Most analytical or semi‐analytical solutions of the problem of load‐settlement response of axially loaded piles are based on the assumption of zero radial displacement. These solutions also are only applicable to piles embedded in either a homogeneous or a Gibson soil deposit. In reality, soil deposits consist of multiple soil layers with different properties, and displacements in the radial direction within the soil deposit are not zero when the pile is loaded axially. In this paper, we present a load‐settlement analysis applicable to a pile with circular cross section installed in multilayered elastic soil that accounts for both vertical and radial soil displacements. The analysis follows from the solution of the differential equations governing the displacements of the pile–soil system obtained using variational principles. The input parameters needed for the analysis are the pile geometry and the elastic constants of the soil and pile. We compare the results from the present analysis with those of an analytical solution that considers only vertical soil displacements. The analysis presented in this paper also provides useful insights into the displacement and strain fields around axially loaded piles. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A three-dimensional numerical method was used to simulate cavity expansion during installation and an in situ load test conducted on a single rammed aggregate pier (RAP). Verification of the numerical model was carried out by comparing the computed settlements at top and tip of the pier with the measured values. An un-rammed aggregate pier (UAP) of the same diameter and length was also simulated using the numerical method to demonstrate the effect of installation. Interpretations of the numerical results were focused on the load–settlement behavior, the bulging of the pier, the axial load distributions along the pier, and the stress paths of the soil around the pier. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the influence of the pier length/diameter ratio and the soil properties on the behavior of rammed and un-rammed aggregate piers.  相似文献

基于高速列车运行引起的轨道-桥梁-桥墩-季节性冻土区场地的地面振动和沉降问题, 选取哈大高速铁路铁岭至四平段某桥墩及周围基础场地为测试段, 对实测数据从时域和频域两方面进行分析, 研究了桥墩及周围不同场地的振动特性, 结果表明:桥墩和基础场地的振动特性存在很大的差异, 基础场地对振动有放大效应, 且不同基础场地对振动的放大效果也明显不同。结合实测概况建立了桥墩-基础场地有限元数值模型, 分析桥墩及基础场地在不同季节的振动传播特性, 以及基础场地土体内部的应力分布情况, 并利用累积塑性应变模型对重复列车荷载作用下季节性冻土区基础场地的沉降变形进行分析, 发现场地振动加速度峰值随与桥墩距离R的增大而衰减, 且在冻结季的振动衰减速度明显小于非冻结季的; 基础场地地表的累积沉降在距桥墩R=0.5 m处最大, 且随着列车荷载作用次数的增加而增加, 最后逐步趋于稳定。  相似文献

采用分布式光纤传感技术对赫章特大桥195 m主墩下的大直径嵌岩桩承载特性进行了系统的研究分析。首先采用室内模型试验验证了光纤技术在桩基测试中应用的可行性;然后通过现场埋设和施工过程中的数据采集、整理与分析,系统研究了大直径嵌岩桩的承载特性及其荷载传递机制;依托工程的实测变形量进一步证明了光纤测试技术的可行性和正确性。基于全分布式光纤传感技术的研究结果对大直径嵌岩桩理论及其工程应用具有参考价值,同时对光纤测试技术在桩基测试中的应用具有借鉴作用。  相似文献

以层状地基内部作用一竖向集中力时的广义Mindlin解作为边界单元法的基本解,对层状地基中的轴向受荷单桩进行了分析,对基本解的奇异性处理方法进行了改进。考虑了桩的可压缩性和长径比对桩-土荷载传递规律和沉降特性的影响,编制了计算程序,并进行了数值分析和计算。结果表明,该方法具有较快的计算速度和良好的计算精度。  相似文献

In a field, piles are likely installed in a multi-layered soil. Analysis of axially loaded piles in a multi-layered soil is complicated and deserves more attention. A boundary element method is used in this study to analyze an axially loaded single pile in a multi-layered soil using the solution for vertical and horizontal axisymmetric ring loads in a multi-layered elastic medium. Good and reasonable agreement is obtained between the proposed and published solutions for a single pile in a homogenous soil, a finite soil, and a Gibson soil. The proposed solution is also used to evaluate an axially loaded single pile in a multi-layered (8 layers) soil.  相似文献

Performance of a Pier Group Foundation in Swelling Rock   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Foundations on claystone with swell potential may experience upward movement and failure. In this case study, the cause of 58 mm upward movement of drilled-in piers is analyzed using survey data, extensometer readings, and moisture content monitoring of claystone at the site. Laboratory swell tests were conducted to characterize the swelling characteristics of the weathered rock. A swell potential analysis for the pier group foundations is presented. The interaction of the pier group with the swelling rock is considered in analyzing the initiation of the upward movement. Furthermore, a novel inverse analysis method is presented to integrate the laboratory swell test results and numerical modeling to identify the representative swell pressures acting on the pier group as well as upward movement of the pier system. The numerical analysis indicates that the studied pier system is expected to have 135 mm heave and its rate of upward movement is compared with field observations. The behavior of the pier group foundation in swelling rock under various pier spacings and superstructure pressures shows that the uplift is considerably less for piers with smaller center-to-center spacing. The results of pier group numerical modeling provide the correlation of upward deformation changes due to center-to-center spacing of the piers, pier diameters and superstructure pressures.  相似文献

根据同一试验场地厚层非湿陷性黄土状土中8根大直径扩底墩、2根等直径桩的竖向承载力静载试验,对扩底墩的竖向承载性状进行了研究。结果表明,在其他条件相同时,随扩底墩直径D的增大,虽单位面积极限端阻力有不同程度的降低,但墩的极限承载力Qu增大;当D和墩身直径d不变时,总极限侧阻力所占墩顶极限荷载的百分比随长径比L/d的增大而增大;d不变时,随长径比L/D的增加,各墩的墩顶荷载呈起伏变化,总端阻所占百分比(比等直径桩大)相应降低,平均极限侧阻力(比等直径桩小)相应增大,而L/D = 3时,其承载性状较好;在扩底墩墩身直径d与等直径桩相同、入土长度相当的情况下,前者承载力比后者大,且沉降小。  相似文献

This study aims to provide knowledge on the thermo-mechanical behaviour of heat exchanger piles, through a laboratory scale model. The model pile (20 mm in external diameter) was embedded in dry sand. The behaviour of the axially loaded pile under thermal cycles was investigated. After applying the axial load on the pile head, the pile temperature was varied between 5 and 30 °C. Seven tests, corresponding to various axial loads ranging from 0 to 70 % of the pile estimated bearing capacity, were performed. The results on pile head displacement show that heating under low axial load induced heave and cooling induced settlement; the pile temperature-displacement curve was found to be reversible and compatible with the thermal expansion curve of the pile. However, at higher axial loads, irreversible settlement of the pile head was observed after a few thermal cycles. The axial load profile measured by the strain gauges evidenced that the pile head load was mainly transferred to the pile toe. Nevertheless, thermal cycles modified significantly the mobilised skin friction along the pile. The total pressure measured at various locations in the soil mass was also slightly influenced by the thermal cycles.  相似文献

PCC能量桩是河海大学岩土所开发的一种新型能量桩技术。在常规桩基静载荷模型试验基础上,将PCC能量桩放置在南京典型砂土中,并通过导热管内水体的循环对模型桩体施加温度场,以模拟PCC能量桩在实际运行过程中的承载力特性与受力机制,PCC能量桩先加载至工作荷载(极限荷载的一半),再施加热-冷循环一次,最后加载至极限荷载,测得不同温度下PCC能量桩的荷载-位移关系曲线、桩身应力-应变关系曲线等变化规律。试验结果表明,能量桩换热过程中,热量更容易从桩体传向土体(即夏季模式的热循环);热循环及制冷循环都明显改变了桩顶位移值,且往复循环作用下产生的塑性变形不能完全恢复,其积累变形可能危害上部结构安全;桩身受温度场作用产生的热应力相对较大,且不同约束条件下其变化值有所差异;在制冷循环下,桩底部甚至可能产生较大拉应力。  相似文献

通过颗粒流数值模拟,从桩端阻力随上拔位移的发展与桩端周围土体颗粒位移表现等角度,研究了扩底抗拔桩端阻力的群桩效应问题。研究比较了单桩(墩)与群桩(墩)的抗拔性状以及不同墩距下中心墩与边墩阻力随上拔位移发展的情况。研究表明,在归一化上拔量 0.1时,单桩(墩)与群桩(墩)的上拔特性无明显差别;此后,随着上拔位移的发展,单桩(墩)的上拔端阻力要大于群桩中的桩(墩)的端阻力,桩(墩)周围土体颗粒的相互影响开始显现。在归一化上拔量 0.5的情况下,群桩(墩)中中心桩(墩)的端阻力要略大于边桩(墩)。在归一化上拔量 0.5的情况下,群桩中边桩的桩端阻力较中心桩的要大,而群墩中边墩的墩端阻力较中心墩要小,体现了桩身侧限对抗拔桩群中端阻力发挥的影响。随着墩距的增大,在较大的位移量以后群墩才与单墩的受力有显著差别。  相似文献

砂卵石层上大直径扩底短墩竖向承载性状   总被引:12,自引:2,他引:10  
根据同一场地砂卵石层中一组土的深层静载荷试验、一组纯摩擦桩和两组原型扩底墩的竖向承载力静载试验,分析了埋深在6.20~6.75 m处的扩底短墩的荷载传递性状。结果表明,可用直接试验法和间接试验法确定扩底墩的竖向承载力。以卵石层为持力层的S3试验墩的极限承载力为7 250 kN,其中端阻力达6 890 kN,占95 %;以砂层为持力层的S2墩的极限承载力为2 330 kN,端阻力占85 %。当墩顶仅沉降1.46 mm左右时,S3、S2墩侧摩阻力已充分发挥;在端阻力充分发挥时,S3、S2墩顶沉降则分别达92.64 mm和21.07 mm。直径相同时,扩底桩的竖向承载力远大于纯摩擦桩和直身墩。  相似文献

Using pile segment analysis, the mobilized shaft resistance of axially loaded nondisplacement piles in sand is investigated here. It is accepted that the shaft capacity of piles constructed in granular soils is highly influenced by the mechanical behavior of soil–structure interfaces forming adjacent the piles skin. Adopting the thin interface layer as a load transfer mechanism, a simple but accurate critical state compatible interface constitutive model is introduced. After evaluation, the interface model in conjunction with the pile segment analysis is applied for the prediction of the shaft resistance mobilized in nondisplacement piles. The proposed approach takes into account the influences of pile diameter and surface roughness together with the effects of the surrounding soil density and stiffness on the mobilized shaft resistance. The performance of the proposed method is verified by comparing its predictions with the experimental data of various model piles covering wide ranges of length, diameter, roughness, and surrounding soil properties. 采用Sontek公司声学多普勒测速仪(ADV)对有拦沙坝防护的模型桥墩附近流场进行了精细测量,对桥墩冲刷坑内三维流速分布进行了分析,给出了冲刷坑内三维紊动特征量的分布,分析研究了有拦沙防护坝时桥墩局部冲刷的三个新特点,提出了拦沙坝的适用条件。另外,还采用有限体积法(FCVM)对桥墩附近流场进行了三维水流数值模拟,与ADV实测数据进行了对比验证,结果比较吻合。利用测量与模拟成果分析了墩前三维流速分布规律及对桥墩局部冲刷的影响,对研究复杂边界桥墩流场结构与局部冲刷计算有参考价值。  相似文献

In reliability analysis, the crude Monte Carlo method is known to be computationally demanding. To improve computational efficiency, this paper presents an importance sampling based algorithm that can be applied to conduct efficient reliability evaluation for axially loaded piles. The spatial variability of soil properties along the pile length is considered by random field modeling, in which a mean, a variance, and a correlation length are used to statistically characterize a random field. The local averaging subdivision technique is employed to generate random fields. In each realization, the random fields are used as inputs to the well-established load transfer method to evaluate the load–displacement behavior of an axially loaded pile. Failure is defined as the event where the vertical movement at the pile top exceeds the allowable displacement. By sampling more heavily from the region of interest and then scaling the indicator function back by a ratio of probability densities, a faster rate of convergence can be achieved in the proposed importance sampling algorithm while maintaining the same accuracy as in the crude Monte Carlo method. Two examples are given to demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed method. It is shown that the estimate based on the proposed importance sampling method is unbiased. Furthermore, the size of samples can be greatly reduced in the developed method.  相似文献

The paper pertains to the development of a generalized procedure to analyze and predict the flexural behavior of axially and laterally loaded pile foundations under liquefied soil conditions. Pseudo-static analysis has been carried out taking into consideration the combined effect of axial load and lateral load. Based on the available literature effect of degradation on the modulus of subgrade reaction due to soil liquefaction has been incorporated in the analysis. The developed program was calibrated and validated by comparing the predicted behavior of the pile with theoretical and experimental results reported in literature. The predicted behavior has been found to be in excellent to very good agreement with the theoretical and observed values in the field, respectively. The present study highlights the importance of considering the axial load from the superstructure along with the inertia forces from the superstructure and the kinematic forces from the liquefied soil in the design of pile foundations in liquefiable areas. The significance of densification of the soil in the liquefiable areas and presence of an adequate top non-liquefied soil cover causing appreciable reduction in deflection and bending moment experienced by the piles has been highlighted.  相似文献

在寒区工程建筑物设计中,冻土的抗压、抗拉强度是两个重要的力学指标.在负温条件下,对粉质黏土、黄土和砂土进行单轴抗压和劈裂抗拉试验,研究冻土破坏时的破坏形态、破坏机理、应力-应变曲线和拉应力与径向位移关系曲线的形式,分析单轴抗压强度和劈裂抗拉强度的差异以及这两种强度随土质特性和温度的变化规律.试验结果表明:单轴载荷作用下试样破坏后呈鼓状,且表现为应变软化型塑性破坏特征;劈裂作用下产生沿直径向试样两侧延伸的裂缝,不同土质破坏后裂缝扩展的宽度和深度不同;冻土的抗压强度与抗拉强度均与负温存在很好的线性相关性,随温度的降低而增大;在相同温度条件下,冻土的抗压强度大于其抗拉强度;对于同一种冻土,其抗压强度的温度效应比抗拉强度的温度效应显著.本试验分析结果可为寒区工程的实际应用提供参考.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical solution for determining the dynamic characteristics of axially loaded piles embedded in elastic-poroelastic layered soil of finite thickness. The interface between the elastic and poroelastic soil coincides with the groundwater table level, which is explicitly taken into account in the solution. The pile is modelled as elastic one-dimensional rod to account for the effect of its dynamic characteristics on the response of the soil-pile system. The solution is based on Biot's poroelastodynamic theory and the classical elastodynamic theory, which we use to establish the governing equations of the soil and pile. Accordingly, the pile base resistance, shaft reaction, and the complex impedance of soil-pile system are obtained using the method of Hankel integral transformation. Following the validation of the derived solution, we identify the main parameters affecting the vertical dynamic impedance of the pile via a parametric study. The presented method poses as an efficient alternative for quickly estimating the dynamic characteristics of axially loaded piles, without having to resort to complex numerical analyses.  相似文献
