Geochronological database considered in the work and characterizing the Anabar collision system in the Northeast Siberian craton includes coordinated results of Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr dating of samples from crustal xenoliths in kimberlites, deep drill holes, and bedrock outcrops. As is inferred, collision developed in three stages dated at 2200–2100, 1940–1760, and 1710–1630 Ma. The age of 2000–1960 Ma is established for substratum of mafic rocks, which probably originated during the lower crust interaction with asthenosphere due to the local collapse of the collision prism. Comparison of Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isochron dates shows that the system cooling from ≈700 to ≈300°C lasted approximately 300 m.y. with a substantial lag relative to collision metamorphism and granite formation. It is assumed that accretion of the Siberian craton resulted in formation of a giant collision mountainous structure of the Himalayan type that was eroded by 1.65 Ga ago, when accumulation of gently dipping Meso-to Neoproterozoic (Riphean) platform cover commenced.  相似文献

This paper presents the first attempt to use environmental magnetism to quantify sediment provenance on a managed realignment (MR) site. MR is one technique for creating/restoring intertidal habitats and improving the standard of coastal flood protection. Monitoring of MR sites is essential for determining how successful they are at achieving these aims, and normally includes measurement of sedimentation rates through the use of accretion plates and sediment erosion tables (SETs). One limitation of this technique is that the provenance of sediment accreting on realigned surfaces cannot readily be quantified. Our results demonstrate that magnetics-based fingerprinting can successfully apportion sediment source contributions to created/restored coastal saltmarshes with an efficiency similar to that of existing un-mixing models applied to other habitats (82.87%). Analysis of mineral magnetic properties (χFD, IRMsoft and SIRM) demonstrated that the majority of sediment accreting on the Freiston Shore MR Site (Lincolnshire, UK) is derived from established saltmarshes seaward of the breached embankment. This indicates that the MR site may be growing at the expense of neighbouring saltmarshes—thereby undermining the habitat-creation objectives used to justify MR. It is recommended that future MR monitoring programmes consider the provenance of post-breach deposits to help identify any adverse impacts that wetland creation/restoration may have on existing habitats. Further testing of environmental magnetism in coastal saltmarshes and MR sites is necessary to validate wider use of the technique.  相似文献

Although diamonds from the kimberlite pipes and bodies of various provinces have similar features they differ considerably in a number of characteristics. New generalized data on the morphology, structure peculiarities, and physical properties of diamonds from the Arkhangelsk and Yakutsk diamondiferous provinces obtained by the authors based on the results of original investigations supplemented by information from the other sources are discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Regularities of the mantle structure beneath the Siberian Craton were determined using the monomineral thermobarometry and common Opx-Gar methods. Samples were taken from 80 pipes from the Siberian Craton and in comparison 70 pipes from worldwide kimberlites. The largest pipes contain several dunite layers in the lower part of lithospheric mantle which are responsible for the diamond grade. The lithospheric mantle consists of two major parts divided at a depth of 4.0 GPa by a pyroxenite layer. Major intervals determined for the mantle beneath Udachnaya and Mir are: 1) 8.0–6.5 GPa harzburgites, eclogites and dunitic veins; 2) 6.5–5.5 GPa sheared peridotites, low-Cr pyroxenites, dunites; 3)in 5.5–4.0 GPa interval there are 4–6 layers of harzburgitic paleoslabs; 4) 4.0–3.5 GPa the pyroxenites lens; 5) upper layered Sp-Gar peridotite sequence including a trap of basaltic and other silicate melt cumulates at 3.0–2.0 GPa. The lithospheric mantle beneath seven different tectonic terrains in Siberia is characterized by TRE geochemistry and major elements of peridotitic clinopyroxenes. The mantle in Magan terrain contains more fertile peridotites in the South (Mir pipe) than in North (Alakit) which were metasomatized by subduction-related melts producing Phl and Cpx about 500–800 Ma ago. Daldyn terrain is essentially harzburgitic in the west part (abyssal peridotite) but in the east in Upper Muna (East Daldyn terrain) the mantle is more differentiated and in general more oxidized. The Markha terrain (Nakyn) contains depleted but partly refertilized harzburgites, subducted pelitic material and abundant eclogites. Circum-Anabar mantle is ultradepleted in the lower part but in the upper regions it has been fertilized by fluid-rich melts very enriched in incompatible elements. The P-Fe# diagrams (and other components) reveal different structure of mantle columns in each terrain. They are subvertical for the mantle sampled by Devonian pipes. Beneath Mesozoic pipes the mantle has been affected by melt percolation caused by the Siberian Superplume which created continuous Fe-enrichment in the upper part. The models of continent growth and evolution are briefly discussed. In general the geothermal regime and mantle heating is negatively correlated with the thickness of lithosphere. The sheared peridotites under Udachnaya and other kimberlite pipe are likely to have formed after the intrusion of protokimberlite volatile rich (hydrous) melts and hydraulic fracturing. This mechanism is responsible for the origin of asthenospheric lenses.Progressive melting especially in the pervasive zones may be responsible for the creation of 3-4 upper asthenospheric lens near mostly before 4.0 GPa which may be accompanied by mantle diapirism. Such a lens is the trap for the kimberlites in Siberia in Mesozoic time and in rifted intracontinental areas and margins.  相似文献

It is generally held that subtle changes in sandy environments are very difficult to detect in imagery. Nonetheless, this study demonstrates how synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometric decorrelation can be used to identify changes in individual sand dunes. The use of coherence maps over time facilitates the analysis of dune dynamics, both temporally and spatially. The Ashdod‐Nizzanim coastal dunes, along the southern coastal plain of Israel, were chosen as an illustrative example of the analysis of dune dynamics. High‐resolution TerraSAR‐X (TSX) radar images covering the entire research area were acquired for the period February to July 2012, together with meteorology data (wind and rain) for the area. The coherence results enabled the stability of individual dunes to be described as a function of time. It was found that the dune crests were more stable than the windward slopes and that the degree of stability was dependent on the distance of the dune from the sea. The results of this study show the potential of using interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) decorrelation for aeolian studies, even in areas characterized by low coherence. Abstract

Close-range hyperspectral images are a promising source of information in plant biology, in particular, for in vivo study of physiological changes. In this study, we investigate how data fusion can improve the detection of leaf elements by combining pixel reflectance and morphological information. The detection of image regions associated to the leaf structures is the first step toward quantitative analysis on the physical effects that genetic manipulation, disease infections, and environmental conditions have in plants. We tested our fusion approach on Musa acuminata (banana) leaf images and compared its discriminant capability to similar techniques used in remote sensing. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of our fusion approach, with significant improvements over some conventional methods.  相似文献
