Methanesulphonate was investigated as a potential contributor to the sulphur budget based on the analysis on Antarctic snow/ice from Coffins Ice Cap, King George Island (62°10' S, 58°50,W). The anion was found to be present at a mean concentration of 0. 17 μeq. L-1 with a maximum of 0.73 μeq. L-1. A distinct seasonal variation exists in the top 10 m of the core, equivalent to more than two years of deposition. Dating resulted from δ18O profile suggests that the principal peaks of methanesulphonate are associated with snow deposited in autumn and secondary peaks in spring. The seasonal patterns of methanesulphonate in the subantarctic snow displays a phase difference from that observed in marine air from low and middle latitudes.  相似文献

新龙古冰帽位于沙鲁里山北部,古冰帽面积为2000km~2。海拔4600m以上湖群遍布,冰碛物撒满高原面,此即为古冰帽的判识标志。古冰帽分中心区与外围山谷冰川区,遗留有冰蚀湖、蚀碛均夷面、冰蚀丘陵、冰川槽谷、羊背石、鼓丘、侧碛堤等多种地貌类型。本冰帽演化经历了三次冰期。  相似文献

古里雅冰芯中钙离子含量及与气候变化关系   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
通过对古里雅冰帽中Ca2+含量变化的分析揭示:1)古里雅冰帽中的Ca2+主要来自它周围较近的地表矿物中的可溶性Ca(HCO3)2对同一根冰芯而言,Ca2+含量较高,反映出当时该冰川作用区较干旱,反之则较湿润;3)冰芯中的Ca2+含量,呈上升状态反映出当时的气候环境往干旱方向发展.而呈下降趋势则有两种可能:一种是气候环境较湿润;另一种是长期或重度干旱造成究竟是何种原因,可结合其它方法,如PH值、电导率、SO2-4等进行综合判断得出结论此点对于利用冰芯寻找古气候中的长期或重度干旱的年代尤为重要  相似文献

Sediment successions in coastal cliffs around Mezen Bay, southeastern White Sea, record an unusually detailed history of former glaciations, interstadial marine and fluvial events from the Weichselian. A regional glaciation model for the Weichselian is based on new data from the Mezen Bay area and previously published data from adjacent areas. Following the Mikulinian (Eemian) interglacial a shelf‐centred glaciation in the Kara Sea is reflected in proglacial conditions at 100–90 ka. A local ice‐cap over the Timan ridge existed between 75 and 65 ka. Renewed glaciation in the Kara Sea spread southwestwards around 60 ka only, interrupted by a marine inundation, before it advanced to its maximum position at about 55–50 ka. After a prolonged ice‐free period, the Scandinavian ice‐sheet invaded the area from the west and terminated east of Mezen Bay about 17 ka. The previously published evidence of a large ice‐dammed lake in the central Arkhangelsk region, Lake Komi, finds no support in this study. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

迭山西北部位于青藏高原的东缘, 属西秦岭山脉的西段. 在海拔3 700 m以上保存有类型较为齐全的冰蚀地形(冰斗、刃脊、U形谷、悬谷、粒雪盆、鲸背岩与基岩磨光面等)与冰碛地形(侧碛垄与终碛垄). 采用野外考察、遥感影像解译与填图等方法对该区的冰川地貌分布及其特征进行了探讨. 基于研究区冰川地形分布与特征, 结合青藏高原现代的抬升速率、邻近山地冰川地形的年代学资料以及其他古环境研究成果进行综合分析得出: 该区的古冰川发育于末次冰期, 末次冰期最盛期是其最主要的形成期. 冰川最盛时面积约38 km2, 为具有暖底性质的冰帽冰川.  相似文献

Recent analysis of a sediment core in the eastern Arabian Sea revealed a negative pulse of about 1% in the δ18O value of the planktonic Foraminifera around the last glacial maximum (LGM). This pulse has been attributed to (i) increased runoff into the Bay of Bengal from the east-flowing south Indian rivers due to enhancement of the northeast winter monsoon, and (ii) an increase in Arabian sea-surface temperature caused by the weakening of the southwest monsoon at the LGM. We show that the speculation on which the latter hypothesis is based, is not supported by observational data and cannot fully account for the observed magnitude of the spike. With a view to assessing the validity of the first mechanism, we have modelled the mixed layer of the Bay of Bengal as a well-mixed box. The model calculations show that to account for the pulse requires a change of about 10% in either the annual rate of river input or its isotopic composition. For the northeast monsoon to account for the pulse it would mean that the rainfall should have increased by a factor of five to ten during the LGM. No evidence for such an increase is indicated in the available palaeoclimatic data. We explain the freshwater spike by invoking increased discharge of glacial meltwater from the Tibetan plateau into the Bay of Bengal. We show that the proxy climate data from the Indo-Tibetan region that has become available recently provides substantial evidence for the occurrence of a warming event around the LGM, which supports our mechanism.  相似文献

新疆哈密是资源性缺水地区,冰川是该区主要的供给水源。为了对该区冰川和水文水资源的现状和未来变化做出合理评价和预估,以榆树沟6号冰川和庙尔沟冰帽为代表,结合野外实测资料以及近年来在冰川变化领域所取得的相关研究成果,综合分析了在气候变暖背景下新疆哈密地区冰川近年来的变化过程及对水资源的影响。结果表明,1972-2011年,榆树沟6号冰川厚度平均减薄20 m,减薄速率约为0.51 m/a,冰川末端退缩254 m,年均退缩约6.5 m。由于强烈消融,冰川表面径流发育明显,且在末端有冰碛湖形成。相比之下,庙尔沟冰帽消融速率相对较小,对气候变暖的敏感度较低,这与冰帽类型和所处海拔较高有直接关系。综合分析发现,流域有无冰川覆盖及覆盖的比率大小,直接造成哈密地区不同流域近期河川径流变化的差异。  相似文献

青藏高原古里雅冰帽冰碛和冰水沉积物粒度特征及其意义   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
冰冻圈演化不仅与青藏高原水塔变化、地表侵蚀风化及荒漠化密切相关,还深刻影响着亚洲季风系统和全球气候,冰碛物的粒度组成可以为冰冻圈演化提供重要信息,但高原冰碛物的特征粒度组成及其形成机理仍不清楚,高原冰碛物与高原冷黄土及河湖沉积物的关系也不明确。为此,选择青藏高原最大的冰帽——古里雅冰帽的冰碛物及系列冰水沉积物,开展系统粒度组成研究。研究发现:自终碛到冰川前端冰水扇及下游河流冰水沉积均表现出特征的双峰模态,即1~3 Φ(500~125 μm)的中细砂峰和6~8 Φ(16~4 μm)的细粉砂峰,前者可能由冰川压碎、寒冻风化崩裂作用造成,后者由冰川研磨作用形成,并受到源区基岩岩性软弱和组成颗粒大小的影响。冰川磨蚀的细粉砂组分含量,从冰碛物经冰水扇、河流到湖滩沉积物整体呈现减小趋势,粗粉砂在湖滩沉积中几乎完全被风吹走,粗粉砂直接成为下游黄土的物源并富集其中成为黄土特征组分,水流分选在开口湖泊中产生粗、细粉砂的明显富集,这些证据揭示出,无论是与冰川发育相关的尾闾湖沉积还是近源、远源的青藏高原及周边黄土沉积,其粉砂组成和来源,均可为高原冰冻圈的形成演化提供重要信息。  相似文献

为了探讨不同暴露时间对利用原地生宇生核素估算地表基岩至大侵蚀速率(maximum erosion rates,指假设样品达到侵蚀平衡状态下的侵蚀速率)的差异,本文选择青藏高原东南部稻城古冰帽区至少暴露年代(minimum exposure ages,指利用宇生核素暴露测年法所估算的在不考虑侵蚀速率影响时的暴露年代)为500 ka、100ka、10 ka的样品进行估算,并对前人的研究结果进行统计.研究表明:①研究区地表基岩在500 ka尺度、100 ka尺度和10 ka尺度的至大侵蚀速率分别约为1 mm/ka、5mm/ka和40 mm/ka,该结果与前人研究结果相一致.②文献统计显示百万年尺度和万年尺度地表岩石侵蚀速率可相差100倍.因此,基于原地生字生核素所估算的侵蚀速率是在某个暴露时间(假设该暴露时间已达到侵蚀平衡状态)内的至大侵蚀速率,而不同的暴露时间尺度所估算的结果相差较大,因此在进行区域至大侵蚀速率对比时一定要注意样品的至少暴露年代尺度是否一致.本研究可为青藏高原地区地表侵蚀速率的研究提供参考.  相似文献
