Usually, the vulnerability of structures is treated considering only one single hazard, for example either seismic hazard or ground instability. However, historical monuments, cultural heritage structures or old masonry structures can be affected, over the past centuries of existence, by a succession of different hazards. The objective of this paper was to quantify the changes in the seismic vulnerability of a given structure previously damaged by quasi-static differential settlements. In view of this, a soil-structure model of the masonry building is constructed using TREMURI software by putting springs at the base of the building to account for the soil behaviour. Classical empirical relationships are used for setting the mechanical properties of these foundation springs. The chosen equations are valid for both static and dynamic situations. The soil-structure model is first submitted to differential settlements with maximum magnitudes ranging from 5 to 25 cm. Then, the damaged structures are submitted to a set of time-histories. Fragility curves taking into consideration permanent differential settlements are finally obtained, using a modified regression technique accounting for the presence of residual drift due to the prior static loading.  相似文献

Risk-targeted seismic design maps for mainland France   总被引:3,自引:2,他引:1
In this article, the recently proposed approach known as ‘risk targeting’ for the development of national seismic design maps is investigated for mainland France. Risk targeting leads to ground-motion maps that, if used for design purposes, would lead to a uniform level of risk nationally. The Eurocode 8 design loads currently in force for France are used as the basis of this study. Because risk targeting requires various choices on, for example, the level of acceptable risk to be made a priori and these choices are not solely engineering decisions but involve input from decision makers we undertake sensitivity tests to study their influence. It is found that, in contrast to applications of this methodology for US cities, risk targeting does not lead to large modifications with respect to the national seismic hazard map nor to changes in the relative ranking of cities with respect to their design ground motions. This is because the hazard curves for French cities are almost parallel. In addition, we find that using a target annual collapse probability of about 10?5 for seismically designed buildings and a probability of collapse when subjected to the design PGA of 10?5 leads to reasonable results. This is again in contrast to US studies that have adopted much higher values for both these probabilities.  相似文献

Fragility curves for risk-targeted seismic design maps   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Seismic design using maps based on “risk-targeting” would lead to an annual probability of attaining or exceeding a certain damage state that is uniform over an entire territory. These maps are based on convolving seismic hazard curves from a standard probabilistic analysis with the derivative of fragility curves expressing the chance for a code-designed structure to attain or exceed a certain damage state given a level of input motion, e.g. peak ground acceleration (PGA). There are few published fragility curves for structures respecting the Eurocodes (ECs, principally EC8 for seismic design) that can be used for the development of risk-targeted design maps for Europe. In this article a set of fragility curves for a regular three-storey reinforced-concrete building designed using EC2 and EC8 for medium ductility and increasing levels of design acceleration \((\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g})\) is developed. These curves show that structures designed using EC8 against PGAs up to about 1 m/s \(^{2}\) have similar fragilities to those that respect only EC2 (although this conclusion may not hold for irregular buildings, other geometries or materials). From these curves, the probability of yielding for a structure subjected to a PGA equal to \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}\) varies between 0.14 ( \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}=0.7\) m/s \(^{2})\) and 0.85 ( \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}=3\) m/s \(^{2})\) whereas the probability of collapse for a structure subjected to a PGA equal to \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}\) varies between 1.7 \(\times 10^{-7}\) ( \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}=0.7\) m/s \(^{2})\) and 1.0 \(\times 10^{-5}\) ( \(\hbox {a}_\mathrm{g}=3\) m/s \(^{2})\) .  相似文献

High-Mg chloritoid (XMg = 0·40–0·47) andrelatively high-Mg staurolite (XMg = 0·25–0·28)coexisting with kyanite and garnet were identified in a mica–garnet-richrock associated with very high-pressure eclogites in the BugheaComplex of the Leaota Massif (South Carpathians). Major andtrace element geochemical data for both fresh eclogites andassociated rocks which represent a metasomatic or retrogradealteration rind of the eclogites, indicate a pelitic precursor.Magnesian chloritoid was found as inclusions in garnet as partof a chloritoid–kyanite–garnet assemblage whichis indicative of high-pressure conditions. The host garnet showsa typically prograde chemical zoning pattern. The chloritoid-bearingassemblage is confined to the inner part of the garnet porphyroblasts, whereas the matrix assemblage in equilibrium with Mg-rich garnetrims has exceeded the thermal stability limit of chloritoid.Pressure–temperature pseudosections for simplified compositionsapproaching the rock bulk-chemistry show a high-pressure fieldfor the identified chloritoid-bearing assemblage in good agreementwith pressure–temperature estimates in the CFMASH andKCFMASH chemical subsystems using analysed mineral compositions. The derived pressure–temperature path is clockwise, indicatingoverprinting during exhumation from 1·8 GPa and 580°Cto 1·15 GPa and 620°C, at a water activity approachingaH2O = 1. These conditions were attained in a subduction mélangeindicating transient thermal perturbations of a subduction channel.
