Monitoring of the following hydrological processes was carried out: breakup in the mouth areas of rivers in the northern European Russia, the propagation of the spring flood wave and inundation in the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain and the Volga delta, a catastrophic flood in the Terek mouth area, and ice phenomena in the Volga mouth area and in the northern Caspian Sea. The regularities of changes in the parameters of the hydrological regime of the Lower Volga are considered using data of routine observations at gaging stations and data of field studies carried out by the specialists of Zubov State Oceanographic Institute in 2006–2017. The main modern trends are revealed for runoff and water level, water temperature, and ice phenomena as well as for the duration of flooding of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain during the spring flood. The parameters are compared for natural and regulated Volga River runoff conditions. It is shown that considerable variation in the duration of flooding of floodplains, in water temperature, and heat flow during the spring flood under modern conditions is caused both by runoff operation and by increase in the anthropogenic load on the area of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain in the recent decades.  相似文献

The principal factors that control the character of deformation variations in water level in mouth areas of rivers are considered. The role of wind regime and the sea level variations in the formation of positive and negative setups is assessed. River mouth zones are classified in terms of the predominance of positive or negative variations in water level. Results of field studies conducted in the Terek delta in 2002–2004 are presented. Seasonal vertical deformations of the river bed in the lower course of the main branch (the Novyi Terek) are shown to vary within 0.5–1.3 m; intense development of the delta bar takes place. Regeneration of water streams that died away in the 1980s–1990s, and the formation of a new channel network in the lower part of Terek delta are recorded.  相似文献
