| Abstract: | The paper deals with the trend in study of petrology in the l990s.It comes toa conclusion that petrology has become an integral part of Earth material science,implyingthat petrology will more and n1ore hybridize with the other branches of geosciences;thedevelopment of petrology has been closely being related to the two themes of the Earth sci-ences,i.e.,the Earth’s dynamics and global change,which strongly affect on the re-search fields and the major direction in study of petrology in the l990s. |
