Summary With the decreasing magnitude of the initial remanent condition of rocks, their pressure demagnetization gradually changes to pressure remanent magnetic polarization under elastic deformation. In both cases the physical cause of these changes are the irreversible changes of the domain structure of ferrimagnetic minerals. Under directional pressure the natural remanent magnetic polarization is affected namely by the generation of a relatively little stable pressure remanent magnetic polarization. With regard to paleomagnetic research, the essential thing is that secondary magnetization combined with possible elastic deformations of rocks in the Earth's crust can be eliminated relatively easily by magnetic cleaning.  相似文献

Seismic anisotropy provides important constraints on deformation patterns of Earth's material. Rayleigh wave dispersion data with azimuthal anisotropy can be used to invert for depth-dependent shear wavespeed azimuthal anisotropy, therefore reflecting depth-varying deformation patterns in the crust and upper mantle. In this study, we propose a two-step method that uses the Neighborhood Algorithm(NA) for the point-wise inversion of depth-dependent shear wavespeeds and azimuthal anisotropy from Rayleigh wave azimuthally anisotropic dispersion data. The first step employs the NA to estimate depthdependent VSV(or the elastic parameter L) as well as their uncertainties from the isotropic part Rayleigh wave dispersion data. In the second step, we first adopt a difference scheme to compute approximate Rayleigh-wave phase velocity sensitivity kernels to azimuthally anisotropic parameters with respect to the velocity model obtained in the first step. Then we perform the NA to estimate the azimuthally anisotropic parameters Gc/L and Gs/L at depths separately from the corresponding cosine and sine terms of the azimuthally anisotropic dispersion data. Finally, we compute the depth-dependent magnitude and fast polarization azimuth of shear wavespeed azimuthal anisotropy. The use of the global search NA and Bayesian analysis allows for more reliable estimates of depth-dependent shear wavespeeds and azimuthal anisotropy as well as their uncertainties.We illustrate the inversion method using the azimuthally anisotropic dispersion data in SE Tibet, where we find apparent changes of fast axes of shear wavespeed azimuthal anisotropy between the crust and uppermost mantle.  相似文献

Summary A typical disturbance observed in the records of tilt measurements performed with horizontal pendulums in a mine at a depth of 145 m below surface, under very constant temperature conditions, has been analysed as to its correlation with the barometric pressure distribution. It is shown that the observed load tilts are not due to elastic deformations of the Earth's crust, but may be ascribed to movements of tectonic blocks of large extension.  相似文献

Summary A two-dimensional theory of gravitational stresses in the Earth's crust with curved boundaries is presented. The crust is modelled by an elastic plate lying on an elastic half-space. The solution obtained in the case of periodically varying boundaries is shown to be very sensitive to the ratio of both elastic parameters. Moreover, the geometrical configuration of both boundaries and their phase shift are of great importance for the resulting stress pattern.  相似文献

An algorithm of annealing is applied to a joint inversion of travel times and waveforms belonging to a synthetically generated seismic refraction experiment. The medium (crust and upper mantle) is modelled by a set of plane stratified layers and a halfspace. The obtained structure (elastic parameters and depth of layers) shows that, in spite of contaminating seismic noise and poor knowledge of the seismic source, annealing methods are a good tool in these kinds of inversion problems. We think that many characteristics of the annealing process described here could be used with real data and more sophisticated media for the crust and upper mantle of the earth than the present example.  相似文献

In 1988 two large earthquakes with magnitude of Ms 7.6 and Ms 7.2 occurred in Lancang-Genma area, Southwest China. This paper discusses the determination of the spatial distribution of fault slip caused by the earthquakes using geodetic surveys. The prior information obtained from geological surveys and seismological investigations was used to determine the geometry of the fault plane and the average fault slip. The smooth constraints on the fault slips have been described by a normal distribution with hyperparameters, which are incorporated in the inversion analysis with a Bayesian model. Akaike’s Bayesian Information Criterion (ABIC) is used to get the optimal values of hyperparameters. Once the hyperparameters are determined, the maximum likelihood method is employed to estimate the patterns of a fault slip. Based on the results of inverse analysis monitoring geodetic surveys can be properly designed and conducted to obtain crust deformations and predict potential earthquake sources.  相似文献

A model is proposed that shows the relation of the block structure of the crust and earthquake sources (Sadovskii, 1979; Rodionov, 1979, 1984, 1994; Bugaev, 1999, 2011, 2014, 2015). The model can formalize how to assess the prediction of seismic regime parameters depending on the elastic limit and conditions and rate of deformation of the Earth’s crust. The spent nuclear fuel repository site in Olkiluoto (Finland) and a site in the area of the Krasnoyarsk Mining and Chemical Combine are considered as examples. It is demonstrated that the parameters of the prediction graphs limit the location of the points of magnitude repeatability graphs calculated for a site based on samples of earthquakes in the area according to different authors. This makes it possible to recommend predictive assessment of seismic regime parameters for stability monitoring of the seismic regime and safety analysis of a geological environment’s insulation properties for waste sites from the results of seismological monitoring and high-precision observations of modern movements of the Earth’s crust.  相似文献

本文对随县-西安测线的地震测深资料进行了初步分析,讨论了该剖面地壳内主要界面的震相特征。通过对观测走时的分层反演及综合反演,得到三层的地壳模型。地壳的平均速度为6.33km/s,厚度约34km,上地幔顶部的速度为8.10km/s。下地壳是由高速及低速层交替构成,高速层的速度为7.39km/s。构制了主要界面的剖面起伏图,并进行了讨论。  相似文献

2.5-D modeling and inversion techniques are much closer to reality than the simple and traditional 2-D seismic wave modeling and inversion. The sensitivity kernels required in full waveform seismic tomographic inversion are the Fréchet derivatives of the displacement vector with respect to the independent anisotropic model parameters of the subsurface. They give the sensitivity of the seismograms to changes in the model parameters. This paper applies two methods, called ‘the perturbation method’ and ‘the matrix method’, to derive the sensitivity kernels for 2.5-D seismic waveform inversion. We show that the two methods yield the same explicit expressions for the Fréchet derivatives using a constant-block model parameterization, and are available for both the line-source (2-D) and the point-source (2.5-D) cases. The method involves two Green’s function vectors and their gradients, as well as the derivatives of the elastic modulus tensor with respect to the independent model parameters. The two Green’s function vectors are the responses of the displacement vector to the two directed unit vectors located at the source and geophone positions, respectively; they can be generally obtained by numerical methods. The gradients of the Green’s function vectors may be approximated in the same manner as the differential computations in the forward modeling. The derivatives of the elastic modulus tensor with respect to the independent model parameters can be obtained analytically, dependent on the class of medium anisotropy. Explicit expressions are given for two special cases—isotropic and tilted transversely isotropic (TTI) media. Numerical examples are given for the latter case, which involves five independent elastic moduli (or Thomsen parameters) plus one angle defining the symmetry axis.  相似文献

1997年11月8日西藏玛尼Mw75级地震是干涉雷达技术应用于地震观测以来的一次重要事件.Peltzer等认为该形变场体现了地壳的非线性弹性形变响应,挤压象限和拉张象限的杨氏模量比值为2.相同的情形并没有在其他地震同震形变场中发现,通常用线弹性理论就能够很好地解释观测数据.考虑到他们所用断层模型的简化程度和纯走滑约束等,本研究认为非线性弹性解释是牵强的.应用广泛使用的Okada线弹性位错模型,采用卫星观测得到的地表断层位置,去除倾滑为零的约束,基于非线性优化反演方法寻求拟合雷达观测的最佳断层几何参数和均匀滑动参数.结果表明,线弹性模型能够满意解释观测数据.断层在朝阳湖以东的段落最深达到165 km,随着断层向两侧延伸,深度逐渐减小;反演得到的断层倾  相似文献

岩石圈有效弹性厚度是表征岩石圈力学性质的参数,其反映了岩石圈挠曲变形的特征.本文在传统二维挠曲模型的基础上,提出了适用于俯冲及碰撞带的三维薄板挠曲模型.并发展了基于粒子群算法的俯冲带三维有效弹性厚度反演方法.该方法适用于挠曲参数存在横向差异的俯冲-碰撞带.最后利用该方法反演了马尼拉海沟处岩石圈的有效弹性厚度,结果显示:南海中央海盆岩石圈的有效弹性厚度随着距洋中脊距离的增加而增大;马尼拉海沟轴部弯矩在洋中脊两侧呈分段性变化,这表明南海俯冲板片在深部撕裂可能对浅部的挠曲形态产生影响.  相似文献

On the basis of distribution of active fault and regional rheological structure, a three-dimensional finite element model of Sichuan-Yunnan region, China, is constructed to simulate contemporary crustal motion and stress distri- bution and discuss the dynamic mechanism of crustal motion and deformation in the Sichuan-Yunnan region. Lin- ear Maxwell visco-elastic model is applied, which includes the active fault zones, the elastic upper crust and vis- cous lower crust and upper mantle. Four different models with different boundary conditions and deep structure are calculated. Some conclusions are drawn through comparison. Firstly, the crustal rotation about the eastern syntaxis of the Himalaya in the Sicuan-Yunnan region may be controlled by the special dynamic boundary condition. The drag force of the lower-crust on the upper crust is not negligible. At the same time, the main active fault zones play an important role in the contemporary crustal motion and deformation in Sichuan-Yunnan region.  相似文献

本文给出利用空间深地震测深反射资料重建地壳三维构造和速度分布的方法,适用于任意分层并且每层可由若干断块组成的地壳模型。通过采用适当的反演方法获得地壳界面的三维构造,并在此结果基础之上,进一步将剩余走时残差归因于地壳速度的不均匀性,采用东分块的反演方法,重建地壳三维速度分布,数值模拟的结果表明算法是有效的。  相似文献

根据活动断裂分布和区域流变结构建立川滇地区三维有限元模型, 采用上地壳为弹性介质,下地壳和上地幔为Maxwell体的粘弹性模型,模拟川滇地区地壳现今运动和应力分布,探讨川滇地区地壳运动变形的动力学机制. 通过4种不同边界条件和深度分层结构有限元模型的计算结果的对比,认为川滇地区绕喜玛拉雅东构造结顺时针旋转的地壳运动模式主要受川滇地区特殊的边界动力作用控制,川滇菱形块体下地壳流动对上地壳的拖曳作用亦不容忽视. 同时,川滇地区各块体的现今地壳运动场和应力场还受到区域主要活动断裂带的影响, 呈现分块特征.   相似文献

We present a methodology to construct three-dimensional deformation maps using different parameters that can be extracted using SAR data. We apply the methodology using ENVISAT SAR data before and after the December 26th, 2003 Mw 6.6 Bam earthquake in Iran to determine spatial quasi-continuous three-dimensional coseismic deformation maps. Two near vertical deformation offset components are computed using Envisat ASAR differential interferometry (DInSAR), while two horizontal deformation offset components are measured using sub-pixel correlation techniques applied to ASAR amplitude images. Using the presented methodology, we combine four unevenly precise independent projections of surface coseismic deformation to obtain the full three-dimensional coseismic deformation field caused by an earthquake. The full 3-D coseismic displacement vector is modeled using elastic deformation models constraining details of the fault geometry and slip distribution at depth. Results from the inversion are interpreted in the framework of the Iranian present-day tectonism. Full exploitation of dense 3-D coseismic surface deformation using SAR data, even for moderate earthquakes, should facilitate distinguishing between different interpretations of the mechanical properties of seismically active areas and within the inherent ambiguity of the geophysical inversion solutions.  相似文献

青藏高原岩石圈的流变学结构和形变机制是地学界长期争论的重大科学问题.2001年发生在东昆仑断裂带的MW7.8可可西里地震造成青藏高原北部地区岩石圈构造应力场的很大改变,引起下地壳与上地幔的快速弛豫形变,从而为研究这一问题提供了难得的机会.本研究采用该区域的GPS震后观测,反演这一地区岩石圈的流变学参数并探讨其形变机制.反演所采用的数据来自45个GPS观测点,其中包括一个中国地壳运动观测网络的基准站,数据最长时间跨度达6.4年.大地震震后形变场主要来源于地壳、上地幔的黏弹性松弛与断层面上的震后余滑,因此本研究同时反演介质的黏滞系数和断层的震后余滑.考虑到东昆仑断层南侧的巴颜喀拉-羌塘地区与北侧的柴达木盆地地区具有明显不同的地壳结构,断层南北两侧采用不同的Burgers体流变学结构,其下地壳-上地幔的短期和长期黏滞系数采用网格搜索法获得;断层震后余滑反演则同时施加近似正比于库仑应力的约束.最终结果显示:东昆仑断层北侧柴达木盆地地区下地壳-上地幔短期和长期黏滞系数分别为5×1018 Pa·s和1.5×1020 Pa·s;东昆仑断层南侧巴颜喀拉-羌塘地区下地壳-上地幔短期和长期黏滞系数分别为1.5×1018 Pa·s和1.5×1019 Pa·s.这一结果表明:巴颜喀拉-羌塘地区下地壳-上地幔黏滞系数显著低于柴达木盆地,意味着巴颜喀拉-羌塘地区下地壳可能存在部分熔融,其地壳形变模式更趋近于连续形变,而柴达木盆地形变模式更趋近于块体运动.研究区下地壳长期黏滞系数比下地壳流模型所主张的黏滞系数高2~3个数量级,表明下地壳流在本地区可能不存在.  相似文献

For evaluating the deformations of the Earth’s crust in the Northern Tien Shan, we calculated the mode and intensity of the seismotectonic deformations (STD) for this region. The input for these calculations were the catalog data on the focal mechanisms of earthquakes, obtained by wave inversion of the signals recorded at the Kyrgyz seismic network (KNET) for the period 1994–2006. In the construction of STD maps, a modern approach to the classification of seismotectonic deformations was applied. This approach distinguishes eleven typical patterns of deformation. The areal distributions of the Lode-Nadai coefficient, as well as of the vertical component and the aspect angle of the deformed state were obtained. At the same time, based on the GPS measurements in the Northern Tien Shan during 1994–2006, the rates of dilatation and shear deformation of the Earth’s crust were estimated. A comparison between the directions of strain axes derived from the GPS data and from the earthquake focal data is carried out.  相似文献

水库蓄水后,水体质量荷载引起地基岩石介质产生静力学形变效应.发生地震的水库,由于震源区岩石介质扩容,也会引起地基岩石介质的形变.本文同时考虑了这两种效应.水体质量荷载的静力学形变总效应包括:荷载引起的地基岩石介质的静态弹性形变,质量引起的重力等位面形变以及静态弹性形变所引起的重力等位面形变.岩石介质扩容效应在一定阶段会引起地基岩石介质的膨胀隆起,这种隆起形变同样也引起重力场变化.采用上述模型分析了丹江水库的水准测量成果,确定了该地区地基岩石介质的 Lame 常数,分析了地面垂直形变与地震的关系,从而认为使用该模型分析蓄水后库区的地面的垂直形变,可以为预报水库区地震提取必要的信息.   相似文献
