Existing sensor network query processors (SNQPs) have demonstrated that in-network processing is an effective and efficient means of interacting with wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for data collection tasks. Inspired by these findings, this article investigates the question as to whether spatial analysis over WSNs can be built upon established distributed query processing techniques, but, here, emphasis is on the spatial aspects of sensed data, which are not adequately addressed in the existing SNQPs. By spatial analysis, we mean the ability to detect topological relationships between spatially referenced entities (e.g. whether mist intersects a vineyard or is disjoint from it) and to derive representations grounded on such relationships (e.g. the geometrical extent of that part of a vineyard that is covered by mist). To support the efficient representation, querying and manipulation of spatial data, we use an algebraic approach. We revisit a previously proposed centralized spatial algebra comprising a set of spatial data types and a comprehensive collection of operations. We have redefined and re-conceptualized the algebra for distributed evaluation and shown that it can be efficiently implemented for in-network execution. This article provides rigorous, formal definitions of the spatial data types, points, lines and regions, together with spatial-valued and topological operations over them. The article shows how the algebra can be used to characterize complex and expressive topological relationships between spatial entities and spatial phenomena that, due to their dynamic, evolving nature, cannot be represented a priori.  相似文献

社会统计数据的空间化是当前地理科学和社会科学共同研究的热点问题之一,根据社会统计数据的特点可以将其分为和值(extensive)变量型统计数据和均值(intensive)变量型统计数据两种类型.分析了这两类社会统计数据在区域拆分与合并时的特点,并尝试将网格单元面积权重内插(GCAWI)法引入社会统计数据的空间化的工作中,提出了确定网格单元大小的原则和采用图像平滑技术改进空问化结果的方法.以徐州市人均GDP数据(均值变量型统计数据)空间化为研究实例,采用网格单元面积权重内插法实现了徐州市人均GDP数据的空间化,而且运用图像平滑技术得到了比较满意的结果.  相似文献

Geospatial data and tools are key in locating lost or missing persons in as short a time as possible. In this study, we used a geographic information system (GIS) to analyze four years of search and rescue (SAR) mission data from Colorado to determine the appropriate use of GIS for volunteer-based SAR organizations with limited resources and GIS expertise. GIS can provide more sophisticated analyses of geospatial data than simple mapping technologies, but our findings indicated that complex spatial analysis might not be required on all missions, because the majority of missions were completed within six to ten hours. Instead, new technologies such as tablets with mapping software and online GIS systems that provide quick and easy access to up-to-date geospatial data such as imagery offer capabilities that could improve mission planning. Here we provide a framework in which SAR missions can apply geospatial technologies to aid with missions, identify critical “hotspots,” and enhance postanalysis and training. The work here is highly applicable for nonprofit SAR groups when deciding on what GIS technologies to consider for their areas.  相似文献

本文在对历次极地考察所获得的极地测绘空间数据进行整理、分类的基础上,参考国际标准化组织(ISO/TC211)元数据标准、美国联邦地理数据委员会(FGDC)的CSDGM以及中国可持续发展信息共享元数据标准,制定了能够描述中国极地测绘空间数据的元数据标准,基于此设计并实现了中国极地测绘空间数据元数据管理系统。在网络环境下实现了对元数据的浏览、新增、编辑、查询以及网上发布,从而更好地服务于极地科学考察。  相似文献

A fractal can be simply understood as a set or pattern in which there are far more small things than large ones, for example, far more small geographic features than large ones on the earth surface, or far more large-scale maps than small-scale maps for a geographic region. This article attempts to argue and provide evidence for the fractal nature of maps and mapping. It is the underlying fractal structure of geographic features, either natural or man-made, that make reality mappable, large-scale maps generalizable, and cities imageable. The fractal nature is also what underlies the beauty of maps. After introducing some key fractal concepts such as recursion, self-similarity, scaling ratio, and scaling exponent, this article demonstrates that fractal thought is rooted in long-standing map-making practices such as series maps subdivision, visual hierarchy, and Töpfer’s radical law. Drawing on previous studies on head/tail breaks, mapping can be considered a head/tail breaks process; that is to divide things around an average, according to their geometric, topological and/or semantic properties, into the head (for those above the average) and the tail (for those below the average), and recursively continue the dividing process for the head for map generalization, statistical mapping, and cognitive mapping. Given the fractal nature of maps and mapping, cartography should be considered a perfect combination of science and art, and scaling must be formulated as a law of cartography or that of geography in general.  相似文献

准确刻画精细化尺度下的城市房租空间格局,对于研究城市居住行为、提高城市规划合理性十分重要。文章提出了一种基于互联网房租数据作为可靠数据源的城市房租空间格局制图方法。以深圳市作为研究区,通过广泛采集开放平台中用户发布的租房信息,绘制社区行政区尺度的房租空间分布图。房租空间制图涉及到对于没有样本数据区域平均房租的评估,因此,选取一系列与房租相关的房产属性、房屋区位及配套设施的评价指标,采用前馈神经网络技术构建评估模型。以2015年深圳市的住宅租赁市场作为研究对象,通过对结果的分析,以及与权威部门发布的统计数据进行比较,表明此方法能够有效地绘制社区尺度下城市房租的空间分布,模型预测结果的误差(%RMSE)为13.87%。所使用的互联网房租数据、POIs数据及前馈神经网络的建模工具均是开源的,而且所提出的方法论具有普适性,能够应用于其他研究区的房租空间格局制图,具有实践意义。  相似文献

Fire history studies have traditionally emphasized temporal rather than spatial properties of paleo‐fire regimes. In this study we compare four methods of mapping paleo‐fires in central Washington from binary point data: indicator kriging, inverse distance weighting, Thiessen polygons, and an expert approach. We evaluate the results of each mapping method using a test (validation) dataset and receiver operating characteristic plots. Interpolation methods perform well, but results vary with fire size and spatial pattern of points. Though all methods involve some subjectivity, automated interpolation methods perform well, are replicable, and can be applied across varying landscapes.  相似文献

Estimating the number of deposits likely to be found and their size distribution is important in exploration planning. In a frontier basin the geologic information for conducting a resource assessment is mostly limited to the regional level. Some methods, such as the play analysis approach (Crovelli and Balay, 1986) and the conceptual play model (Lee and Wang, 1983), can be used in conceptual plays or frontier basins, but these methods require the knowledge of the number of prospects, pool data characterizing the conditional field size distribution, and information documenting the exploration risk. For unexplored sedimentary basins, such as those in southern Africa, there are neither sufficient data covering reservoir volumetric parameters nor a number of mapped prospects that can be used to conduct such an assessment. In such a case a volumetric method using geologic analogy is applicable, by which a point estimate of hydrocarbon potential can be estimated, but this estimate provides no information on the likely size distribution. As a complement to the volumetric method, we discuss how to use the empirical Pareto law for estimating the number of fields and their size distribution in such a frontier region.  相似文献

本文基于进出口贸易数据和商品门类数据,对2003年以来东亚地区制造业贸易网络及其生产过程进行研究。首先,由进出口贸易网络可知,无论是劳动密集型还是资本(技术)密集型产品,中国的参与程度均高于周边国家;随着各国经济的发展,东南亚国家也逐渐参与生产网络分工,不断加强同周边国家的贸易经济联系。其次,从产品的生产过程来看,早期“三角贸易”的现象较为明显,尤其是技术含量较高的,以汽车制造业为主的陆上交通工具,但是近年来随着周边国家参与度的提升该模式逐渐在削弱。最后,东亚边缘国家对大国的依赖性比较强,特别是资本(技术)密集型产业,同时小范围区域内的联系在不断加强,如泰国、马来西亚等新兴国家。  相似文献

Developing approaches to automate the analysis of the massive amounts of data sent back from the Moon will generate significant benefits for the field of lunar geomorphology. In this paper, we outline an automated method for mapping lunar landforms that is based on digital terrain analysis. An iterative self-organizing (ISO) cluster unsupervised classification enables the automatic mapping of landforms via a series of input raster bands that utilize six geomorphometric parameters. These parameters divide landforms into a number of spatially extended, topographically homogeneous segments that exhibit similar terrain attributes and neighborhood properties. To illustrate the applicability of our approach, we apply it to three representative test sites on the Moon, automatically presenting our results as a thematic landform map. We also quantitatively evaluated this approach using a series of confusion matrices, achieving overall accuracies as high as 83.34% and Kappa coefficients (K) as high as 0.77. An immediate version of our algorithm can also be applied for automatically mapping large-scale lunar landforms and for the quantitative comparison of lunar surface morphologies.  相似文献

It is widely known that intensive land use generally decreases stream water quality, but the influence of watershed physiography is relatively poorly understood. Since management planning has to take into account the protection of water quality, the current status of stream water must be identified. The potential effects of land use and watershed physiography variables on water quality were studied in an extensive set of 83 watersheds in the Helsinki region, Finland, covering wide land‐use intensity gradient. The aims of this study were to test if the geographical information of watershed land‐use data can be used to model the stream water quality, and to examine whether the spatial water quality models are improved after including predictors of watershed physiography to the land‐use model. Water quality variables were related to watershed predictors by utilizing generalized additive models and linear mixed models, and the independent effect of the variables was investigated using a hierarchical partitioning approach. While land use turned out to be the most influential factor explaining water quality, all models improved significantly after incorporating the watershed characteristics, such as topography and soil. These results were consistent across three modelling techniques. This study, with its novel approach to examine the impacts of several watershed physiographic characteristics on urban stream water quality in northern Europe, demonstrates that spatial land use and watershed physiography data can be used as cost‐efficient predictors in stream water quality models.  相似文献

应用GIS数据管理与分析技术、TOPSIS综合评价方法,紧扣土地利用集约性的内涵,以城市市辖区为评价单元,从城市规模和土地利用程度,土地投入程度、土地利用效率、以及土地集约利用发展趋势等诸多层次,对北京、上海等18个大城市市辖区的土地利用集约性进行综合评判,得出以下结论:大城市的集约度都在逐年提高,土地利用将更加集约;我国大城市土地利用的集约性,存在较大的地域差异。评价结果表明,青岛、宁波等国家单列城市,规模适中,土地集约性反而很高;上海和武汉的集约度一直处于前三位,其他直辖市和省会等特大城市波动性较大,土地集约性利用还有很大潜力可挖;与上海、宁波、青岛等东部城市相比,太原、石家庄、西安等中部城市,土地利用集约度一直很低,潜力大、亟待提高。此评价方法与评价指标,以及所获得的评价结果,较好地揭示了行政区划调整对城市集约度的动态性影响。  相似文献

坡位的空间变化通常是渐变的,定量的坡位空间渐变信息对于精细尺度上的坡面土壤侵蚀、预测性土壤制图等应用具有重要意义。现有基于栅格DEM的坡位模糊识别方法,或是仅在属性域内模糊聚类,忽略了空间信息;或是需要繁琐的规则进行模糊分类,实用性受限。本文建立了一种基于相似度的模糊推理方法,根据各类坡位在空间上的典型位置,计算其他位置与典型位置间的相似度,从而对坡位空间渐变信息进行系统、定量的描述。应用表明本方法能够合理地描述山脊、坡肩、背坡、坡脚、沟谷等重要坡位类型的渐变信息,所获得的坡位渐变信息也能够合理地解释土壤样点的A层土壤含砂量随坡位渐变的变化趋势。  相似文献

Comparison of satellite and air photo based landslide susceptibility maps   总被引:4,自引:1,他引:4  
Landslide susceptibility maps can be prepared in a variety of ways. Many geoscientists favour the use of an overlay model approach in which several map layers are combined by some arithmetic rules to determine the potential for sliding in an area or region. The resulting susceptibility maps, although based on a subjective weighting of relevant factors, can often be of high accuracy and utility. In order to obtain the relevant input data for this type of analysis, remotely sensed data are often used. To date, susceptibility mapping, just as the mapping of historic and individual landslides, has tended to require higher-resolution imagery. This has somewhat limited the application of landslide susceptibility mapping. While high-resolution air photo or satellite imagery is superior to lower resolution imagery for the purpose of mapping of historic and individual landslides, such higher levels of resolution may not be required for the development of landslide susceptibility maps. In order to determine if medium-resolution satellite imagery, such as SPOT or ASTER, could provide the needed data for landslide susceptibility mapping, a comparison was undertaken of landslide susceptibility model output resulting from the use of stereo NAPP aerial photography versus the use of data obtained from stereo SPOT imagery. The test area selected for this study consisted of two watersheds, Pena Canyon and Big Rock Canyon, situated west of Santa Monica, California, USA, along the Pacific Coast Highway. Both watersheds have a long and well-documented history of landslide activity and sufficient geologic variability and complexity to provide a good test site. The specific overlay model used in this evaluation required input data consistent with the needs of many other models of this type. The model output derived from the two different data sources and presented here in the form of susceptibility maps were virtually identical. Statistical and difference analysis confirmed that both methods of obtaining input data provide similar results and successfully identified landslide prone areas. These results suggest that satellite imagery, in this instance, SPOT images, could potentially be used in lieu of conventional air photos, to evaluate landslide susceptibility. In many situations, especially in the case of remote locations and/or developing countries, this capability should result in substantial savings in terms of time, financial resources, and overall viability.  相似文献

OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an online public access database that allows for the collaborative collection of local geographic information. We employ this mapping technology to discuss a new social theory of poverty that moves away from income poverty to an economy that directly produces individuals' basic needs. Focusing on urban farming in Philadelphia as an example, we use OSM to support the argument that money, land, labor, and capital do not limit food production in the city. OSM is a type of “commons” that allows community members to depict features of interest to them that might otherwise be underrepresented in official or commercially produced maps such as Google Maps. Using the concept of facilitated volunteered geographic information (VGI) we developed an open framework for combining residents' local knowledge of food resources with expert guidance in data input. We believe this helps overcome problems with ad hoc data submission efforts to which collaborative online projects are susceptible. The program for “tagging” food resources in OSM was deployed in a public “map-a-thon” event we organized in Philadelphia, bringing together technical experts and food enthusiasts. To share the results, we present the Philly Fresh Food Map as an interactive online Web map that can be used and updated by the public.  相似文献

In this paper we examine 2- and 3-way chemometric methods for analysis of Arctic and Antarctic water samples. Standard CTD (conductivity–temperature–depth) sensor devices were used during two oceanographic expeditions (July 2007 in the Arctic; February 2009 in the Antarctic) covering a total of 174 locations. The output from these devices can be arranged in a 3-way data structure (according to sea water depth, measured variables, and geographical location). We used and compared 2- and 3-way statistical tools including PCA, PARAFAC, PLS, and N-PLS for exploratory analysis, spatial patterns discovery and calibration. Particular importance was given to the correlation and possible prediction of fluorescence from other physical variables. MATLAB's mapping toolbox was used for geo-referencing and visualization of the results. We conclude that: 1) PCA and PARAFAC models were able to describe data in a satisfactory way, but PARAFAC results were easier to interpret; 2) applying a 2-way model to 3-way data raises the risk of flattening the covariance structure of the data and losing information; 3) the distinction between Arctic and Antarctic seas was revealed mostly by PC1, relating to the physico-chemical properties of the water samples; and 4) we confirm the ability to predict fluorescence values from physical measurements when the 3-way data structure is used in N-way PLS regression.  相似文献

The calculation of surface area is meaningful for a variety of space-filling phenomena, e.g., the packing of plants or animals within an area of land. With Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data we can calculate the surface area by using a continuous surface model, such as by the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN). However, just as the triangle-based surface area discussed in this paper, the surface area is generally biased because it is a nonlinear mapping about the DEM data which contain measurement errors. To reduce the bias in the surface area, we propose a second-order bias correction by applying nonlinear error propagation to the triangle-based surface area. This process reveals that the random errors in the DEM data result in a bias in the triangle-based surface area while the systematic errors in the DEM data can be reduced by using the height differences. The bias is theoretically given by a probability integral which can be approximated by numerical approaches including the numerical integral and the Monte Carlo method; but these approaches need a theoretical distribution assumption about the DEM measurement errors, and have a very high computational cost. In most cases, we only have variance information on the measurement errors; thus, a bias estimation based on nonlinear error propagation is proposed. Based on the second-order bias estimation proposed, the variance of the surface area can be improved immediately by removing the bias from the original variance estimation. The main results are verified by the Monte Carlo method and by the numerical integral. They show that an unbiased surface area can be obtained by removing the proposed bias estimation from the triangle-based surface area originally calculated from the DEM data.  相似文献
