The preferred depth of settlement and settlement period of two species of mussel spat were monitored at Yncyca Bay (NZMS1 S15 220460) and Wet Inlet (NZMS1 S16 265432) in the Marlborough Sounds on collectors suspended in 0–4 m of water between 20 October 1975 and 4 April 1976. Peak settlement of Mytilus edulis aoteanus was between 20 October 1975 and 4 January 1976, and decreased with increasing depth. Peak settlement of Perna canaliculus was between 16 February 1976 and 12 April 1976, and showed no preferred depth of settlement. Capture of wild stocks of Mytilus edulis aoteanus and Perna canaliculus spat for use in aquaculture has become more reliable through accurate forecasting of peak settlement periods, and knowledge of preferred depth of settlement of the two species. Preferred depth of settlement of spat may affect the shore zonation of mussels. 相似文献

Dietary composition in Astrostole scabra was ascertained by regular sampling at four geographically separated locations on the Kaikoura coast between January 1976 and January 1977. A. scabra is a food generalist and scavenger with a diet composed mainly of molluscs and crustaceans belonging to more than 60 genera. The diet was dominated numerically by chitons and trochid molluscs. Several site‐specific differences in dietary composition were apparent. Only Ischnochiton maorianus was a numerically important prey species at all study sites. Dietary diversity and evenness were more or less constant and comparable both seasonally and geographically. The proportion of intertidal seastars feeding fluctuated during the study from a peak of 42% in January to 23.7% in June 1976. Prey species were consumed in proportions independent of their abundance. In the laboratory, A. scabra, free of ingestive conditioning, discriminated between different prey species and preferentially consumed I. maorianus. There were strong prey preferences at the specific, but not at the familial, level. 相似文献

Seasonal changes in species composition and abundance of zooplankton in Lake Taupo were measured at three sites each month from August 1974 to January 1976. The normalised data showed no differences in abundance between sites. Crustaceans comprised 50.3% and rotifers 49.7% of the zooplankton. Boeckella propinqua was the most prominent crustacean especially in spring and early summer, whereas the rotifers, dominated by Polyarthra vulgaris and Conochilus coenobasis, appeared in late summer, autumn, and winter. 相似文献

长期以来,中国海倒颚蟹属仅记录一种,即渤、黄、东海底栖动物常见种异足倒颚蟹AsthenognathusinaequipesStimpson,1858。作者对中国科学院海洋生物标本馆收藏的采自中国海的全部倒颚蟹属标本进行系统研究后共发现除该种外还有以下2种,为中国海的新记录:宽身倒颚蟹AsthenognathusgallardoiSer埁neandSoh,1976和六角倒颚蟹AsthenognathushexagonumRath-bun,1909,均采自南海北部。异足倒颚蟹为中国北方和东部海域常见种,但未见于南海。六角倒颚蟹与异足倒颚蟹形态上较相似。两者差异在于六角倒颚蟹头胸甲六角形,后缘约与额-眼眶缘等宽,背面有2对凹陷,后侧缘有2条颗粒脊,而异足倒颚蟹头胸甲后缘约为额-眼眶缘宽的1.5倍,背面仅有浅横沟。宽身倒颚蟹与其他两种形态差异较大,头胸甲宽约为长的1.9倍。 相似文献

Marine investigations were carried out in the western Central Equatorial Pacific region from 1976 to 1979 by three Chinese research vessels "Xiangyanghong 05", "Xiangyanghong 09" and "Shijian" belonging to the National Bureau of Oceanography. The data of currents, surface wind, drift of the ship, temperature, salinity, and so on, were obtained during the investigations, which provides more reliable basis for further studies on the South Equatorial Countercurrent in the Pacific Ocean. A new species, Nassarius (Zeuxis) humeratus n. sp. of Nassariidae was described based on the specimens collected in the Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea) and Bohai Sea during the expedition from 1958 to 1959. The new species was distinguished from similar species Nassarius (Zeuxis) bolangoi (Ladd, 1976) and Nassarius (Varicinassa) variciferus (A. Adams, 1852) in shell characteristics. Some relative discussion was provided. The new species mainly distributes in the subtidal zone of 30-53 m depth, in muddy and sandy bottom in the Bohai Sea and northern Huanghai Sea. 相似文献

Based on the data of the Jiaozbou Bay Ecosystem Dynamic Research,cell volume and surface area of 87 common phytoplankton species in China sea waters were calculated with assignment of the similar geometric form.The cell plasma volume,live weight,carbon mntent and nitrogen content were also calculated with the methods of Mullin et al.(1966),5trathmann(1967),Eppley et al.(1970),arid Taguchi(1976).After comparing these methods,we chose the method of Eppley et al.(1970) as the best method for calculating phytoplankton carbon content in China sea waters. 相似文献
