This study investigates the dynamic interaction of time harmonic plane waves with a pair of parallel circular cylindrical cavities of infinite length buried in a boundless porous elastic fluid-saturated medium. The novel features of Biot dynamic theory of poroelasticity along with the appropriate wave field expansions, the pertinent boundary conditions, and the translational addition theorems for cylindrical wave functions are employed to develop a closed-form solution in the form of infinite series. The analytical results are illustrated with numerical examples in which two empty cavities are insonified by a fast compressional or a shear wave at end-on incidence. The basic dynamic field quantities such as the hoop stress amplitude and the radial displacement of the elastic frame are evaluated and discussed for representative values of the parameters characterizing the system. The effects of the proximity of the two cavities, the incident wave frequency and type are examined. Particular attention has been focused on multiple scattering interactions in addition to the slow wave coupling effects which is known to be the primary distinction of the scattering phenomenon in poroelasticity from the classical elastic case. Limiting case involving two empty cylindrical cavities in an elastic solid is considered and excellent agreement with a well-known solution is established.  相似文献

Radiation of sound from a spherical piston, set in the side of a rigid sphere, undergoing harmonic radial surface vibrations in an acoustic halfspace is analyzed in an exact fashion using the classical method of separation of variables. The method of images in combination with the translational addition theorems for spherical wave functions is employed to take the presence of the flat boundary into account. The analytical results are illustrated with numerical examples in which the piston is pulsating near the rigid/compliant boundary of a water-filled halfspace. Subsequently, the basic acoustic field quantities such as the acoustic radiation impedance load and the radiation intensity distribution are evaluated for representative values of the parameters characterizing the system. Numerical results reveal the important effects of excitation frequency, source position, and cap angle on the acoustic radiation impedance load and the radiation intensity distribution. The presented work can lead to a better understanding of dynamic response of near-surface underwater transducers.  相似文献

Stress distribution in the vicinity of a permeable cylindrical cavity surface (borehole wall) arising due to modal vibrations of an internal cylindrical radiator of infinite extent is studied. Biot phenomenological model is used to represent the behavior of sound in the fluid-saturated elastic porous medium and closed-form solution in the form of an infinite series is developed. A numerical example for the infinite cylindrical surface excited in vibrational modes of zeroth and first order while immersed in a water-filled cavity embedded within a water-saturated Ridgefield Sandstone environment is presented and several limiting cases are examined. Effects of axial and radial vibration frequencies, porosity, frame stiffness, and interface permeability condition on stress distribution at the borehole surface are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Seismic isolation effect of lined circular tunnels with damping treatments   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The Havriliak-Negami model for dynamic viscoelastic material behavior and Biot's theory of poroelasticity are employed to develop an exact solution for three-dimensional scattering effect of harmonic plane P-SV waves from a circular cavity lined with a multilayered fluid-filled shell of infinite length containing viscoelastic damping materials and embedded within a fluid-saturated permeable surrounding soil medium. The analytical results are illustrated with numerical examples where the effects of liner/coating structural arrangement, viscoelastic material properties, liner-soil interface bonding condition, seismic excitation frequency, and angle of incidence on the induced dynamic stress concentrations are evaluated and discussed to obtain representative values of the parameters that characterize the system. It is demonstrated that incorporating viscoelastic damping materials with a low shear modulus in the constrained layer configuration is an efficient means of enhancing the overall seismic isolation performance, especially for near-normally incident seismic shear waves where the amplitudes of induced dynamic stresses may be reduced by up to one-third of those without isolation in a relatively wide frequency range. Some additional cases are considered and good agreements with solutions available in the literature are obtained.  相似文献

An exact analysis for two-dimensional dynamic interaction of monochromatic progressive plane compressional and shear seismic waves with a permeable circular tunnel lining of circumferentially varying wall thickness buried in a boundless porous elastic fluid-saturated formation is presented. The novel features of Biot dynamic theory of poroelasticity in conjunction with the translational addition theorems for cylindrical wave functions, along with the appropriate wave field expansions and the pertinent boundary conditions are employed to develop a closed-form solution in form of infinite series. The analytical results are illustrated with numerical examples in which an air-filled and water-saturated permeable tunnel lining of variable wall thickness, embedded within water-saturated surrounding formations of distinct frame properties (soft, stiff, and stiff viscoelastic soil), is insonified by fast compressional or shear waves at selected angles of incidence. The effects of liner eccentricity, interface permeability, formation material type, incident wave frequency, and angle of incidence on the hoop stress amplitude are evaluated and discussed for representative values of the parameters characterizing the system. Limiting cases are considered and good agreements with the solutions available in the literature are obtained.  相似文献
