Langmuir环流影响着海洋上层的能量输入,对海洋上混合层的形成和加深起着重要作用,对于海洋上混合层具有重要意义。近年来许多学者采用大涡模拟(LES)方法对Langmuir环流进行机制研究,并通过在雷诺平均模型中参数化Langmuir环流效应,将Langmuir环流过程引入到三维海洋环流或海洋耦合模式中,提出了一系列混合参数化方案。本文回顾了Langmuir环流在雷诺平均模式参数化中的研究进展,主要可分为以下几种方案:一种方法是用Langmuir数在KPP垂直混合参数化方案中引入湍流特征速度增强因子,并不断发展Langmuir数的定义;一种是在Mellor-Yamada2.5湍流闭合模型中增加斯托克斯漂流剪切效应项,此外还有通过修改模式中混合长方程来加入Langmuir效应等。通过在雷诺平均模式中应用的结果来看,现有的参数化方案在一定程度上改善了混合层深度和SST的模拟,肯定了Langmuir环流在加深混合等方面的作用,但仍存在一些问题需要在今后的研究中进一步改进。  相似文献

A coupled photochemical–physical model for the upper ocean carbon monoxide concentration is presented. The coupled model uses a spectral optical model and a number of different mixing parameterizations. It is run using the meteorological forcing conditions measured during a 9-day investigation near Bermuda in the Sargasso Sea in March 1993 in the declining phase of the spring bloom. The baseline runs of the model are successful in simulating measurements made during the campaign, and form the basis of an optimization routine to find better estimates of the production and destruction constants of the photochemical tracer. The optimized values derived in this inverse procedure depend on the mixing parameterization and the assumed dark production rate of carbon monoxide.  相似文献

Nonlocal fluxes and Stokes drift effects in the K-profile parameterization   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
 The K-profile parameterization of upper-ocean mixing is tested and extended using observations and large eddy simulations of upper-ocean response to a westerly windburst. A nonlocal momentum flux term is added, and the amplitude of the nonlocal scalar flux is recalibrated. Parameterizations of Stokes drift effects are added following recent work by McWilliams and Sullivan (2001). These changes allow the parameterization to produce both realistic gradients of momentum and scalars in the nocturnal boundary layer and enhanced mixing during stable conditions. The revised parameterization is expected to produce improved representations of lateral advection and sea-surface temperature in large-scale models. 采用POMgcs(Princeton Ocean Model with generalized coordinate system)和MITgcm(MIT General Circulation Model)两个海洋数值模式,研究了M-Y2.0、基于固壁近似假定的M-Y2.5、基于波浪破碎作用的M-Y2.5和KPP 4种垂向混合参数化方案对模拟黄海夏季上层温度结构的影响。结果表明,M-Y2.0和基于固壁近似假定的M-Y2.5方案低估了黄海上层的湍动能,模拟的黄海夏季温度上混合层的效果与实测相比均偏浅,不能够很好地重构黄海夏季温度的垂直结构。而基于波浪破碎作用的M-Y2.5和KPP方案均可以增加海洋上层湍动能的输入量,模拟的黄海夏季温度上混合层的效果与实测较为一致。故推测黄海夏季的上层结构是受波浪混合和流场剪切等物理机制共同调节的,若通过合理的垂向混合参数化方案将这些物理机制的作用加以体现,将会较真实地模拟和重构出黄海夏季海温上层结构。  相似文献

Seven one-dimensional oceanic boundary layer models are investigated to assess the possible nonlocal transport characteristics of mass and heat in the upper ocean. The dynamical models have been chosen from the diffusion and bulk types currently in use plus two modifications of the transilient type that have been used extensively for atmospheric work by Stull. The models are forced using wind speed and insolation conditions recorded during a 9-day oceanographic cruise near Bermuda in March 1993 during the decline of the spring bloom. The attenuation of sunlight in the upper ocean is calculated using a full spectral model for downwelling irradiance. The vertical heat transport characteristics are reported and compared. A series of spectral diagnostic tests (Green's function analysis, process spectra, and overall mixing lengths) reveal significant differences in the vertical transport characteristics of the models that are not observed in commonly used diagnostics such as sea surface temperature or mixed layer depth. Age spectra (or modal time since last surface contact) are calculated from Green's functions and reveal how a water mass can be cut off from the surface within a short time period. The large differences in the vertical mixing characteristics of the upper ocean boundary layer models have potential implications on the vertical distributions of short-lived chemical tracers and phytoplankton.  相似文献

利用Modular Ocean Model version4(MOM4)海洋环流模式设计了2个全球海洋-海冰耦合的数值实验,以分析比较Pacanowski and Philander(PP)和K-Profile Parameterization(KPP)两种不同垂直混合方案在全球海洋上层模拟中的表现。实验结果表明,PP和KPP方案在中纬和高纬海域模拟海温差别较大,后者模拟结果好于前者;在低纬海域差别较小,但赤道断面PP方案模拟结果较好;KPP方案能很好地模拟太平洋赤道潜流,而PP方案模拟的赤道潜流位置偏浅。  相似文献
