A procedure to calculate the three-dimensional harmonic response of a infinitely long cylindrical shell of circular cross-section embedded in a layered viscoelastic half-space and subjected to harmonic plane waves impinging at an oblique angle with respect to the axis of the shell is validated by extensive comparisons with previous two- and three-dimensional results for the particular case of a shell embedded in a uniform half-space. New numerical results describing the motion and stresses within a shell embedded in a multilayered half-space and subjected to obliquely incident P-, SV- and SH-waves with different horizontal angles of incidence are presented and discussed.  相似文献

The three-dimensional harmonic response in the vicinity of an infinitely long, cylindrical cavity of circular cross-section buried in a layered, viscoelastic half-space is obtained when the half-space is subjected to homogeneous plane waves and surface waves impinging at an oblique angle with respect to the axis of the cavity. The solution is obtained by an indirect boundary integral method based on the use of moving Green's functions for the viscoelastic half-space. Numerical results describing the motion on the ground surface and the motion and stresses on the wall of the cavity are presented for obliquely incident P-, SV-, SH- and Rayleigh waves with different horizontal angles of incidence.  相似文献

An indirect boundary integral method to obtain the three-dimensional response of an infinitely long, layered, viscoelastic valley of arbitrary cross-section embedded in a layered viscoelastic half-space is presented. The valley is excited by homogeneous plane waves impinging at an oblique angle with respect to the axis of the valley. The method and associated computer programs are tested by comparison with available results in the limiting two-dimensional case of incidence normal to the axis of the valley. Additional comparisons with previous three-dimensional results obtained by a hybrid finite element-boundary integral method for cylindrical valleys subjected to obliquely incident waves show large differences. However, the results obtained here for an infinitely long valley appear to be in some agreement with earlier results for an elongated prolate semi-ellipsoidal valley and with results obtained by a discrete wavenumber boundary element approach. An extensive bibliography on the dynamic response of valleys is also presented.  相似文献

An integral equation technique to calculate the dynamic response of foundations embedded in a layered viscoelastic half-space when subjected to external forces and moments is presented. The technique is based on representing the radiated field as resulting from a set of sources distributed over a surface internal to the actual boundary of the foundation and by imposing the boundary conditions in an integral sense. The resulting non-singular integral equation with symmetric kernel is solved by discretization and reduction to a system of linear algebraic equations. The technique is validated by comparison with previous results for cylindrical foundations with different embedment ratios.  相似文献

The two-dimensional response of a viscoelastic half-space containing a buried, unlined, infinitely long cylindrical cavity of circular cross-section subjected to harmonic plane SH, P, SV and Rayleigh waves is obtained by an indirect boundary integral method based on the two-dimensional Green's functions for a viscoelastic half-space. An extensive critical review of the existing numerical results obtained by other techniques is presented together with some new numerical results describing the motion on the ground surface and the motion and stresses on the wall of the cavity for P, SV, SH and Rayleigh waves.  相似文献

A computationally efficient boundary integral equation technique to calculate the dynamic response of a group of rigid surface foundations bonded to a layered viscoelastic half-space and subjected to external forces and seismic waves is presented. The technique relies on an iterative scheme which minimizes in-core memory requirements and takes advantage of any geometrical symmetry of the foundations. Extensive results for the case of two rigid square foundations placed at different separations and bonded to a viscoelastic half-space are presented. It was found that the choice of discretization of the foundations has a marked effect on the calculated impedance functions for extremely small separations. Illustrative results for a case of several closely-spaced foundations bonded to a layered half-space are also presented.  相似文献

Three-dimensional scattering of seismic waves by a cylindrical alluvial valley embedded in a layered half-space is investigated by using the combination of the boundary integral representation and the finite element method. The surface displacements due to incident plane harmonic body waves (P, SV and SH) propagating at an arbitrary angle to the axis of the cylindrical valley are evaluated numerically for two semi-elliptical alluvial valleys. The presence of the layer is found to have a strong effect on the amplification of the surface displacements in some cases. The three-dimensional motion seems to be quite critical and may cause large amplification. The surface ground motion becomes significant when compared with corresponding free-field motion as the wavelengths become comparable to the characteristic length of the valley. The maximum amplification always occurs atop the valley. Numerical results show that the amplitude and the amplification pattern of the surface displacement strongly depend upon the frequency, the angle and the type of the incident waves.  相似文献

The boundary element method is used to obtain dynamic stiffness functions of rigid cylindrical foundations embedded in a uniform or layered viscoelastic half-space. Dynamic stiffness functions of hemispherical foundations embedded in a uniform half-space are also computed. The direct integral equation formulation is used in combination with the complete space point load fundamental solution that is integrated numerically along the azimuthal coordinate. The approach is easy to implement because of the simplicity of the fundamental solution. The numerical results obtained by this method for cylindrical and hemispherical foundations are very close to corresponding published results obtained by different procedures. A parametric study shows the important effects of the Poisson's ratio on the dynamic stiffness functions of cylindrical foundations embedded in a uniform viscoelastic half-space. The effect of the bedrock compliance on the stiffness functions is also shown in the case of cylindrical foundations embedded in a soil layer that rests on a bedrock.  相似文献

An indirect boundary-method formulation to obtain the three-dimensional response of an infinitely long canyon of uniform but arbitrary cross-section cut in a layered viscoelastic half-space is presented. Seismic excitation in the form of plane elastic waves acting at an arbitrary angle with respect to the axis of the canyon is considered. Numerical results for SH-, SV- and P-wave excitation of a circular canyon and of a canyon with a topography similar to that in the vicinity of Pacoima Dam are discussed in some detail.  相似文献

A rigorous mathematical formulation is presented for the analysis of a thin cylindrical shell embedded in a transversely isotropic half-space under vertically incident P-wave excitation. By virtue of a set of ring-loads Green's functions for the shell and a group of dynamic fundamental solutions for the half-space under arbitrary interfacial dynamic loads, the problem is shown to be reducible to a pair of Fredholm integral equations. By utilizing an adaptive-gradient family capable of capturing regular-to-singular solution transitions smoothly, an accurate numerical procedure is developed. To assess the effect of material anisotropy on the dynamic load-transfer process, a set of comprehensive numerical results presented for various material and geometrical conditions. The accuracy of the proposed numerical scheme is confirmed by its comparison with a benchmark solution for the corresponding isotropic problem.  相似文献

An alternative technique to obtain the dynamic response of a massless rigid circular foundation resting on a uniform elastic half-space when subjected to harmonic plane waves is presented. The technique relies on the use of an integral representation involving the free-field ground motion and the contact tractions obtained in the course of calculating the dynamic force–displacement relationship of the foundation for external forces. Tables listing the translational and rotational components of the response of the foundation for non-vertically incident SH, P, SV and Rayleigh waves are presented.  相似文献

An exact theoretical formulation is presented for the analysis of a thin-walled pile embedded in an elastic half-space under vertically-incident P-wave excitation. In the framework of three-dimensional elastodynamics and a shell theory, the axisymmetrical wave-scattering problem is shown to be reducible to a set of Fredholm boundary integral equations. With the incorporation of the singular characteristics of the wave-induced contact load distributions into the solution scheme, a computational boundary element method is developed for a rigorous treatment of the seismic soil-structure interaction problem. Typical results for the dynamic contact load distributions, displacements, complex-valued foundation input motion functions, and resonant pile foundation response are included for direct engineering applications.  相似文献

For a class of civil engineering structures, that can be accurately represented by ‘coupled shear walls’ (CSWs), a discrete model for the analysis of the dynamic interaction with the underlying soil is proposed. The CSWs, with one or more rows of openings, rest on a rigid foundation embedded in the elastic or viscoelastic half-space. A hierarchical finite element model based on an equivalent continuum approach is adopted for the structure. A frequency-domain boundary element method is used to represent the half-space. Finally, the set of equations governing the response of the coupled soil-structure system to harmonic lateral loads acting on the structure is also given. The frequency deviation effect with respect to the fixed-base structure and the effects of radiation and material damping in the soil are presented for different characteristics of the structure and different soil properties.  相似文献

Vertical dynamic response of a disk on a saturated poroelastic half-space   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This paper considers the vertical dynamic response of a disk on a saturated poroelastic half-space. Firstly the pressure-solid displacement form of the harmonic equations of motion for a poroelastic solid are developed from the form of the equations originally presented by Biot. These equations are solved by a new method. Then the mixed boundary value problem for the vertical harmonic vibration of a disk on a poroelastic half-space is studied. The two types of drainage conditions at the surface of the poroelastic half-space are considered: (a) the surface of the poroelastic half-space is assumed to be completely pervious both within and exterior to the plate; (b) The interface between the plate and the poroelastic half-space is assumed to be impervious and the exterior region is assumed to be pervious. By using the Hankel transform techniques, the paper develops the governing dual integral equations. These governing integral equations are further reduced to systems of standard Fredholm integral equations of the second kind by Abel transform.  相似文献

This paper addresses the horizontal vibration of a rigid disk embedded in a poroelastic half-space in contact with a fluid half-space using the poroelastic theory of potentials. The solution of this problem is expressed in terms of dual integral equations that are converted into Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and solved numerically. Selected numerical results for the horizontal dynamic impedance coefficient are examined based on different poroelastic materials, embedment depths, and excitation frequencies; furthermore, the results are analyzed for the cases in which there is and is no fluid overlying the poroelastic medium to examine the effect of fluid. The results of this study are helpful for designing a foundation embedded in the seabed due to dynamic horizontal forces.  相似文献

Seismic isolation effect of lined circular tunnels with damping treatments   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The Havriliak-Negami model for dynamic viscoelastic material behavior and Biot's theory of poroelasticity are employed to develop an exact solution for three-dimensional scattering effect of harmonic plane P-SV waves from a circular cavity lined with a multilayered fluid-filled shell of infinite length containing viscoelastic damping materials and embedded within a fluid-saturated permeable surrounding soil medium. The analytical results are illustrated with numerical examples where the effects of liner/coating structural arrangement, viscoelastic material properties, liner-soil interface bonding condition, seismic excitation frequency, and angle of incidence on the induced dynamic stress concentrations are evaluated and discussed to obtain representative values of the parameters that characterize the system. It is demonstrated that incorporating viscoelastic damping materials with a low shear modulus in the constrained layer configuration is an efficient means of enhancing the overall seismic isolation performance, especially for near-normally incident seismic shear waves where the amplitudes of induced dynamic stresses may be reduced by up to one-third of those without isolation in a relatively wide frequency range. Some additional cases are considered and good agreements with solutions available in the literature are obtained.  相似文献

3-D seismic response analysis of long lined tunnels in half-space   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
The dynamic response of infinitely long lined tunnels with a uniform cross-section buried into an elastic or viscoelastic half-space to body and surface harmonic seismic waves is numerically determined by a special direct boundary element method in the frequency domain. The waves have an arbitrary direction of propagation with respect to the axis of the tunnel and this renders the problem three-dimensional. However, this problem is effectively reduced to a two-dimensional one by a coordinate transformation and appropriate integration of the full-space dynamic fundamental solution along the direction of the tunnel axis. Quadratic isoparametric boundary line elements and advanced numerical integration techniques for the treatment of singular integrals produce results of high accuracy. Numerical results are presented for the case of an infinitely long lined tunnel of circular cross-section and compared against those of a full three-dimensional boundary element analysis, as well as those of other methods. Thus the proposed method is illustrated and its merits demonstrated.  相似文献

Department of Civil Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, CA 94720, U.S.A. A direct boundary element method to determine the three-dimensional seismic response of an infinitely-long canyon of arbitrary but uniform cross-section cut in a homogeneous viscoelastic half-space is presented. The seismic excitation is represented by P, SV, SH or Rayleigh waves at arbitrary angles with respect to the axis of the canyon. The accuracy of the procedure and implementing computer program is demonstrated by comparison with previous solutions for the limiting case of two-dimensional response, recently obtained three-dimensional response results for infinitely-long canyons, and three-dimensional boundary method solutions presented in this paper for finite canyons.  相似文献
