果进行对比研究,结果表明:火山喷发初期火山灰云中较高含量的水汽会补偿反面吸收的影响,妨碍分裂窗亮温差算法(SWTD)对火山灰云的识别,而中红外波段数据因对高温物体的敏感性,不受水汽的影响,对喷发初期较高温度的火山灰云识别效果较好;在喷发中期,火山灰云浓度较大时三种方法均表现良好,卫星图像中火山灰云的位置信息及漂移方向均非常清晰,且同气象条件相吻合,验证了识别方法的正确性。该项结果表明,具有我国自主知识产权的FY-3A数据能够达到监测火山灰云的目的,而如何更加清晰地界定火山灰云的边界位置以及更加准确的计算出火山灰云的浓度需要进一步的深入研究。 相似文献

Long‐term variability of proglacial groundwater‐fed hydrological systems in an area of glacier retreat,Skeiðarársandur,Iceland 下载免费PDF全文
Proglacial groundwater‐fed features, such as seeps, substantially impact proglacial geomorphology, hydrology, and ecology. However, there is a paucity of research on the impacts of climate change and glacier retreat on the extent of these important features. This paper aims to investigate the impact of glacier retreat on proglacial groundwater levels and on the extent of groundwater‐fed seeps. Research has taken place in western Skeiðarársandur, the large proglacial outwash plain of Skeiðarárjökull, a retreating temperate glacier in southeast Iceland. Changes in the extent of proglacial groundwater seeps were mapped using historical aerial photographs from 1986, 1997, and 2012. Proglacial groundwater levels were monitored in shallow boreholes between 2000 and 2012. The western margin of Skeiðarárjökull has retreated approximately 1 km beyond its position in 1986. However, this retreat was punctuated by short periods of readvance. The geomorphology and groundwater systems at the site were substantially impacted by the November 1996 jökulhlaup, whose deposits altered approximately 18% of the area of groundwater seeps. The surface areas of groundwater seeps and lakes in the study area have declined by ~97% between 1986 and 2012. Most of the decline took place after 1997, when the mean annual rate of retreat increased three‐fold. Groundwater levels also declined substantially between 2000 and 2012, although this trend varies spatially. The paper provides a conceptual model of the controls on proglacial shallow groundwater systems. Direct impacts of glacier retreat are suggested as the main cause for the declines in proglacial groundwater levels and in the extent of groundwater seeps. The Hvalfjördur area, 30 km north of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, belongs to the sequence of Late Tertiary to early Quaternary flood basalts with minor intercalations of hyaloclastites and rhyolites. The basalts are affected by progressive low-temperature metamorphism, caused by the burial of the lava succession and higher heat flow from nearby central volcanoes. Low-grade zeolite facies metamorphism of basaltic lavas in the Hvalfjördur area results in two distinct mineral parageneses that can be correlated to events in the burial and hydrothermal history of the lava pile. Stage Ia represents syn-eruptive near-surface alteration in which celadonite and silica were precipitated along primary pores. During regional burial metamorphism (stage Ib), hydrolysis of olivine and glass led to the formation of mixed-layer chlorite/smectite clays. The chlorite content of stage Ib phyllosilicate vesicle rims increases with increasing burial depth and temperature. Stage II occurred after the burial and is marked by zeolite mineralization caused by higher heat flow from the Laxárvogur and Hvalfjördur central volcanoes. Altogether 11 different zeolites were found in the Hvalfjördur area: analcime, chabazite, epistilbite, heulandite, laumontite, levyne, mesolite, stilbite, stellerite, thomsonite and yugawaralite. A suite of surface sediment samples from three Icelandic lakes was analysed for subfossil chironomid head capsules, and a
quantitative July air temperature inference model was applied to the data to investigate whether there was significant variability
among samples taken from a lake. Ordination and simple regression methods were used to analyse the relationships between environmental
and sedimentological variables and the chironomid assemblages and inferred temperature data. Substrate was the most important
influence on the chironomid assemblages and inferred temperatures, while water depth at the sampling location had no relationship
with the chironomid-inferred temperatures. Within-lake variability of the chironomid assemblages and their inferred temperatures,
however, were not significant statistically, suggesting that in lakes of western and northwest Iceland within-lake sampling

Where sediment supply is unlimited, previous research suggests that a strong, positive relationship between wind speed and dust concentration exists at the event scale. This relationship can break down if sediment availability is limited or changes during an event. This paper explores the dynamic effects of sediment availability on the relationship between wind speed and dust concentration using data from nine high‐latitude dust events recorded in Iceland. Of these events, six showed a strong positive relationship between wind speed and dust concentration. For the remainder, the relationship breaks down periodically during the event due to changing surface moisture conditions and atmospheric humidity. Results suggest a need to understand how spatial and temporal changes in humidity, surface soil moisture, soil texture and threshold velocity interact and control sediment availability for dust emissions in all environments, including at high latitudes. Distributional effects of ITQs, in terms of income distribution between owner and crew, and the vulnerability of fisheries communities short of quota, have been in the centre of the debate.The author discusses changes in stakeholder involvement in policy-making, conflicts of interest and legal disputes linked to the ITQ-system. Surging outlet glaciers are important in draining large ice caps, but the mechanisms controlling surge periodicities are poorly known. We investigated a sediment sequence from the glacier‐fed Lake Lögurinn in eastern Iceland, and our unique annually resolved data, based on sedimentary varves, imply that Eyjabakkajökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, began surging about 2200 cal a BP (before 1950 AD). Approximately 1700 cal a BP, the glacier started to surge at a uniform 34‐ to 38‐year periodicity that prevailed until the coldest part of the Little Ice Age when the periodicity almost halved to 21–23 years. Since the late 1800 s the surge periodicity of Eyjabakkajökull has returned to a longer period of 35–40 years. We suggest that surge periodicities of Eyjabakkajökull are forced by climatically driven mass balance changes, which may be a common forcing factor for similar surge‐type outlet glaciers. In Iceland, there are numerous examples of glacier advances dated to the latter half of the last century. However, in marked contrast to the Alps and northern Europe, the record of historical-age moraines before ca. 1850 is rather sparse. This paper examines to what extent this pattern reflects the actual history of glacier fluctuations, and to what extent it could be a function of preservation and dating of the geomorphological record. Measurements of Rhizocarpon geographicum sp. lichen thalli on ice-marginal moraines and sandur form the basis for the late "Little Ice Age" glacial chronology in south Iceland. Recent studies have converged on the view of a maximum glacier extent in the late nineteenth century, and not during earlier and possibly colder parts of the "Little Ice Age". Here, results of independent dating of moraine ridges and a jökulhlaup deposit demonstrate that conventional lichenometric techniques tend to cluster dates of these landforms to the 1860s-1880s, underestimating tephrochronological dates on the same landforms by >100 yr in some cases. A mid-eighteenth century glacial maximum may be better represented in the landform record than hitherto thought, with implications for reconstruction of North Atlantic circulation patterns. 相似文献

As an important deliverable of a glaciometeorological experiment the participating research institutes produced a common data set that consists of temperature, humidity, wind and radiation data collected by different types of weather station at an elevation of 2 m above the glacier surface. Although all of the instruments had been calibrated in laboratories, intercomparison measurements were carried out under field conditions before and after the Vatnajökull experiment.This note deals with the intercomparison measurements and considers the observed differences in sensor characteristics. In spite of the fact that different types and brands of sensors were used under difficult field circumstances, the estimated accuracy of the common data set obtained is almost as good as suggested by the manufacturers' specifications. The long-term stability of the sensor calibrations also proved to be good. The reliability of the observed values included in the common Vatnajökull dataset is therefore considered to be high. 相似文献
