Renewable energy curtailment is a critical issue in China, impeding the country’s transition to clean energy and its ability to meet its climate goals. This paper analyzes the impacts of more flexible coal-fired power generation and improved power dispatch towards reducing wind power curtailment. A unit commitment model for power dispatch is used to conduct the analysis, with different scenarios demonstrating the relative impacts of more flexible coal-fired generation and improved power dispatch. Overall, while we find both options are effective in reducing wind power curtailment, we find that improved power dispatch is more effective: (1) the effect of ramping down coal-fired generators to reduce wind power curtailment lessens as the minimum output of coal-fired generation is decreased; and (2) as a result, at higher wind capacity levels, wind curtailment is much more significantly reduced with improved power dispatch than with decreased minimum output of coal-fired generation.

Key policy insights

  • China should emphasize both coal power flexibility and dispatch in its policies to minimize renewable power curtailment and promote clean energy transition.

  • China should accelerate the process of implementing spot market and marginal cost-based economic dispatch, while making incremental improvements to the existing equal share dispatch in places not ready for spot market.

  • A key step in improving of dispatch is incorporating renewable power forecasts into the unit commitment process and updating the daily unit commitment based on the latest forecast result.

  • China should expand the coal power flexibility retrofit programme and promote the further development of the ancillary service market to encourage more flexibility from coal-fired generation.

Discussion of the future of Europe continues to be a marginal political issue, partly because of the resistance of states, on both the practical (bureaucratic) and conceptual levels, created by the government leaders and heads of state. In turn, the nation-states are challenged from within by independent and separatist movements that have laid bare the fundamental hypocrisy of rhetorical discussions of the principle regarding the self-determination of peoples; interfering with states (and their borders) has proven to be a taboo for Europe. The growing flexibility of the globalised economy should be paralleled by a growing flexibility in the conception of the division and political organisation of territory, but this is not the case. Further inflexibility stems from the socio-economic inequity that we accept in our daily lives as normal, in particular as regards inequality in the use and division of territory. Equality, or better egaliberté (equality and liberty), is a sufficiently dynamic and flexible concept to be taken as a point of reference in envisaging the society, Europe, and world of tomorrow. It is only through the concept of egaliberté that we can imagine a Europe based on relations between regions that are conceived and organised on multiple scales and not as region-nations conceived on the basis of ethnicity or in the name of supposed cultural homogeneity.  相似文献

Fracture system plays a very important role in the enrichment and accumulation of oil and gas in the reservoirs. Based on scattering wave information,Fracture Orientation Function( FOF) was built,which can be used to predict the fracture orientations. However,this method has only been verified by physical experiments without studies on the application scope. In this study,based on the linear sliding theory,FOF of the scattering wave was applied to the numerical simulation and the application scope was further studied according to fracture flexibility tensor. According to the fractures filled with gas and liquid,numerical simulation was conducted on the models with various fracture flexibilities. Numerical simulation results were used to inverse fracture orientation with the aid of the FOF of the scattering wave. The results show that it is workable to predict the vertical fracture orientation with the FOF of the scattering wave. Application of this method is more effective when the fractures are filled with gas than liquid. Moreover,the application scope can be predicted by the fracture flexibility.  相似文献

运用80 t大型三维多功能土工试验机(3DMAS),进行了不同应力幅值比下粗粒土与结构接触面大型三维循环直剪试验,深入分析了应力控制往返椭圆剪切路径下接触面切向位移、非共轴角和剪切柔度等三维力学特性以及应力幅值比的影响规律。应力控制往返椭圆剪切路径下,接触面产生了明显的x向和y向位移、非共轴角和剪切柔度。x向和y向位移幅值、剪切柔度峰值均随循环剪切的进行逐渐减小而后趋于稳定,表现出演化特性。非共轴角受切向应力幅值及切向应力增量方向共同影响,其最值、稳定值随循环周次基本保持不变;正向剪切时非共轴角最大值(最小值)与反向剪切时最小值(最大值)基本出现在同一位置。接触面剪切柔度与非共轴角随旋转角度的变化趋势相反,剪切柔度的增加会抑制非共轴角的发展,反之亦然,两者对立统一。应力幅值比对接触面切向位移间椭圆关系及其时程变化形式、切向应力位移类椭圆关系等影响较小,主要影响切向位移幅值及其偏移程度、切向位移间椭圆关系的长短轴大小及方向、切向应力位移类椭圆关系的长短轴大小、非共轴角的数值及其随旋转角度的变化形式和最值出现位置、剪切柔度随旋转角度的变化形式和峰值及其产生位置等。应力幅值比越大,切向位移幅值越大、向负向偏移越大,剪切柔度峰值越大,随循环剪切的进行减小的速率越慢。应力幅值比ξτ=1和ξτ≠1时接触面非共轴角和剪切柔度随旋转角度的发展变化形式差别很大。  相似文献

为仅利用结构损伤状态的柔度矩阵对结构进行损伤程度识别,先对损伤状态的均匀荷载面曲率曲线进行最小二乘法拟合。根据曲率曲线差判断结构的损伤位置,对损伤位置的点进行剔除后,再利用未损伤位置上的点进行局部最小二乘法拟合,代替损伤前的均匀荷载面曲率曲线,用于结构的损伤定位与定量。通过一简支梁数值算例,先以理论的二次多项式进行拟合,考虑单损伤和多损伤的情况,进行损伤识别分析,再分析多项式次数、测点数目以及不同噪声水平对损伤定量精度的影响。结果表明:在一定范围内,次数越高拟合误差越小,但差别不明显,采用理论的二次多项式拟合即可满足结构损伤识别要求,无噪声的情况下,测点数目减半不影响损伤识别的精度,该方法具有一定的抗噪声能力。  相似文献

为提高梁式结构损伤诊断的效率,提出一种基于类柔度差曲率和频率摄动的结构损伤识别方法。首先根据结构振动理论,研究广义柔度矩阵计算公式;再利用模态柔度对结构损伤灵敏性高的优点,改进基于柔度差曲率的损伤定位指标,定义类柔度差曲率LCFC损伤指标,并初步识别损伤;最后基于矩阵摄动进行结构损伤识别结果确认。考虑多种损伤工况,对一简支梁结构进行损伤识别数值模拟验证。结果表明:仅使用一阶模态,建立的类柔度差曲率LCFC指标对梁式结构损伤定位具有良好的诊断效果,且计算工作量小;对于含边界损伤单元的多损伤工况,当损伤程度大于10%时,LCFC指标识别有效;当损伤程度不大于25%时,各工况二阶摄动识别结果精度较高,相对误差较一阶摄动结果明显降低,证明了该方法的实用性、有效性和精确性。  相似文献

采用改进的Mohr-Coulomb屈服准则(Zienkiewicz-Pande准则), 建立了能描述人工冻土3个阶段蠕变特性的黏弹塑损伤耦合本构模型. 基于该本构模型建立了模型的柔度矩阵, 将本构模型嵌入到ADINA有限元程序中. 计算表明: 数值模拟得到的人工冻土蠕变特性曲线与实测值吻合良好, 最大误差为4.8%, 说明基于改进的Mohr-Coulomb准则建立的黏弹塑损伤耦合本构模型能够准确的描述人工冻土剪切特性和3个阶段的蠕变特性.获得的本构模型具有参数少、容易确定等优点. 深部人工冻土黏弹塑损伤耦合本构模型的建立, 对于人工冻土结构物长期稳定分析和预测具有重大的理论指导意义.  相似文献

对损伤部位向量(DLV)法作了简单介绍,并用该方法对钢框架进行了损伤识别和损伤定位。该方法假定结构损伤前后为线性,对结构损伤前后柔度矩阵差进行奇异值分解,将奇异值为零所对应的向量,作为静荷载施加在无损结构的测点位置,则应力为零的单元为可能损伤的单元。对3种不同工况的钢框架进行了振动模态试验,用前3阶模态参数构造框架的柔度矩阵,按照DLV法对其进行了损伤识别,识别结果与已知损伤情况相一致。从测试自由度不完备、噪声和振型质量归一化系数这3个方面对识别效果进行了分析,结果表明:当损伤使结构动力特性有微小改变时,使用该方法不易定位损伤,应结合局部损伤识别方法进行判定;当损伤使结构动力特性有较大改变时,该方法能有效识别损伤的单元。DLV方法概念简单,理论明确,不受结构类型的限制,不需要结构的数学模型和模型缩聚或扩展技术,只需获得结构损伤前后的前几个低阶模态参数,即可识别结构一处或多处损伤,实际应用时可操作性强。  相似文献

通勤是居民出行行为的重要组成部分,受到地理、规划、交通等领域的广泛关注,已有对通勤的研究多利用问卷调查数据,定位技术与信息通信技术为个体行为时空数据的采集带来了新的契机。本研究关注个体在不同工作日中通勤的可变性,将活动弹性的概念引入对通勤行为的研究中,提出通勤弹性的概念,并界定了时间、空间、方式、路径4 个通勤弹性维度,通过探讨4 种弹性之间的相互作用关系,提出7 种基于弹性的理论通勤模式。研究以北京市天通苑与亦庄两个郊区巨型社区为案例,基于活动日志与GPS 定位数据相结合的为期一周的居民时空行为数据,分别利用传统方法和通勤弹性视角研究居民的通勤特征,验证通勤弹性现象的存在以及该视角透视城市居民通勤行为的合理性,并利用GIS 三维可视化技术对7 种理论通勤模式居民的活动—移动时空特征进行刻画,从而透视北京市郊区巨型社区居民的通勤特征及复杂模式,为北京市城市与交通问题的解决提供了独特的视角。  相似文献

Base isolated buildings subjected to extreme earthquakes can exceed their design displacements and impact against the surrounding moat wall. To better understand the consequences of impact on the superstructure, an impact element considering moat wall flexibility is proposed based on impact theory and observations during experimental simulations. It is demonstrated that numerical simulations using the proposed impact element can capture the dominant characteristics of the contact force observed in experiments of base isolated buildings impacting various moat wall configurations including concrete walls with soil backfill and rigid steel walls. The contact force is dependent on impact velocity, geometry, and material properties at the contact surface, and the global dynamic characteristic of the moat wall. Properties of the moat wall impact element are derived based on mechanics‐based models considering material properties and geometric measurements of the experimental setup. For this purpose, the moat wall is modeled as a flexural column with a concentrated nonlinear hinge at its base and soil backfill considered through a damped elastic foundation then generalized into a single degree of freedom system. The resulting impact element is shown to accurately capture both local deformation and the vibration aspects of impact observed in experiments and the effects of impact on superstructure response.
