How time flies!It has been the tenth anniversary since AMS started publishing in 1987.AMS(English edition) is an international academic journal in atmospheric sciences edited by the Chinese Meteorological Society.During this period,ten volumes of AMS(41 Nos.,about 500 articles) were published,including three special issues:on climate,on atmospheric signals & remote sensing physics, and on tropical circulation & LFO. Most of these papers in AMS are from Chinese meteorologists. Our foreign colleagues are able to delve deeper into what is going on in the field of atmospheric sciences in China. 相似文献

2006年5月6日我国旅美著名学者郭晓岚因病在芝加哥逝世,享年91岁。文中简要介绍郭晓岚的生平,并根据收集到的郭先生70多篇重要论文,总结了他数十年来在大气科学领域辛勤耕耘的成果。介绍了他对大气动力学中的不稳定理论、大气环流形成和大尺度热力环流理论、中尺度对流动力学和涡旋动力学理论以及低纬和热带动力学理论等方面的引导性和创新性贡献,还介绍了他的模式物理过程参数化方案以及青藏高原等大地形动力和热力作用对天气气候影响的数值模拟结果。从该文可以看出郭先生对大气科学研究和教育所作出的杰出贡献。他是我们后辈学习的楷模。 相似文献

Summary For 20 years the biennial symposia organized by the International Society for Acoustic Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere and Oceans and Associated Techniques (ISARS) have been held in different countries. The original papers collected in the proceedings of the symposia reflect the development of ideas, equipment, and methods, plus results obtained in the area. The spectrum of themes discussed at the symposia is broad. More than 60% of the papers were devoted to the role of sodars in atmospheric boundary-layer research. This paper presents an overview of the development of sodar technique as elucidated in the proceedings of 11 ISARS symposia. Topics include (1) instrumentation, (2) methods of measuring different meteorological quantities and their turbulence characteristics, and (3) validating the methods by comparison of sodar data with in situ measurements. 相似文献

China’s recently announced directive on tackling climate change, namely, to reach carbon peak by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, has led to an unprecedented nationwide response among the academia and industry. Under such a directive, a rapid increase in the grid penetration rate of solar in the near future can be fully anticipated. Although solar radiation is an atmospheric process, its utilization, as to produce electricity, has hitherto been handled by engineers. In that, it is thought important to bridge the two fields, atmospheric sciences and solar engineering, for the common good of carbon neutrality. In this überreview, all major aspects pertaining to solar resource assessment and forecasting are discussed in brief. Given the size of the topic at hand, instead of presenting technical details, which would be overly lengthy and repetitive, the overarching goal of this review is to comprehensively compile a catalog of some recent, and some not so recent, review papers, so that the interested readers can explore the details on their own. 相似文献
