A high resolution numerical sonagram of Pc-1 magnetic record has shown that single narrow lines of Pc-1 spectra produce lower frequency (“red-shifted”) satellite lines more than twice as often as their higher frequency (“violet”) counterparts. The violet satellites usually emerge only when at least two ancestor lines are present simultaneously.  相似文献

We analyse long-lasting (several hours) Pc1 pearl pulsations with decreasing, increasing or constant central frequencies. We show that nonstationary pearl events (those with either decreasing or increasing central frequency) are observed simultaneously with increasing auroral magnetic activity at the nightside magnetosphere while the stationary events (constant central frequency) correspond to quiet magnetic conditions. Events with decreasing central frequency are observed mostly in the late morning and daytime whereas events with increasing central frequency appear either early in the morning or in the afternoon. We explain the diurnal distribution of the nonstationary pearl pulsations in terms of proton drifts depending on magnetic activity, and evaluate the magnetospheric electric field based on the variation of the central frequency of pearl pulsations.  相似文献

We investigate analytically and numerically a nonlinear modification of the magnetospheric plasma density under the action of the ponderomotive force induced by ULF traveling waves, using the nonlinear stationary force balance equation. This equation is applied to both the dipole and dayside magnetosphere having one and two minima of the geomagnetic field near the magnetospheric boundary. The separate and joint actions of the ponderomotive, centrifugal, and gravitational forces on the density distribution are shown.  相似文献

Nonlinear properties of the Pc1 geomagnetic pulsations with anomalous (magnetosonic) dynamic spectrum are studied. The nonlinear properties of the waves are reflected in the emergence of ponderomotive force proportional to the squared amplitude of the waves. Just as in the case of the Alfven waves, at small values of parameter ν0 = ω/ωci0 < 0.4 (ratio of the carrier frequency to proton gyrofrequency in the equatorial plane), the ponderomotive force leads to the modification of the background plasma through increasing its density towards the equator. At ν0 > 0.4, plasma is expelled from the equator towards the higher latitudes. The dependence of the nonlinear modification of background plasma for the different parameters of the magnetosphere is studied.  相似文献

Summary A method of numerical simulation of the coefficient of reflection of the ionospheric transition layer as a function of frequency is applied to the experimental data related to several series of pearl-type pulsations Pc1 (f = 0.2 – 2 Hz) recorded at the observatories of Kerguelen, Sogra and Nurmijarvi. The inverse problem of modelling, i.e. determining the vertical profiles of ionospheric electron concentration corresponding to the actual experimental situations, was solved approximately. The initial assumption for interpreting the specific nature of the series of Pc1 micropulsations parallel in time was their resonance origin under reflection of the signal at magnetically conjugate ionospheres, Alfvén's resonators, in both of the Earth's hemispheres.  相似文献

The Oil Reserves-to-Production Ratio and Its Proper Interpretation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper describes several factors which control the magnitude of Reserves-to-Production (R/P) ratio, the necessity of preliminary analysis of them and the proper interpretation of this ratio, as it applies to different conditions and countries. It also describes the importance to characterize the ability of reserves to provide the increased oil production (or keeping its level stable) and consider it a main criterion of its quality and sufficiency. The deterioration in the quality of reserves because a definite point of the exploratory degree of the petroliferous basins and during the oil-field production period is a permanent factor, which has to be taken into account. All else aside it leads to the formal increase of the R/P ratio without an ability for production growth. The careful analysis of probable and possible reserves can help determine successful ways for replenishment of the proved reserves and increased oil production.  相似文献

The ionospheric Alfvén resonator (IAR) was numerically simulated under non-stationary ionospheric and magnetospheric conditions of the IPDP event of December 4, 1986. The full numerical wave method was applied using height profiles of the ionospheric plasma parameters obtained from the Scandinavian EISCAT radar measurements close to the Ivalo latitude. An attempt to model the inverse problem of numerical simulation—prolongation of the electron density profiles at altitudes above the ionospheric F layer—was made on the basis of the IAR simulation in correlation with the IPDP frequency increase. The change of the IAR wave characteristics during the substorm was illustrated by height profiles of the total wave amplitude and various polarization characteristics, taking into consideration the ordinary L-mode and the extraordinary R-mode waves for parallel and non-parallel incidence with respect to the magnetic field line.  相似文献

We derive the expression for the ponderomotive force in the real multicomponent magnetospheric plasma containing heavy ions. The ponderomotive force considered includes the induced magnetic moment of all the species and arises due to inhomogeneity of the traveling low-frequency electromagnetic wave amplitude in the nonuniform medium. The nonlinear stationary force balance equation is obtained taking into account the gravitational and centrifugal forces for the plasma consisting of the electrons, protons and heavy ions (He+). The background geomagnetic field is taken for the dayside of the magnetosphere, where the magnetic field have magnetic “holes” (Antonova and Shabansky in Geomagn. Aeron. 8:639, 1968). The balance equation is solved numerically to obtain the nonlinear density distribution of ions (H+) in the presence of heavy ions (He+). It is shown that for frequencies less than the helium gyrofrequency at the equator the nonlinear plasma density perturbations are peaked in the vicinity of the equator due to the action of the ponderomotive force. A comparison of the cases of the dipole and dayside magnetosphere is provided. It is obtained that the presence of heavy ions leads to decrease of the proton density modification.  相似文献
