The volcanic stage of the 2.7-Ga Abitibi greenstone belt, Canada, is dominated by bimodal arc magma series and komatiite-basalt sequences. The latter represents an aerially extensive oceanic plateau erupted from an anomalously hot super-plume. Komatiites define a linear array of Nb/Th vs. Nb/U, extending from Nb/Th=8-20, and Nb/U=26-58, whereas basalts plot on a separate, but overlapping, field extending to higher Th/U but lower Nb/Th values. Inter-element ratios of Th, U, Nb, and LREE of komatiites and basalts plot with Phanerozoic and modern ocean plateau basalts. Th, U, Nb, and LREE are fractionated in subduction zones into low Nb/Th, Nb/U, and Nb/LREE arc crust, and complementary high Nb/Th, Nb/U, and Nb/LREE residual slab. Accordingly, the Archean komatiite-basalt association may be explained by a plume that likely originated from the core-mantle boundary with komatiites erupted from a hot axis containing recycled oceanic crust, and basalts erupted from the plume annulus that entrained upper mantle containing recycled oceanic and continental crust. High Nb/Th and Nb/U of plume-related volcanic sequences documented in Abitibi, Yilgarn, and Baltic Archean greenstone belts suggest that the extraction and recycling of continental crust may have occurred early in the Archean.  相似文献

The Onega plateau constitutes part of a vast continental flood basalt province in the SE Baltic Shield. It consists of Jatulian-Ludikovian submarine volcanic, volcaniclastic and sedimentary sequences attaining in places 4.5?km in thickness. The parental magmas of the lavas contained ~10% MgO and were derived from melts generated in the garnet stability field at depths 80–100?km. The Sm-Nd mineral and Pb-Pb whole-rock isochron ages of 1975?±?24 and 1980?±?57 Ma for the upper part of the plateau and a SHRIMP U-Pb zircon age of 1976?±?9 Ma for its lower part imply the formation of the entire sequence within a short time span. These ages coincide with those of picrites in the Pechenga-Imandra belt (the Kola Peninsula) and komatiites and basalts in the Karasjok-Kittilä belt (Norway and Finnmark). Together with lithostratigraphic, chemical and isotope evidence, these ages suggest the derivation of the three provinces from a single large (~2000?km in diameter) mantle plume. These plume-generated magmas covered ~600,000?km2 of the Baltic Shield and represent a major contribution of juvenile material to the existing continental crust at 2.0 Ga. The uppermost Onega plateau lavas have high (Nb/Th)N?=?1.4–2.4, (Nb/La)N= 1.1–1.3, positive ?Nd(T) of +3.2 and unradiogenic Pb-isotope composition (μ1?= 8.57), comparable with those of modern oceanic plume-derived magmas (oceanic flood basalt and ocean island basalt). These parameters are regarded as source characteristics. The lower sequences have (Nb/Th)N= 0.58–1.2, (Nb/La)N= 0.52–0.88 and ?Nd(T) =?2.6. They have experienced mixing with 10–30% of continental crust and resemble contaminated lavas from other continental flood basalt provinces. The estimated Nb/U ratios of 53?±?4 in the uncontaminated rocks are similar to those found in the modern mantle (~47) suggesting that by 2.0 Ga a volume of continental crust similar to the present-day value already existed.  相似文献

A group of εNd/Nb,Ba/Nb,Nb/Th diagrams are used to study mantle heterogeneity.Island-arc basalts(IAB) are distributed in a triangle of these diagrams. Three end-member components (the MORB-type depleted mantle, the fluid released from subducted oceanic crust and the sediments from the continental crust) of the source of IAB may be displayed in these diagrams. Two types of IAB are identified .They are of the two-component type (with little continental sediments), such as the basalts from Aletians and New Britain ,and the three-compeonent type, such as those from Sunda, Lesser Antilles and Andes. In addition ,the EMII type mantle-derived rocks may also be divided into two groups. One is exemplified by continental flood basalts and some peridotite xenoliths, similar to IAB, with high La/Nb and Ba/Nb and low Nb/Th ratios, The other includes the Samoa-type oceanic island basalts, with low La/Nb and Ba/Nb and high Nb/Th ratios. The corresponding two sub-components of EMII are EMIIM, which is related to the metasomatism of lithosphere mantle by fluids released from the subducted oceanic crust, and EMIISR, related to the intervention of recycling continental sediments into the convective mantle.  相似文献

本文对在峨眉山玄武岩省中新发现的苦橄质岩石及其共生玄武岩的地球化学特征进行了研究,结果表明,除苦橄质岩石外,与其共生的玄武质岩石均属高Ti玄武岩。其主要元素特征与大多数大陆溢流玄武岩省相似,表现为高Fe_8、(CaO/Al_2O_3)_8和低Na_8,指示其形成压力高;其稀土和微量元素配分曲线相似,表现为轻稀土富集、高场强元素(HFSE)相对亏损,并且不存在Nb、Ta的负异常,而存在P和K的相对亏损。一些反映源区特征的比值,如La/Ta、La/Sm、(La/Nb)_(PM)、(Th/Ta)_(PM),Ta/Hf,Nb/Zr等,变化范围小,均指示了其地幔柱成因,且上升过程中很少或没有受到岩石圈地幔或地壳物质的混染,是石榴子石二辉橄榄岩在>75km时经大约7%的部分熔融的产物。而地幔柱的轴部位置可能位于现今云南丽江县城一带。  相似文献

A comparison of geochemical and Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic compositions for Deccan Continental Flood Basalts (CFBs) and Central Indian Ridge (CIR) Basalts is presented: these data permit assessment of possible parental linkages between the two regions, and comparison of their respective magmatic evolutionary trends in relation to rift-related tectonic events during Gondwana break-up. The present study reveals that Mid-Ocean Ridge Basalt (MORB) from the northern CIR and basalts of Deccan CFB are geochemically dissimilar because of: (1) the Deccan CFB basalts typically show a greater iron-enrichment as compared to the northern CIR MORB, (2) a multi-element spiderdiagram reveals that the Deccan CFBs reveal a more fractionated slope (Ba/YbN > 1), as compared to relatively flat northern CIR MORB (Ba/YbN < 1), (3) there is greater REE fractionation for Deccan CFB than for the northern CIR MORB (i.e., La/YbN  2.3 and 1 respectively) and (4) substantial variation of compatible–incompatible trace elements and their ratios among the two basalt groups suggests that partial melting is a dominant process for northern CIR MORB, while fractional crystallization was a more important control to the geochemical variation for Deccan CFB. Further, incompatible trace element ratios (Nb/U and Nb/Pb) and radiogenic isotopic data (Sr–Pb–Nd) indicate that the northern CIR MORBs are similar to depleted mantle [and/or normal (N)-MORB], and often lie on a mixing line between depleted mantle and upper continental crust. By contrast, Deccan CFB compositions lie between the lower continental crust and Ocean island basalt. Accordingly, we conclude that the basaltic suites of the northern CIR MORB and Deccan CFB do not share common parentage, and are therefore genetically unrelated to each other. Instead, we infer that the northern CIR MORB were derived from a depleted mantle source contaminated by upper continental crust, probably during the break up of Gondwanaland; the Deccan CFB are more similar to Ocean island basalt (Reunion-like) composition, and perhaps contaminated by lower continental crust during their evolution.  相似文献

峨眉山大火成岩省(ELIP)主要由玄武岩、玄武质火山碎屑岩及少量的苦橄岩(包括越南的科马提岩)、长英质岩石以及层状岩体和岩墙组成,其物质来源直接关系到其成因是否与地幔柱活动有关。Re-Os同位素体系是地核、地幔和地壳物质的最佳示踪剂。前人对ELIP内的Re-Os同位素研究表明,低Ti玄武岩的Os含量为0.006&#215;10^-9-0.40010^-9,^187Os/^188Os初始值为0.1371~1.403,并提出其与地幔柱活动有关;而高Ti玄武岩的Os含量为0.00410^-9~0.56010^-9,^187Os/^188Os初始值为0.1271~5.19,认为起源于大陆岩石圈地幔或地幔柱上升过程中受到大量岩石圈地幔“混染”(xu JF et al.,2007);科马提岩的0s含量为1.2410^-9~7.0010^-9,^187Os/^188Os初始值为0.1251~0.1261,苦橄岩的Os含量为0.3210^-9~2.32910^-9,^187Os/^188Os初始值为0.1233~0.1266,指示苦橄岩和科马提岩均来自亏损地幔源区(Hanski et al.,2004;陈雷等,2007)。本文利用Os含量最低、^187Os/^188Os最高的高Ti玄武岩作为地壳端员,用铁质陨石、原始上地幔(PUM)和亏损地幔(DMM)作为地核和各种地幔端员,分别做二元混合计算,结果显示绝大多数玄武岩和所有苦橄岩及科马提岩均落在地壳和DMM混合曲线附近,并且邻区特提斯洋地幔岩与DMM具有相近的Os含量和^187Os/^188Os组成,据此推测峨眉山火成岩的形成与特提斯洋的活动有关,主要受控于地壳和亏损地幔的相互作用。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Subduction-related basaltic rocks in active continental margins should record information about the lithospheric mantle. Mafic rocks from the Qimantag region of the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt (EKOB), NW China, can be used to constrain the evolution of mantle sources. The Heishan basalts (445 Ma) and Xiarihamu gabbros (427 Ma) display distinct geochemical and isotopic features, with basalts yielding relatively lower Na2O+K2O (1.48–4.16 wt.%) and Mg# (0.50–0.57) than gabbros (Na2O+K2O = 2.96–4.07 wt.%, Mg# = 0.65–0.81). Although the basalts and gabbros show similar enrichment of LILE and depletion of HFSE, the gabbros have higher Th/Y and lower Sm/Th and Nb/U ratios than the basalts, indicative of derivation from a more enriched mantle source. The Heishan basalts have relatively positive εNd(t) values (+4.7 to +5.8) whereas the Xiarihamu gabbros have negative εNd(t) values ranging from ?5.5 to ?3.8. Crustal contamination played an insignificant role in the formation of the basalts and gabbros. Our data suggest that the basalts originated from a depleted mantle source, slightly enriched by subduction-related fluids, whereas the gabbros originated from an enriched mantle source. These findings support a subduction-related progressive lithospheric mantle enrichment model over ~20 Ma beneath the Qimantag region in the Early Palaeozoic.  相似文献

本文对中国东南沿海不含幔源包体的中生代玄武岩和含幔源包体的新生代玄武岩进行了微量元素和Nd-Sr-Pb同位素对比研究。中生代玄武岩呈Ta、Nb和Hf负异常,低Ce/Pb、Nb/U比值和高La/Nb比值,与岛弧火山岩和陆壳岩石的微量元素特征相类似,说明在岩浆生成和上升过程中,幔源组分受到了陆壳组分的混染。新生代玄武岩呈Ta、Nb正异常和Pb负异常,高Ce/Pb、Nb/U比值和低La/Nb比值,与海岛玄武岩(OIB)相类似,Nd-Sr同位素成分与夏威夷玄武岩类似,因而它们未受明显的陆壳混染。143Nd/144Nd与206Pb/204Pb之间的负相关关系和87Sr/86Sr与206Pb/204Pb之间的正相关关系说明本区新生代玄武岩起源于中等亏损程度的软流圈地幔,并与EMII富集地幔组分发生了混合。  相似文献

新疆西准噶尔北部地区的早泥盆世马拉苏组出露有少量富钠低钾的拉斑质中基性熔岩,这些分布于谢米斯台断裂北侧的玄武安山岩和玄武岩多呈夹层状断续产出于火山碎屑岩之中。马拉苏中基性熔岩的Mg#与主、微量元素协变关系及Th-Th/Nd图反映了其并非同源岩浆演化的结果。马拉苏火山岩中的玄武安山岩富集LILE、亏损HFSE,具有较高的Th含量及较低的Hf/Th和(Nb/Th)PM比值,显示出弧火山岩的地球化学特征。其中的玄武岩则具有略为平坦的稀土元素分配样式,较低的Th含量及较高的Hf/Th和(Nb/Th)PM比值,此同MORB地球化学特征极为相似;虽然其也显示有轻微的LILE富集、HFSE亏损,但是较高的La/Nb比值则暗示这同地壳或俯冲物质组分的卷入有关,且一系列构造环境判别图解也进一步印证了马拉苏组内的玄武岩应属似MORB基性熔岩。此外,两类岩石的高场强元素比值Zr/Nb、Hf/Ta同全球平均大洋中脊玄武岩的相应比值极为接近,反映了马拉苏组中基性火山岩的物质源区主体均为MORB地幔物质源区。La/Yb-Gd/Yb原始地幔标准化比值的模拟计算进一步显示了马拉苏组玄武安山岩与受改造(俯冲沉积物或地壳物质的混染)的石榴子石或尖晶石-石榴子石地幔橄榄岩物质源区的部分熔融作用有关,而似MORB型玄武岩则源自尖晶石地幔橄榄岩源区的部分熔融。结合区内同期的蛇绿岩、火山岩和碱性花岗岩的地球化学研究,我们可以进一步推断此类兼具有似MORB和弧火山岩地球化学特征的早泥盆世马拉苏火山岩应当是西准噶尔地块北部在早古生代受后期俯冲作用影响下经历弧后扩张形成的火山-岩浆地质记录。  相似文献

地幔柱存在的一个主要证据是大规模高熔玄武岩省的出现,而且多认为玄武岩的来源依赖于地幔柱从下地幔输送。Michele Lustrino研究了造山时下地壳和岩石圈地幔的拆沉和拆离作用,提出了产生玄武岩的一个新模型。该模型认为即使地幔柱不存在,拆沉到地幔的下地壳物质再循环同样可以解释小规模的板内(大洋岛弧和大陆内部)火山岩和大洋、大陆溢流玄武岩及洋中脊玄武岩的生成及其常见的几种地球化学特征。在陆-陆碰撞过程中,下地壳中的变质反应生成石榴石,导致岩石的密度增大,致使过厚岩石圈底部(下地壳和岩石圈地幔)和上地壳分离并沉入上地幔。下地壳发生部分熔融形成富SiO2的熔体,和上涌的软流圈地幔(充填在下沉的岩石圈地幔和下地壳的空间)发生变质交代反应,导致具有强烈的地壳特点的富含斜方辉石层的形成。这个变质交代地幔体可以在拆沉后保持不变长达几个百万年。这种源的部分熔体可以保有下地壳的明显特征,产生类似富集地幔1型玄武岩浆作用。因此,该模型是提供了玄武岩浆来源的一个新选择。  相似文献

The Kokchetav complex in Kazakhstan contains garnet-bearing gneisses that formed by partial melting of metasedimentary rocks at ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) conditions. Partial melting and melt extraction from these rocks is documented by a decrease in K2O and an increase in FeO + MgO in the restites. The most characteristic trace element feature of the Kokchetav UHP restites is a strong depletion in light rare earth elements (LREE), Th and U. This is attributed to complete dissolution of monazite/allanite in the melt and variable degree of melt extraction. In contrast, Zr concentrations remain approximately constant in all gneisses. Using experimentally determined solubilities of LREE and Zr in high-pressure melts, these data constrain the temperature of melting to ~1,000 °C. Large ion lithophile elements (LILE) are only moderately depleted in the samples that have the lowest U, Th and LREE contents, indicating that phengite retains some LILE in the residue. Some restites display an increase in Nb/Ta with respect to the protolith. This further suggests the presence of phengite, which, in contrast to rutile, preferentially incorporates Nb over Ta. The trace element fractionation observed during UHP anatexis in the Kokchetav gneisses is significantly different from depletions reported in low-pressure restites, where generally no LREE and Th depletion occurs. Melting at UHP conditions resulted in an increase in the Sm/Nd ratio and a decoupling of the Sm–Nd and Lu–Hf systems in the restite. Further subduction of such restites and mixing with mantle rocks might thus lead to a distinct isotopic reservoir different from the bulk continental crust.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Palaeoarchaean (3.38–3.35 Ga) komatiites from the Jayachamaraja Pura (J.C. Pura) and Banasandra greenstone belts of the western Dharwar craton, southern India were erupted as submarine lava flows. These high-temperature (1450–1550°C), low-viscosity lavas produced thick, massive, polygonal jointed sheet flows with sporadic flow top breccias. Thick olivine cumulate zones within differentiated komatiites suggest channel/conduit facies. Compound, undifferentiated flow fields developed marginal-lobate thin flows with several spinifex-textured lobes. Individual lobes experienced two distinct vesiculation episodes and grew by inflation. Occasionally komatiite flows form pillows and quench fragmented hyaloclastites. J.C. Pura komatiite lavas represent massive coherent facies with minor channel facies, whilst the Bansandra komatiites correspond to compound flow fields interspersed with pillow facies. The komatiites are metamorphosed to greenschist facies and consist of serpentine-talc ± carbonate, actinolite–tremolite with remnants of primary olivine, chromite, and pyroxene. The majority of the studied samples are komatiites (22.46–42.41 wt.% MgO) whilst a few are komatiitic basalts (12.94–16.18 wt.% MgO) extending into basaltic (7.71 – 10.80 wt.% MgO) composition. The studied komatiites are Al-depleted Barberton type whilst komatiite basalts belong to the Al-undepleted Munro type. Trace element data suggest variable fractionation of garnet, olivine, pyroxene, and chromite. Incompatible element ratios (Nb/Th, Nb/U, Zr/Y Nb/Y) show that the komatiites were derived from heterogeneous sources ranging from depleted to primitive mantle. CaO/Al2O3 and (Gd/Yb)N ratios show that the Al-depleted komatiite magmas were generated at great depth (350–400 km) by 40–50% partial melting of deep mantle with or without garnet (majorite?) in residue whilst komatiite basalts and basalts were generated at shallow depth in an ascending plume. The widespread Palaeoarchaean deep depleted mantle-derived komatiite volcanism and sub-contemporaneous TTG accretion implies a major earlier episode of mantle differentiation and crustal growth during ca. 3.6–3.8 Ga.  相似文献

This paper reports new petrological, geochemical and isotopic data for Carlsberg Ridge Basalts (CRB) of northwest Indian Ocean and evaluates their petrogenetic aspects in the context of the geochemical and tectonic evolution of the Indian Ocean mantle. The CRB samples exhibit tholeiitic to transitional composition of precursor melts derived by high degree, shallow level partial melting of a spinel peridotite mantle source. CRB reflects distinct E-MORB affinity with selective enrichment in incompatible trace elements. Higher values of Zr/Hf (33.8–47.3) and Zr/Sm (24.9–36.4) in conjunction with lower Nb/Ta (1.7–7.3) ratio corroborate their origin from an enriched mantle source. Negative Nb anomalies with lower Nb/Y (0.04–0.11) and Zr/Y (2.5–3.5) conform to a non-plume origin of these basalts. Higher Zr/Nb (25.5–71.5) and Th/Nb (0.6–0.42) compared to OIB substantiate contributions from recycled subduction-processed components in the source mantle. Lower Nb/U (6.2–37.9) values with higher Ba/Nb (6.1–21.9), Ba/Th (27.7–147.5), Zr/Nb (25.5–71.5) and Th/Nb (0.6–0.42) compared to OIB and N-MORB attest to role of a metasomatized oceanic lithosphere that recycled into the depleted upper mantle attributing to the source heterogeneity. Sr-Nd isotopic signatures (87Sr/86Sr: 0.702668 to 0.702841 and 143Nd/144Nd: 0.512972 to 0.513068) of CRB suggest a HIMU source component preserved in the northwest Indian Ocean Ridge mantle. The compositional diversity of the Indian Ocean mantle can be translated in terms of periodic refertilization of depleted N-MORB type mantle through delamination and recycling of oceanic (HIMU component) and continental lithosphere (EM I component) concurrent with Neoproterozoic-Palaeozoic amalgamation and Jurassic dispersal of Gondwana Supercontinent respectively. This study complies with the derivation of CRB from a geochemically heterogeneous Indian Ocean mantle that experienced a protracted residence beneath the Gondwana Supercontinent prior to the opening of Indian Ocean and trapped recycled metasomatized oceanic lithosphere genetically linked with multiple stages of paleo-ocean closure and continental convergence during Gondwana assembly.  相似文献

山东蒙阴科马提岩具有典型的鬣刺结构,高镁低钛,铝不亏损,具有正的Rb、Ba、Sr、U异常,轻稀土元素亏损,重稀土元素平坦,稀土元素总量很低,高场强元素与稀土元素发生分异,Nb/Nb^*〉1,与加拿大蒙罗镇科马提岩地球化学特征和同位素特征相似。研究表明,蒙阴科马提岩可能起源于长期亏损的地幔源区,岩浆不可能来源于以橄榄石、辉石和石榴石(或者majorite)为主要矿物相的地幔源区。最新Sm-Nd同位素研究显示,蒙阴科马提岩样品的εNd值为-0.4~+3.6,新鲜样品一般为+3.3,也证实了科马提岩来自长期亏损的地幔源区,并且地幔柱在上升过程中受到地壳混染程度很小,推测研究区科马提岩的喷出可能是新太古代大陆增生事件的重要组成部分。  相似文献

Analytical data on major elements and 31 trace elements in olivine nephelinites, nepheline basanites, basanitic alkali olivine basalts and their differentiates (tephrites, hawaiites, mugearites, benmoreites, latites, phonolites and trachytes) from Hegau, Kaiserstuhl, Rhön, Hessian Depression, Vogelsberg, Westerwald, Siebengebirge, E Eifel and Hocheifel are evaluated. They were based on 400 samples with new or unpublished data on about one third of the rocks. The Sr–Nd isotopic compositions for 78 rocks are included. The alkali basaltic volcanism is caused by adiabatic decompression of asthenospheric mantle updomed to a minimum depth of 50 km in connection with the Alpine continent collision. The chemical compositions of the primary basaltic melts from the different areas are similar containing about one hundred-fold enrichment of highly incompatible elements relative to the primitive mantle from partial melting of depleted and secondarily enriched peridotite. The elements Cs, K, Pb and Ti are specifically depleted in the basalts partly because of phlogopite being residual at partial melting. The Tertiary alkali basalts range in Nd-isotopic composition from 0.51288 to 0.51273 and in Sr-isotopic ratios from 0.7032 to 0.7042. These ranges indicate mixtures of HIMU, depleted and enriched mantle components in the metasomatically altered peridotite source which resembles that of certain ocean islands. The Nd-Sr-isotopic compositions of the Quaternary E Eifel are close to bulk Earth ratios. East and W Eifel plots differ distinctly from the Tertiary Hocheifel which is geographically intermediate. This isotopic difference, beside specific K/Na ratios, is probably caused by separate metasomatic pulses that immediately preceded the respective periods of volcanism. The metasomatically altered mantle had partly primitive mantle signatures (Nb/Ta, Zr/Sm and Th/U ratios) and partly ocean island (or MORB) source properties (Rb/Cs). A MORB source can be excluded because of the low K/Rb and high Th/U ratios. A correlation of D with 87Sr/86Sr in amphibole and phlogopite and a slightly larger 18O than in MORB is conformable with a seawater and crustal impact on the source of alkali basalts. Slightly higher than average water concentrations in the source of certain primary basaltic melts (indicated by amphibole phenocrysts in their basalts) are required for differentiation of these basalts in magma chambers of the upper crust. Model calculations are presented to explain compositions of differentiates which range from about 60% to about 20% residual melt. The latter are represented by phonolites and trachytes. The Nd- and Sr-isotopic signatures of the majority of differentiates indicate contamination by a granitic partial melt from the wall rocks of magma chambers. Olivine nephelinite magma was the common source of contaminated differentiates.  相似文献

苏海图组火山岩发育自然铜矿化,具有从拉斑玄武岩系列向钙碱性玄武岩系列过渡的特点。依据地球化学特征,表明其TiO2含量较低(1%),玄武岩高的Al2O3含量、低的稀土含量,并且稀土元素曲线具有平缓型到轻稀土低度富集的特点。微量元素原始地幔标准化图解上,它们均富集大离子亲石因素(LILE),亏损高场强元素(HFSE),具有强的Nb和Ta的负异常,Ti的低负异常,以及P和Sm的低正异常。Zr/Nb值和Sm/Nd值接近MORB的范围,Th/Nb值大于0.11,Nb/Zr值小于0.04。以上这些特征均显示出典型岛弧岩浆的特点。所以,苏海图组火山岩为火山弧火山岩,其构造背景为大陆岛弧,源区可能为被流体或沉积物交待改造的亏损地幔。  相似文献

Compositionally, high-Nb basalts are similar to HIMU (high U/Pb) ocean island basalts, continental alkaline basalts and alkaline lavas formed above slab windows. Tertiary alkaline basaltic lavas from eastern Jamaica, West Indies, known as the Halberstadt Volcanic Formation have compositions similar to high-Nb basalts (Nb > 20 ppm). The Halberstadt high-Nb basalts are divided into two compositional sub-groups where Group 1 lavas have more enriched incompatible element concentrations relative to Group 2. Both groups are derived from isotopically different spinel peridotite mantle source regions, which both require garnet and amphibole as metasomatic residual phases. The Halberstadt geochemistry demonstrates that the lavas cannot be derived by partial melting of lower crustal ultramafic complexes, metasomatised mantle lithosphere, subducting slabs, continental crust, mantle plume source regions or an upper mantle source region composed of enriched and depleted components. Instead, their composition, particularly the negative Ce anomalies, the high Th/Nb ratios and the similar isotopic ratios to nearby adakite lavas, suggests that the Halberstadt magmas are derived from a compositionally variable spinel peridotite source region(s) metasomatised by slab melts that precipitated garnet, amphibole, apatite and zircon. It is suggested that high-Nb basalts may be classified as a distinct rock type with Nb > 20 ppm, intraplate alkaline basalt compositions, but that are generated in subduction zones by magmatic processes distinct from those that generate other intraplate lavas.  相似文献

SHRIMP U–Pb zircon age, geochemical and Sm–Nd isotopic results are reported for the Mamianshan volcanic rocks in the Cathaysia Block of southeastern South China. The Mamianshan volcanic rocks are bimodal in composition and are dominantly transitional to mildly alkaline basalts and subordinate alkaline rhyolite, with an eruption age of 818 ± 9 Ma. The basaltic samples are characterized by LREE-enriched and “humped” trace element patterns, similar to many alkali basalts in continental rifts. Variable ɛNd(T) values between +3.33 and −4.35 indicate that the primary magma of these basalts was derived from an OIB-like mantle source and underwent fractional crystallization plus crustal contamination. The rhyolitic rocks are highly enriched in Th, Ta, Nb, REE, Zr, Hf and Y and depleted in Sr, P, Eu and Ti, sharing affinity to A1-type granites. Combined with their slightly positive ɛNd(T) values (+0.22 to +0.92), the Mamianshan felsic rocks were most likely generated by partial melting of the regional Paleoproterozoic Mayuan amphibolites. The Mamianshan bimodal volcanic rocks in the Cathaysia Block are coeval with the widespread intraplate magmatism around the Yangtze Block. Our results support the idea that a coherent South China Craton was formed during the ca. 1.0 Ga Sibao orogeny, and it subsequently underwent extensive continental rifting related to mantle plume or superplume activities beneath Rodinia since ca. 825 Ma.  相似文献

秦岭是扬子板块和华北陆块间的复合造山带,其中存在两个古缝合带,北面的新元古代到早古生代商-丹缝合带介于北秦岭和南秦岭之间,南面的晚古生代勉-略缝合带形成于南秦岭与扬子陆块北缘之间,属于确知的扬子陆块内部打开形成的类型。北秦岭在地壳增生历史,元古宙上地慢性质,以及元古宙以来地幔相对富Nb、Ta、Cu,高Rb/Sr、Ba/Sr、Ba/La、Th/La、Nb/Ta比值和相对贫Fe、Mo方面均与南秦岭和扬子陆块北段一致。而与华北板块南段明显不同。变玄武岩类的Pb同位素三维空间拓扑图和铀εNd(t)-206Pb/204Pb图显示,区域一级地球化学界面位于北秦岭与华北陆块的分界处,二级界面才是商丹-缝合带。构造侵位于该带中的松树沟蛇绿岩<1000 Ma士)中已发现并存着N—MORB和E—MORB型变拉斑玄武岩。表明它们的岩浆分别来自亏损地幔和深部地幔热柱源区。松树沟蛇绿岩与勉,略蛇绿岩中的N—MORB型岩石具有与此相似的同位素组成和特征元素对比值,暗示松树沟蛇绿岩所代表的古洋壳也应属于扬子板块内部型。加之,新元古代之前秦岭只存在裂谷系而无板块结合带,故可确定北秦岭原来应属于扬子板块的组成部分。对秦岭群和宽坪群变拉斑玄武岩及松树沟E—MORB和N—MIORB进行地球化学对比的结果,既能够支持北秦岭是在扬子板块的洋壳洋岛基础上发展形成的微陆块的推断,又可解释北秦岭幔源岩石具有特高Th/La、Yb/Hf、Sc/Th比值和壳幔更富于放射成因钳的原因。此外。对本研究结果在秦岭造山带发展动力学方面的意义也进行了初步讨论。  相似文献
