This paper deals with the synthesis of 1,3-dithiocyanato-2-dimethylaminopropane by the reaction of 2, 3-dichloro-1-dimethylaminopropane with sodium thiocyanate in H2O,in polar organic solvents CH3OH and 95% CH3CH2OH, and in the presence of several phase transfer catalysts including quaternary ammomium salts and amines.
